A group of bird-like humanoids, each one covered with fine feathers, leapt through the high treetops of the forest. The group were forced to move fast, with no real time to stop, jumping and leaping forward from one branch to another the second they landed.

There suddenly came a rumble, which instantly echoed out across the forest, then behind them trees started to shake and shudder.

There came a look of alarm to the face of this group's leader. "They've done it... they've only gone and manage to find us!" Their leader sounded deflated.

Another member of the group looked back for a second over their shoulder. "Yes and there moving in pretty fast..."

"There's no time to waste, they're hot on our tail feathers." came the voice of another member of the group.

"But how... how could they have known we would have taken this route?" asked a female, who looked fearful to their leader. "Look it doesn't matter now…' was the leader's quick response. 'what does, is that we just keep on moving... we've got to make it to Creemouth."

"He's right, Kanah and you know it!' called out the bird humanoid, who had chosen before to looked back, speaking now to the female, in the hopes of calming her worries. 'Our people must be warned."

.

The group as a unit continued on, the leader choosing to have Kanah stay close to him as they again leapt from branch to branch to stay ahead of their approaching enemy.

"How could we have lived alongside them for so long, for them to now merely consider us as their enemy!?" Kanah asked of her leader.

However, there was clearly no time for the leader here to search for an answer, as again the whole forest was rocked by the power of yet another explosion.

.

Large once standing trees were being ripped up at the root and being thrown across the forest; before landing with a heavy thud to the earth's floor.

.

The leader knew that their enemy was getting ever closer, despite their own best efforts, as the effects of their blasts were getting much worse, as trees had been up rooted and fell to the earth; now the urgency of their mission to get help, to get to Creemouth was mounting. The leader knew that their enemy was getting ever closer, despite their own best efforts, as the effects of these blasts were being felt much greater; now the urgency of their mission to get help, to get to Creemouth was mounting.

.

The leader caught sight of Kanah's attempt here to turn her head, and as he truly didn't want the young one to see the devastation and disaster; pointed on ahead, stating, "Eye forward, yes, Kanah… eyes forward!" in hopes of diverting her attention.

Kanah at hearing this, turned her head to look across at her leader, and nodded; her gaze once again forward, as she somehow knew that to look back would make it all seem more real than it was.

"And, Kanah, keep on moving, whatever happens eyes forward and keep moving!"

.

There then came a third rumble, Kanah was forced the second she had landed onto the next tree, to hold tightly on to the tree's trunk, due to the effects of the blast.

.

At this, the last of their group, as he steadied himself on the branch he had landed upon, again chose to look back, and as he saw the cloud of dust and the fallen devastation, he called to the front. "They're getting closer, Mayou, damn it!" addressing their leader solely.

.

This was true and their leader knew that maybe there was no escape and that they may not make it to Creemouth, however, he wasn't about to lay down in defeat just yet. 'I can't lose sight of our task… No, I can't just give up on them… on our people!' and so with that thought in mind, he rallied, "Creemouth isn't much further! They may move fast, but we are Reunet and, hell, we move a lot faster! We will warn Creemouth… and in return they will, no doubt, offer us help… help to fight off the Kay'lah!" Mayou wishing above all else to keep the group moving; even though that deep down his heart was pounding and sweat was on his brow through worry.

And with that said he ploughed on, Kanah and the other two leaping forward with him.

.

The fourth explosion was so close now, further trees were up rooted, all falling down to the ground with a crash.

"Stay together, you hear me… and whatever you do, no one loses sight of each other... no one gets left behind!" was Mayou's warning.

"Got it, Mayou!" said the third member of the group, acknowledging their leader.

"We must get to the next town… and warn them of what's coming, warn them that the Kay'lah have chosen to turn on us…" were the words of their leader. It was hoped that once at Creemouth that they could hopefully take some form of stance against the damn Kay'lah.

The two males nodded their agreement, followed by Kanah.

Mayou saw, with great relief, that all understood what they had to do, and what was at stake here.

.

"We know you're up there, Mayou, you and your Reunet scum… we have the power here… and we will get you!" called out a voice from the ground below them.

.

The beautiful and lush forest of brown, gold and green was being pulled apart and ruined by the race below, the Kay'lah, in their hunt and capture of the bird-like Reunets.

.

The group on Mayou's orders came in tighter, as they continued on, no one was going to be left behind, not on his watch.

"I still can't get my head around all this..."

"Sadly, Kanah, things haven't made sense ever since Mosark became their leader." commented Mayou.

"But why, Mayou… why turn on us now!' stated the young female, Kanah. 'What have we done to deserve it!"

The leader could only come up with this answer. "The Kay'lah are no doubt blinded now by his deep thirst for power, wealth and gain." One possibility that also made sense in his head.

.

There then came a further loud explosion, one that sent a rumble straight through the forest, followed by a blast of mud and earth, which made the trees at the group's very heels fall to the floor.

They had done it, the Kay'lah's were closer than ever, sadly the Reunet's head start meant for nothing now. Mayou called to the others. "Keep it moving, you hear me… we have to keep going!"

"Come on you heard him!' stated the first male in clear response to his leader's wishes. 'it's not going to be easy, but we have to continue… as we may possibly be our race's only chance to strike back!"

.

There was a second greater rumble, there wasn't much time between blasts as there was before, the Kay'lah's were not holding back.

.

In this blast, a tree fell and sadly with it, so did a member of their group. Kanah called out in sorrow. "Nooo, Bryak!"

Mayou saw the member of his group suddenly fall, and even though he truly wished to cry for this loss, he sadly knew that there was no time to mourn their passing.

"A stance as to be taken… Creemouth is our only hope!" and so he took hold again of Kanah's hand. It may have seemed brutal and insensitive, but he pulled her on. As she was pulled by her arm, Kanah jumped yet again, seeing that it was only the three of them now, and that maybe all rested on them getting to Creemouth.

.

The Kay'lah heard the calls from the Reunet above them for the fallen member of their race, but that didn't stop them now, not one single mud person even took one fleeting second to look back at their fallen enemy.

A grin even came to the group's leaders face, the man holding some kind of pleasure in his actions. "We won't be stopped, you heard me…' stated the mudded being, cupping his hands around his mouth to aid in a louder voice. 'all will fall… all will fall!"

There were the commands by their leader to continue forward, and that they will wipe out their enemy.

And with that said, all Kay'lah soldier were driven to act, continuing forward at great speed after the Reunet's fleet above, as the soldier within them wanted to take down the enemy.

.

There was yet another offence, in the Kay'lah's true hope of taking all of the Reunet down. In this blast again mud and earth shot up into the air, trees were left on their sides; and as further trees were up rooted, in the end, the three Reunet sadly fell to the earth below.

.

Kanah slowly came around, she was in grave pain, she tried to move, but as she was winded the air being take out of her by the fall she could move. She looked up, but blacked out, just capturing sight of the dark mudded being standing over her.
