CAP 06: I WANT TO BE ... THE WIND
SONG : El viento – ISKANDER
ELLIOT'S POV:
We walk to the captain's office and I let her enter first; I take a bunch of air and then close the door behind us.
"Can I know why you were late?" Cragen asks with an evident annoying tone.
"There was a misunderstanding." Liv immediately says. Maybe she have already been thinking for good excuses, I know I've been.
"There were? Explain me detective." The captain says looking at both of us with that look that a father has when talking with his misbehave kids.
"When you call me I was getting out of the shower and I noticed Elliot's missed call on my cell phone's record. I guess he call me while I was in the shower so I couldn't answer him but I call him back after hanging up with you but he didn't answer me…"
"I had already left for her." I hurry to help her. "But, well, here we are captain." He looks at us with that doubtful look but he doesn't ask us more.
"It won't happen again." Liv says trying to calm him down. I believe it will happen again whenever we decide to stay in bed making love instead of coming to work and, at least for me, that would be every single day. In fact I would stay by her side every fucking second of forever; but I can't, even when we are most of the time together I can't help but feel empty whenever we say goodbye at the end of the day, when I'm alone in the car ride home I wonder what would it feel like to been able to go home with her, to be with her forever.
"Go back to work." He didn't have to ask twice; we hurry out of his office and walk back to our desks to take our detectives roles.
"Well where do we start." I wonder looking for Munch's assistance.
"We have no victim alive, so no to interview."
"Of course." I say following him.
"But we still have Dana." Olivia says joining us. "She survived, perhaps she can give us something." Until now is the best we could do, so Liv and I took our coats and left the station to head to Dana's.
I watch her walk to the car and get sure no one is around us. I wait till she gets to the door and I approach her quickly; I turn her on her hills and kiss her delicious lips. She is frozen at first but soon she is separating her lips a little so I take the opportunity to intensify the kiss. I feel her hand on my neck and I grab her waist pushing her against the car.
"Mm ... Elliot." She breaks the kiss. "Not here." She says giving me a scolding look. "Come on, we have a work to do." I look at her giving her a smile making her flush. She looks so beautiful when her cheeks turn red betraying her. Her eyes move around the surroundings a little nervous.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. There's no one." I open the door to her and wait for her to go inside but she moves quickly and gives me a little kiss before getting into the car.
"Tricky." I tell her closing the door careful not to hurt her. I walk around the car and climb into the driver's seat, turn on the engine and, before I let the car move, I look at her finding her confident smile. "Tricky Benson."
We found Dana who tell us her attack once again in tears, then we went to forensic officiate where Melinda compare Dana's photos with the attacked found body; It matched with each other everything indicates that this is the same rapist, but we don't know which way to go now so we went back to the station without much more information.
" We went to the crime lab. There were a couple of tire tracks nearby which we thought were from a bicycle but they have confirmed that it was a wagon..." Fin says letting us know what they have found.
"I want a group of police looking for that wagon." Cragen says. "I know it's late but we can't wait for tomorrow. Benson and Stabler will work on identifying the woman in the picture; compare it with our main information data." So that's how we will stay all night looking at the computer's screen while they seek in the park.

We are alone, we can hear the rain still falling outside. We took a couple of hours comparing pictures but still can't find any match. I stop for a bit and listen as she keeps typing. I look up and observe her; she has that concentrated expression that I like so much, a little wrinkle in her forehead and her chocolate eyes forced on the monitor shining with the light of it. Occasionally her tongue moisten her lips and she sighs not finding what she wants, but she doesn't give up and keeps searching never losing her breath; her chest rising slowly and going calmly down again.
I think it's not news that I'm a jealous man; every man who approached her gave me a terrible anger. I can't deny it myself that it has been always something else, but of course I disguised it as 'friend's jealousy'. But now I can confess that I am very jealous of something that is not a man, in fact it is not even human. I would love to be that something which is always at her side, that of which she can't hide, that hugs her all the time, plays with her hair, feels her breathing, always sees her, dry her tears, when the rain falls gets her all wet without letting her do a thing about it, be one of her sights. I would love to be free to go through her body and make her skin crawl with just a touch, be the pretext for stay curled up in her bed at home instead of going out with men... I want to be the wind.
"What's wrong?" her voice drives me to reality.
"uh? why?"
"You've been watching me nearly twenty minutes. Do I have something on my face?" She asks me.
"No... well…" I get up from my place and I approached her. I bent down to see her close in the eye. "You have two beautiful eyes, and a beautiful little nose... and this beautiful pair of lips." I approach to kiss her but she stops me putting her hand on my chest.
"Not here." She whispers and her cheeks turn red once again.
"Just one, there's no one around." I insist.
"But quickly." She says smiling. I hasten to gather our lips and take her face between my hands so she can't separate. I love the softness of her kisses. She doesn't stop me and just keeps the pace a few seconds. We parted and I let my forehead pressed to hers as we open our eyes.
"I love you." I whisper to her.
"I love you more." She says and kisses me again.
"I want to take you home and make love to you a thousand times." I whisper breaking the kiss again.
"Don't tell me those things. Look." She stretches her arms and makes me feel her skin. I is totally bristling. "That's what you accomplish with just one touch." She says smiling.
"That's cute ... you know…" I settle in place to keep our eyes at the same level thought she is still a little higher than me. "I was thinking something while watching you."
"What were you thinking?"
"I want to be the wind. I want to provoke this on you all the time. I want to be always by your side."
"The wind..." She lets out a silence laugh. "Ell, just for the record, you have always caused this feeling in my Elliot... this and many more." She says looking down kind of ashamed.
"Well... But I wasn't with you always. When Sonia... you shouldn't have been alone." Just one day has passed since Sonia's funeral, things went wrong and I was away from Liv. She looks down and I see how she takes a deep breath and swallows hard.
"She shouldn't have been alone." She says with a cut voice.
"Hey hey... It's not your fault." I take her cheeks in my hands. "Please stop blaming yourself... please." I tell her drying the tears coming down of her eyes. I don't need to be the wind in order to do that, to hug her.
"I'm fine." She says the same phrase I've heard a million times. "You are my wind, Elliot." I smile at her words.
"Do you know what else I would love to be able to do that the wind do?" I ask her searching for her eyes.
"What?" she follows me.
"Give you life." She stays quiet a few seconds before looking up again.
"The wind dies giving us life." She explains her thoughts.
"No, it becomes something else, it doesn't die."
"You know, Ell? I feel alive beside you."
