GOREN UNDER ARREST

Robert Goren, with his head in his hands, discreetly contemplated his partner Alexandra Eames, who was sorting papers at his desk.

Eames looked up from the paperwork, crossing Goren's eyes and smiling at him.

Who could have guessed that something had happened between them that night?

They were always discreet, but despite all precautions, Goren could never take his eyes off his little partner.

God, how pretty she was.

Especially when her big hazelnut eyes were bawling with passion.

He had noticed from day one that she was a pretty girl.

But he would never have thought that such a girl could be interested in him. The way he was.

He was far from slender, his hair was turning more white. And given his family history and his mood swings...

He was immersed in his thoughts when he saw that Alex's eyes had just darkened.

He felt two hands resting on his shoulders.

He looked up and saw two policemen behind him.

- Robert Goren! The two policemen looked serious, and the whole station was looking at them. You are under arrest for the murder of Neil Bradford!

Alex watched the scene unfold, with his mouth open.

What did it mean?

Bobby got up, but when the police wanted to put the handcuffs on him, he struggled, pushing them off.

- I didn't do anything!

Alex had gotten up in a hurry, knocking her seat down and running to Bobby's side, but one of the cops pushed her away, knocking her to the ground.

At this sight, Goren's blood was just a trick.

He threw a violent punch in the policeman's face.

- Which allowed you to lay your hand on her.

Hannah had rushed to Goren's screams, helping Eames to get up.

- You're at the station... Hannah had a cold, bleeding voice that didn't respond. So thank you for doing this tactfully! He turned to Bobby. I'll get you a lawyer!

Bobby nodded.

Goren looked desperately at Eames while he was handcuffed.

She looked sad, hand over mouth, helpless.

She didn't move, watching him being picked up by the two policemen.

What could she do? She was powerless. She had only one desire, to cry.

As if Hannah had sensed his disarray, he put his hand on her shoulder.

- Don't worry Eames...Alex looked at Hannah and she smiled at him. We'll find her a good lawyer!

Alex had asked to be present the day of Bobby's interrogation, she wanted to know, to try to understand, what was happening to her.

- Where were you Friday night?

Bobby looked the man interrogating him straight in the eyes.

- At my house!

The man approached him, looking him in the eyes.

Bobby knew this form of interrogation, the detective was trying to throw him off balance.

Still it would be necessary that he is something to reproach himself for his murder, a crime he had not committed.

- And do you have an alibi?

Bobby looked at Alex, who was about to speak, but stopped looking at her.

No, she wasn't supposed to say that she was with him and that they had spent the night together.

She could lose her badge, and he wouldn't let her do that. It was simply impossible!

- No, I was alone...He looked at Eames, telling him to shut up. All alone!

Alex got up from his seat.

All eyes turned to her.

- I have to talk to Goren!

The two inspectors looked at each other, nodding.

He went outside, leaving them alone.

Alex approached Bobby, pointing to his chest.

- Why don't you tell the truth? She was screaming. That you were with me!

Bobby shook his head, taking her head in his hands and forcing her to look at him.

She pouting.

She knew that this way he could always get her to give in.

- There's no way you're going to lose your badge because of me!

-But I…

Goren put his finger over Eames' mouth, shutting her up, shaking his head in denial.

Alex had only one desire, to burst into tears.

Tears came to his eyes.

As usual, Goren didn't listen to him, just did what he wanted.

He didn't understand that he was in danger.

Why didn't he want her to put herself forward for once.

And that if she had to lose her job for him then she would.

She had thought it over.

Her last nights had been so empty, so cold without him.

And living without him had become impossible for her!

- Alex, go find Logan and Barek, explain the situation to them! He caressed her cheek. We can only trust the two of them!

Alex nodded.

He was right, Logan and Barek were trustworthy people.

But why hadn't she thought of that earlier?

They could help her find the real culprit and exonerate Goren.

- Goren, someone came to see you!

The cell door opened, revealing a little blonde woman whom he recognized immediately.

Eames was there in front of him.

The guard closed the door behind her.

Eames rushed into Bobby's arms, curling up against him.

Bobby held her gently against him, rocking her.

- I missed you so much, Alex.

He kissed her long blonde hair.

Yes, he missed her. Oh how much!

Not being able to hold her, not being able to kiss her.

And that face, the slightest reaction, from a little pout to a smile!

She carried her eyes bathed in tears, Bobby's face contemplating.

- Alex...

He wiped the tears from his fingers, caressing her cheek.

He brought her face closer to his own, gently taking her lips.

She stood on tiptoes, to fully savor their kiss.

She hugged him, clinging to him desperately.

With delicacy, he stopped their embrace, but keeping her preciously against him.

- Comes.

He put his arm around her back, guiding her to the bunk, where he made her sit, kneeling in front of her.

- Did you get to see Logan and Barek?

She nodded, smiling a little, which warmed Bobby's heart.

- Yes, they're going to take care of everything! She put her hand in her ebony curls caressing them. Logan, come and see you!

Bobby nodded his head, looking serious, caressing the forehead of the young woman, who pressed her hand on his.

- What will become of us?

Tears were flowing from her eyes.

Goren took the young woman in his arms, who loosened up against his chest, crying all the tears of his body. He stroked her back, whispering sweet words to her.

- It's going to be okay, Alex...

Bobby's heart tightened.

Seeing her in this state broke his heart.

And there was nothing he could do.

- Was Alex with you that night, Bobby? Bobby with his mouth open looked at Logan who looked at him with his eyes that pierced him with all his soul. I saw you two kissing in the office, in the Captain's office, when you thought no one was there!

Bobby stood there shocked!

But how could he have seen them? They had been very careful, even for the first time or he had finally dared to kiss him.

Normally it was just the two of them in the post that day. Had he misanalyzed the situation, he who had wanted to be careful.

So Logan knew about his relationship with Alex.

And to think that they had wanted to keep it a secret, or at least try to, to preserve Eames and his career.

Goren remembered the first time he kissed Eames. He hadn't expected her to love herself against him and respond passionately to his kiss.

He had been afraid that she would push him away, that she would rebel against him.

When in fact she hadn't, she had hugged him and he had been able to hold her close to him.

That evening had been the happiest day of his life.

His feelings had returned to him and nothing else mattered to him but this little piece of woman.

- Don't worry, I won't say anything! Logan put his hand on Goren's shoulder, and came and sat beside him, looking at him. I understand why you refuse to let her testify, because if she does she will lose her job!

Bobby nodded.

He wouldn't want Alex to lose his badge for anything in the world, not even if his life was in danger.

- I can't do that to her! Bobby looked serious. He had his head in his hands. She means everything to me!

Logan put his hand on her shoulder, causing Goren to look at him.

- Don't worry Caroline and I will find the culprit! Logan looked off into the distance. Moreover, Caroline will stay close to Alex, so don't worry, she won't be alone in this ordeal ! He looked at Bobby. Nor you, we'll be there !
