Mamoswine was known across the world, they were one of the strongest Ice types and one of the strongest Ground types and were often the ace in one of those specialists' teams. It was why Stlix was slightly suspicious of Giovanni for giving the Swinub to Ash, someone didn't just give up one of those Pokémon, if they couldn't train it, they sold it as they were extremely powerful.

Piloswine were far more common in the wild, Mamoswine were similar to the Dratini line in the fact that their second form was strong enough to dominate in their surrounding area. And that quirk in their evolutionary line meant that even an untrained Piloswine was extremely strong.

As Piloswine were natural Ground types their natural moves would hurt Corsola badly but even as Corsola was weak to Ground Piloswine was weak too Water. Corsola was mostly fresh as well, only slightly tired from using all the moves she had but she hadn't been hit by Wartortle.

"Sand tomb." Ash called from his side, attempting to entrap Corsola.

"Water gun, blast out the tomb." Stlix ordered, trying to use a type advantage to destroy the move. The ground around Corsola rose steadily, forming walls to surround Corsola before falling upon the Pokémon to trap them beneath the earth. For Pokémon that couldn't naturally dig or needed air to breathe it was a death sentence if they couldn't fight their way out of it.

Corsola blasted the rising walls with gouts of pressurised waters, breaking them down where it hit but Corsola hadn't learnt a stronger Water type move and the limited Water gun couldn't destroy all of it.

She was covered with a mound of sand as the floor started to sink beneath her, she had boosted her own defensive and regenerative abilities and was therefore not yet taking large amount of damage from the attack.

"Use Ancient power." Ash shouted as he saw Corsola slowly shifting the ground to dig herself out of the ground.

"Hit it with Ice beam." Stlix shouted. The Ancient power would hurt more as she was trapped and could not easily deflect or divert the attack.

Piloswine grunted and a stream of Rock type energy wound around him as it tore rock from the ground to launch at the Coral Pokémon. Ancient power was an attack that could simultaneously empower the Pokémon using it, increasing their all-round capabilities.

A beam of frost shot at the catapulted rocks that homed in on Corsola's position, the ice beam froze the first three attacks, stopping them mid-air and driving them into the ground but the five behind them brutally slammed into Corsola's shell.

A large silver crack slivered across the pink of Corsola's shell and as Stlix frowned as he saw the damage, whilst her shell was extremely durable Corsola's innards were far weaker, an attack of similar strength could do serious, even permanent damage.

Motioning to the referee Stlix raised her Pokeball and recalled the weakened Water type. She had done well, especially when her species were not dedicated battlers and against a powerful Pokémon like a Piloswine.

He considered for a moment as he looked at Ash, it was clear that his team had gotten far stronger from when they had battled on the beach and so with a small smile Stlix raised his next pokeball and pressed the release.

A massive serpentine form appeared on the field and deafened the audience with a roar. Gyarados was a prideful Pokémon, he cared for Stlix a lot, but his nature was of a dragon and dragons were not a meek genetic typing. As soon as he was released, he had let out a challenging roar and a plume of fire directly upwards in a showy fashion.

The audience were shell shocked looking at the fiery Gyarados, their moniker of the Atrocious Pokémon was well earned but Gyarados was a Water Flying type whereas this specific one clearly had the Fire type.

After he settled, he fixed a baleful glare upon the Piloswine opposite him. Doctor Rasen had confirmed that Gyarados did not carry the Intimidate ability most Gyarados did he had not been able to find out what ability Gyarados did have.

However, even without the Intimidate ability a massive fire breathing serpent that made the Atrocious Pokémon look like an errant schoolboy could terrify almost anything without much difficulty.

Ash actually flinched slightly after he got over his shock at seeing the massive Pokémon. Gyarados did not care at all for the beings opposite him and it showed in how he carried himself. The referee called the battle to a start seconds after Ash flinched and Stlix immediately called out a move.

"Hyper beam." The powerful move could inflict massive damage, and with Ash still shocked at the sight of Gyarados he would react slower.

A ball of energy formed in Gyarados's maw, pulling in energy from both the Pokémon and the surrounding environment. Hyper beam was known the world over for being one of the strongest moves a Pokémon could learn. No other move could claim to beat it in sheer power, rival it was a possibility but not beat.

Gyarados let loose the charged Hyper beam at the Piloswine who was unable to dodge quick enough and without an alert trainer. The Swine Pokémon tried to shuffle away but its form was better suited to charging forward, the white energy lance struck the large, humped form a slammed it across the battlefield.

Where Piloswine landed a small crater deformed the toughened wall, the Hyper beam had shattered the Psychic protections and damaged the wall behind it, seeing the damage Stlix winced slightly. The hit would hurt Piloswine a lot and the officials may ask him to return Gyarados as the tournament was for newer trainers and should not have Pokémon of that level of strength.

I may have to change my schedule. It is getting harder to upload shorter chapters daily so I may post once or twice a week with chapter two or three times the size. Leave a comment if you approve or disapprove.
