Sorry for the late update! I've been busy with things, and honestly, this is my favorite chapter so far.

Also happy late New Year and merry Christmas!

Enjoy!

Chapter Seven

Lance yawned loudly, lifting his head from desk.

"Geez, what time did you even go to bed?" Keith huffed a small laugh, looking up from his perch on Lance's bed. They were doing their weekly studying session.

Lance hesitated for a moment. "Uh, probably like, midnight." Keith sighed deeply. "I know, I know. I got too caught up on my nightly series binge." He mumbled, putting his head back on his desk.

"You need to watch your sleep more. Ms. Carr won't be very happy to find you sleeping in class again." Keith said as he sat up and wrapped his arms around his knees. There, he set his head on his knees and continued looking at Lance.

His frame was beautiful from his point of view. His sandy, dark hair was pushed back out of his face with a light blue headband. His amazingly ocean blue eyes were drooped with slight exhaustion. The dim, warm light of his desk lamp made his caramel skin look stunning and sparkly from small beads of sweat, most likely from a bit of stress.

Keith guessed he looked... okay too he guessed.

He had his hair pulled back in his regular ponytail, except Lance had forced him to push his bangs back with a maroon headband, just like his. He had on one of his favorite baggy sweatshirts with his Pop's old company logo, which was his Pop's sweatshirt. It still smelled like him, and was a bit large on Keith.

But between you and him, Lance definitely was more gorgeous then Keith. Definitely.

Keith would never dare say it to the guy, because it would all go to his head - which is never a good thing.

Lance sighed again, rubbing his eyes, most likely trying to rub away his sleepiness. "I know."

Lance's door opened slightly, and in came a skinny brown and white cat, prancing with pride and over to Keith.

"Rosie! Hi, baby girl." Lance exclaimed happily as he got up from his desk chair, receiving a loud creak in the old, worn wood of it. "It's about time you came in and said hi."

Lance picked Rosetta up by the belly and held her to his chest, slowly running his hand over her head and getting a low purr in response.

He sat down next to Keith on the top of his bed and wiggled to try and fit between the wall and Keith. Once he was comfy, he laid down slightly and set Rosetta on his chest and happily petted her as she fell asleep, his own head on the headboard of his bed. Keith tried not to blush over the close proximity of the two of them.

Keith sighed, and decided to ask something he would regret later. "Hey, uh Lance?" He asked.

Lance hummed in response, still petting Rosetta. "What is it?" He side glanced over to Keith, still having his hands still on the purring cat on his chest.

"Have you.." he hesitated. "Ever uh.." Keith mumbled, suddenly loosing his confidence from earlier.

"Yeah?"

"Have you ever kissed anyone?" He asked slowly, looking Lance right into his beautiful- beautiful- eyes.

Lance looked at him weird for a moment. Different expressions crossing his face. Confusion. Uncertainty. Hesitation. And, a bit of hurt? "Why?" He questioned.

"Uhm.. because I want to know?" Keith murmured.

"Well," Lance started. "I have not.. but I want to." He said looking at Keith with a small smile.

Keith felt his heartbeat increasing slowly. "I, uh. Haven't either." He gulped.

Lance nodded. "I mean we're only sixteen so." He shrugged slightly, probably trying not to wake the now sleeping cat.

Keith hummed slowly and continued to stare into Lance's ocean blue eyes.

Just by looking into them, he could see his gorgeous pools of water, spiraling to proceed to do something.

Keith thinks maybe he knows what that something is.

Just maybe.

"Lance." He whispered.

"Yes?" Lance whispered back.

He didn't know why he was whispering. "Can I.. kiss you?"

Keith saw something change in Lance's eyes. Only for second. Lance nodded slowly, yet eagerly.

Soon the proximity between them closed, and their lips finally touched. Keith could feel the sparks flying. It was finally happening. Keith thought.

Lance put the palm of his hand of Keith's cheek. Keith put his hand onthe back of Lance's head, deepening the kiss.

The sweetness of Lance's vanilla tasted lips drowned him. He could stay there, on the bed, kissing Lance and listening to the soft purrs of Rosetta all day.Lance was the first to break away, Keith wanting to continue but didn't find the courage to.

"Sorry." Lance murmured, slowly inching away from Keith and pushing a loose strand of hair out of his face.

Keith nodded. "It's okay." He smiled softly.

Lance smiled back. "Oh and Keith." He raised an eyebrow to Lance. "You're a good kisser." He giggled while pecking him on the cheek.

While Lance got up with Rosetta, going back to his desk, Keith felt his heart racing and face hot as a boiling teakettle.

"Can you not?" Pidge asked, angered that Keith was shuffling instead of actually walking.

"Sorry." He said, rolling his eyes.

"Pidge can be.. a little overdramatic." Hunk sighed, walking with them.

"You think?" Keith huffed exaggeratedly.

"Hey! I heard that." She turned around and walked backwards, her hands still in her pockets, scowl present on her lips.

Keith giggled at her.

Her, Hunk, and Keith were walking to meet Lance at the front of the school. They were almost there, just passing a hall of lockers.

Expect.. something caught Keith's eye.

A couple kissing. In the hall way.

The girl had the boy pinned to the locker, kissing him.. rather aggressively. They looked a bit familiar, like someone he knew.

"Keith?" Hunk asked, snapping him out of his thoughts. "You okay?"

"Yeah it's just.. they look so familiar." He said, still kind of eyeing the couple.

Hunk started looking at them too, sort of closely. "Yeah, they kind of look like Lance and.. Vera? Wait," Hunk said. "Oh my quiznak! It is Lance and Vera."

Keith felt his heart shatter into pieces. Lance was kissing...

"Geez.. it looks like Vera has him pinned."

"I, have to go." Keith said shakily, running off toward the front of the school.

"Oh, now you're running!" Pidge shouted.

"No running and yelling!" A teacher yelled as he passed.

Keith reached the front of the school and sat down on the steps. He felt tears pricking in his eyes.

"Are you alright?" A voice said, not sounding very concerned as it should with the statement. A very familiar voice.

"I'm fine." He mumbled to the stranger.

He heard a laugh that was all too familiar. "You don't sound fine, Kogane."

Keith felt his eyes widened in horror.

Because he did know that voice. It belonged to his old crush, his old best friend for years, his old everything.

James Griffin.

Hope you enjoyed! Again, this is definitely my favorite chapter I've written.

Next update on next Saturday.
