A/N: OMG! I just wrote this on an iPad in one day! Here is a 'FAN'fiction on Draco's review to the CC. So since this is a fanfic, it's clear that the characters don't belong to me. They belong to J.K Rowling.
Let it begin...
With a very loud thud that seemed to scare the birds away from the branches of the trees out of the window, Draco Malfoy put a book roughly on the coffee table.
The birds began flapping their wings as fast as they could before a danger occurs. A human was furious and they knew it very clearly. A group of birds that were the same species, started heading towards the sky, looking for a better branch of a tree they could sit on - somewhere peaceful, quiet and not somewhere around a scary human being. They were flying away and was lost from the view.
This had frightened Astoria and she looked at him immediately as she passed the table. She saw her husband looking absolutely angry, annoyed and downcast. Letting out a loud sigh, he leaned his back on the sofa, closing his eyes. He rested his head on the back of the sofa and rubbed his eyebrows with his fingertips, trying to calm down himself, not believing what he had read. It was pathetic - he thought.
Astoria stared at him with a blank expression forming on her face. "You are upset. Again. And if you don't tell me why, I can't help you, Draco," said she.
Draco's eyes flew open and was glad that she was there. "I'll tell you in a minute," he said, still trying to calm down himself.
Astoria made her way to sit beside him on the same sofa next to the ornate marble fireplace. The heat of the fire tempered themselves from the cold weather outside. The big fire roared wildly and the light from it reflected the walls of the room with a mixture of red and orange light. Both of them were so close to the fireplace that they felt warm and cosy.
"It's because of the book, isn't it?" she asked, "I've seen Scorpius looking miserable while reading this and you are the same. If it's upsetting you, don't read it any further. It'll only ruin your morning," she said wisely.
"I've finished it," he said, throwing the book savagely from the coffee table which landed on the floor with another loud thud. Another sound that frightened Astoria again.
"What's the reason you're angry?" she asked quietly, trying to comfort him.
"It's killed you!" he said directly.
Astoria was speechless. She tried to find words to continue talking to him, "Did it?" that's all that came out of her mouth.
"They just took you away from me, left me missing you. Devastated. Lonely," he said, "I don't want to lose you like that!" his voice was rising a bit.
"How old was I when I died?" Astoria asked curiously.
"Scorpius was going to start his third year. So... you were probably thirty-five."
"Look at reality. I'm now past thirty-five. And I'm here with you," she said cheerfully.
"You've just entered my life and... they just can't take you away from me. You and Scorpius are my world," he had to be honest, "You have changed me, you know. Shaped me the man I became," Draco was trying to choose his words carefully, trying to tell her the truth, "I can't be who I am without you. There are so much darkness in this cruel world. Imagine you leaving and I raise Scorpius on my own... there's no guarantee whether I'll lead him to the wrong path."
"I'm completely sure you are not leading him to the wrong path and you won't. He's having a great childhood."
"I still need you. It won't be pleasant to live a life without you. The hatred man with a bad reputation, living a life alone... It's not something I'll ever cope with, Astoria. I'll never get over it," he said sadly, looking heartbroken.
There was a pause and he started talking again, "I don't know where I would've been if you hadn't come to my life and loved me after the war ended. You've made me feel loved and I can't let you leave me like this."
"I don't think I'll ever leave you unless if a crisis happens. I bet nothing can harm us if we stay safe. If we're fortunate enough, we'll grow old together," Astoria said, smiling at him. "Anything else bothering you?"
"They gave Scorpius a hard life at Hogwarts. Getting bullied and teased by the students."
"Oh no, not my son. That's horrible," Astoria said sorrowfully.
"He is quite innocent – a big target for the bullies. I was a bully, and I know clearly who gets targeted."
"He told me that he enjoys school though, I think he's okay."
"But getting rumoured as the son of Voldemort?! I cannot let my son go through that," Draco's voice was rising again, "That's the most stupid thing I've ever heard. Is there any doubt that I am his father?"
Astoria shook her head, fiercely. "He'll never be rumoured this way. I hate the way my son going through that as well."
"Taking you away from my life, making my son get tortured – that's way too extreme!" Draco was ferocious, looking as though he was going to explode. He felt like it was a curse on him and his family.
Astoria gasped at the mention of Scorpius getting tortured. Then she said, "Draco, no one's going to harm Scorpius or me. And you will never be alone. I'm right here for you and standing by you with everything you are going through,." she paused and began, "After all, it's just a book... Are you okay now?"
