Damian noticed her before she noticed him. He stood a little back and took in her being. Long, medium brown hair softly flying in the wind from under that grey beanie that was keeping her ears warm. A long, buttoned up, black Winter coat, green gloves, off white denim jeans and a pair of light brown Winter boots.

He wanted her.

He walked slowly towards her so he wouldn't scare her. When she turned her head to look at him, he quickly pulled his hands up from his pockets to look like less of a threat. He was trying to be as open with her as possible. A pair of cornflower blue eyes stared directly into his.

She was his for the taking.

He knew he was big and sometimes people feared his height and his muscles. He put on his best smile that he knew always worked. His eyes always looked soft when he smiled, and many women before this innocent soul in front of him had fallen into his trap. Soft eyes, bright smile. A big man to protect them. They bought into the dream.

Only to find he was their worst nightmare.

He introduced himself and got her name back in return. Geraldine. Old school. Boring maybe. Matching her look as a person who didn't really stand out which was what he liked. Someone no one would look twice at so they hopefully wouldn't remember her walking side by side with a monster of a man.

Geraldine was his prize tonight.

He offered to walk her home on this dark and cold night. A woman like her shouldn't be walking alone. It could be dangerous. There were always bad people out there in the world, and she shouldn't walk alone and become an easy target for people like that.

He was one of the bad people crossing her path.

She accepted his offer and walked side by side with him for a while. They talked and laughed. Everything seemed pleasant. Crossing roads, over hills, turning corners, moving forward. Until he found the right spot.

Her final resting place.

Before she could even think to scream, he had grabbed her and pulled her into the construction site. He ignored the sign saying trespassers weren't allowed. When she finally realized what was happening, it was too late to scream. She opened her mouth to try. He shut her up by wrapping his hands around her white throat and squeezed as hard as he could. In her mind she probably screamed but only gurgling sounds came out as she struggled to breathe.

The monster took another life.

The sounds stopped and her arms fell to the sides. Her eyes remained open. Those cornflower blue eyes now staring at nothing. He dragged her corpse to a sandy spot. He grabbed a shovel left by a worker and started digging into the ground. He pushed her body in there and covered it with sand. She might be found, she might not. It didn't matter. No one had seen them walk together. No one knew who he was. He placed the shovel back where he found it and left the construction site.

No longer with an innocent soul walking next to him.
