Steven made a few calls to his dad's company and within the hour a secure transport truck had arrived for the fossil and various precious gems found in Stlix's home. They had sat just outside it and watched as the various Team Rocket members were flown out for transport to a league holding facility. All the pokeballs Stlix had snatched from the Rocket's had been handed over. Buddy was coiled up with Stlix resting upon his massive head and Floaty and Steven's metagross floating nearby. Steven sat upon the floating metagross and watched the various rangers and ace trainers as they moved about to keep the location secure from prying eyes.
Various alakazams from the Devon corporation were flown in to teleport the metagross hive to the new location. Local Pokémon stayed away from the hustle and bustle of the league operation. Soon after the final Rocket was flown out the large 'garchomp' as Steven had called it, flew down to them with Cynthia seated upon its back.
"When are you leaving then Steven." She addressed the trainer. "The final members of the hive will be gone soon after all."
"Soon enough Cynthia." He answered. "Stlix's items were far rarer than I knew so I ordered transport for it."
"Yes, I was told." She said with a smile. "You are going to have to pay for the fossil you now. Technically Devon corporation is not allowed to dig here." Steven winced slightly before smirking.
"Ah but Devon corporation did not dig here and how heartless of a champion to steal a child's possession. I mean he found it not Devon." He finished gesturing at Stlix. Cynthia narrowed her eyes at the man before she smirked as well.
"And if you believe I don't think Devon Corp will revive that tyrunt you may have had your head full of grimer."
"Ah but if Devon Corp is asked by a trainer to revive a fossil they found, upon reaching certain tier of trainer level they can keep the Pokémon revived." He grinned back at the champion of Sinnoh.
"Well then Steven it will be a while for Stlix here is properly trained to receive that trainer tier. Also, on that note he clearly has a metagross and the largest steelix ever recorded and he is not a trainer, before you stop me I know it is special circumstances but the government is still going to want them taken away from him, you know." Stlix had jumped to his feet before she stopped speaking and the ground cracked slightly under the garchomp as he stared at her angrily. Steven interrupted quickly.
"Calm down Stlix, no one is taking them from you." At his assurance, the slight rumble in the ground stopped and he stopped glaring at Cynthia, he did not however sit back down upon Buddy's large head. "Now before there is a massive misunderstanding." He said staring at Cynthia. "No one can take them from you, but people will not want two extremely powerful Pokémon under the control of a child." He went on to sketch out a quick explanation of how the more dangerous a Pokémon, the more tests were the league would put the trainer through to show that the Pokémon would not rampage and destroy large parts of a city. "Even onix and metang are tier five Pokémon and their evolved forms are amongst the small pool of tier six Pokémon." Cynthia took over the explanation.
"Currently both Floaty?" She looked for confirmation from Stlix who nodded and then continued. "And Buddy are wild Pokémon because they are not linked to a pokeball and therefore any trainer who can capture them into a pokeball and has the required trainer permissions would then own them. So, and before you get angry, I am sure Steven will give you pokeballs so that those two can be linked to you. Devon work closely with heavy Pokémon like those to and have specially made pokeballs so that they can be comfortable." Stlix calmed down once she finished and sat back down on Buddy's head. He turned his head to face Steven who nodded at him.
"We call them Heavy balls and they are made so that Pokémon like metagross and the many Pokémon we employ to mine are comfortable when in the balls." He pulled a steel and white coloured ball with light blue decorative bumps. "We will also get you a license with special permissions for those two so no one can take them away. Anymore higher tier Pokémon will need the permissions earned. It isn't a new thing just rare, for example Cynthia and I had more powerful than average Pokémon as our starter." Stlix nodded at that he could attest to metagross being far more powerful than the local Pokémon and the dragon that Cynthia stood next to seemed far more powerful than any of the Pokémon the Rockets had brought.
"Anyway, with that all sorted." Steven said. "Metagross will teleport us to the grounds where my dad lives. He is really excited to meet Stlix here and I have just seen the last part of the hive teleport out. Cynthia." He said seriously. "Talk to Lance once you have the full report, The Rockets seem far more active now and they are based in his region." Cynthia nodded at that a light frown marring her face as she mounted back up on the garchomp.
"Goodbye." Stlix said to the Sinnoh champion. "It was nice to meet you and thanks for helping the hive, they are good friends of mine."
"You are an interesting person Stlix I expect to see you in Sinnoh when you go on your own journey." He nodded at her as dark purple energy started to swirl around the three Pokémon and two humans. The energy pulsed and the surrounding warped and changed. Within an instant they were stood on a cobblestone road in front of a massive manor constructed out of dark grey stone and a light cream marble. Before he had a chance to take in the scenery the large double doors were ripped open and a man who looked identical to Steven apart from greyish hair and a few wrinkles, ran out and charged at the duo. Steven hopped down from the metagross who greeted the darker steel one who floated out from the open doorway. The older man charged Steven, his slightly portly form showing his unfamiliarity with exercise.
"You're my brothers' son." He exclaimed upon seeing Stlix's face and before he could do anything Stlix was pulled into a tight hug. Buddy rumbled at him, amused. But it didn't laugh because the man grabbed as much of buddy's face he could reach and squeezed. "And you looked after him, thank you, thank you. Oh, I am sorry I didn't look harder for you."
"My father was sad for a very long time when Uncle and Auntie went missing." Steven explained. "Finding out what happened, as sad as it is, relieves the idea that they might be lost, stuck or crippled and dying a nasty death."
"And he is a Stone." Stevens father near shouted. "Look at him, while his first Pokémon wasn't a metagross his second was and his first was a steel type."
"Yes, from what metagross said he is like a triple type psychic." Steven said. Looking at his father's confusion he elaborated. "And that is something we should research because he is closely linked to steel, rock and ground types." The older Stone's face cleared slightly.
"The tyrunt fossil. I didn't believe you when you said a nine-year-old found a complete dragon type fossil so far from where they used to live. I thought it was impossible." He shook his head with a smile. "But it wasn't, and we have a fantastic new team member to gift you. Anyway, now come inside I sent some people out to buy some clothes around your size you can try to see what you find comfortable. Metagross here." He patted the beast floating behind him. "Will tell Floaty were to go." He the hurried of back through the doors as a distant machine started ringing. Floaty floated past him as Steven also started talking into a device upon his wrist.
Stlix followed his fried to ascend a massive staircase with ornate metal railings that stood centrally in the first room. It took a moment before he decided that the manor was far bigger than even the metagross caverns. When he finally reached his room it too was far larger than the cavern he used to live in and featured a large hole made from stone and dirt which sloped down the first floor that was clearly made for the steelix and similar Pokémon.
After a while Stlix had found clothing that was far more comfortable in the hotter climate he now found himself in. A black pair of shorts with many pockets and a heavy, brown leather belt with straps for pokeballs to rest in. It was topped with a dark brown sleeveless shirt and a black bandana that pulled his long hair out of his face. There was a heavy pair of steel toed boots that he pulled on before going to find Steven.
Once he found Steven the man had just taken his wrist away from his ear. As soon as he saw Stlix a smile appeared on his face.
"Comfortable?" He questioned and at Stlix's nod went on. "Now your dressed we will probably have dinner and go to sleep for the night and then tomorrow." He said with a smile. "We will start training." Stlix felt a smile pull at his own face as he heard the joy in the man's tone. Tomorrow then. Then it starts for real.
