I wake up to the feeling of a rough tiny sand paper on my nose and the smell of pure cat breath... I open my eyes and my small fluffy alarm clock is perched on my chest purring happily. "Morning toby..." I say sleepily with a tired smile, he lets out a small powerful meow. I lightly pet his cheeks and he began forcing his face into my hand to feel more touch. "Want some canned food buddy?" I usually put down dry when I leave, but he was hungry early this morning.

Toby's eyes lit up and a excited meow follwed. He zoomed out of the room with a little circle of excitement. I get up and set it up for him as he weaved through my legs. After I give it to him I began the start of my usual routine while he's happily purring away. I get dressed in a warmer set of clothes because of the cooler weather and go out to exercise. During my run I felt myself wandering in my head until someone zooms passed me and threw me out of my thoughts. It was a darker haired woman, who looked like she was throwing off a plethora of worry during her morning exercise. I didn't know who she was, but she felt like someone of importance.

In the middle of my run it started to rain. I am quick to head home, but i still managed to get soaked to the bone. "Guess I got an early start on my shower..." I mumble in annoyance, tossing my wet tracksuit in the laundry. I walk to the bathroom and get in the shower, welcoming the hot water on my now cold skin. It slightly stings but the feeling subsides as I started to wash my body.

In the middle of it i hear a knock on my door, I rinse off and curse under my breath. "Who the hell?" I say raising a brow, it's 5:30 in the morning, the crack of dawn, and I have a visitor? This is a very uncommon occurrence... "Hold on!" I yell, I hear my door open, it is definitely someone I know because they knew where my spare key was...

"Hey Dr. Sexy!" I hear a male voice shout and I groan in annoyance. It was the telltale voice of my brother Kevin aka Butch. "What the fuck are you doing here so early?" I shout from the bathroom as I get out and dry off, putting on my clothes for the day. "My roommate is a twat and a half so I thought I'd come visit you!" Butch shouts before I open the door to speak face to face with him.

"Any word from Boom?" Butch asked me about our youngest brother and I shook my head in response. " Bronsen? Last I heard, he was doing a science experiment that blew up his basement... He's fine, but he's now probably going to be renovating for awhile..." I hated that my brothers picked jobs that caused so much damage to themselves and others. "That's why we nicknamed him Boomer..." Butch smirks. "You're no better, that daredevli stunt shit is gonna put you in my hospital operating room again..." I say sternly, I hated that he did that. Bronsen/Boomer was a biochemist and Butch was a Motorcycle stuntman named The Incarcerated Madman. Both usually came to me needing to get patched up.

"Hey, this titanium shoulder has a few more years on it..." He rolls his eyes, knocking on his left shoulder to add emphasis to his point. "Gladis retired last year... So your chances of getting it replaced are slimmed down..." I say and he looked at me in shock, that was the surgeon who gave him that shoulder with me. Yes I was operating on my own brother, but i guess that's the let downs of the trade right? He gave me a now playful look, "That sucks ass, she was a badass old lady!" Butch laughs, punching my arm hard, making me grunt and glare. "Hands off the merchandise, These arms help me save people you idiot... One problem and it's game over..." I glare harder and rub my arm to reinstate blood flow. He knows that if i have one issue with my hands then I can have the possibly of severing arteries.

"Oh yeah, Mr hot shot surgeon I forgot about that..." Butch smirks again, but is soon distracted by my cat. "Yo! Toby! What's up you adorable fuckin cat!" Butch says, kneeling to pet him. I think for a minute, I wanted to tell him about yesterday, I just hoped he'd actually listen. "I got an intriguing patient yesterday..." I say and that caught his attention. "You gonna spill?" He asked in intrigue, still petting Toby. "Her name is June... She's different than other patients I've had..." I shrugged, moving to get ready for work. "She hot?" He asked suggestively, making me glare at him again. "Yes because I'm gonna hit on a cancer patient Butch..." I say sarcastically. "Oh shit... Is she okay man?" He had the decency to sound concerned. "Yeah, she's doing alright... I've just never had a patient who is such a mix of difficult and nice..." I kinda smiled. We head into the kitchen so I can make coffee.

"What do you mean by difficult?" Butch laughs. "She started grating me about my own health and my less than healthy work ethic..." I can't help but chuckle. "Yeah someone has to, you're all work and no play... You need to get laid dammit!" Butch shouts dramatically before, looking through my cupboards and stealing some food. I rolled my eyes at him, "Nobody can handle the schedule of a doctor, the ones who stay only want my paycheck and most one night stands aren't really a clean opportunity anymore... So I'm good on the getting laid train..." I'm just as sarcastic as before. It was Butch's turn to roll his eyes now.

