Hey guys. Just a TW, there is some angst.

I honestly don't like writing it, but to me, every story has to has some in at least one chapter or two lol. Also just wanted to say I will now be using "~~~" to separate chapters because the regular one was not working so hot for me.

Enjoy! OwO

"James." Keith huffed angrily. "What are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to be, I don't know, back in Texas?"James hummed, checking his fingernails like he didn't care, which he probably didn't. "I came to say hi to.. an old friend." He smiled apologetically. Keith opened his mouth to spit something back, but James held up his hand to stop and continued when his mouth shut back up. "And no it's not you." James giggled.

"Then who." Keith grumbled.

"Jamie!" A cute, female voice called.

Keith looked back at the school to see Vera, Lance, Hunk, and Pidge piling out of Altea. "Vera. Hey, babe." James smiled as he walked up to Vera.

Lance's small smile shattered for a second. "Babe?" He asked her.

"Well, yes. I did tell you my boyfriend was coming, right?" She smiled. "Oh hey, Keith!" She called to Keith, her green blue eyes fixed on his violet ones. "Have you met James?" She smiled so big it looked like it hurt.

"We've met." He grumbled, getting up going over to the group.

Lance tapped his shoulder and he looked over at him. "Is this the James?" He questioned quietly, which Keith nodded to. Lance huffed a sigh, still whispering to him. "She told me she was single." He stopped for a second, glaring at her and continued. "And she kissed me against my will."

Keith side glanced at him. Against his will? How bad really is Vera?

"Anyways," Vera said. "We've got to get home. Jamie is staying at my place. See you guys!" She paused for a second. And winked at Lance. "See you, Lance." And they walked off hand in hand.

Lance faked a gag next to him. Pidge looked over at him. "What was that all about?" She questioned.

"No idea." Keith said stuffing his hands in his pockets. "But, Shiro and Adam are taking me home today, so I have to go back in."

"Oh! Can I go with? I don't feel like getting on the bus today." Lance asked.

"Uh, I can ask." Keith mumbled, avoiding his eye contact.

"Ok, good." Lance smiled, and started walking up to the school again. "Let's go." He announced.

Keith nodded and followed him back in the school.

They reached the first set of lockers and Lance leaned against one and pulled out his phone, scrolling through it. Keith leaned next to him and watched a few students and teachers pass.

A faint ringing sound filled the silence of the footsteps, and buzzing in his school bag. Lance glanced up from his phone.

Keith unzipped his school bag and took out his phone, a picture of Adam and Shiro appearing on his screen and the words Incoming Call From: Adam. He swiped and held the phone to his ear, hearing a faint rustling in his ear.

"Adam?" Keith asked on the phone.

"Keith, sorry I'm running a little late, but something happened." Adam said worriedly.

"What happened?" Keith questioned pinching is eyebrows together.

"It's Shiro, hold on, I'm almost at the front of the school. Are you there?"

"Yeah, and Lance is with me. He wanted to know if you guys could bring him home." Keith said, glancing over to Lance, finding his eyebrows nit cutely together, confused.

"I'll tell you on the way. And yes, Lance can come. It might take a while though. But, hold on. I see you." And the line cut off.

Keith took the phone off his ear and looked up to see Adam rushing over, a punch of papers and bags stuffed in his hands. "What's wrong, Mr. Wright?" Lance asked, getting up straight after leaning on the locker.

"It's Shiro, now come on, we don't have a lot of time." Adam said, jogging out of the school.

Lance looked at Keith like he had answers, but Keith shrugged his shoulders confusedly.

They both followed Adam out to his silver Camry, piling into the back seat while Adam stuffed all his papers into the passenger seat and starting his car.

After they left the school parking lot, Adam made a right, the opposite direction of home.

"If you don't mind me asking," Lance said. "where are we going?"

Adam sighed. "The hospital, there was an accident." He mumbled.

Keith felt his heart shatter into pieces. "Is he okay?" He asked.

"They don't know yet, that's why we have to get over there quick." Adam said, glancing at them through the mirror. "Whatever happens, I want you to know he's a fighter, and he won't give up."

Keith and Lance nodded, and Keith felt warmth on his hand.

Looking down, there Lance's hand was rested on top of his own, curling around it.

"He's going to be ok, Keith." Lance smiled.

And with that smile, he knew that Lance was right.

Clasping their hands together on the seat, he smiled back at him, Lance picking their hands up and kissing the back of Keith's palm. "It's ok."

And he set his head on Lance's shoulder, Lance's head coming down to his own.

Walking into the hospital could have been better.

Shiro's room number was 448, fourth floor. It took them five and a half minutes to find the room because floor four was so crowded.

By the time they got there, Shiro was hooked up to a machine and a breathing tube in his nose. Only one thing was different, his hair was fully white and..

He was missing an arm.
