Emma's POV:

Running after the author when he takes his chance to escape, right when I almost think I've caught up to him, he disappears. After all of that, all the searching we did to find this guy, and he just disappears into thin air. No thank you. No showing his gratitude, nothing. My chance to give Regina her happy ending is gone, but most of all, my chance to find out the whole truth and what everyone's been hiding from me is gone…I need to find out the truth.

Knowing what I have to do to finally get my answers, no matter the consequence, I make my way to the bug and to Gold's cabin.

Gold POV:

"Gold?"

"Gold?! I know you can hear me, I know you're here."

I walk out finally, making my presence known to the savior.

"What can I do for you Dearie?"

"I need to know the truth."

"The truth about what?"

"I don't know! That's why I came to you, they told me that they were hiding the truth from me, that they wanted to stop lying to me. But even still they didn't tell me the whole truth!"

"Who is they?"

"My parents!"

"And what do you expect me to do for you?"

"Just give me something to help me find out what everyone is hiding from me."

"Miss Swan you know all magic comes with a price," I magically poof a potion into my hand.

"Yes, I know, and I'm willing to pay that price."

I smirk, "This potion will give you the means to have anyone tell you what they're hiding."

"Ok. Give it to me." I gleefully hand the potion to Emma and she snatches it out of my clenched hands.

"How much does this potion cost?"

"Whatever do you mean Miss Swan?" I ask, playing the insipid old fool.

"You know, the cost, the deal. What do you want Gold?"

"Oh, this one is on the house."

"Why?"

You will soon come to find out Dearie."

"Will this hurt Henry?"

"No."

"Regina? I-"

"Do you want the potion or not Emma? You know I have better things to do than answer these silly questions."

"Yes. Yes, I want it."

"Then leave before I change my mind and my momentary goodwill slips away."

I think she doesn't want me to give me the chance to change my mind, as I watch her little blonde head scurry away from the cabin.

Watching the savior leave the cabin, the potion gripped tight in her hands, I feel the smirk that was already spread across my face widen. She should know better by now than to take anything from me for free, I don't do free deeds out of the goodness of my blackened heart. Hell, I don't do good deeds at all, everything I do has my best interest in mind and this certainly does. With this potion I'm sure the savior will take, this will finally allow the villains to get their happy endings. Miss Swan will be so focused on trying to save herself, trying to reverse the curse, she won't be able to save anyone else. Which means if there is nothing for the savior to save because she is "distracted," then there is no savior. And if there is no savior then there will be no heroes here to always save the day and the villains can finally win. I will finally be able to get Belle back. Even if that doesn't work, Emma's "distraction" will probably end up killing Regina. Serves her right for choosing the wrong side. That will surely darken the savior's pure heart.

"Did she take the potion?"

"That she did Cruella, that she did."

Emma's POV:

Standing outside Regina's door I knock as hard as I can while calling out her name to answer the door. I don't care who is with her, whether it be the queens of darkness or Henry. I have to know if she knew, before I take this potion, I to need to know.

"Regina? Regina open the door! Regina!"

The door opens and I push my way past her.

"Well why you don't let yourself in." Not responding to her sarcasm, I make my way further into the house.

"Emma?" I hear my name, knowing the voice belongs to Henry and look up to see him standing at the top of the stairs.

"Henry go back to your room."

"Emma what's going on, why were you-"

"Henry I said go back to your room!"

I really don't have time for his questions right now.

"Emma!" Regina looks at Emma in shock as Emma begins to make her way towards her office.

"Henry please, just go back to you room. Clearly something is troubling your mother"

Henry nods in response doing as he is told.

Regina's POV:

I trail after Emma into my office and close the door behind me.

"What the hell was that Emma?!"

"Did you know?"

"What are you talking about Emma?"

I see the clear rage in her eyes and I know she is referring to the secret Charming and Snow asked me to keep. Damn them!

"Don't play dumb with me Regina! Did you fucking know?"

"Yes," I say softly.

"Why would you lie? Why would you lie to me? You know how much I hate lying, that I find it hard to trust people. I asked them several times if they were keeping anything from me and they lied to me. And all this time you knew!"

"Emma-"

"Of all people Regina, I didn't expect you to lie to me. I thought we were friends, I thought we were partners, that we were a team, but clearly I've just been deceiving myself."

"No, Emma, we still are partners. Friends-"

"No Regina! You lied to me, you know I hate it and you did just that. I told you about Lilly, how she lied to me, yet you go and do the exact same thing!"

"Emma, just calm down."

"Don't tell me to fucking calm down Regina, you know they didn't even tell me the whole truth," Emma scoffs humorlessly.

I shiver at her empty laugh, never wanting to hear it again, to be the cause of her hurt. Her rage.

"They are still holding something back, I can feel it and I need to know what that something is."

"Emma," I plead, moving toward her as I see the frantic look in her eyes, she's going to do something stupid, I can feel it. I just need to get her to calm down.

"Stay back!"

"Emma please try and understand-"

Emma pulls a blood red potion out of her pocket.

"What is that?" Looking at whatever the potion, is I know it will do more harm than good.

"Why did you lie to me Regina?" Emma asked, looking at the potion, holding it up between us.

