H2O, otherwise known as water. It's a simple thing really, two separate elements combined to make something new, much like everything else in the universe. Elements were after all the world's building blocks and those two separate elements share something in common, even though the number between the two was not a common one. But at the end of the day it's not the number of elements but how they're combined ... and strangely despite it being important to all life, water was considered an inorganic compound. In addition to all that water also has probably one of the world's most well known chemical formulas. In fact it's so popular even children know it, however one such child had no idea just how much it'd change his life.

Izuku Midoriya trailed along with his best friend Bakugo Katsuki walking towards class, they both knew they were gonna get quirks that'd change the world. They were going to be the best hero duo the world had ever seen.

That was until Bakugo Katsuki got his quirk at the age of 4 awakened his quirk in the middle of a preschool class. Izuku or Deku as his best friend had taken to calling him. The nickname hurt a little bit as it meant useless but Izuku Midoriya was one to take things in stride, a simple monomer wouldn't hurt him. After all his dad was a world famous quirk researcher, and his mom worked for an infamous legal firm, how could he ever be useless? "Kacchan that's amazing, your quirk is so cool!" Deku ecstatically called out to his friend.

"Heh I knew it would, it's cause I'm awesome Deku. You need to hurry up and get your own quirk already. I can't have you sitting around being all useless forever." Bakugo scoffed as everyone around them kept looking at the little sparks being created in the boy's palms.

"Okay class as cool as it is that one of your fellow students got their quirk we've got some learning to do." Their preschool teacher declared causing many of the students to groan, Bakugo was still busy staring at his hands.

Several Months later

"Okay class, today we're going to be learning about the water cycle. It explains how all water on the planet is constantly recycled. In fact because of the way it works every single one of you has probably drinken dinosaur spit at some point." The teacher laughed at her student's anguish, as many of them started making 'bleh' sounds. "Don't worry, don't worry I know it's a gross thought but the way water works makes sure that it's completely purified as it reaches the sky. Before I continue, who knows the chemicals that make up water?"

Several kids raised up their hand but she called on Midoriya. "Yes Midoriya?"

"Oh I know, it's H2O!" The second the words left his lips a small stream of water left the boy's hands which splashed onto a few kids that sat at his table causing them to freak out. Izuku started apologetically screaming at the sight. "Oh no I'm so sorry! I didn't know I could do that!"

Izuku almost started crying but the teacher walked over with a towel. "It's okay dear, kids these days have to deal with the unknown of their powers all the time. Don't worry about it!" The woman smiled brightly at Izuku.

Deku had been so panicked he didn't even realize his quirk had awakened, that shock would be delivered by Bakugo. "Oi Deku got your quirk finally and it's some stupid water making quirk? It doesn't even look that strong. Of course your useless ass would get something as equally worthless."

Deku was so busy staring at his hands that his childhood friends words didn't even register except for the last few. 'Wait water? But I wasn't thinking of water.' "Haha Kacchan just you wait, I'll turn it into something amazing." The stomach rumbling following his declaration caused more than a few students in the class to giggle, but why was he hungry? Izuku just ate like thirty minutes ago.

Izuku was following along the Bakugo brigade as they walked into a forest that wasn't open to the public. "Guys I don't think we should be here, it said k-keep out." Izuku quietly stammered out.

The other two boys following Bakugo showed no such worry. "Heh Deku you gonna go home and cry to momma Inko? You can't be a hero like that, that being said you couldn't be a hero anyway with that useless quirk anyway."

The other two boys following Bakugo copied his leering, which honestly if Izuku thought meant they were even further below 'useless'. "My quirk's not useless!" The boy angrily pouted. "I mean it's not as cool as wings but it's definitely better than extendable fingers!" Izuku pointed out.

"Deku's not wrong weird hands, ur quirk fing sucks." Bakugo laughed.

Now everybody was jeering on the poor child known as Yubi. "Guy's it's not that bad." He cried out.

Bakugo kept laughing and was about to cross a log bridge with moss on it but he felt someone grab his shoulder. "Deku what are you doing?"

"I wouldn't go over that Kacchan, it looks really slippery." Izuku cautioned the boy.

"Huh? Just watch me Deku!" The boy confidently strode across the bridge before reaching the halfway point where his footing started to slip.

Deku could only watch as his childhood friend fell into the dangerous waters below, the sharp rocks scared the boy. Izuku ran as fast he could to try and help his friend who seemed okay as they started to get up. Izuku was so relieved Kacchan wasn't hurt. "Kacchan are you okay? Those rocks looked dangerous." The boy stuck out his other hand hoping the other would take it.

