A small fish with two large glowing fronds appeared in the water. Its eyes featured large pluses and slight crackles of discharge rippled in the water surrounding it. Stlix narrowed his eyes, Corsola did not know any grass or ground type moves and the chinchou's electric moves would be extremely damaging to Corsola despite the protective shell.

"Push out of the water before slamming down with Tackle." Stlix stated.

"Hit them with Thunder wave." Lily shouted at the water type.

As Corsola thrust herself out of the water a great wave of crackling energy rushed through the water, it barely clipped one her spines before she came crashing back down to Tackle.

"Let it hit then use Spark." Lily said as Corsola was falling, knowing she couldn't divert from the path now. In response Stlix recalled his Pokémon before placing the pokeball upon his belt.

"I declare Corsola unable to battle, the Spark would have knocked her unconscious and caused unnecessary amounts of pain." He said in response to the questioning gazes. "Beda, your turn." He let the larvitar out onto one of the floating platforms, the small green figure immediately assuming a battle guard upon seeing the battlefield.

"Rock throw."

"Water gun."

A chunk of stone was torn from the platform to be launched at the tiny fish Pokémon even as a spout of water shot out from the pool. The rock hit the Water gun and knocked it of course. The rock lost its power and easily allowed Chinchou to dodge it.

"Rockslide and jump to the next platform"

"Bubble beam, widespread."

The platform Beda stood upon crumbled into boulders and shot at the Chinchou even as a substantial number of bubbles floated around in room, several hit Beda as she moved to the next platform even as the massive amount of rock smacked into the fish Pokémon.

"Hit Larvitar with Confuse ray."

"Catch the Confuse ray with Bite and Screech."

A beam of ghostly energy shot from Chinchou as Beda snapped her jaws closed as the beam hit them with dark energy writhing around it. As Beda landed back down on the platform before letting out a cacophony of noise that caused Chinchou to scream in pain as every person in the room held hands over their ears and winced.

"Follow up with Rock throw."

Lily shouted something that was lost in the dying noise as a boulder slammed into the disorientated Chinchou. It smacked into the weakened fish and knocked it into the side of the pool as Beda followed up with Bite to finish off the Chinchou.

As Lily's Pokémon was knocked unconscious Beda landed back on the platform and with a grin upon her face turned back to Stlix as the glowing light of evolution overtook her form. The squat form of a larvitar shifted with the corona of white light filled up to a diamond shape that gently touched the ground.

As the light faded away Beda pushed of the platform to levitate slightly. She moved closer to Stlix and looked at him, Stlix jumped onto the platform for a moment and looked her over before gripping her armoured form in a light hug.

"Well Beda the pupitar it is good to meet you." He squeezed slightly again before moving back to his trainer's square. "Thank you, we can continue our battle now." He said to the Gym leaders, as Daisy assumed position in the square.

"Don't worry Stlix it is good to seen bonds between Pokémon and trainer." She said as she released another Pokémon. Similar in shape to the seel the flash of light revealed a sealeo. The water and ice type attacks would be significantly damaging to Beda and she would be too unused to her form to dodge properly.

"Powder snow."

"Iron defence."

A dense cloud of frozen particulates shot from Sealeo as Beda's form started glowing with steel energy. The ice energy was ineffective against the defensive move and cooled the water around the platform.

"Dark pulse."

"Brine."

The salty water shot at the pupitar as an orb of dark energy collided with the Ball Roll Pokémon, the Brine carved a gouge into the armour of Beda and knocked her flat. Stlix then proceeded to recall her as her current form was primarily to prepare to become a tyranitar and massive damage could hurt her a lot.

Stlix then sent out the other Pokémon he wished to battle with, Geodude. Whilst Tyrunt would have been resistant to more of Sealeo's moves, Geodude had a greater move pool to work with and attack at range with. Geodude would take sizable damage from water type moves but is more likely to take out the weakened sealeo.

"Rock polish into Smack down."

"Brine, again and again."

Geodude sped forward with the increased speed of Rock polish, shifting left and right to dodge the repeated Brine shots. Geodude smacked his fist hard into Sealeo's ribs, and knocked the seal Pokémon out of the water.

"Rollout."

The Rollout dead on hit the flying Pokémon's head and dazed it as it was bashed onto a platform.

"Again."

The move hit dead on the sealeo's head again as it was smashed onto another platform.

"Finish it, Smack down." The glowing fist knocked Sealeo out of bounds its eyes rolling, winning the match as Daisy recalled Sealeo. They motioned for Stlix to leave and meet them in the antechamber. Geodude clambered onto his shoulders as he walked out and as he left he saw the trio leaving as well.

In the antechamber he met Daisy, Lily and Violet congratulated him upon the women along with Geodude, technically he hadn't lost a Pokémon as he had recalled them to prevent excessive pain. They offered their assistance with helping Corsola with learning water type moves if he needed it and any other water types he caught.

When he was back in the Pokémon Centre and sat within his room, Geodude sat with him he praised the small rock creature even as he rearranged his pack for tomorrows journey. With the praise another evolution took place as Geodude's form enlarged slightly.

He was becoming a Graveler.