"...Why did you lie to me?"

"Your parents were just trying to protect you."

"That's not what I asked you Regina, but it doesn't matter, I know who told you to lie to me and I'm going to find out why. This. This is going to help me find the truth. You know, it's funny, I would have never thought you'd keep a secret Snow White told you. After all, she didn't keep yours and look where that got you…" Emma spits out maliciously.

"Emma give me the potion," I demand, ignoring her words, ignoring the fact that her words hurt more than they should.

I watch her as she opens the small vial and I lift my hand to will the bottle to me with my magic. Before I can do so, I'm thrown to the other side of the room. I only lift my head up in time to see her down the blood-like liquid before the bottle drops from her hands to the ground, and her body tumbles after it.

"Emma!"

My heart skips a beat as I watch her body painfully collide with the floor. Getting up, I quickly make my way to the fallen savior.

"Emma?"

"Emma?" I say more frantically as I begin to tap her cheeks, gently willing her to wake up.

"Emma wake up!"

I slap her face harder as my worry increases.

"Wake. Up."

"Come on Emma this isn't funny."

I look at her chest and I begin to panic. Why isn't her chest moving? I bring my quivering hands up to the side of her neck in search of a pulse, any movement, but find nothing. Refusing to give up, I continue trying to find it, searching religiously everywhere. Her neck, her wrist, but there is nothing, not even the faintest flicker of life.

"No, please. This can't be happening!" I place both hands on her sternum and begin to pump her chest before bringing my mouth down to her own. I breathe air into her still lungs as I continue my frantic efforts.

"Please!" I beg, repeating the process, praying, pleading, that she will just open her eyes, her beautiful, blue-green eyes.

"Breath Miss Swan!" I slap at her face again.

"Breath!" Screaming, I grab hold of her jacket shaking her, but she doesn't respond.

"Don't you dare die on me Miss Swan! Don't. You. Fucking. Dare!" I start another round of CPR but Emma continues on unresponsive. I can't help but let out a piercing cry before collapsing onto Emma in tears, resting my head on Emma's chest, my fingers curl into red fabric, leaving half-moon dents in the leather.

"I-I need you…You…You can't. You can't just leave me Emma, not you too. I-I need you! Please! Just. Just wake up," I whimper out.

"Mom?" I hear Henry call from the other side of the door, he can't see Emma like this.

"H-Henry don't. Don't come in."

"But Mom I know something's wrong, I heard you scream!"

The door begins to creak open but I use my magic to force it shut.

"Henry don't argue with me!"

"But mom-"

"Henry! Henry just go. Go to your grandparents. A-and soon as you get there…make your way to the hospital."

"But-"

"Henry do as you're told!"

I hear him rush to the front door, and not waiting for another sign that he has done as I instructed him, I transport both Emma and myself to the hospital.

"I need help! Someone help me!" I shout as thick tears run down my face and doctors rush to Emma's aid.

"What happened?"

"I don't know, she drank this," My hand clench tighter around the empty bottle between my white fingers, "Then she collapsed. She's not breathing! Help her and stop asking me stupid questions!"

Placing Emma onto a hospital bed, the doctor flashes a light into Emma's blank eyes.

"You're going to be fine," I promise grabbing hold of Emma's arm.

"No response, she's not breathing. Begin chest compressions and set charge to 300 CCs. Madam Mayor please wait here."

"I'm not waiting here!"

Several doctors try to pull me back and I fight them off with all my might. I scream at them to let me go but there's no use. I use my magic to throw them all out of the way without a second thought and trail after the other doctors who have Emma. Watching them as they continue CPR on Emma, as machines try to pump life back into her motionless body, watching her jerk skyward with every electric jolt they send through to her chest. An image I wish I could erase…The doctors stop their actions and I glance over to the machine signalizing there is no signs of life…I feel the rage run through my veins.

"Why did you stop? Try again!"

"Mayor-"

"Try again!"

"Madam Mayor she's gone, I'm sorry. We've done all we can."

"Get out. Get out! All of you!"

I shut the door behind the doctors and collapse to the floor on my knees. Tears leak down my blotchy face as my body begins to shake uncontrollably. Unable to breathe properly, the sound of that awful machine steals every breath I gasp in. God what am I going to tell Henry? He's already lost one parent but to now lose two…How will he feel when he finds out I could have prevented this? He will hate me! I will lose him too, the only thing in life I care dearly about, the only thing left in my life that I love will be gone. The only piece of Emma left and I'm going to lose him. I launch a fire ball across the room in anger, screaming into my hands.

The room is silent with nothing but my breathing and the machine reminding me of the savior's death, reminding me of one of the doctors' words, "Time of death Friday, April 4th, 7 P.M." Just repeating those words to myself causes me to hyperventilate. But just then, rising from the depths of silence, there is a sound, a change in the beeping of the machine that has already begun to haunt me. A beep and I snap my head up in disbelief, to double check that my mind isn't playing sick tricks on me, but then several beeps follow after.

Author's Note:

I hope you enjoyed this chapter.

Regina's reaction will eventually explained as to why she reacted so vividly. Also the next chapter will be Emma waking up and will also continue where my prologue left off. Bye x.
