Starnose the hunter

Stalks the fields of wheat

He will bring his humans

A lovely little treat

Maybe a dead rabbit

A shrew or vole perhaps

Even a stunned pigeon

Will get dropped in their laps

To him it is his honour

It gives him such a lift

To those who are his family

To offer such a gift

Starnose has a brother

A ball of fluff show off

A long haired ginger kitty

A somewhat aloof toff

The brothers name is Hoony

A lazy, hairy, thing

Getting him to move is like

Getting the roads to sing

He'd spend his time loafing in the sun

Then rush about in a great mad burst

He said lazing built up lots of energy

And too much of that was the worst

Together they sometimes met Skimbleshanks

As nearby his train would stop

He'd regale them with tales of the rails

Then back on the loco he'd hop

The brothers live a happy life

As content as they can be

For they're a pair of house cats

A good life if you ask me
