A little black ball of fuzz

As cute as cute can be

She mostly knows what she's at

She's asleep on a setee

But the home that shs's in

Its not her human's flat

She's pinched a space on a neighbours sofa

She's the house pirate cat

Her human family call her Raven

The Jellicles call her Dollar

Her fur is black with the odd white hair

And a nice blue tinkly collar

She is not the biggest of cats

No scars mark her face

Fighting happens to everone else

Conflict ain't her way

With a staccato meow

She was let in

Purring with thanks

as she was soaked to the skin

A cat in the rain

Is the sorriest sight

and a dry comfy couch

Is often just right.

All that was then

and this is the now

She lies asleep

with her mind in the clouds

Flying with birds

and catching each one

Swooping upon mice

No end to the fun

Somewhen soon she must awake

And to home she'll make her way

For soon her stomach will pipe up

And hunger has it's say

She doesnt want to up and shift

Out into the storm

Until then she's happy here

Where she's dry and warm
