A/N: Alright, so I just finished revising and editing the first chapter. A lot of it is still the same, but a lot was changed/added. I decided to switch to third-person since I find it a little weird now writing first-person for a fanfiction since I'm not creating the characters, but I hope it's not too bothersome!

Anyway, I don't own Cardcaptor Sakura, as it belongs to CLAMP. If I did, I certainly would not be posting fanfictions nor would I have ended Clear Card like that :P.

WARNINGS: This story will contain sexual content, some language, teacher-student relationship, minor mention of suicide(NOT HEAVILY, I swear. I understand how triggering it can be), and uhh...I can't think of anything else, but if there's something new, I'll definitely let you guys know before reading it :).

With that being said, read at your own risks, and please...I don't need reviews/comments about how wrong this story/relationship is, because like I said, it is all strictly FANTASY/IMAGINATION(Fanfiction), so I can do without the negative comments because we all understand that it's wrong(hopefully you do, if you are reading Mature stories :P), but we are strictly reading/writing it for the entertainment :).

Alright, now I'm done, so hope you enjoy the chapter if you continue on at this point!

"Guardian Angel"

Laughter and chatter filled the room from joyous people who seemed to be having a good time and genuinely enjoying life. Despite this being a restaurant, it felt like the closest thing to home to Kinomoto Sakura. She had worked here for the last two years, somehow making a living off of being a waitress.

Any person would have said that it would be impossible to do this, but only without the knowledge that Sakura had worked over 50 hours a week, only to make just enough for her rent, thanks to being paid minimum wage. Tokyo was expensive to live in, but she refused to give up the only thing that she had left of her big brother.

"Could the pretty lady get our check ready?" a man, who looked to be in his late 50s, asked, winking at Sakura after she had asked if the party needed anything else.

She could feel her cheeks warm before nodding her head with a smile on her face. "Of course, Mr. Hiroshi," Sakura said, smiling at the regular customer she always seemed to serve. It felt like the man always requested her whenever he would hold business lunches with his colleagues. She never complained because they always tipped her big enough to survive on groceries for an entire week.

"Take your time, there's no rush," Hiroshi called after her, making her feel relieved that they were not in a rush to leave. Also, that she need not to rush herself. There had been several times where she had dropped their food or spilled a drink because of her uneasiness around the influential men. Plus, they all made her feel shy with their stares and flirtatious lines whenever they could throw them in.

She could hold her own though, being used to men passes at her. She had been in the business long enough to know that entertaining their forwardness with politeness rewarded her with bigger tips. She had never done anything out of line, always responding with a giggle or passive aggressive rejection with a hint of playfulness to it so they would not take offense to it. Thankfully, Mr. Hiroshi and his colleague's were respectful with their passes most times. After all, she was still technically a minor in the eyes of society.

"Don't worry, I won't be spilling any drinks on your Brioni suits today," she said teasingly, making the men at the table laugh at her comment. She had done it more than once already, so she figured the men could take it how they wanted to.

She walked through the restaurant, heading to the back where she could print out their receipt before a call stopped her while at the computer. "Sakura, come to my office now!" she heard the man call again.

She mentally groaned, wondering what she did wrong this time since it seemed like her boss was always on her case. Sometimes she wondered if the man did not like her, but that thought was always erased when he would stick his neck out for her by giving her hours and discounts to eat.

She walked further to the back to his office, only to see him sitting at his desk with his arms crossed and leg placed over the other. Oh no…She knew that look from a mile away, and it spelled bad news.

"Yes sir?" she answered nonchalantly, not wanting him to sense her fear, but she knew her voice trembled at the word, 'sir.'

"Take a seat," he motioned to the chair in front of him with a look of regret in his eyes. The look made her pray that the gods were not going to be against her today like they always seemed to be.

She walked in his office fully, slowly sitting in the chair, something in the back of her mind telling her to flee the scene so she did not have to hear what he had to say. "Is there a problem?" she asked, looking him in the eyes squarely, hoping to read what was to come.

Her boss inhaled a deep breath before releasing it. "We're going to have to let you go…" he started, already looking at her apologetically. That was not what she expected.

