Archer vs Avengers

Chapter 5

Unlimited Blade Works part 2

Ironman and Thor rushed him with all their might, Ironman with his repulsors and Thor with a lightning charged hammer, but he did something that neither of them expected, he used his projection magic and made pair of broadswords and used them to fly upwards like a surfboard. Using them, he flew up and out of the way of them at the last second and hovered above them for a moment, and in the moment that they used to stop and turn to face him, he had already flipped in the air and was able to get in position to heel drop both of them on the top of their heads. His next move was to then spin to avoid a spear heading his way aiming for his chest that was thrown by Captain America, he used that momentum to swing the right broadsword to cleave Ironman's head off, only to miss at the last second thanks to him bending backwards to avoid the sword. He balanced himself out in enough time to avoid a hammer to the top of his head and countered with Kanshou and struck away the god with Bakuya before flipping backwards while in the air to avoid the repulsor blast that came from Ironman with the hope of knocking him off balance. All Archer did to avoid it was dispel the broadswords and freefall until a random spear shot forth and he used that to catch himself with one arm before swinging and firing an arrow at the incoming Mjolnir to redirect it and make it miss him as he landed on the ground with crouch.

"I'm getting sick of you Emiya, it's time we end this," Ironman stated as coolly as he could while scanning the area for what he was looking for, and he found it, he flew off in order to pick it up, and the Avengers glared at what it was, it was Gae Bolg, the spear that injured Hulk severely. Ironman thought he could use one of Archer's own weapons against him, just like Captain America and Black Widow had been doing, except they weren't using something that injured the Hulk, but he thought it was their best shot at defeating the man, so he flew for the man. He made for a powerful thrust aimed for Archer's midsection, the red clad man spun around the long weapon while dissipating his bow before grabbing the spear and flip Ironman over himself, he landed on his back with a loud clank, but still had a hold on the spear. Ironman got up as fast as he could with the spear in hand and aimed for another thrust, this time it was caught and held in place by Archer, which is where Captain America came in by throwing his shield aimed for Archer's head, but the man dropped to the ground and let it fly past him and hit the metal man. When that happened, Archer spun while on the ground and basically did a spin-a-rooney dance move before handspringing up and kicking Ironman's face with a steel toed boot before turning and angling himself in a good position to give a reinforced punch to the head again. Amazing Ironman still had a hold of the spear, so when Archer made the final move by summoning Kanshou and moving to make a deep cut in the man's armor, it was blocked by the spear and the suit's artificial intelligence processing at a fast rate and controlling the suit.

The force of the impact was still enough to send the tin can away quite a ways, but thanks to Ironman, the other two not occupied Avengers had enough time to find some things that could help as well, for Thor that was Archer's projected Mjolnir, Captain America went for Caladbolg. Captain America was now armed with not only his nearly indestructible shield, but also a sword of legend construct, his stance was that of the shield in front of him while hunched over a bit and the sword held with the tip pointing to Archer, his concentration was fixed solely on Archer. Thor had a hold of two Mjolnirs, and he could tell that his was starting to adapt to its original owner, this was going to make things a bit more difficult seeing as how Archer is going to have to fight a duel wielding Mjolnir Thor and a sword and shield wielding Captain America. Now Ironman was fully recovered and flew to stand in the middle with Gae Bolg at the ready, making three legendary weapons in the hands of the Avengers, and yet, Archer still had the bigger advantage, because he knew how to use weapons effectively, and only Thor was adept at using hammers.

Then they heard the sound of chains rattling, the distinct sound of metal being crushed and broken before it stopped, the Avengers had smirks on their faces at knowing who it was, but Archer remained passive as he turned his head to confirm his and the Avenger's suspicions. The Hulk was free, and the worst thing possible has come to pass for Archer, Hulk was silent, he wasn't screaming, and he wasn't charging in, he held a face filled with rage, but it was a silent rage, the absolute worst kind of rage, and rage fueled Hulk.

"Well, it looks like you have nowhere to run to Archer, and no way to escape with the Hulk free, I'd advise you to give up if the Hulk doesn't kill you first," Ironman stated as he held Gae Bolg at the ready, his stance was off but he might have the AI making a loose stance program.