Bakugo on the other hand was furious, how dare this useless loser look down on him. His quirk wasn't nearly as good as his, how dare he! Bakugo slapped the boy's hand away before standing up on his own. "You think I need help from you, useless loser. If I needed my fucking plants watered I'd call you, otherwise fuck off Deku!" The child roared at his lackey.

Izuku started tearing up, why was Bakugo so mean. "You know what, fine! I'm done with you Bakugo, you keep bullying everyone around you, calling them useless or losers. I won't be a part of this anymore, and on top of that it's not water, it's H2O!" Izuku had no idea why he identified more with the chemical makeup instead of the actual thing it became but it sounded right to the boy. "I'm done with you!" 'Deku screamed as he turned and left, leaving a distraught child behind him.

Izuku sat alone in his room weeping before his mother came in. "Izuku dear what's wrong? Do you want to see the All Might video again?" The green haired woman pulled her son into an embrace, hugging him gently.

"Bakugo's -sniff- such a meanie, he keeps making fun of everyone's quirks. W-we had a f-fight and I ran." Izuku said as he left tear stains in his mothers sweater.

"Oh it's okay sweetie, sometimes people fight." The woman cooed into the boy's ears. "I'm sure you two will be over it in no time, and just because your quirk isn't like either of ours doesn't make it weird or not as good as his."

"A-are you sure M-mom?" Deku asked his mother weakly.

"Of course I'm sure." And just like that the doorbell rang. "See? I wonder who that could be Izu? I'm sure it's little Katsuki here to apologize for what he said."

Izuku sniffled while he nodded, hoping she was right. The boy took his mother's hand and followed her to the door. "You going to be okay Izu?"

"Y-yeah -sniff- mom." The boy weakly nodded again.

"Good, and remember crying doesn't make you weak, it makes you ..." The woman trailed off letting her boy finish it.

"A midoriya!" He shouted brightly.

"Exactly." The doorbell rang again impatiently, causing Inko to chuckle quietly before opening it, she saw her best friends outstretched hand and laughed more openly. "Hey Mitsuki, impatient as always I see."

"And you Inko always as motherly I see." Both women shared a hug before speaking again. "It's good to see you but first my brat has something he needs to say. Why don't you two go talk in private lil Izu?"

Bakugo had been behind the woman and grumbled before entering the room. "Hey de-Izuku, I wanna talk about earlier."

Izuku took a second to look between the two Bakugo's before grabbing the younger's hand and leading to his All Might themed room. "Still got that All Might themed name plate on your door I see nerd."

"Hey! It's a good nameplate." The young midoriya cried out in mock anguish. "So what did you want to talk about Bakugo."

Hearing that made the other boy cringe harder than he did the first time. "I-I just wanted to say I'm sorry okay you stupid nerd." Bakugo took a second to look around the room, mostly to hide his embarrassment. "You're right okay! I was being a bully and I hurt you and Yubi's feelings by saying your less than useful quirks were useless, they could still do some stuff." Bakugo grumbled under his breath. "Just because you can't make explosions like I can doesn't mean I should judge you for it. I mean the hag has some weird oily sweat and my dad just has some stupid ability to use his hand as a lighter. So making water is kinda pretty cool actually"

There was silence before Izuku started laughing, which angered the other boy. "Hey I'm trying to be serious here!"

"I know, I know, but the way you apologized, it was so you Kacchan." Izuku wheezed a bit longer before recovering. "As for your apology I accept." Izuku struck his hand out for the other boy to shake which he did. "Also it's not water, I think of H2O when I want to make ... some-" Izuku froze before running out of the room.

Bakugo looked confused as the nerd ran away but followed him nonetheless.

"MOM! MOM! CAN I BORROW YOUR PHONE!?" The little boy started screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Sure but why honey?" Inko and Mitsuki both looked at the manic child slightly confused.

"Just lemme Mom! I gotta try something!"

Still confused the woman handed his boy her phone.

Izuku quickly opened the internet browsing before googling the elemental table, there! That's exactly what he wanted. Okay Izuku, imagine it as a solid block, you want to make a decent amount as well. You don't want water you want this! Izuku screamed as his shirt tore open from the sheer size of the object he created.

Everyone in the room watched as the boy's clothing tore open and stared in awe at what came out, all except for Inko who promptly fainted on the spot.

Izuku disregarded his destroyed shirt instead he stared at the large metal cube he'd formed. It was almost a foot by foot solid block of Au, or more importantly, gold. "I DID IT! WHY AM I SO HUNGRY?"

Bakugo just started screeching while Mitsuki was busy looking over her fainted friend.