"W-what?" she stuttered.

"You are one of my best workers—and you know that I mean that, but…we have to lay off some of our workers because we haven't been getting as much business as we used to, so we have to downsize on some of our employees. It's going to be you and a few others who are the most recent. I can't get rid of the people who's been here before you arrived, which is why…it has to be you and anyone who's been hired after you. I'm really sorry—"

Sakura stood from her chair, taking her name tag, uniform apron, and hat off, sitting it on his desk. "I understand," she said calmly, not wanting him to know how drastic this was going to affect her.

"Sakura—"

"Is it alright for me to finish my last table? I…had to give them their check," she said, looking away from him. She did not want to see the sympathetic look in his eyes that everyone showed her because they felt sorry for her. She hated pity, and that's exactly what her boss had had for her this entire time she worked here. She felt disgusted with herself for accepting that pity for these last two years she had worked her suddenly.

"Mr. Hiroshi?" he asked.

She nodded.

"Sakura…are you going to be okay? I know that you've been living alone—"

She looked at him, giving him one of her best, energetic grins she had ever given a person before. "Of course, I'll be alright. I'll have another job by the end of the week," she promised, yet she knew it was a lie.

"Sak—"

"Could you please keep…the prime minister out of this? I…don't need to be placed in an orphanage at 17-years-old," she said.

It had taken a lot of work to not get herself placed in an orphanage after her brother passed. She had been blessed with this job because her boss, Masamoto, had looked out for her. He had made it to where she would be getting paid enough to make a living on her own, while also meeting her personal needs too. For all the work they had put into not getting her put into an orphanage would be upsetting if she were to still end up in one. Plus, she would be 18 in less than a year, so she found no point in playing family temporarily.

"I don't know, Sakura. I'm worried—"

"Promise me that you won't do that. If you're really looking out for my best interest, you won't do that," she demanded, looking at him determined. She refused to let her life spiral out of control. "Promise me!"

Masamoto held up a hand, a habit he had when trying to calm her down. "Alright, I promise I won't. If you don't have a job by the end of the week, I may have to reconsider. I care about you and want you safe, okay?" he said, looking at her worriedly.

She smiled at him gratefully, nodding her head, though she knew that she would have no way of contacting him once she left this place, unless she were to come here again. And she could never do that after leaving. This was the reason she tried not to become attached to people because she always lost them and ended up alone. "I promise that everything will definitely be alright," she said. For some reason, she did not believe her own motivational quote for the first time in her life.

The man wrapped her in his arms in a tight embrace, kissing her forehead afterwards. He had been the closest thing to a father to her real father who had passed years ago. She bid him goodbye and headed to do what she originally needed to do before she would get out of here.

Sakura could feel her legs trembling each step she took, feeling like she were walking on sharp glass. Each step she took felt like it would be the last step she could ever take. The busy streets with passerby's, rushing through the crowds, talking on the phone, was a reminder that she was not equipped for this kind of world. She could not see her future past today for some reason. For a second, she thought about several ways to rid herself of this misery. It was not like anyone would miss her or even notice that she were gone.

At that thought, she could feel the back of her throat tighten up, wanting to hurl out her insides. She could not let herself think such thoughts like that, she told herself. She would not think about ending it for something this small.

Homeless and starvation is definitely something small.

She ignored the snarky comment from her conscious telling her that.

A tug on the leg of her loose black pants brought her back to reality from her suicidal thoughts. She looked down at the thing pulling on her pant leg. Except that thing was not a thing. It was a little boy.

And that was when she noticed her vision had been blurry, making her wipe her eyes with the back of her fists to clear her vision. She had not even realized she was crying. Giving him one of her best smiles, she stooped down to his height, "Are you lost, honey?" she asked gently, hoping he would not comment on her crying. She had let herself be weak, something she promised herself not to be since she lost her brother. Touya had been one of the strongest people she knew, so she wanted to follow in his footsteps.

