Chapter Two

Keith woke up to a nudge on his shoulder. When he opened his eyes to a pale face with a scar.

"Shiro?" Keith grumbled. "What time is it?" He was tired from going to bed late from unpacking. So, ofcourse he's going to be moody.

"Like 8 o'clock. Now, come on and get changed." Shiro shook him a bit more.

"Why?" Keith started to sit up and rub his sleepiness from his eyes.

Shiro smiled. "We have guests."

"What? Who?" Keith blinked.

"The neighbors, now come on and get up." Shiro patter his back and left the room.

After changing, brushing his hair and teeth, he walked into the living room to find it was very crowded.

A tan, older couple sat on the loveseat smiling at whatever conversation was happening. On the couch was a young man and woman who had a young girl on her lap. Next to them was another woman who looked exactly like the older woman who sat on the loveseat, but younger.

At the counter, the chairs were turned toward the living room and there sat yet another young lady with chin length brunette hair, and a man with shoulder length hair smiling. On the other side of the counter was Shiro and Adam, who were leaning against the counter and up against each other.

In the rocking chair, there was a child sitting in a tan man's lap who looked around his age and, wow.

He was unmistakably beautiful. He had caramel skin that looked dotted with freckles, piercing ocean blue eyes, soft looking brown hair, and the sweetest smile.

Keith felt his heart in throat and his face a bit red.

Shiro must have noticed him standing there, staring at the brunette because suddenly he was smiling and saying "Hey Keith! Glad you could join us!"

All heads turned toward him, including the handsome stranger.

Shiro stood up straight. "Keith, these are the McClains. Their our neighbors." He smiled.

Keith gave a hesitant wave. The woman on the loveseat spoke up. "Hello Keith. I'm Rosa and this is my husband, Jose." The man next to her gave a stiff wave and a genuine smile. "And everyone else is my kids and grandkids." She smiled.

Keith nodded and joined them fully in the living and sat on the fireplace edge.

Everyone else had introduced themselves. The couple on the couch were Rosa's oldest son, Luis, and his wife, Lisa. The child on their lap was Nadia. And next to them was Veronica, the second oldest.

At the counter was Marco and Rachel, the middle and second youngest.

And in the rocking chair was the youngest son, Lance, and Luis and Lisa's oldest, Syvlio.

They were all very nice, but asked a lot of questions, like "What brings you to Altea?" "Where are you originally from?" "How old are you?" "Favorite hobby?", such like that.

After two hours of all the questions, Keith excused himself to go out on one of the porch rocking chair to watch the sky, which the Sun was high and bright from being noon. He found himself staring at the other neighbor's house, to the right. A grey trailer home with a huge garage out side with a truck or two and a pool.

"Couldn't take everyone?" A voice asked somewhere behind him.

Keith jumped in the chair and turned to see Veronica giggling at him. She sat down in the chair next to him. "Not really. I'm not used to all these people."

Veronica hummed. "Oh, that's our neighbor, Mr. Moyer." She said after a moment.

Keith nodded. And silence continued for a few more minutes, with them looking at the sky fading behind the trees on the hill behind them. Keith spoke up, "Back home, I only really had a few friends."

Veronica glanced at him for a second and nodded. "I get that."

Keith sighed. His friends back home, weren't really his friends anymore. James, Ryan, Ina, and Nadia were his friends for most of his life. When Keith told James who his crush was, James had yelled at him for who he liked, and that it was his same gender. James stopped talking to him, and everyone followed with him. Keith became the laughing stock for ninth grade.

They sat there in a comfortable silence after that till Adam called them back in for the McClains to leave.

They all said their goodbyes and left.

That day was a bit crazy, having the McClains over and all. For dinner, they ordered Chinese food and talked. It was surprisingly relaxing. Until, Shiro broke the comfortable silence.

"I see you were drooling a bit over a certain McClain." He said in a singsong voice.

Keith glanced up from his food and realized what he had meant. Keith coughed and looked away out the window, ignoring Shiro and his face turning red.

Adam looked between the two. "Wait, really?" He felt Shiro kick Adam from under the table as Adam let out a protest groan. "Oh, yes, I uh.. totally knew you were." Adam said, unconvincingly. Shiro mouthed the word 'Lance' and Adam's face erupted in a grin.

"Lance?!" He said excitedly. Shiro nodded and Keith just banged his head on the table, gently so he wouldn't hurt himself. "Oh, he is a Prince Charming, but still a very kind hearted young man." Adam smiled. It looked fond, but more teasing.

Keith grumbled under his breath a 'May I please be excused.'

Adam and Shiro looked between each other and nodded, the teasing smile still on their lips.

Keith got up, took his rice carton and left his orange chicken and trudged over to his room. As he left, he could hear giggling from the kitchen.

Sighing, he sat on his bed put his head in his hands. He was not getting out of this one.

And he flopped back and stared at the ceiling that was staring to turn dark from the Sun setting.
