Dixie looked at her friend Mandy as the beautiful blonde once again turned the head of a man who offered her a free drink. Some of them would offer Dixie a drink too but that was mostly out of courtesy. Whenever anyone actually seemed interested in her, Mandy was quick to shut it down by either putting herself in between them or sending the man away.
Dixie was used to Mandy's controlling behavior. She was also well aware that she could never compete with the blonde bombshell next to her. Her own hair was a natural fiery red. She had recently spiced it up at the hairdresser by having black stripes added in the red. She loved it but Mandy said it looked trashy.
"I can show you a great time," the man next to Mandy said.
"I bet you can," Mandy giggled. "How about another drink? I'm so thirsty tonight."
Dixie rolled her cognac brown eyes. This man thought he was getting lucky. There was maybe 10% chance that would happen. Mandy knew how to play any man she met but she rarely took any of them home. She wasn't an easy target but she sure would get what she wanted out of the men who willingly offered drinks.
"Here you go, sweetheart," the man said.
Dixie watched as Mandy put the straw to her rose red painted lips and took a sip. She was often watching Mandy's ways. How Mandy would keep eye contact and smile while sipping a drink through a straw to make men think she was interested. Dixie was sometimes jealous. It would be nice to get attention from an attractive man every once in a while. She reached a hand up to fix her glasses. Maybe she should try contacts like Mandy often had said. The problem was that she had sensitive eyes. They would start watering as soon as her fingers got near them.
A dark male voice boomed through the room and took everyone's attention. Dixie and Mandy looked up on stage just like everyone else to watch the man who was singing karaoke. Dark, long hair put up in a bun and a pair of dark brown eyes that were scanning the room while he was singing. The little smirk on his face let everyone know he was well aware they were watching him.
"What is that?" Mandy asked.
"That's Adonis," Dixie answered.
As if the man had heard Dixie's words, he sent a smile towards her that sent shivers all through her body. It suddenly felt like he only noticed her in a bar full of people. He kept looking at her while he finished the song.
He stepped down from the stage and aimed directly towards the two women. Dixie noticed in the corner of her eye how Mandy did her usual tricks by pushing her chest forward, tilting her head slightly and putting on her best smile to make men think they would have any chance of arriving home later with rose red lipstick on their dick. To both women's surprise, the man ignored Mandy and walked straight over to Dixie.
"Hi, I'm Roman," he said.
"I haven't gotten laid for so long," Dixie blurted out.
Her entire face went red. Typical of her to blurt out things that were never supposed to leave her brain. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her. Roman didn't seem annoyed at that comment. Instead he smirked at her.
"Good to know," he said.
"I'm sorry. I blurt out things when I'm nervous," she said.
"Am I making you nervous?" He chuckled. "That's adorable. I was actually nervous coming down here to talk to you."
"You? Nervous? I don't believe you," she said.
"I was," he chuckled again. "Look at me. I'm such a giggler when I get nervous."
It was in that moment Mandy decided to interfere. Dixie knew it would happen. Mandy rarely let Dixie get a moment to shine when they were out together. Dixie was supposed to be the ugly friend taking whatever scraps Mandy didn't feel like entertaining. Roman did not belong in that category. Mandy stuck her hand in front of Roman.
"Hi, I'm Mandy. Don't worry about my friend here. She knows the game. You don't have to be try hard with her in order to talk to me," Mandy said.
Roman looked down at her hand, then up at her face, then back at Dixie.
"I didn't catch your name, beautiful," Roman said.
"Mandy," Mandy said a little louder.
"I'm talking to the beautiful one here," Roman said without breaking eye contact with Dixie.
Dixie blushed again. Roman clearly wasn't interested in Mandy. It was a nice turn of events.
"Dixie," Dixie said.
"Dixie," he smiled. "I'll be saying that name tonight."
"What do you mean?" Dixie asked.
Mandy let out a mocking laugh.
"He's messing with you. He's not gonna moan your name," Mandy said.
"One way or another, I will," Roman looked at Mandy. "She might not go home with me but I got my right hand, her face on my mind and her name to make for some good dreams tonight."
Mandy snorted at him. She clearly didn't believe him.
"Pull her under a lamp and take a look at her face," Mandy said.
"I don't see anything wrong with it," Roman said.
"She wears glasses and no makeup," Mandy said.
"So do I," Roman shrugged. "Well, I'm wearing contacts today but I normally wear glasses, and I'm really not into makeup. Not on myself or women."
Roman turned to look at Dixie again. He gave her his best smile and chuckled nervously. His nervous chuckle made her break out in a smile herself. He might have the looks, and for some reason he was interested in her, but he was still as nervous as her.
"I haven't gotten laid in a very long time either," Roman said.
"Does that mean you won't last long?" Dixie asked.
He broke out in a full blown laughter that made people around them turn their heads to look at him for a moment.
"Maybe," he said. "But I'll make sure you'll get yours first during foreplay. And once I get the first round out of the way quickly, I'll probably last longer the second time. But who knows? We might have to keep trying several times to get it just right. I don't know about you but I'm up for the challenge."
Dixie looked over at Mandy who shook her head no. In that moment Dixie couldn't let Mandy control the outcome anymore. Not this time around. It was about time that she got what she wanted too. She looked at Roman again and broke out in a grin.
"Lead the way, Adonis," she said.
"Adonis?" He chuckled. "What should I call you then? Kitten?"
"I don't care as long as you show me a good time," she said.