"You're no fun anymore..." He said, messily eating a sandwich. "Yes because chlamydia is a hell of a time..." I shake my head at him. "Details..." Butch chuckles. "Now back to what i was trying to tell you, the reason she was doing that was because she ws trying to be a doctor at one point... I understand why she couldn't..." I frown. "Yeah, I get it... Randy Rapids had to retire because he's got Leukemia real bad..." He nods. At least he understood, Butch is usually really laid back.

"Yeah, I've never had a patient question about surgical procedures before... She's a treat to talk to though... She's just stubborn in some ways..." I think about her, maybe I should stop by before I start my shift. Butch and I exit my place after I grab my coffee and my breakfast, he placed my cat's food down for me. "Come to my show tonight?" Butch asked me and I raised a brow. "I don't really want to watch you hurt yourself..." I shake my head. "I'll be alright, I've practiced this one for a couple months and I got the landing down..." He shrugged. "I guess having me there isn't a bad idea, I'm the only one who knows the medical history of your sorry ass..." I sigh. "There's my big brother!" He said happily, giving me a noogie and then walked down the driveway.

"God dammit!" I glare fixing my hair. "Go easy on yourself today!" He yells as he puts his helmet on and gets on his motorcycle. "Yeah, I'll try..." I chuckle, I really did love my brothers. "Bye!" He yells as he starts it and drives off. I sigh heavily and get in my car, the rain slowed down so I'm only slightly wet. I wonder how he can ride that motorcycle in this weather.

I pull out of the driveway and start my drive to work, when I get there everyone is frantic.

"Dr. Samson!" Olivia yells to me, this catchs me off guard because she's so shy. "What's wrong Peters?" I ask, trying to banlance my briefcase as I walk to her quickly. "There was a bus crash on the main road closer to here, we need you to evaluate!" She pointed me to where I needed to be and I nod. Looks like I'll be seeing June far later than I anticipated...

I quickly scrub in and head into the trauma section of the hospital, it's a mess... The waiting room is full and every room is full of someone in need. I'm dragged into the room of a man who has a bleeding chest wound and I am quick in taking charge, while three of our newest interns are frantically fumbling behind me. "You three! Stop that!" I say with a stern voice and they go quiet, the neurologist, Dr. Casey, shakes his head at them. I look to them now, "I need the suture kit and a pair of steady hands! Now!" I swear these interns needed a backbone. One of the females stepped forward to help me and the other two help the neurologist.

I tried to stop the bleeding before he lost too much, I was successful and thankfully took my hands away before a random scream made me jump. It was a little girl who found her way into the room. "Daddy?" The little girl's big brown eyes shone in worry. I'm quick to remove my bloody gloves and crouched down to her level. "Hey there, this room is no place for you sweetheart..." I say and she whimpered. I motion for one of the interns and the one who helped me walked over. "Take this girl somewhere safe please, I gotta free up this room for more patients..." I say and she nods before scooping up the girl and carrying her away. We send the current patient to recover and another is wheeled in with a cut up his abdomen, it's not too deep and can easily be fixed. I need no help as i put on new gloves and wash up, then I stitched him right up, then I send him for an MRI to make sure there was no internal damage.

It looked like everyone got the situation under control so I take a moment to catch my bearings a bit. My breather is short lived because I had my regular surgical procedures to get back to. The MRI came out clear for the guy I stitched up so I went into my first set of stent placements, the most common surgery I get, and then I removed a ruptured Appendix. I was covered in sweat by the time I finally got a break.

I splashed my face with water and relish in the cooling feel it gives me. After I finally can function, I take my chance to see how June/Blossom was doing. When I get there she was eating a much bigger breakfast than yesterday. "Good morning there Blossom..." I say with a smile and I see her face lit up. "Morning Dr. Brick... You look like you've had a morning..." She giggled and she was right. "Trauma cases as soon as I got here..." I chuckle and she nods. "That's why it took you awhile..." She had a cheeky smile. "I also had 5 stent placements and a bursted Appendix to remove..." I say and she perks up. "Sounds interesting..." Her cheeks turned a healthy shade of pink.

"You're doing better I see..." I say and she nods in agreement. "I see you put me on the list for a portable oxygen tank so I can keep my mobility..." She sounded thankful. "Your legs still work don't they?" I asked jokingly and she lets out a laugh. I am quick to add, "I still need you monitored though, but I'm sure you knew that..." I say somberly an she nods. I'm compelled to sit with her so I pulled a chair up to her bed and talked to her for awhile longer.
