There was nothing like a nice cup of cappuccino to have a good read- At least, to Hinata.

Konoha Café was not only her favorite quiet place, but it also served the best cappuccinos in town.

There was this good corner, far from the door, with a good lightning, and was placed a perfect distance away from the radio that always plays soothing jazz. AKA, her favorite seat.

"Good morning, Hinata" Shizune greeted as she placed a cup of black coffee down to a customer, Hinata smiled and said "Good morning, Shizune. The usual, please"

"Of course" The black haired woman nodded.

The Hyūga girl sighed in satisfaction, taking in a deep breath, smelling the relaxing aroma of fresh baked breads and newly brewed coffee, and out with the bad air.

Clutching the fifth volume of the book she's been reading, Hinata looked over her shoulder to see if her favorite spot was unoccupied.

But unlike the usual, there was actually someone else there.

Most people hated that corner seat, maybe because it was too dark for their usual activities, which is perfect reading light, and the AC was too close, but personally, Hinata likes wearing long sleeves and warm pants or boots, high quality clothes, too. Not that it's her choice, she only has expensive clothes 'cause they own the company. Anyway, since she's always warmly clothed, she didn't mind.

Her eyes fell in disappointment. There was a pink haired girl with a magazine that she's hiding behind, constantly looking over it and out the wide window of the café, as if she was expecting someone.

She sighed, the girl was pretty, she must be waiting for her date.

She can't just walk over and say 'excuse me, but I usually sit there', it would be rude! At least, she thinks it'd be rude, since it would be the rudest thing she have done in her life.

Sighing in defeat, she looked around the café to look for an empty seat.

It was just a small shop, there were only four two-man tables and two four-man tables, and outside were two four-man tables.

The pinkette occupied her favorite seat, and another couple occupied another. One other table still had an empty cup on it, and she didn't want to sit alone in a four-man table.

Which leaves her no choice, she has to sit in the seat she prefers the least.

The window table.

Not only was it close to the door, so that everytime someone enters, the bell would almost give her a heart attack, but it was also close to the outside world, she could hear the chattering of people passing by and the roaring of cars driving by, and- The reason she didn't like the most, was that there was a four-man table on the other side, right next to her, with only the window separating it, a stranger could sit right next to her.

But Hinata really wanted to read her book with a cup of cappuccino over the jazz music and aroma of the café. So she had no choice.

Sucking it up, Hinata sat on the empty chair and made herself comfortable, crossing one leg over the other, she held back a groan.

The sun was too bright, she didn't want to damage her perfect 20-20 vision eyes.

Another sigh of defeat, she put the book down to the clean table. The only thing that could possibly make this good is if her cappuccino came.

"Here you go, Hinata" Shizune said as she placed her cup down, "I hope you don't mind much that you're sitting there"

"Oh, no" Hinata said with a reassuring smile as she gave Shizune the payment, "I could just move if I want"

With that, the waitress left.

Hinata suddenly felt calm again, seeing that the coffee art this time was a cute little heart.

Last time, it was a bunny.

Hinata giggled, blowing the coffee to an appropriate temperature, careful not to break the heart.

As she raised the cup to her lips, the bell suddenly chimed, making her flinch and stop.

"Yo! Shizune!"

Oh no...

Hinata held her breath as she kept her head bowed, hoping it would be enough to hide from her loud-mouth friend.

Not that she hates Kiba, but you see... Her diaper-buddy wasn't really the best companion if she just wants to relax.

She suddenly heard a gasp and some shuffling. Turning her attention to the corner, she saw the pinkette's cheeks match her hair as she hid behind the magazine.

She thought the girl looked at her, but as Hinata looked out the window, she saw a good-looking man with raven colored hair looking boredly at everything, sitting next to a sleeping black haired one with tied up hair.

In front of them were empty seats, luckily for Hinata, which were next to her.

Then she realized, if the two were sitting next to each other, there must be more coming.

And Kiba doesn't come alone! He's more of a pack person!

Oh no, if Kiba sits next to her, then for sure he'd notice her!

As Kiba loudly exited, she followed his movements through the corner of her eyes.

