"Oh no, I'm still alive!" Fernwillow shrieked as she woke up from her position on the hospital bed. "It's not a dream! Bloodstar killed everyone I hate! Yayyyy! Cheese!"

Asseater, a warrior clown nurse, kicked open the door to Fernwillow's room.

"You're free to go now," Asseater said. "Here are some free hot cheetos."

Fernwillow violently tugged all the IVs out and took the bag of hot cheetos. "Thank you, clown. I like cheese."

"You're welcome," said Asseater, whose happy clown makeup and cheerful nurse costume masked his inner sadness and loneliness. "My daughter died in the school shooting. I'm sad."

"Oh," Fernwillow replied, opening the bag of hot cheetos. "Well that sucks. Bye, Asseater!"

Fernwillow ran away the hospital despite the fact that she probably had multiple injuries and was totally allowed to discharge herself from the hospital. Yet only one scene kept flashing back in her mind: the blood, sweat, and tears as she had wrestled with Bloodstar for the sniper. She felt rage, acrid bitter rage.

Bloodstar only took out less than half of the senior class. She was supposed to be the one who killed everyone, regardless of grade level, with headshots. Bloodstar was merely meant to be a pawn in her game.

Shatter your skull, thought Fernwillow, banging her head on a boutique store window. It broke. Glass shards pierced her head and scratched her face. Fight pain with more pain.
