Chapter 3
Train to Death then Train some more
"Talking"
'Thoughts'

My anger lasted until I got about half way through the weight training, by that point my muscles were on fire and I could barely feel my fingers. But looking at Ares I could tell he didn't care, he told me he would train me, I did understand better now though what an old man said about being in the UNSC ground troops. 'Train until you die and then train some more if you want to get stronger.' I thought to myself as I struggled up the rope. "FASTER MAGGOT! Climb that rope like you mean it." Ares was shouting below me. I moved a little faster, my hands burning and my lungs barely filling with air I made it to the top of the rope climb.

I could barely make my way down when I got to the floor my vision was blurry, my legs wouldn't move. Ares walked over to me. Well at least I think he did. I know there was sweat in my eyes, 'Wish the sweat was out of my eyes.' I thought to myself, with a small tug in my gut I saw water come out of my eyes, it floated in front of my face then I passed out.

"Well he made it through the rope climb so he gets lunch. While he may be seaweeds' kid there's much he needs to be taught. Might want to bring dear Aunt Flame into this, mostly so I don't kill him." Ares grunted under his breath, looking at the sleeping child. "But I can say his will to grow is rather marvelous, I will make him my champion in a year if he continues to prove himself." Lifting the small child the ancient being walked away.

-Time skip 1 year-

Waking at my normal time of 0600. I did my morning routine of showering, brushing my teeth, dressing then going for breakfast. At seven years old I now stood 5' 0" weighing in at 100lbs I knew I was something more than human. After all, Ares had told me the story of his family now the Greek gods or more precisely the only humans to have survived the flood almost ascended. I don't understand what ascension means but it was important. After all, it made Ares and his family immortal.

More importantly it made my Father immortal, he had only been able to visit twice. The first time he had come he had explained who he was. My father is Poseidon, god of the Seas, Father of Horses, Strombringer and Earth Shaker. It was a shock and to be honest I was furious with him for almost three months afterwards for not coming to save my mother. 'At least he came to see me after he realised what I went through.' I thought darkly, shaking myself from my thought I started to get excited today was the day I finally got to pick out the first weapon I was going to learn.

Finally after a year Ares thinks I'm ready to wield a weapon. 'A year of near death exercises and running.' The sassy part of my brain broke out. 'Yes but at least we got something out of it.' I retorted to myself. I stopped my internal debate as I entered the dining hall for breakfast. Ares was standing there, per normal fashion I snapped to attention. "At ease runt, as you know, today is the day I will allow you to pick a weapon to train in. The weapon you choose will be the main weapon you use. That does not mean you won't be trained in other weapons."

I nodded at his explanation. "Yes Sir I understand Sir." My response was in a clipped tone as I'd been trained for the last year. With a nod he told me to eat so we could do the normal routine. After the work outs and lunch I was led to a new room one I hadn't been in before. It was filled with weapons of every kind, as I walked I saw a sword I gripped the hilt. 'You're a good weapon if this had been a different time and a different life I may have chosen you. But sadly beautiful blade you and I aren't destined for a great bond.' The sword seemed to hum but I was sure that was my mind playing tricks.

I walked farther into the weapon storeroom and I noticed other weapons. A Great axe glowing with a dark green energy, a spear crackling with electricity, more and more strange weapons. I walked until I came to a weapon beautiful in design, It was a massive hammer with what looked like tremors passing along it every few seconds, as I reached forward to grip the handle I felt an almost spiritual connection to this hammer. My body seemed to hum with the earth shaking powers of my father. "Sir Ares Sir I believe I have found my weapon." With a great effort I barely managed to lift the massive hammer. "Though I don't think I am ready to fully wield this weapon." With a sharp nod Ares lifted the hammer out of my arms. "Ah you have chosen well this weapon's name is Γη σέικερ (Earth Shaker in English and will be written that way from now on).

A/N Wow this took awhile I'm sorry for the wait, Mostly it was because I had a death in the family and lost motivation for this but I started working on both my stories again though The Water Gamer is still a bit away from being updated. Anywhoo I hope you all enjoy this chapter.