Luckily enough, Kiba started waving at someone on the other side of the street where she can't see, hearing his loud muffled voice call a person over.

Kiba then sat down on the right seat, leaving a space between him and her.

Hinata suddenly let out a breath that she didn't realize she was holding in. Then suddenly, she froze up again as she saw at the corner of her eye, another man come along and sit next to Kiba, successfully filling the four-man table.

And sitting next to her with only a window keeping them apart.

The man was tall though, enough to block just the right amount of light, perfect for her to read.

Hinata suddenly saw a bright side of having someone sit there, they could block the sunlight for her.

With a soft smile, she finally opened her book.

Shizune came out of the café carrying four different cups of coffees, delivering them to the group outside.

At the corner of her eye, she blushed lightly as she realized that both she and the stranger on the other side both have cappuccinos with matching coffee arts.

Shizune sure could use more coffee arts.

Shaking her head, Hinata decided to continue on with her book.

Reaching out for her cup, she raised it her lips and took a sip.

What she didn't know, was that the man next to her moved in unison.

This caught Kiba's attention.

"Woah, Naruto!" Kiba laughed as he roughly patted his friend's shoulder "You drank your coffee the exact same time as the girl inside!"

"Really?" Naruto asked, catching both Sasuke's and Shikamaru's attentions.

Deciding to embarass his friend more, Kiba knocked on the window and yelled "Yo, lady! My friend here- Hinata?!"

Hinata flinched, turning her attention to her friend.

"K-Kiba, please, I'm-"

No, her attention didn't go to where she intended it to be.

No.

It went to the blonde man next to her, her pale lavender eyes meeting with ocean blue ones.

He stood out amongst the four, maybe it was his hair, or his eyes, or his orange top.

She felt her heart flutter and beat faster as her cheeks started to go warm under his gaze.

The sunlight complimented his tanned skin and emphasized what looks like whisker-like birthmarks on his cheeks.

Even his well-sculted jaw and his perfect nose.

And-

He was simply super handsome.

Realizing she's been staring too long, she whipped her head to back to her book and decided to ignore everything around her.

Leaving Kiba confused.

He shrugged and sat back down, drinking his hot cocoa.

Realizing that his idiotic blonde friend was still staring, elbowed him and said "Stop staring, bro"

The two didn't look at each other the entire time, well- at least not directly, only stealing glimpses from the corner of their eyes.

Hinata's attention wasn't fully on her book, but also partially on this 'Naruto' guy.

And Naruto's attention wasn't fully on his friends, too, but partially on this 'Hinata' girl, too.

The next day came fast, and Hinata returned to the café.

She noticed the pink haired girl was still there. So she sat at the window-seat.

To be honest? She was half expecting that the guy from yesterday would come and sit there again.

Setting her book down to the table, she waited patiently. Both for her coffee and the blonde.

Luckily enough for her, Naruto did come.

This time, he brought along a different set of friends.

She could recognize the ravenette from yesterday, looks to her that this 'Sasuke' fellow is Naruto's bestfriend and the pinkette's reason for coming.

There was a brunette uh... chubby, guy, and a dark haired brunette guy that looked almost similar as Sasuke.

Surely enough, Naruto sat in the same spot he did as yesterday.

Hinata couldn't help but blush. She ignored her feelings and opened her book under the shade of the handsome man beside her.

It became the highlight of her day to sit there for breakfast and have a cappuccino.

Hinata would always sit at the window-seat from then on, even if that pinkette didn't show up.

The window-seat was now her favorite spot.

And, just like an unspoken promise, Naruto would always come there too and sit at his usual spot.

He didn't always brings some friends along. Even if he was there alone, he'd still sit in that four-man seat, playing games on his phone while having cappuccino

Sometimes, even, Hinata would purposely not bring along a book so that she could just enjoy his semi-presence.

He'd also tried to smile and wave at her, but she'd always shy away after giving him a small smile in return.

It became sorta like a habit to come there to sit right next to each other with an invisible barrier dividing them.

"Good morning, Hinata!" Shizune cheered with a sly smile "Your favorite seat is unoccupied, you go on ahead"

Surely enough, she wasn't talking about the corner since there was an old, blonde woman in twin tails sitting there.