"You can't win this Archer, we'll bring you to justice for killing our comrades, one way or another," Captain America stated as he held Caladbolg in a ready position by his shield and Thor began to spin his two hammers for when the battle resumed, they must be waiting for the Hulk.

Hulk did something unlike himself though, he did something very unlike himself, he calmly walked over to the side, to his left to be exact, and grabbed a sword, not just any sword though, he grabbed Berserker's blade, then he began charging silently, intent to deal a powerful slash. The only reason Archer avoided such a gruesome fate was thanks to his agility, he knew his swords would be useless against the strength of such a beast when it swung, so he was able to duck to avoid being killed before finishing his mission. As soon as he righted himself though, Hulk was ready with another slash, this time Archer had to step to the left to avoid death, then right when the green beast repeated the process on the other side, then bending backwards to avoid the swipe heading to take his own head. Archer used the force from bending backwards to backflip and get as far away from Hulk as possible, but Hulk wasn't going to let that happen, he chased after him while the other avengers could only watch their rampaging friend attack the faker who tried to run away. Thankfully, Hulk was big and strong, but unlike Berserker, Hulk wasn't fast or nimble enough to attack to his full potential, so Archer only needed to try and keep his distance while making sure to dodge any attack swung his way, should be easy for himself to do, at least it should have been.

"Have at thee," Thor yelled as he flew over to the battle with his own newly acclimated weapons and swung the left Mjolnir to take the head of the faker who blocked it by bringing both Kanshou and Bakuya up to block the swing at the handle while keeping an eye on the other hammer. It was a good thing he did that because the next instant the hammer in his right hand was brought up for an uppercut causing Archer to bend backwards to avoid it just as Hulk came in as well and swiped to the left to try and cleave the counter guardian in two at the hip with his blade.

As quick as he could, Archer brought out the Rho Aias and let it block the swing while Thor brought his hammers together for a large blast of lightning that Archer's Aias was easily blocking, yet when the Hulk kept pounding away at the shield with his blade, it was beginning to crack up. Even worse news was that Captain America and Ironman was charging in, and they weren't flanking him since that would let him have the advantage, they saw that now and instead charged at him side-by-side, Captain America thrust out Caladbolg and Ironman thrust out Gae Bolg. Archer had only enough time to dodge the one that would be troublesome, the red spear, Caladbolg still got him in the leg when he jumped away, it only grazed him, but it was still enough to draw blood, he got a good distance away but it was time to regroup and determine how to proceed.

"Trace on," Archer muttered his chant and brought forth a dagger, it wasn't anything too fancy, just a simple dagger one might find in the medieval ages of knights and kings, then he said the name of such a weapon, "Carnwennan," and he disappeared into the shadows of a random sword.

"NO," the Avengers left shouted as they ran up to the sword and Ironman pulled it out of the ground, the shadow was gone, and so was their killer, "DAMMIT," Ironman yelled out as he just threw the sword clear across the blade littered ground, it landed with a clank that echoed to them.

Captain America wanted to collapse to his knees at letting a killer of two of his comrades die in front of him, but he had to stay strong for his team, "we need to fall back, regroup with what we can, make sure that Widow is okay and not in any danger," he sounded out as calmly as he could.

"GRRRRRRAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH," the Hulk roared into the air finally showing his furry, he turned around and marched back towards where widow was still unconscious and picked her up with one hand and being careful of the sword he still had in his grip, "anyone know of a way outa here?"

Thor rose his right Mjolnir and yelled out, "HEIMDALL, PORTAL," only for none to appear, not even a flicker of light shown through the orange and mechanical gear filled sky, "this should not be possible, very few places in the universe can hold off a Bifrost portal, what magic is this?"

"We'll find a way out," Captain America assured as he watched Ironman walk forward to the corps of Falcon, "I think we should either burry them, or find some way to preserve them until we find a way out of here," referring to the bodies of both Falcon and Hawkeye, they needed a proper burial.

"I was thinking the same thing, but also," Ironman began and only paused when he began going through the tech that Falcon had on him, "I hate to do this to them, but we need to scavenge what we can to possibly build our way out of here, maybe destabilize the dimensions or something."

