Chapter 7
Anger was fully bubbling inside Mamoru as he marched out of the arcade. He just could not stand the ebony haired girl anymore. She had been slowly and slowly getting on his nerves but today for some reason her words flipped his lid. He just could not stand how harsh she was, especially to Usagi. A part of him snarled in anger at the exchange he witnessed in the arcade and he just could not keep his temper in check at all.
So he just walked off before he did or said even more words which he would have regretted come his rationality. In his wrathful mind, he was marching through the crowded streets, though people around him seemed to be parting like the red sea. That caused him to frown at first but he realised later on that his face must be reflecting the fury he felt brimming up inside his mind. Though he didn't care enough to try and even change that. His mind was too scrambled.
Only thing which seemed to be helping his temper was walking. He didn't even know where he was aimlessly going. He was just charging through until he found himself directly at the park. He stopped at the sight of the green field and froze at the familiar sight. For a reason he didn't even know he felt a bit calmer in the park. That itself surprised him. Nature usually did not do a good job of calming him as it was said but the anger seemed to have simmered down some notches. He looked around himself to observe the park in the light of day, something which he usually wasn't in the receiving end of. Usually he was in the park at night time due to numerous youma attack. He actually wondered why they always attacked here. Was there a portal which linked the Dark Kingdom to this particular place? He genuinely wondered then.
After few seconds he just shook his head at the absurdity of that thought process. He was just now thinking ridiculous things. He turned his head around and was about to walk away when his eyes noticed a familiar blonde sitting at a bench just ahead of him. The blonde odangos stood out loud. He blinked in surprise. What were the odds of him appearing wherever odango came too? Very slim. Though a part of him wondered just why did he react…so, so angrily when Rei shouted at Usagi?
He himself picked on the blonde, on numerous occasions for fun. He just couldn't help it. But the sight of someone else putting her down like that just made him furious. And his reaction only threw his mind in confusion. Did he care for her?
'No! Its not possible.'
He denied mentally. Not being able to even think of it as a possibility. He couldn't care for her. He was supposed to love his Princess wasn't he? So it was impossible for him to feel for anyone else. Yet he found himself making his way towards the bench occupied by the blonde girl who occupied his mind. Once he was directly beside the bench, he sat down and turned to look at her. Usagi had her knees pulled up against her chest and had her arms wrapped around it. He clenched his fist when he saw that her eyes were red, clear sign of crying.
Then the most horrifying thought entered his head. Did his own remarks against her had ever caused her to cry? The thought of him ever causing this state of her dismayed him. Erasing it from his head, he slide closer beside her and spoke up.
"You do know I never mean any crap I tell you right?" he spoke up, staring at her intently to notice her reaction. As soon as he spoke up, she jumped, as if shocked and then turned towards his own face. She blinked twice while staring at him. Her sky blue eyes clashing with his own navy blue eyes. He could see confusion in it.
"What?" she looked at him, not understanding just what he meant. He looked away, feeling embarrassed as he had hoped that she would get it automatically, without him explaining it.
"Well, when I call you stuff, um. I don't really mean it, like Rei did. Just thought I'd clear that" he said it, not staring at her eyes.
Usagi kept staring at the dark haired boy sitting beside her. His stance so different than the one she is used to. He looked nervous. How about that. Though she actually didn't mind his company, surprisingly enough. Yes they quarrelled but his words did not have the sting with Rei's did. And she had actually seen concern in his eyes for her in the arcade. So with a small smile she spoke.
"Oh, I-I kinda knew. I mean your tone and hers lately are very different" she said it while staring at him. He seemed to stiffen and then looked up to stare at her. Though when he looked at her, she herself froze. She hadn't realised how close he was to her until he looked up, their faces barely apart. Immediately she blushed, while mentally she was berating herself. Why on earth was she not moving away from him? Putting some distance? She just couldn't bring herself to do that action.
Her eyes were wide as she stared at Mamoru, wondering if he will move away, for she certainly couldn't, for reasons she didn't even know. Though he didn't make any move, seeming to be frozen in the same state as well, as they both looked at each other, somehow caught in a bubble.
Though their bubble was suddenly shattered by loud screams. Eyes wide, Usagi turned around again and then gasped. For standing in the middle of a park was a youma which seemed to resemble a dragon, which seemed to have captured a few people already in the park, while hovering above the youma was Zoicite who had a smirk in his face. Suddenly he turned his head and his eyes were fixed in hers, causing fear to root inside her.
There we go. There's more of our ship in this chapter. Hope you enjoyed this chapter. Up next I will be updating 'What If The Storm Ends?' with a new chapter and also I will be staring another new SM story. I know, I already have a few WIP Sailor Moon fics, but I have another idea for an Angel & Vampire Sailor Moon alternate universe fanfic. So I will be posting that and also updating 'What If The Storm Ends'. So look out and review if you're liking where this story is going.