Hinata only nodded with red cheeks. She's pretty sure that Shizune knows about her secret crush by now.

Taking her seat, Hinata placed her book down on the table, waiting for Naruto and the coffee to come.

As Shizune placed her coffee down, Hinata smiled, expecting Naruto to come anytime soon.

He always came only moments after her coffee was served.

The bell rang, not surprising her anymore, hearing Shizune welcome the customer.

She suddenly felt an arm sling across her shoulders, and she smiled brightly knowing exactly who it was.

"Kiba!" She cheered, Kiba laughed and said "Hey-ho, Hinata! You still up for the park later?"

"Of course" The bluenette nodded "I wouldn't miss it for the world"

The brunette grinned and said "Alrighty then! Gotta go! I'm gonna bother Shino next and see if he's still going, too! Bye!"

"Bye" Hinata said with hints of laughter in her voice.

Shaking her head, Hinata returned her attention to her coffee.

Minutes passed, and she was already halfway done.

Hinata's face fell as she realized Naruto wasn't coming today.

She sighed, finally finishing her cappuccino.

She grabbed her book and left the shop along with a generous tip.

Those minutes waiting for Naruto turned into days, and those days turned into a week.

Hinata sighed as she rested her cheek on her palm.

She didn't even bring a book along, either because Naruto wouldn't come, or she'd prefer just sitting right next to him.

The Hyūga thanked and paid Shizune as the black haired woman gave her her usual.

The bluenette closed her eyes and started thinking stuff through, deciding it was the best thing to do while waiting for the coffee to cool down.

"Hey"

That voice... Hinata recognizes that voice!

She only heard it muffled before, but she was pretty sure it's-

"You're Hinata, right?"

There he was, Naruto, standing beside her, talking to her, smiling at her.

Hinata blushed and nodded shyly, "A-And you're Naruto?"

"Sure am!" He proudly said, making her giggle.

He then motioned to the seat in front of her and asked "Can I sit here?"

"S-Sure!" Hinata agreed, almost sounding too happy.

"Kiba said he's your friend" He said as he took as he sat down, she nodded and said "Y-Yes, h-he's my friend"

He suddenly looked at her in the eyes.

Blue meets lavender again.

And with hopeful eyes, he asked again, "And just friends, right?"

"Just friends" Hinata giggled. Why was he so worried if Kiba and her were just friends?

Naruto suddenly let out a breath of relief and said rather loudly with his bright grin, "That's great, ya'know!"

The two laughed amongst each other.

"So, you come here often?" Naruto asked, Hinata looked at him weirdly and said "Y-You sit outside e-everytime you're here e-except for now..."

"You noticed?" He laughed, embarassed, as he scratched his cheek, she smiled and said "O-Of course, y-you're always next to me, i-it's hard not to notice"

"Man, you must have thought I was a creep" He sighed, she quickly shook her head and said "N-No! I-I didn't mind at all. M-Makes me feel not lonely..."

Shizune came by and gave Naruto his cappuccino, also his usual.

The bluenette girl peeked over his coffee in curiosity, wanting to know what coffee art he had.

She blushed when she saw that it was a heart, then she looked at hers and noticed hers was a heart too.

Just like the first time they sat next to each other.

But then, Hinata realized she haven't drank hers yet.

She then grabbed her cup and lifted it up, drinking from her cup.

Naruto then noticed, Kiba was right, they did drink in unison.

Hinata looked up and said "Y-You just got your coffee and you drank it right away. I-isn't it hot?"

"You should see me with a freshly served ramen!" Naruto said while laughing, making Hinata wonder what he means.

"You know what?" He said "Maybe I could take you to Ichiraku's sometime, they serve the best ramen"

"I-I'd love that..!" Hinata said in a rather too excited tone, making him cheer happily "Alright! Awesome! Maybe tomorrow?"

"S-Sure" She nodded, he then nervously scratched the back of his neck and asked "So it's a date?"

Hinata looked at him in surprise, her cheeks burning red.

"Y-Yeah, a d-date"