The little boy shook his head and did something no one had ever done; pounce on her, causing her to fall to the ground. She was taken by surprise when the little boy embraced her so tightly that she could barely breathe. "Daddy says that hugging always makes a person feel better," he muffled in her work top that surely smelt of grease and fried foods.

Without thinking, she hugged the little boy back, unsure how to respond to him, but she needed this. She had been trying to be strong, so she at least deserved this. His grip tightened around her, making a small smile play at her lips. Her cheeks warmed as she pulled him closer to her, enjoying the warmth that he brought to her heart.

"Are you better, Miss?"

She smiled, nodding her head, despite the little voice in the back of her head telling her that this was only a temporary happiness. So, there they sat, in the middle of the streets of Tokyo, embracing each other like there was nothing else in the world that mattered. It was only a few minutes that passed until he released her.

She looked at him and smiled. "Thank you, sweetie."

Without thinking, she kissed his cheek, making him blush. A giggle escaped her mouth at his bashful response. It was at that moment when she noticed his head full of chestnut-colored disheveled hair that hung loosely over his head. He had a beautiful shade of amber eyes that almost looked like fire were in them.

Cute kid.

She ruffled his hair gently, causing him to pout. She smiled and asked, "Where is this kind father of yours? I should thank him for his great advice about giving hugs." She felt an odd sense of loss at the thought of departing from the kid, but she knew he needed to get back to his parents before they began to worry.

"He's inside the enormous building here," he pointed to a building across from them that she had not even noticed until now. "He's in a meeting with people he says are important."

She knew that there was no way that it was normal for people in Tokyo to leave their kids all alone in the city. The little boy could not be any older than four-years-old with how small he looks.

"Why are you out here all alone then?" she decided to ask, instead of bashing his father. There had to be an explanation for it.

"Well, I'm not supposed to be…" he said sheepishly, while looking down to the ground guiltily.

She smiled sadly, seeing a little of herself in the kid. She had been the same as a kid, always running off and ending up in some kind of trouble because she could be careless. It was one of the reasons Touya always teased her and been overly protective. "You can't just run off on your own. You could get hurt."

"I know, but I just needed to escape from Mrs. Tachibana. She's so mean, and I loathe being around her."

She found herself genuinely laughing for the first time in a long time. Did the kid really use the word 'loathe?' She really wanted to meet the parents of the kid now to see what kind of people they were.

"Well, you shouldn't sneak off from adults. They'll be worried sick about you. Promise me you'll never do anything like this again." She held out her pinky for him to take. He seemed to think about it for a while before linking his pinky with hers.

"Okay, I promise. But only because you're a very pretty lady."

She could feel her cheeks warm at the compliment from the little boy. She smiled. "Well, let's go then. We should let them know you are safe."

He shook his head with a frown on his face now. "No, let's play out here for a while."

"How about we let Mrs. Tachibana know that you are safe, and then we can play inside," she suggested instead.

He seemed to be in deep thought again, making her laugh at the serious, concentrated look on his face. "You have to promise me that you will stay with me first," he said after a minute of thinking.

Taking another glance at the building, she realized that she could not make that promise to him. The building was luxurious, and she looked very low class to be in the likes of something so high class. She knew there was a possibility of being sent away, so she refused to get the little boys hopes up. "How about this, if I can stay and play with you, then I promise I will stay."

He held up his pinky up towards her with a smile on his face. "Deal."

They linked pinkies before she stood from the ground, stretching from the straining position. He held his hand up for her to take, which she gladly did. Immediately, he began to drag her towards the building, making her laugh, as she tried to walk on her own. "Slow down buddy, we are in no rush."

"We do or Daddy's going to get out of his meeting thingy and then we will have to go home."

The doors automatically opened after he held up a scan card towards a machine and he dragged her inside with him.

Sakura was amused by his knowledge of knowing how to get in the building when looking up to see a beautiful, tall slender woman ahead of them. She had jet-black hair that reached her bum and light-blue eyes. She had the figure of a model, wearing a nice, tan professionally-fitted suit. She had on high heels that looked comfortable enough to walk in. Sakura almost envied the beauty radiating off her, but could not help admiring it.

