In a hidden bar stood two men, one shrouded in purple mist and shadows, dressed in a fine shirt and vest, the other a ragged young man, dismembered hands attached to his body as tentacles wrapped around his now translucent body. "Tomura!" the man shrouded man called out dropping and breaking a glass.
Tomura dropped the book and fell to the ground. "Bring... me to my master. He need to see this in person." He stood up clutching the book. "What I just learned... we can rule more then one world... and have the power to slay a thousand All Mights. We hold the cheat codes to the multiverse."
Chapter 9: The USJ Incident
I paced across the kitchen. "Were sorry that..." Nezu said.
"It isn't your fault, the black books are artifacts of Hermeaous Mora. If he wants someone to find them, they will find them." I said as I looked at the cases on the table. "It doesn't matter if it takes thousands of years, they will always find a way to draw more knowledge to the Deadric Prince. If a villain did infiltrate the school, then the best we can hope is that they are driven to madness. If they do encounter Miraak... I know he has been growing in power in the realm of Knowledge he'll try to use them to further his own plans."
I sat down. "Amavera... what should we do with these? Magic is still outside our area of expertise."
I tried to think of what we could do. "We can't keep them where villains could find them. So long as they are on a mortal plane... mortal plane... take me to somewhere secluded. I think I have a way to contact my world with a message and send the remainder of the black books to two people that could watch over them for near eternity." I grabbed my hooded jacket. "I need to try something."
Aizawa and Naomasa grabbed the case with the Black Books. We ran out to the car throwing the case in the trunk.
"Amavera what is you plan?" Nezu asked me.
"I have a friend who maybe able to help us." I explained. "He's powerful, and large, and I trust him."
We spent two hours driving deep into the wooded mountains away from the city secluded from any who may see us. Slamming the door I stood in front f the vehicle. "Amavera, who are you calling? How are you calling them?"
"Durnehviir, a dragon ally." I looked back at them. "You... may want to look as unappetizing as possible."
Nezu smiled. "Do what you have too."
I took in my breath, the power of the thu'um roiling in my throat. "Dur Neh Viir!" The purple energy from the shout made the trees shudder, for a second the world seemed to hold still, then the air seemed to freeze. Sparks of energy from the soul cairn started to fizzle then turn into flames forming slimy rotten flesh and scales, spins, thorns and a crown of horns. The mighty dragon crushed trees as he shifted, shaking his body. He lifted his might head as he unleashed purple flames to the sky.
"Drem yol lok, Qahnaarin. Nonvul Briinah." He bowed his head to allow to rest a hand on his horns.
"Drem yol lok, Durnehviir. Long has it been, my friend."
He shook his head as a throaty chuckle emanated from deep in him. "Indeed Dovahkin. Are these joor your vahlokke? Gaurdians?" He looked over the pro heroes and the detective. "Why have you called me? I can tell by the smell that this is not Tamriel. Nor any known plane of Oblivion."
"Durnehviir. I need you carry a message to Serana and Valerica. I know Valerica still enters the soul cairn for soul husks for her potions. I ask that you take the black books of Hermeaous Mora with you to give them." I said as I looked into the giant eyeball. "Tell them that I am in no danger at the moment. Has either of them brought news of the companions? What of Lydia?"
He shook his head. "They don't share such things with me. But I will try to bring of them to you, Serena and Lydia are working day and night to locate you. My fron, I will not funt, fail, you." He scooped up the case in his mouth and dissipated. "Till our next grah."
I nodded. "Well, those should be out of harms way, for now."
I sat in class, tapping my pencil on the desk as I waited. The news had featured that the roar of Durnehviir had been heard for miles. That and that All Might was spending the morning stopping various small crimes. But I had a feeling that I was being watched by... something. Aizawa walked into the class room, holding a small piles of papers. "Okay class, we are doing something special today." He said. "We are taking you too a off campus location for rescue train with me, All Might and one other hero. So change into your hero costumes if you want too, but remember that since you are still new too them, they may hinder your ability to do what is needed of you. I'll meet you at the bus."
I stood up. "All right, you heard him, let's get geared up." Soon we were all waiting out side, Izuku had the mask to his costume down, and I held a binder over my head to block the sun light from irritating my eyes.
"Amavera, you seem distracted." I looked at Momo who had asked me.
"Yaoyorozu, I'm fine. Just tired. I was up late." I said.
She nodded. "You do have a quirk better suited for night time. It makes sense that the day won't agree with you."
I shrugged my shoulders. "You have no idea." I rubbed my eye. When I looked back at her she held out an umbrella to me, her skin sparkling as she finished making the object.
I took it and opened it over me, holding it so that the sunlight didn't hit my face. "Thank you, Yaoyorozu." I checked on all the students, I turned as the bus pulled up "1-A! Grab your gear and get ready to board the bus." I said as I waited for them all to board the bus. I was the last to get on, closing the umbrella as I did so. The seats were arranged a few rows facing forward, a set of seats facing each other and the rest once again faced the front of the bus. I sat next to Momo across from Kirishima.
We sat in silence for a few seconds. "So Amavera, ribbit, what exactly can your quirk do?" the frog like Asui asked me.
"Well, drinking blood to heal, necromancy, control over fire, ice and lightning, I can drain a person's life energy to heal myself, enhanced strength and speed at night, limited invisibility, ice really doesn't affect me, I can turn into a bat." I explained.
"Youhavequalitiesofemiter,mutant,transformationquirks..." Midoriya started to mumble causing a few people around him to shuffle away.
"NERD SHUT UP!" Bakugo shouted at him, and the way Izuku flinched like he was expecting to get hit. I glared daggers at the blonde.
'I'll have to keep an eye on that one.' "Ahem, what about your quirks?" I asked my classmates.
