I gave a weak smile, "Thanks..." I reached back and pulled my hood over my hair but she stopped me.
"Keep it down, you look better like that."
"Thanks... but I can barely see." I pulled the hood down, hiding my face.
"Oh... sorry." She said.
I let out a soft chuckle. "It's alright."
After that we finished the last of the tests, getting to know more about each others powers. Until the end of the day where we said goodbye. "I hope to see you in class." She smiled at me.
"So do I." I said back as Naomasa picked me up.
"Make a friend?" He asked as I closed the door.
"Aye, I did." I smiled under my hood.
Chapter 3: Letter from UA and Meeting a Timid Boy
I walked along the beach front a few days after the exam early in the morning. 'Naomasa said that this beach was a mess until someone started cleaning it up...' I thought to myself. I heard the sound of footsteps on the sand as I turned to only get bowled over. "Ow!" I complained as I rubbed sand out of my eyes.
"I'm sorry!" A high pitch voice answered, "I wasn't paying atten... tion..." The boy said as I got the sand out of my eyes. He had green hair, freckles, soft features and bright green eyes. He wore a bright green track suit as he was on top of me... why was my chest so heavy? I looked down, and even though I was pretty much a plank I would have turned bright red if I could, but my cold blood couldn't do that. "I'm so sorry!" he practically leaped off of me.
I cleared my throat trying to hide my embarrassment. "It's nothing... not like you had anything to grab anyways..." I tried to diffuse this but that only made him redder. His arms flailed in the air wildly as he did a very bad job of trying to apologize. "Stop... I can't understand you..." I stood up dusting myself off.
He did the same. "So...um... I guess I should ask you your name..." He said.
'By Talos... this boy is so... meek.' I thought to my self. "My name is Amavera Essori. Not from Japan."
"I'm Izuku Midoriya... I don't think I've seen you before?" He asked.
"No, I'm pretty new to the area, I attended the UA Recommended students exam a few days ago." I said as we walked together for a few feet.
"That's amazing. You are sure to get in, I failed to get a single point." He said. "There isn't anyway I'm getting in."
"Well, there is other hero schools, you don't need the best schooling to succeed." I said to him. "Just because you failed once, it doesn't mean stop." I said.
His eye seem to widen at that... before watering up. "T-thank you. Your the second person to actually believe in me..."
I couldn't help but smile. "Midoriya was it?" I asked to which he nodded. "A mentor of mine, a old man by the man of Kodlak once said to me, that famous men a women come to him to learn, while others seek him out to gain their fame." It wasn't his exact quote.
"KodlaK? Was he a hero?" Midoriya said.
"A old one, illness prevented him from fighting for many years. Kodlak is one of my greatest inspirations. He is known as The Harbinger, training a small group of heroes back home called the Companions. He and a few of the higher ranking members took me in after I... lost my family due to a villain." We found a bench to sit on. "They trained me in codes of honor and bravery in battle. Think of a group of knights, only drunker, and Viking like." While not the full truth it wasn't far off. Jorrvasker was my first true home in Skyrim.
"Your crying..." He said as I wiped my face.
"I just miss everyone. Vilkas, Farkas, Aela... Kodlak... and Skor... Skor was one of the older members. He died a few months ago on a mission with Aela agaisnt a criminal Group called the Silver Hand." I remembered that mission, I had been on it as it was my introduction to the Circle even if my strain of Vampirism made me immune to Lycanthropy. "Aela was really torn up about it... she would never admit it, but she and Skor were in love. But the to were just too stoic to admit it."
"That's horrible... but heroes always put their lives in danger." Midoriya said. "I was inspired by All Might, the number one hero. I grew up watching him fight off evil, and for the longest time I thought I was quirkless."
I chuckled. "For the longest time, I also didn't think I had powers. When mine manifested, it wasn't... a pleasant experience. I don't have a heroic quirk..." I rubbed a hand on my neck, hiding the bite mark on my neck. "I would give my life if it meant that day never happened." I said under my breath so that he couldn't hear it.
He nodded. "Not everyone is lucky wit their power, some can even force people to villainy."
'Force people to villainy... I've heard all about that before.' I could almost feel... it leering over me, even now after so long, after everything I had done. The feel of blood soaking my skin as I screamed for help. "Aye..."
"Aye?" He asked.
"Oh... just something I picked up from Vilkas..." I said, trying to excuse it away. At that moment my cell phone went off, which I was horrible at using. I took it out and looked at it. "Oh, my host for while I'm in Japan is wondering where I am." I stood up. "I should get back."
Izuku nodded. "Take care..." We went our separate ways.
'I wonder... will I ever see him again?' I asked myself as I sent a message to Naomasa. 'I'm on my way.'
It had been two weeks since I had finished the exam, and I as I sat in my room playing with a coin on the desk, rolling the coin over the surface. "... Beware beware for the Dragonborn comes..." I sang to my self.
The door to the room opened and Naomasa walked in. "I got your letter from UA." He handed it to me. I looked at the wax sealed envelope before breaking the seal and taking out the letter.
"Amavera Essori, due to you obvious lack of knowledge with our technology, I, Principle Nezu, has chosen to send you a regular letter to inform you of your exam results. Your clear experience helped you with the physical tests and your homeschooling has brought you up too speed on the subjects of regular study. Enclosed is a list of the supplies needed for the school year." I read the letter out loud. Inside was several sheets of paper. "Please send your weapons ahead with Naomasa, and do send in the details for your hero costume."
I set them down before I picked up my sword, the mirror finish marred by scratches from battle. 'How is everyone back home?' I asked myself. I just sighed to myself as I sheathed the blade. The clack of the blade and scabbard brining me back to Jorrvasker.
'I'll find a way back home...'
Hello there. sorry for the delay on this one.