Captain America was about to object before Hulk beat him to speaking first, "he's right Cap, we need to scavenge what we can from those not using them, I hate it too, but we need to get out of here and stop that guy where his weapons can't help him," he told the old man who looked down.

"They are right Captain," Thor came over and put a hand on his shoulder, "I do not like this any more than you do, but we must escape," Ironman was already taking tech off of Falcon and so Captain America went to Hawkeye to do the same, find something useful for the moment.

This also let them get a quick reprieve from battle and rest up, until that Archer came back to attack them again, until then the only thing they could do was take what they could from the corpses of their friends and comrades before finding a way home, and beat that killing archer. Yet, no tech they scavenged was useful, even for the genius that was Tony Stark, it was useless as no tech they had was worth it other than a few small upgrades, somehow they all found it might just be useless against this merciless killing machine, he was brutal in his methods. Yet the reprieve from battle was a welcome as it also gave them a chance to grieve a bit at the loss of their friends, two men have died at the hands of Archer, and Black Widow is only now waking up and recovering herself, it wasn't right for this to happen, it just wasn't right. Captain America was kneeling by Falcon when they all noticed that the blades around them were all dissolving, even those that he and Ironman were still holding Hulk had long since dropped the blade he picked up, and the only exception to this was Thor, the copy of his hammer stayed.

"I'll be the first to admit that you're giving me more trouble than what I first believed you capable of doing," Archer's voice rung out around the Avengers as if he was everywhere all at once, "but if you believe that I'm through with you," the voice got a harsh chill with it now, "you're wrong." Nobody could react in time, mainly because it happened so fast, a yellow spear 1.4 meters in length shot out of the ground, and without missing a single instance, stabbed into Hulk's back and out his front, blood sprouting from the blow and once it was ripped out, it flew to the hands of Archer.

He was walking calmly through the field from their north with the yellow spear in his left hand and a longer two meter long red spear in his right hand, "hold the line while Hulk recovers," Black Widow called out as she began firing at him with her newly recovered gauntlets, it did little good.

"That'll be a long time," Archer's Rho Aias was up at this point and taking all the hits instead of himself, "this spear is known as Gae Buidhe, any injury from the spear will never heal unless the owner of the spear is killed or the spear destroyed," the spear faded into mana particles. "So that you can't destroy said spear," Archer charged at them with the other red spear in hand, aiming for a simple thrust at Thor, who only barely avoided the blow thanks to Captain America slamming down with his shield blocking Archer's way, the spear bounced off of the shield.

"We won't let you," Captain America stated and made to charge in and flip him, but he just jumped out of the way and used the spear to block incoming repulsor rays from Ironman, Black Widow already moving in to flank him and shoot his back, but was blocked by claymores.

Thor charged with both hammers electrified, the left was about to knock Archer's head off, but he leaned back to avoid the blow while smirking to himself, as the god of thunder raised his other hammer to slam down, the guardian thrust the spear out and you could feel everyone stop. "This is the spear Gae Dearg, it's power allows me to bypass any magic, including magic armor, such as the magic armor you summon with your lightning, or the hammer you wield," Archer jumped away to observe his work for a moment, and let the Avengers see as well.

Thor stood there, unable to do anything as a spear was stabbed through front and out his back, missing his stomach but getting a spot that clearly knocked the wind out of him, he was going to be out of commission for a while, as we Hulk considering the beast was struggling to get up. Black Widow, Captain America, and Ironman all screamed with rage and charged at him with guns blazing, sadly beginning to see that their hope, their very life, was about to be extinguished by not a good guy, nor a bad guy, but a single tempered, steel, ready to kill sword.

AN: I know it's been a while on this story, I also know that the chapters I put out on the story isn't very long, however I started this fic a while back and since then I've grown and hope that the style gets better in the future still. I thank all of you for your criticism, your thoughts, and your opinions, just wanted to remind you that this is only for fun, cause let's be honest here, do you really think that Archer can take on all the Avengers, alone at that. This is just a fic to spark anyone else that might have a similar idea, only to do it better, still gonna complete it though, hopefully.