"Ribbit, well I can do just about anything a frog can do. So I guess you can say our similar in concept."
'Yeah... not really.' I smiled.
"Well, Amavera, you and Midoriya got lucky with your quirks, yours is so cool and flashy, and Midoriya has strength that reminds me of All Might." Kirishima said. "All I got is my hardening quirk."
"What, no way your quirk is amazing!" Midoriya said. "W-wait All Might?" He had a stutter to his voice when he mentioned the number one hero.
"Don't be ridiculous Kirishima. We saw that he hurts himself when he uses his quirk." Kaminari said. "Out of all pf us, I would say that Todoroki, Essori, Bakugo and Midoriya have the best chance of becoming top tier heroes. But if I had to pick a top contender for becoming the next All Might out of us Essori has us beat flat out."
"Like that half pint brat could be the next number one hero! THAT'S GOING TO BE ME!"
I sighed as I I turned and stood up to look at Bakugo. "Half pint brat? That really the best insult you could come up you walking murder case? You would be shot at by the authorities the moment you showed up on the scene of a crime. And you clearly abuse your power, if my mentor Kodlak were to hear your goal he would laugh in your face, shove a warhammer up your milk drinking ass to try and dig your head out from it with the blunt weapon. Drag you out to the training yard and beat you senseless with wooden training blade."
"WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME BITCH!" He shot up to his feet towering over me. "DO YOU HAVE ANY..."
"You are not half as strong as you think you are. And there is always someone that can and will knock the teeth out of people like you, you scream about killing others, but you have never even seen a dead body. And what would you do when you do? What if you are faced with the need to kill a villain, do you truly believe that you have the guts to do it? Or are you a half baked cocksure bastard that was never told no as a child? Your actions back where I live would have seen you thrown in a mental ward, so sit your sweaty ass down or do we need a repeat of the last few times?"
"Enough you two." Aizawa called back. "I don't want any fighting on the bus."
I glared up at him for a moment longer before taking my seat. 'Damn fool.' I looked at the other students, some giving me concerned looks.
"Well. Amavera knows how to talk smack." Kaminari smiled.
I have a halfhearted chuckle. "That was tame compared to some that I have heard." I laughed it off.
We continued to have some small talk, a few of the students also taking shots at Bakugo, but I was more concerned about Izuku. He kept on flinching every time Bakugo shouted. Soon the bus slowed down to a stop in front of a large building. As we got off the bus I spotted a hero standing in front of the building on large steps. They wore a large white suit with a large helmet with a blacked out dome, white eyes seeming to glow from inside. their gloves looked to have metal caps.
"That's Thirteen, the Space hero." Izuku said, sparkles in his eyes. "She's a famous rescue hero."
Aizawa walked up to the woman, and exchanged a few words, Thirteen holding up three fingers, before Aizawa sighed to himself. "All right students, there has been a change of plans, due to All Might having a delay he won't be joining us today. Come gather round Thirteen. She is going to explain what you are doing today."
I gathered with the other students. "Welcome children. I am Thirteen, and this is my facility, a highly advanced rescue training center branch of UA. It is called the Unforeseen Simulation Joint. Or the USJ! Now follow me inside. Hero work isn't all fighting villains, and flashing camera's. You could be responding to natural disasters. And you would be using your quirk in close proximity to civilians. So you need fine control of your powers as many of you could easily kill without meaning too. In fact I can see that more then a few of you are clearly marketing yourself as combat heroes." She looked at me, Bakugo, and Kirishima. "I would say those are the ones most needing in that department."
I just crossed my arms. 'I can control myself.'
Inside was the largest single room I had ever seen, massive light fixtures illuminated the room, there were paths separating the different areas. Flood zone, landslide, a forest, a city on fire, storm and mountains. I was amazed at the sheer size of the building. "Inside here you will learn everything you need to know. Quirks like mine, Black hole can easily kill. That's why we want to control the situation as much as we can."
I looked around before a chanting... chanting? I looked down at the central Plaza, a purple mist expanding. Slowly it expanded before many people exited from it, extreme mutation quirks changing their body. But they were all chanting something I remembered all too well."
"Here in his shrine. That they have forgotten. Here do we toil. That we might remember. By night we reclaim. What by day was stolen. Far from ourselves. He grows ever near to us. Our eyes once were blinded. Now through him do we see. Our hands once were idle. Now through them does he speak. And when the world shall listen. And when the world shall see. And when the world remembers. That world shall cease to be." Their collective voices ringing through the building. The chant of Miraak's cult.
Last to exit through the gate was a blue haired man with hands on his head, face arms and chest. A massive creature with a bird like mouth with razor shark teeth, and eyes set in a exposed brain, red scared ebony skin and ragged ripped pants. And two fish like creatures with slimy skin, spiked gills and powerful arms, ragged insect like chiton armor and loincloths, lurkers of Hermeaous Mora's realm. Deadra.
There was only one way they could have gotten them.
"Villains!" Izuku shouted.
"Students get behind me!" Thirteen shouted as the purple mist formed into the the rough shape of a man with glowing golden eyes.
"Run." Aizawa said but when we turned around, floating there were the squid faces, cloth covered seekers. Their thin arms snapped their fingers and concussive waves brought many of the students to their knees. I lunged drawing my blade. In a single slash I cut off one arm before spinning around and plunging the blade into the creature's heart, and it melted off my blade as I threw up a ward blocking the attack from the second one. It created a illusion of it's self, but I wasn't fool from my repeated encounters with these deadra. I slashed deep into it's chest before a lightning bolt rent a hole through it. I turned to the door, but the mist man stood there.
"So, you are the one he wants." He said.
Hey there.
