Harry huddled in his cupboard and assessed what was wrong. He had a fractured arm… normal. A broken leg… also fairly normal. Headache? Easy to cope with. Satisfied, he waited for the Dusley's to leave before he dared move. Once he heard the door shut he made a fist and opened it. There it was. He'd read enough books from the kind lady at the library to know that the sign was an alchemist rune for fire. But why did he have it? He turned his hand over a few times. It was still there, but now it was glowing red. Well, at least he could see now. Absentmindedly flicking away a black widow that seemed to want to nest in his hair, he turned over and fell asleep, not noticing that when the rune mark faded and disappeared, a tall man appeared in the dining room.

Harry woke up to a thump. Sitting up, he winced as his leg nearly yelled at him for moving so fast. His ears moved the same way as a cat's as he heard whispering. "Look at all this stuff in the fridge," "Shut up Jeff we'll be heard," "Where's the kid?" The last one alarmed Harry so much that the rune started glowing powerfully. Shoot, whoever was in the house would see it and know where he was.

EJ cautiously tried to open the cupboard door, but it was locked. Weird. He turned to look at his boss, who unlatched the lock easily. EJ, and Jeff jumped back as it revealed a short boy with a frightened expression. The weirdest thing wasn't the way his ears moved. It was the red triangle sign on his open palm. Fire? What did that mean? Then EJ almost wrenched open the front door to follow the adults when he saw the state the boy and cupboard was in. Actually, Slenderman had to hold him back as his experienced eyes swept over the broken boy and the feces covered cupboard. "EJ, Jeff, go back. I want you to wake up Nurse Ann and tell her we have an emergency," Slenderman ordered. The proxies nodded, and disappeared. He held out a hand. "Come with me. I promise you'll be safe,"

Harry took the faceless man's hand warily. It wasn't because he was scared, not anymore, but all his life the Dursley's had stayed away from what they called 'freakish things'. This man was definitely not normal, but Harry had though he'd been the only one in the world.
