Midoriya ran up to me as I returned to my human form. "Amavera!" he threw his arms around me before the door to the USJ exploded open. We all turned to it.
"Damn villains. Attacking these students... It's over?" He looked around. We heard a scream from over in the mountain area. I turned into a bat and flew over as fast as I could, a villain was holding Kaminari hostage, electricity sparking in his hands. I returned to human form slamming my metal clad fist into his temple. He dropped to his knees as I held my palm up to him. "It's over." A explosion of flames knocked him out. I turned to the other students. "Momo, Jirou, are you hurt?"
"No..." They said as Kaminari walked in front of us, drool coming out of his mouth as he held up two thumbs up, "Don't worry, he just over used his quirk."
I sighed before my stomach rolled over. "Oh... god I drank too much." I sat down The other two made sure Sparky didn't walk off a cliff. 'So... Miraak is still after me.' I furrowed my brow. 'Well, I know how he is going to attack now, through this group of villains.'
Chapter 11: A Day Off
The police, heroes and paramedics rounded up the half delirious villains. I sat against a tree wiping blood off my sword with a wet cloth. My damaged armor by my side. "Amavera." I looked up at Mina as I washed my blade. "Are you... okay?"
"I'm fine, villains aren't anything new to me." I said. "With a quirk like mine, it isn't a surprise that at every turn they try to recruit or kidnap me."
"What about the whole thing about what Midoriya said? About someone named Miraak putting this attempt after you?" She sat next to me.
"Miraak is a villain who wants to use my powers. He is part of the reason I'm going to UA and not anywhere in my home country. Seems no where is safe from him. But I believe he isn't behind the League of Villains, not the leader." I sheathed my blade. "He's caused hundreds of deaths and uses his power to turn people into mindless cultists. The mantra that the villains were chanting was chanting, that is his mantra."
"You seem to know him quite well, how is that?" She asked.
I sighed. "It's... complicated. He isn't the villain that killed my family, but he has been attacking friends of mine."
"I knew it, you were going vigilante. Don't worry your secret is safe with me." She whispered. "Oh your so cool! An undercover girl facing off against a lord of the underworld!"
I shook my head. "You promise?" I looked up at the pink skinned teen, her black and gold eyes smiling back.
"I promise." She picked me up in a hug. I swear her arms shouldn't have been that comforting.
"T-thank you." I said as she put me down, I picked up the wrecked armor and threw it over my shoulder as I held it by a leather strap. I walked with her to the rest of the class.
Tsu was the first to ask me about what had happened. "Amavera, what was that transformation?"
"It's something that I only use in life or death situations. It's my Vampire lord form, and yes I know I'm a half naked woman with wings in that form." I said as I glared at Mineta who was drooling. "It takes most of my attribute and exemplifies them to a extreme. If I were to bite a normal human in that form they would be dead." 'Or turned.'
"So you were holding back." Bakugo said as he ground his teeth. "Tsk, I knew it."
"Class rep Amavera." Aizawa called me over. I walked out of earshot from all the other students. "How are you feeling?" I looked at the man as the Paramedics wheeled away Thirteen, her back had been torn open by her own quirk when she had fought the mist villain.
"Well, aside for the blood I drank making my stomach curdle, I'm fine." I looked at the Nomu creature. It's skeletal frame loaded onto a steel stretcher. "That thing was once human."
He nodded. "I'll let the police know. Looks like you can't escape these villains after all."
I shook my head. "I'm surprised he made his move this soon. He is planning something else."
Shigaraki sat in the putrid realm Apocrypha, he sat across the poison ink stained desk from the tentacled masked Miraak, his robes stained from the thousands of years he has spent in this dimension. "Good. The mission was a success Tomura."
"A success? We failed to capture the girl or kill All Might." He slammed his fist on the desk. "She's a cheater! A dirty hacker!"
"No, now the school will be focused on protecting their fine student. I need you to gather the weakest most innocent souls you can find. A thousand of them, but make sure they have no connection to the school, can't have them asking questions. and I'll see to it that you and your league have the same powers as her. You see Amavera Essori is a daughter of Cold Harbor, a pure Vampire of Molag Bal. When you have gathered the innocents, come to me and I will tell you the next step."