"There you are, you little brat! You know better than to run off like that on your own! You don't want me telling your father again, do you?"

Sakura glared at the woman, suddenly feeling protective of the little boy for some reason.

The woman turned to Sakura, giving her a glance over with judgment in her eyes. "And who the hell is this?"

For some reason, it made her feel wrong for being in a place like this. "I—"

"You shouldn't say bad words like that! She is my girlfriend, so get out of our way before I tell Daddy on you again!"

Sakura could not believe what her ears were hearing. She had to hold back the giggle, not caring about how mean the lady was being anymore.

"Listen, brat—"

"I just found him outside of the building, so I was bringing him back inside."

Sakura felt guilty when she saw him look at her with hurt in his eyes. "What happened to the promise?"

She stooped to his height, resting her hands on his shoulders gently. "We can always play another time." She smiled at him sadly, knowing he would never see her again once she left this place.

"You're lying and Daddy said that it's not nice to lie!"

Sakura stood up and turned to the woman with a sad smile, hoping she could convince her to let her stay.

"He's a little brat that thinks he can get what he wants. He believes that everything is revolved around him, so you don't have to feel obligated to stay here, dear," Tachibana said, shaking her head as if she were ashamed of him.

"Actually, I was wondering if it would be okay if I stayed here with him for a little while until his father's meeting ended. I would like to thank him properly for something that he did."

"If you stay here, you guys will have to go on another floor. Mr. Li would not appreciate his company displaying foolishness to passersby's."

Sakura could feel her mood lighten up at hearing the woman allow her to stay. She almost found it unbelievable. She bowed her head. "That is perfectly fine with me. We will act on our best behaviors, Mrs. Tachibana."

"Follow me, both of you."

The little boy grabbed her hand and took off in excitement, dragging her with him again. She could not help but feel drawn to the boy, hoping today would never end.

They walked in the elevator and Tachibana pressed one of the floor numbers. There were several people around them in the elevator, dressed very high-classed, while Sakura looked like she had borrowed clothes from a shelter. She knew that she did not belong in a place like this, so how did she let a little kid convince her otherwise?

Ding.

The doors of the elevator slid open and they followed Tachibana, who was heading down the hall. Sakura's eyes were capturing everything it could in the beautiful building. There were marble floors and everything else was glass, so they could get a great view of Tokyo.

Tachibana unlocked one of the doors with her ID card and it automatically slid open. They walked in and there was probably drool falling from the side of Sakura's mouth at the sight before her. The place was beautiful. Everything in the room was a dark, navy-blue color, the couch, the mini fridge, desk, and carpet. There was a nice view of Tokyo through the glass window. It was a little scary being in such a place because she was already a klutz. One slip and she would be paying for everything in the room.

"Thanks! Now bye, Mrs. Tachibana!" the little boy started to push her out of the room, making Sakura suppress the urge to laugh at him.

Tachibana glared at him before turning to Sakura. "Can I get your name? I need to know so I can sign you on the list of guests here. It is something mandatory for every guest that comes in."

"Kinomoto Sakura."

She scribbled her name down on a small notepad. When did she get that? "Give me your age, number, and weight please."

Sakura could feel her cheeks warm, wondering why the woman needed to know all of this. Tachibana must have sensed her hesitation because she spoke again. "I can assure you that it is for safety purposes only, Ms. Kinomoto. We would like to know when you come in and when you leave. We would not want you trying to stay in and destroy the building when everyone is gone."

She sighed, still feeling a little embarrassed about having to give her weight away though. It only signified her not being capable of taking care of herself enough. "I'm 17 and I don't have a phone, so…no number. Uhh…and I weigh 101 pounds."

Sakura looked to the floor shyly when the woman's eyes began to scan Sakura's figure. Sakura heard her writing down a few more things before she put the notepad away. "You two try to keep it down and if you need anything, press this button here," she pointed to a green button that was located where she swiped her card earlier.

They nodded and the woman left the room before the little boy pulled Sakura to the couch hurriedly.

Sakura chuckled. "What's the rush, sweetie?"

His frown deepened and it made her wonder why he wanted her around so much. "I want to be with you as much as possible."

