"And so the tongues freed us from Alduin's rage,
Gave the gift of the voice, ushered in a new age.
And if Alduin's eternal, then eternity's done,
For his story is over and the dragons... Are gone."
I looked to the crowd, these were the people I had to defend now. My eyes fell on Mina. And I may have found something more. "Thank you." I bowed as they clapped. I got off the stage for the next person as Mina hugged me.
"That was so beautiful." She looked me in eye. "Y-your crying?"
"Oh?" I wiped the tears from my face. "I just miss home." I said as she pulled me back in.
Chapter 15: The Final Preparations
I pulled my hands away from Midoriya, "You are starting to reign in your power, you managed to not shatter your fingers that time." The green haired boy nodded. "And my healing power is moderately improved."
He sighed. "Thanks... Essori." He stood up. "I do have one question."
I held my head, and sighed. "No, I don't want to talk about..."
"Those words, when you were fighting against the villains in the USJ. I saw that they did stuff. At first I thought they were battle cries... but something about them..." He sat as he scratched his chin.
"That's all they were." I shook my head. "That's enough." And stood up. "See you tomorrow."
"O-oh. Okay." He scrambled to his feet. "T-thank you Essori."
"Midoriya, at the sports festival, understand this. We will be enemies. I'm going to show you and the rest of the class what it means to fight. What someone who fought for their life will do to prove a point." I glared at him. "You maybe stronger, but I'm going to win."
"N-no. I promised someone close to me that I'll win, and I won't let them down." He steeled his voice even for a moment.
"Then you understand I won't be holding back then." I said.
He gulped. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
I nodded and walked out of the training room to get showered and dressed. Tomorrow, tomorrow is the Sports festival. I hadn't requested any of my support gear, but I wouldn't need it. The freezing water cascaded down my back as I washed my hair. I rinsed off and standing in the changing room was Ibara Shiozaki of class 1-B. "Essori." She said.
"Shiozaki." I replied. "I'm guessing you wanted to talk?"
"Who are you? Really?" She asked, "Something about you... it doesn't sit right with me."
"How so?" I asked the vine haired girl. "I'd say I've been an outstanding student."
"I've heard rumors about you... that you drink..." She started as she held out my water bottle. "Human blood."
I sighed. "We don't get to chose our powers, or their draw backs. It is acquired legally from the Red Cross, if that is what you are asking."
"The scar of a bite mark on the neck of one of your classmates." She said next.
"Ah Bakugo, Yeah it happened during our first training session, after he blew me up twice." I said as I gestured for her to give me the bottle.
"And you having a connection to a villain." She glared at me. "They needed a way to know of what the schedule is to target you specifically. You didn't hesitate to kill the Nomu before you could have known that they weren't human."
"Ladies, do we have a problem?" A sultry voice cut in, Midnight walking into the changing room. Ibara handed me my bottle and I went to get changed. The teacher stopped me. "You doing alright Amavera?" She asked me as Shiozaki left. "Hound Dog told the staff you had suffered a serious traumatic event as a child." The dominatrix teacher sat down on the bench. "If you want to talk to me..."
"I'll be fine. Just... losing my whole family because of villains. I wish I could just shut out the pain, but..." I shook my head.
Midnight nodded. "Heroes can't save anyone, and there was no way for anyone could have expected you to save them back then. Don't forget them, but remember them and use their memory as your drive to protect others. So that no one else goes through the same thing." She stood up. "Your strong but still young. Don't let your past control you."
The next day we were walking towards the sports stadium. "Amavera, don't take the matches to far." Naomasa said. "I and several pro heroes will be on security." There were stands all over the grounds, and the stadium stood taller then most buildings in Skyrim. Today was the day. The sports festival. "Just do your best." He said as I went inside to meet up with my class.
I walked through the halls, thinking of what these events could entail. Be they races, combat or otherwise. I made my way to the locker room marked for 1-A, as Class rep I had to be there first and make sure the rest of the class were ready. I had to make sure everyone was in their best shape for the festival. I had requested one support item, my gauntlets. I picked up the steel gloves and pulled them on, the fur keeping the leather and iron latches from pinching my skin. The metal was a fair bit thicker then normal gauntlets, I had requested that detail specially, the extra material there for extra protection and should I need to use Alteration magic.
Soon my classmates were arriving, and even from the changing room we could hear the gathering crowd, thousands, tens of thousands had come to watch us. To see what we had to show for future. "Amavera, I'm so excited!" Mina danced on the spot as drank from my blood bottle, the crimson fluid sloshing inside the metal canister.
"You are like a child." I said with a smile.
"You are one to talk." The acid pink girl said as she crossed her arms.
"You got me there." We laughed as I ran a hand through my raven black hair, "Best one wins."
She smiled with a nod. "Midoriya, Essori." Todoroki called me and Midoriya out.
"T-Todoroki?" Midoriya asked as I stood by the green haired boy.
"Aye?" I asked.
The scared boy looked between me and Midoriya as the class watched the three of us. "There is something special about you two. All Might took an interest in you Midoriya and you Essori, you are... peculiar. I will beat you in the sports festival."
"B-beat us?"
"Hi fein aan kein. Yuvon. Ruz naal Talos hi lost Gein." I smirked as I slipped into Dovah. "You want a war. Fine."
"E-Essori l-let's..." Midoriya started.
"OH HELL NO! THESE TWO BRATS! I'M THE BEST IN THIS CLASS! YOU WILL REGRET NOT...!" Bakugo started to yell making Midoriya step back from the blonde. "THE BLOOD SUCKER IS ONE THING BUT THAT WORTHLESS DEKU!"
"Bakugo. That is enough." I stepped in front of the blonde boy, my red and yellow eyes glaring into his crimson. "I thought I had shown you back in the battle trial. You aren't all that."
"Listen to me, you half pint blood sucking extra. I don't care what you think, I won that fight. I was standing and you were on the ground, if you..." Bakugo leaned in close. "Try to take this from me you sniveling brat..."
"You'll what, scream that you'll kill me?" I stayed my ground as I clenched my fist.
"Hey! Hey! Before you two kill the rest of us as collateral damage, let's take a breath and calm down." Hanta stepped between me and Bakugo.
Before Bakugo could curse him out. The announcement for the students to head out to the field for the opening ceremony.
In a dark ally a teenage boy was running for his life as a creature with a exposed brain chased after him. "HELP! HELP!" He shouted as he turned the corner only for green energy to blast through him knocking him unconscious, the grey nomu picked up it's pray as a purple mist appeared and stepped into it. Beyond the gate way was a large room, seekers reffering to texts from within their filthy ink stained clothes. The Nomu dragged the boy by the arm and he was thrown into a cage where more people cowered in fear.
All of them Quirkless.
"Good Nomu, we are making great progress on this fetch quest. Miraak's servants are preparing the end goal for us." Shigaraki smiled at the people. "Don't be afraid, your sacrifice will allow a new world order to take over." His smile went past the hand face mask he wore, his pale messy blue hair hung around his head as blood dripped from his hands.
