Clockwork hadn't had the idea of adopting a kid. But they'd just come back from an assignment and Slenderman had detected a kid with magic underneath a cupboard from a house. So naturally, her idiot of a husband, Toby, decided to keep him, even though technically, since they were still at the mansion he was everyone's kid.
EJ had a feeling they'd be killing again. The kid was wearing rags that were too big for him and looked more suitable for bandages. One quick look told him that he had several broken bones and even though he had no need to, he looked over at Nurse Ann, who'd nodded and confirmed it. And he was malnourished. Jesus Christ, even the place he was sleeping in was worse than a box full of mini Jeffs.
It didn't take long for Clockwork to see (and hear) that the boy's limping step was slowly falling in place with the ticking of her clock eye. She looked down. The boy was whipping his head around in a manner that reminded her of Toby's worse ticks. She wondered when he would get whiplash.
Harry, let me out, I wanna see. Harry stopped trying to take in everything at the same time. Liason, what if people see it? Aw, you worry too much. Besides, in case you haven't noticed, the people around you aren't what the Dursley's would approve of. Don't make a nuisance of yourself or I'll take back control, Li.
Toby noticed first when the boy's gait changed. So did his eyes, which were now a brilliant silver. His hair was also now a dull red. "See, it ain't so bad Harry," the boy muttered. "They barely noticed," everyone turned around as he switched back to what he was before. "Liason, you idiot. Now they do," he sounded annoyed as again, his hair turned red. "Oops,"
Slenderman was now curious. "What's your name?" "Liason, or Harry, depending on if my brother is mad at me or if I have to hide," the redhead said easily. His eyes turned green. "Liason, you're going to get us killed. Sorry sir, my- er, brother isn't very cooperative because I was the one who- never mind," Slenderman wrapped a tentacle around him. "No, no, it's alright," Harry looked distressed. "But- but Uncle Vernon said I was a freak!"
Clockwork stopped them and crouched. "Harry, I'm going to ask you now. Do you think there's anyone in this group who's normal?" he looked around, from Slenderman, to Nurse Ann, then to her, and shook his head. "Now, do you think anyone here would judge you?" he looked at the same people again, and shook his head. "It doesn't matter if you're a freak, a purple octopus with no legs, or someone with wings like Judge Angel. We all have bad backstories,"
Slenderman nodded. "Now, I want you to relive everything to everyone when we get to the mansion," Clockwork added.