"I'm not going anywhere, trust me. Now, can you tell me your name?"

Referring to him as 'honey' and 'sweetie' made her feel like an old woman.

"Li Xing. It is okay for me to call you Sakura, right? My father always says that you should address adults respectfully," he educated, looking down bashfully as he used her first name.

"Yes, but only if it's okay for me to call you Xing."

This seemed to brighten his mood, considering the wide smile on his face now. "Of course you can!"

He jumped into her lap, wrapping his arms around her tightly again. She giggled, hugging him back gently and then tried sitting him down on the couch beside her. He held on to her tighter so she could not get him off. After a while, he released her but remained seated in her lap.

"Is this the room you normally play in?"

"Yes and I have lots and lots of toys in here!"

He jumped off her lap and took off towards the desk. He pulled out trucks, Legos, and everything he had in the room.

To her surprise, they played for hours and talked nonstop about any and everything he came up with. She found out that he was "four and a half" years old and that he was originally from Hong Kong. He and his father moved here, only a few months ago because his dad had to take care of business. He told her his favorite food, color, shows, and the list seemed never-ending. He never mentioned anything about his mother, so she figured to avoid that topic with him.

Now, they were building a tower with his Legos, sitting in the middle of the floor crisscrossed. She had not even noticed how dark it had become outside until looking out the glass windows. Had it really been that long? And was his dad really still in a meeting?

"Daddy sometimes stays in the meetings very late."

He had noticed her looking out the windows, so she turned to him and smiled. "I'm in no rush to leave, Xing. I will stay here with you all night if I have to."

His eyes widened, seeming surprised that she would be willing to do that. "Really?!"

"Of course."

He jumped on top of her again for the umpteenth time that day, hugging her tightly as her back rest against the soft carpet that caused her body to sink into it. She giggled, but stopped when hearing a beeping sound and the door automatically opening, revealing a man.

He was the spitting image of the little boy, who was on top of her at the moment. He looked handsome with his disheveled, chestnut hair and burning, amber eyes. He looked a lot more masculine than Xing, and the suit that he had on resembled the ones she would spill drinks on at the restaurant.

When their eyes met, her body stiffened underneath Xing because of how hard and cold his eyes stared at her. The glare almost felt deadly if that were possible. Her heart began to race in her chest, and quite frankly, she did not know if it was out of fear for her life or the way the man's eyes on her made her feel.

Feeling as though she was doing something wrong, she gently removed Xing from on top of her. There was no questioning the man. He was, indeed, Xing's father.

Sakura sat up from lying on the floor and looked away from the man, so she did not have to see those cold, piercing eyes.

As if Xing could sense her fears, he ran straight to the man. "Daddy!"

The man picked him up with ease, holding him close; away from her. "I'm sorry about the long wait, buddy. I know this tummy of yours must be starving."

The man tickled Xing's stomach, making him laugh and squirm in his arms to get down. "I am a little hungry. Can we have pizza tonight, please?"

He gave his father a puppy dog look, making her smile at the adorable interaction. There was no way that anyone could say no to those eyes and pouting lips, she thought.

He gave Xing a pointed look. "We had pizza last night though."

"And I want it again. Please, Daddy? It will make me very happy."

"No pizza tonight," he finalized in a stern voice.

Xing groaned, seeming to know that was the end of pizza. Sakura could not believe the man had been able to reject those eyes, especially since she had fell for them all day.

"Oh! You should meet my new girlfriend, Daddy!"

Her body stiffened when she heard Xing trying to get her involved in the conversation. Her eyes hesitantly strayed over to their direction again, seeing Xing squirm out of his dad's arms, pulling him towards her.

Running was the only option she could think of at that moment, but her body seemed to be frozen on the floor while looking at the two approaching her.

Here goes nothing…

A/N: Thoughts? I will definitely be trying to get more chapters out this week. I'm going to shoot for 3-4, but no promises! It will for sure be 1-2 though :). Oh and the Hiroshi in the beginning is the same one, so it's crucial to the plot :P.

Ja ne!
