Sorry for the pause in posting. It's been a silly few days here. Hope you are all staying warm and safe!

By the time they reached the area, their suspect had moved farther south.

Where exactly, nobody knew any longer.

As they'd tried to keep a respectable distance to ensure the man couldn't see them, Doyle's two Vice Inspectors had managed to follow the Buick down Carroll Avenue, but lost him along Gilman amongst the assortment of other cars travelling southbound during rush hour.

Steve slowed the Galaxy down somewhat, as they paralleled the recreational area, allowing both detectives to look at the many sidewalks and parking lots ahead that might prove to be an attractive hiding spot. Having sent Vice the other way, hoping to cut off any escape routes going up north again if the Buick was indeed still in the area, hope was quickly fading that they'd find their prime suspect once again.

Following his gut instinct for once and grateful that Mike didn't argue, Steve pulled the Galaxy into the visitors parking lot of the park at the south end of Hunters Point Expressway, his eyes scanning the rows of cars nearby but not seeing the Buick.

"When I said you should get outside more often, I didn't mean during work hours…", Mike teased with a wily grin, his eyes glued to the same parking area.

"I was just wondering if this…apothecary hangs out around here and is tied to nature, as we're led to believe…this beautiful area might attract him. Cause him to hide around here."

"But what about the car?"

The rational question caused Steve to shrug, as he stopped in front of the no-parking zone and fleetingly flashed the guard his badge.

"If he is smart, he dumped it somewhere in the meantime. If he's really smart, he's going to try to blend in with the crowd down here, knowing we're looking for him. What better place to mix in amongst other people than during lunch hour on a nice day?"

Steve could tell that Mike wasn't entirely on board with his idea but lacked alternatives for the time being. Pursing his lips, the Lieutenant pointed his chin to the sidewalk ahead, that led to one of the most beautiful parks on the south end of San Francisco.

"Ready for a walk in the park, Buddyboy?"

Cringing at the bad pun, Steve shook his head laughingly and got out of the car. Like a guarding shadow, the Lieutenant stayed just a few feet behind.
