Bella felt all warm and cosy and safe. She was laying somewhere soft and pleasant, and she could feel someone holding her hand, it felt strange but nice. Her eyelids were still very heavy and resisted her attempts to open them up, but it didn't matter or frighten her, she trusted that whoever was holding her hand was protecting her. She heard movement in the room she was in, and someone was whispering, she couldn't hear what they were saying, which just made her more curious, but that calmness and safety never went away, just like the hand holding hers never moved. Bella laid back into the drowsiness that the warmth of the calm brought once more, she had never been one for sleeping in but right now she just couldn't, nor wouldn't, wake up.
Jasper was concentrating hard on the girl. He wanted to offer her safety and calm, but he didn't mean to overpower her, so he tried to find someplace in the middle, slowly easing down on the calmness he was radiating. He felt the girl starting to stir a little under the covers, shifting into a different position, but not waking up or trying to free herself from his loose grip on her hand. He was aware of the three vampires behind him and he heard one of them move, but he didn't let go of his focus on the girl, not even when Alice whispered to Carlisle and Esme; "I don't think it will be long now before she wakes, I can see her opening her eyes. It's a little foggy on the when though, like she's trying but at the same time she's not". Jasper smiled to himself, if Alice could see her that meant she would be ok for now, so he just held onto her hand, trying to let the child sleep peacefully.
"I don't think it will be long now before she wakes, I can see her opening her eyes. It's a little foggy on the when though, like she's trying but at the same time she's not" At Alice words Carlisle looked over at his son and the child on the sofa. He hadn't at all been sure he was right when he had asked Jasper to ease up on the calmness, that it would actually wake up the girl, but he was relieved that he was. At the same time he worried what it would mean, and what was to happen when she woke up in a room full of strangers; after all the girl was awfully young, and Jasper was per say very young himself in a different way; Carlisle worried that Jasper would accidentally hurt the girl, or maybe even kill her by accident, and feared what that would do to his sons psyche.
Alice couldn't stand to look at this much longer. She was relieved when she first 'saw' the girl waking up, but that was hours ago and her vision was still just a big ever changing blur, and nothing had changed with the girl on the couch. She was starting to get a headache from her vision, but she couldn't tune it out either. She glanced at Jasper and wondered what would happen if she went over there, if maybe her headache would ease a little with that calmness Jasper was focusing on. She hesitated a little before moving closer, feeling a little uneasy from the headache and the blur, and maybe a little scared Jasper might view her as a threat like he had with Carlisle at first, but she decided to go over to her man anyway.
Jasper heart footsteps getting closer, light and pixie-like, Alice. He didn't flinch or shift focus when she sat down next to him, resting her head on his shoulder and scooting closer to him. He figured she wasn't a threat to the girl, and knew she wasn't a threat to him, so he allowed her to stay, but didn't say anything, still completely focused on the girl. Alice sighted and he felt how her tense body relaxed a little. He could feel how she was in pain, and considered what would happen to the girl if he turned up the calm and easing a little, to offer Alice some relief as well, but decided to just grab a hold of Alice hand with his free one, figuring that if him holding the girls hand amplified his powers in her, maybe it would do the same for Alice. He felt her body relax a little more, the pain was still there, but there was nothing more he could do for her at the moment, not without risking to hurt the girl in the process.
