The glimmering sun smiled down upon the land as the few rays it gave out started to dissipate to make way for the night, as a flying red ship swiftly crossed the clouds. The white sails of the ship, called the destiny's bounty, flapped and folded as the wind gently and swiftly caressed the fabric as the distant mountainous Kingdom of Shintaro grew smaller and misted over by clouds.

On the red, polished deck of the bounty, 6 color coded ninja and their master watched as the Kingdom of Shintaro disappeared beyond the clouds, fireworks sounding off as the Kingdom celebrated the rise of their new Queen and alliance with the Geckles and Munce who lived beneath the Surface of the peaceful mountain.

Soon, the ninja faced away to ensure their safety in the air from the vicious Dire Bats that called the mountainous region their home. The green one, Lloyd, moved his hands to his hips as he drew a deep breath before speaking "Okay guys." He stopped to turn towards his friends and continued "Take us home."

The old master Wu, who had been steering the airship let go with a small amused huff. "I'd rather not…" he mused. "I'd rather keep going." He said with a confident tone in his voice to the surprise of his students.

After a short moment of shocked silence, it was Nya, the water ninja, who spoke first. "Go where?" Bewilderment evident in her face as she stared at their master.

"Wherever the wind takes us…" said Wu as he lifted his arms to take hold of the helm once again to keep their ship from crashing into the nearby mountain peaks with a bright smile across his wrinkled face.

Behind them, the blue lightning ninja, Jay, walked over to the fire ninja, Kai, before leaning ever so closer to whisper "wow… master Wu definitely got out of his funk!" To which Kai simply replied by rapidly nodding with a smile, glad that their master is finally 'out of his funk'.

To their left, however, their metallic friend clad in the white ninja robes, Zane, spoke up, his hand on his chin "I am not familiar with that idiom... what does it mean?" He asked, looking over to Kai.

With a smile, Kai turned to face his nindroid friend with a reply to his pondering. "it means we're about to go on another adventure buddy." Only to have his sister, Nya, jump onto his back excitedly with a bright smile towards the ice ninja. "Yes it does!" Nya exclaimed enthusiastically.

With the newfound knowledge, the nindroid smiled as he processed the information and quickly said "Oh! Good! By all means then! Wherever the wind takes us" as he quoted his sensei he walked over to the black ninja, Cole -who was watching the sunset a bit farther away from the others-, and placed a hand on his shoulder to join him in viewing the last rays of sun that day, as they soar to a new tomorrow.

Later that night, as the ninja party and laugh away cold of the icy mountain peaks, sensei Wu stood back and watched his students all enjoy their well deserved 'party'. However, between all the laughter and dancing, Wu could not help but to think of all what his team of ninja have accomplished, their adventures together. And needless to say, he still believed, though only slightly, that they no longer needed his help.

Out of the six present ninja, Lloyd had noticed how awfully quiet his uncle had gone. Thinking of a way to get his mind off of things, Lloyd picked up a cup and made his uncle's favourite tea before reaching out the cup of freshly brewed tea for his uncle.

"It's not as good as the teas that you make uncle… but at least it might help clear your mind?" The green ninja smiled thoughtfully towards his teacher and uncle. Wu, taken by surprise by the sudden gesture, graciously took the cup of tea before taking a sip.

"It is just how your father would have made it…" Wu said with a small smile. One which was returned by Lloyd, before being interrupted by the others - specifically the master of lightning, Jay as he walked over and grabbed Lloyd by the neck in a brotherly side hug.

"Come on Lloyd! Sensei Wu! Zane's about to put on the weekend whip and I don't want anyone to miss out!" He said as fast as he could before running towards the portable speaker that they had. With a light chuckle, Wu got up to join the ninja with his young nephew to participate in the private, ongoing festivities on board the Destiny's Bounty.

After a few rounds of karaoke, sensei Wu broke away from the rest of the ninja team to rest up for the night. It had, after all, been a very long day for all of them. And sensei Wu wasn't getting any younger.

With a semi-tired sigh, Wu walked into his almost barren room on the airship and scanned it for any oddities. Finding none, he walked over to the farthest wall where his extra staves were hanged and placed his current staff in its proper hanging spot on the wall before turning towards a small cabinet placed in the corner of the room.

Setting his destination, Wu walked over to the cabinet and reached out to grab a set of incense to burn as he meditated for the night. Once his surroundings were set, he sat down and started to enter a state of inner peace. The same inner peace that can gain access to the insight of the spirit smoke.

He sat there for who-knows-how-long meditating. Nothing seemed to be happening for a while, until flashes of images crossed the old sensei's mind. Images of events he hopes were not true… events that even he was afraid would happen…

The spirit smoke never lies.

Quickly getting up, sensei Wu raced across the bounty causing a commotion that seemed to have woken up the ninja team from their slumber. With confusion written all over their faces, they wondered what could have happened that caused their sensei to get up in the middle of the night and frantically run around.

Wu soon stopped in the hull as he redirected the bounty to head towards the monastery. With beads of sweat strolling down the side of his face, and a tight frown that was concealed by his long white beard.

Soon the ninja - fully dressed and ready for action - joined their sensei in the hull. All of them had the same question swimming around their heads however, it was Cole who spoke up and asked said question. "What's the matter, sensei?"

As soon as Cole had asked, the engines of the bounty roared in response to the throttle being put into overdrive, which caused some of the ninja to lose their balance while the others held onto each other to stay up .

Lloyd, managing to regain his balance first in the high speeds of the bounty, walked over to his uncle with heavy steps in order to keep his balance on the moving ship. "Uncle Wu!! What's the matter?! Why are you in a hurry?!" However, the green ninja was met with only silence as his mentor was focused on driving through the tough terrain.

Unable to get through to their master, the ninja had no other choice but to try and stabilize the bounty and ensure their safety on the high speed flight towards, what they presume, was ninjago.

Soon enough, just past Jamanakai village, the mountain of impossible heights came into view and on top of it lay the monastery of spinjitsu. Home, as some would call it. Upon seeing their home, sensei Wu slowed down significantly causing some of the ninja to lose their balance yet again.

Quickly landing the bounty on the landing that they built when renovating the monastery, Wu immediately jumped off, startling their other nindroid friend who doubles as samurai X, PIXAL.

Hot in pursuit, the ninja plus PIXAL all followed their old friend to wherever he was going. Wu had raced through the halls of the monastery, and soon had reached the plaza outside. The ninja behind him all calling out for him to slow down and to wait for them. However, Wu wouldn't listen. There was only one thing on his mind. One thing that made his heat race and his head spin. And that something was right behind the gates of the Monastery.

The big red gates loomed over anyone who stood in front of them in an intimidating manner. However, Wu was not intimidated by the size of the gates as he swiftly grabbed hold of the handle and opened it. That's when he froze in place, the thing that the spirit smoke had shown him earlier that night.

As the ninja and samurai all gathered around their sensei, they couldn't believe what they were seeing. In front of them was a young man, but not just any young man.

It was Morro, in flesh and blood.
