A/N: Quick note here. I'm going to have to go back through the OHSHC manga and binge watch the anime again. Oh. What a shame. Note how sad I am to have to do that. (wink wink) This way I can somewhat stay with the original plot while putting my own twist on the story. Lots to do!

She was horribly annoyed. Not only was there a rumor flying around that she and Mori apparently had a "thing" going on, the Chairman had approached her with specific instructions that she was required to wear the girl's uniform over the course of the Cultural Festival the school was participating in.
This, in turn, had caused Kagome to be oogled on the bullet train more than normal. She'd had to deliver such a scathing talk-down to a man almost twice her age, the miko was surprised he'd still been standing.
'When I get my hands on the idiot that started that damn rumor...' she thought visciously, imagining the horror she would inflict on that individual. It didn't help that every time Mori heard anything, he became flustered and more withdrawn. Kagome knew she would have absolutely no help from his end of things. What she couldn't understand was why he was reacting like that...
Well, at least she could relax a little today now that school was over. A sigh escaped her lips as she rose to her feet and dusted off the yellow skirt of her unseemly poofy dress. As the former time traveler gathered her books and shoved them in her bag, she heard a throat clear next to her and raised her emotionless blue eyes to the boy that was standing before her.
"What."
"Well, Higurashi-san, I heard an interesting rumor has been circulating recently," he boasted, a smirk on his face. Kagome could feel her eye starting to twitch. She really was going to kill her a rich kid today. "And I was wondering if it was true?"
In the background, Honey stopped and watched the events unfold with serious chocolate eyes. The Lolita Host was actually thankful that his taller cousin wasn't currently in the room.
"Which one? The one about me beating up the Kendo Club?"
The boy blinked and suddenly swallowed, his arrogant smirk dropping from his face. "Actually, I was speaking of the rumor about you dating Mori-san."
"Yeah... I've heard that one. It's not true, though. I barely even talk to the guy," the shrine maiden shrugged, uncaring of the fact that the boy started to grin again.
"Well then, I was considering the fact that I should privilege you with my wonderful prescence this weekend on a night out." Honey frowned, annoyed at the other male's high and mighty attitude. He was ready to go over there and teach the fool a lesson-!
"No." Her response was immediate and sharp.
"W-What?" he spluttered, narrowing his eyes in anger, "No one says no to me!"
"I just did, you arrogant, superficial, aggrivating dumbass," Kagome answered, glaring fiercely up at the idiot. "I don't get why you would even want to go out with me. Is it the concept of having a commoner to wow? Is it that you believe because I don't have the money you do that I'll give you special treatment?"
"Uhh..." Now, the boy was looking nervous, and it showed by the way he fidgeted. Honey crept closer, now concerned for the other guy's safety. His pretty friend had been in a bad mood for the past month since they'd all come back from the beach. She was looking for a reason to bash some rich moron's head in.
'And I'm pretty sure I know why. I really wonder who started that rumor involving Takashi and Kago-chan?'
"Or maybe," the former time traveler continued sweetly, a wide, slightly manic grin on her lips that made her suitor 'Eep!' in fear, "You think that if you take me out to a nice place for a good meal, I'll put out for you."
Judging by the choked noise coming from the boy, the last thing she'd said was the closest option. There was a growl from behind her and she glanced back to see Honey looking as murderous as she felt. If she wasn't ready to skin the guy in front of her, she would have been shocked to see the sneer on the little blonde's face.
"How. Dare. You." Honey slowly lifted his hands and cracked his knuckles in a menacing way. His fellow male was out the door instantly with a scream and the Haninozuka heir reverted back to his happy persona. The danger had been averted and the hypo-tensive beast lulled back to sleep. "Hi Kago-chan! I'm ready to go if you are?"
"... Okay. I'm impressed," the tough girl admitted, pulling at the cuffs of her dress in the process; she'd started unbuttoning them to roll them up for the upcoming fist-fight she knew she was bound to get into. Too bad the Haninozuka boy had interfered.
"You're my friend, Kago-chan. And no one gets to talk to my friend like that," Honey countered, his smile widening at Kagome's adorably confused expression. It was safe to say that he probably wouldn't tell Mori of this development unless it was under dire circumstances. He was sure their classmate wouldn't survive an encounter with the intimidating eldest Morinozuka male.
'Especially since it's Kago-chan we're talking about.'
"Huh." It had been a while since someone had actually stuck up for her like that. It warmed a place in her heart that she was afraid to disturb; she'd closed that part of herself off years ago when the Shikon had altered the time-line. A part that she was desperately trying to keep these strange rich people from discovering.
"Hey, how about you come with me to the Host Club today? We're gonna have fun games, and cakes, and music! It'll be great!" He was already grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the classroom. Taking off down the hall, Kagome tried to pry her hand free, then resigned herself to being carted along by the ridiculously strong blonde. Witholding a sigh, the miko simply bit her lip to contain the urge to loudly protest being anywhere near the Host Club.
She'd had enough of those boys to last her a lifetime already, and yet she was about to be subjected to their special brand of stupid once more. The shrine maiden only prayed that she would survive this encounter without beating the living daylights out of someone.
'I highly doubt it.'
