Chapter 2
Training From War
"Talking"
'Thoughts'

Once more I woke with a sudden start, though unlike last time the room was strange, first I was in a room, second I was in a slightly hard bottom bunk bed that was a dark maroon. "Where am I." Even to myself my voice sounded hoarse and it hurt to speak, like I hadn't had water in many days. There was a click that rang around the room, the man that I had tried to hurt walked in. "STAND UP!" He Roared his voice shaking the room. I scurried from my bed to stand ramrod straight. "From today on you are a spartan child. I am Ares the Patron of Spartans, but to you and your sense of family I am your cousin. Now come with me."

Spinning he walked out the door me tripping after him. He marched forward and around corners, finally I managed to match his steps just before we entered what looked like a school food court. "This is the Canteen, this is where you will eat or you won't eat. That depends on you, if you do your drills and exercises correctly then you will eat three meals. If you cannot it will be one, AM I UNDERSTOOD SPARTAN!." With his ending in a roar I jumped and responded with. "Yes!" He looked at me "Yes what?" "Yes SIR!" I corrected myself.

He nodded at me then pointed at the table that had a tray of food. "Eat because after that you are going to start training. You said you wanted to avenge your mother and stop the people that did this to you from doing it to others. I will train you but you must listen to all I say or else." I felt a shiver run up my spine when he said or else. I made my way to the table, 'I wonder what this training will be, maybe he will teach me how to punch them.' I thought to myself as I ate the stale tasting food.

Before I realized I had finished my food and Ares was starting to talk again. "Listen runt right now you're weak you aren't even fit to be called a Spartan, the first thing we are training is your body. Starting today you will begin doing mile runs after breakfast, which is the only meal you are sure to get. Failure to complete the run will add a mile to the distance you need to run. After the run you will be doing weight training, as well as rope climbs. Failure on the rope climbs will cause you to do 50 military push ups.

Those will be all until lunch which if you completed all the exercises you will eat if not then you will only have a break." Taking a breath he then continued. "After the break there will be an obstacle course, which you must complete in 40 minutes if you want dinner. Until you are strong enough to handle combat training this will be your days. DO YOU UNDERSTAND." Now know what he wants when he says that I snap upright "YES SIR!" I respond, he nods then motions me to follow.

We walk through the hall to a door that leads to a huge track. "This is where you will be running, as you aren't fit enough yet there is no time limit after a few weeks there will be. One mile is once around the track. NOW RUN RUNT!" His shout made me shoot off down the track, I know how to run but I've never tried to run this long before, not in a row at least. It surprised me that I made it to the middle of the run before I started getting tired and out of breath.

By the time I finished the mile my lungs burned my legs were on fire and I was exhausted. I look to see Ares grinning an almost smug grin, "You made it worm but we now have weight training." His grin got bigger as I started to realize just how much of a hell I was in now. I nearly thought about quitting as I did, my brain decided to remind me of why I was doing this. The flashes of memory of my mother dying of my friends getting shot in the street running. I glared up at Ares my anger surfacing. "Good Little Runt to survive my training you need to be angry, I am Ares Greek god of War and Courage under my training you will bring Ruin to all those you face. Prepare cousin these next three years will break down piece by piece and I will rebuild you into a Spartan." His words shook me to the core. His body was wreathed in a bloody light.

A/N Okay Second chapter done these are probably going to be smaller until we get into the main halo storyline with a few changes. For those that say a 6 year old kid can't run 1 mile in that way I will remind you, the spartan candidates have genetic triggers that made them stronger than a normal child. This adds onto the fact that Percy is a Demigod which are also stronger than normal humans, he is both a spartan program candidate and a Demigod. Now I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and have a great week!