He cleared his throat, "Having you and Scorpius with me, I am more than okay - I'm happy." He smiled at her and she loved seeing the happy version of Draco Malfoy.
"I'm happy to have you too," Astoria smiled back at him warmly and she put her arms around his shoulders, resting her chin on a shoulder of his. They both melted on each other's embrace, feeling themselves warming up from the heat from the fire and from their bodies. That's when Draco wrapped his arms around her slowly and steadily. He was relieved that his soulmate was still with him, cuddling him. Draco couldn't stop himself from smirking broadly, feeling lucky that she didn't leave him in reality.
Suddenly, Astoria looked out of the window and saw the sky brighter than before. Which meant the sun had finally risen. She broke apart from his hug and said, "I forgot to wish you good morning. Wait here, I'll bring you breakfast."
Draco watched her leaving to the kitchen. He was then alone in the sofa, the book still on the floor. Without knowing what he should do with the book, he got up from the sofa and picked it up in disgust. Kneeling in front of the fireplace, he stared at the roaring fire, holding the book.
Astoria appeared a few minutes later, leaning on the doorframe, and found that Draco was up to something. She just watched. There she saw - to her shock, Draco was about to throw the book to the fire.
"Draco?" hearing her voice, he noticed her presence and turned his head behind to look at her. "Are you sure it's necessary what you are doing?"
"We certainly don't want it, Astoria," Draco tried to talk logically, "So I don't see what's the point of keeping it."
Draco finally was about to do what was on his mind... he turned his head back to the fireplace and threw the book right on the fire. He'd done it, he'd actually done it, and he just couldn't believe it. It was burning.
Seeing this scene, Astoria's jaw dropped. A wry, cheeky smirk was playing at the corners of Draco's mouth. He turned to Astoria and she noticed the evil grin on his face. He did look pleased with himself by what he had done.
Seeing the book burning, Draco was smirking so openly as ever that Astoria thought it looked as though his face was going to split in half.
"Uh... okay?" she didn't know what to say.
Draco dusted both of his hands together before sitting back on the same sofa. No worries now – he thought. He snatched a newspaper and began going through the titles written in large black letters, looking for an interesting news to read, and lowered the newspaper as he heard the footsteps of the youngest Malfoy of the family coming from upstairs - his son Scorpius Malfoy.
Scorpius rubbed his eyes as he had woken up from his deep sound sleep.
"Good morning, Scorpius," Draco greeted him with a smile.
"Morning, dad," Scorpius replied. After he was done rubbing his eyes, he saw the grin on his dad's face which explained that he had done something that he was happy about.
Scorpius recognised him turning his head at the fireplace. The roaring fire was reflecting on the circle black pupils surrounded by grey irises of Draco's eyes. Immediately, Scorpius looked at the fire to see what was going on. There saw it... his dad had burned a familiar–looking book. Scorpius recognised the book instantly.
Draco knew what a bookworm his son was. He'd read the book as well and probably despised it as much as he did.
The corners of the book were turning completely black as it was burning. White pages were now all black. A massive hole was made in the middle of the book. Some pages turned into ashes. There was now a big pile of cinder on the fireplace because of the book. The roaring fire became more red, bigger and bigger and smoke increased.
There was nothing for Draco to worry about. The love of his life was still there with him and his son was safe. His family's safety was everything he cared about. They gave him a reason to laugh, smile, live longer and enjoy life. Losing one of them would make his world fall apart forever. And that wasn't happening.
Draco Malfoy was one of the men who had a happily ever after. The two people who meant the absolute world to him were right by his side and he had nothing to panic about.
Thank you for reading.
I just hate the fact that Draco loses his soulmate. I mean, c'mon, he deserves happiness after all the things he'd gone through. God, just give him a happily ever! What's the good reason behind Astoria's death? No good reason! 😢😤😭!
Since, I've signed up in FanFiction, so I thought I'll make him always have her. After all, this is what fanfics are for! 😉😀😁!
Although I have read some fanfics that mentions her death and the authors helped us to cope with it. So I'm grateful to them since they helped. Also some YouTube videos people made were good too. One of them had Draco use the time turner to bring her back, I dunno if that's possible... I still prefer he'll always have her. Even though Astoria is an underrated character and Drastoria is an underrated ship, I can still feel how they feel for each other and want them to be a happy couple.