The hand wearing man looked at the first dragonborn. "You give us you word?"
Miraak laughed. "The world of knowledge you have given to Hermeaous Mora in exchange for my freedom bought more then my word Tomura. He no longer has any hold over me because of you and your master. All for One will be restored to his full might and more, once I am free. The three of of us will rule your world and Mundas. We will be God Kings Tomura. I'm so glad to have met you." He put a hand on the much younger man's shoulder. "You were the key to the destruction of all that is good. Gol Hah." The two word shout passed through Tomura. Bending his will to Miraak's.
I sat in my room looking at my phone, the news of the event yesterday was exploding. 'Student saves her class and teacher before All Might arrived on scene.' I scrolled to the next article, 'Heroine in training! Amavera Essori! The next All Might?' A ding went off as I received a message. It was from Mina.
'Ama! Want to go shopping since we have the day off?' It asked.
Since I had much of the gold coins converted to this countries currency I had plenty of my own money, but shopping I had rarely done, even back on Nirn. 'Are you sure we should do that so soon?'
Her reply came soon after. 'Oh they wouldn't something like that in public after losing so many minions. And after all I'll have you so I'm sure we'll be safe.' at the end of the message was a winking yellow face and a heart.
'Okay, where do you want to meet? I'm not the best with the city layout.' I sent back as I got up to get changed and showered.
'In front of UA. I'll see you there cutie.' I all but threw the phone down in embarrassment.
I let the cold water wash over me as I washed my hair. It wasn't nearly as cold as the mountain streams I would bath in back in Skyrim, but it was nice. I changed into a pair of trousers tucked into mid calf brown leather boots, and for a top I choose a loose white dress shirt tucked into my pants with a suit vest open over it. I braided my hair back and tied it off with a length of string.
"Naomasa I'm going to meet up with a friend at UA. Can you drop me off?" I asked as I walked into the living room as he was reading over a pile of reports from the USJ.
"Well, I know you aren't lying about that." He sighed as he stood up. "Message where you are if anything happens, and don't try to be a hero. I'll make sure a Hero gets there as fast as possible."
I nodded as made sure I had everything I needed, wallet and phone. "Only reason I would get involved is if Miraak somehow brought a dragon here." I said as I sat in the passenger seat. "If I absolutely needed to fight I will only use enough force to hold them back."
He sighed. "Let's go. Just... enjoy yourself." He drove me to UA. In front of the gate he dropped me off waiting there was Mina, she wore a short top, white shorts and sneakers.
"Essori!" She smiled as I smiled.
"Please. Just call me Amavera." I said as I walked with her.
"Oh, in that case call me Mina." She smiled. "So Ama, tell me, what is your home like?"
I smiled. "It's nice, simple, and cold. A lot of the time I would go looking around in old ruins up high in the mountains for things left behind long ago, or I would find a cave deep in the forest." I looked down, "That was before my thirteenth birthday, a villain kidnapped me and my twin sister..."
"Oh... you don't have to tell me." Mina said. "I didn't mean to dredge up bad memories."
"No... I just feel like I have to get this off my shoulders. And, well you've been so kind to me, I know I can trust you. And I know every one will be asking about... the scars soon enough." I clenched my fists. "My and sister had no powers up until then, everyone thought we were Quirkless." Half truth, half lie. "When we woke up we had been chained to the wall of a crypt for some quirk cult. At the head of the chamber below us was the leader and his followers around a cauldron filled with blood. On the floor were too many bodies to count. They started to chant to a god named Molag Bal."
We sat on a bench inside of UA's walls. "That's horrible... I never thought of..." She looked sick. "But then Heroes came for you right?"
"No... as that vile stench of blood filled my senses I prayed that anyone would stop this... but no as that thing arose from the blood..." I clenched my eyes shut. "It... I can't." I hid my face in my hands, trying to hold back the tears. "Helsa didn't survive that thing making me watch as it... then it turned to me... and did the same, that's where the scars came from." She held me to her shoulder. "I was found by the local heroes hours later comatose. But when I woke up the experience had activated my quirk... which includes blood starved states where I lose all sense of myself... I didn't want to harm anyone."
That's why.
