Chapter 2 – To the War Abyss
Machfiet follows General Thajumn and Commander Yuplin to the strategy room. Inside the room, three people are waiting for their arrival. With a glance, Machfiet knows that they are his team members. Hanumanan, a huge man with mustache and scars, holding a gigantic minigun, looks at Machfiet slowly.
Hanumanan: Machfiest, you are finally here. We have been waiting for you and the general's arrival. I have been sitting here for too long, and my bones are becoming sour. What do we do now?
His voice is deep and loud; we can tell it is the voice of an experienced warrior. Then, a guy standing next to him speaks. Unlike Hanumanan, he is quiet and calm. He carries a sniper rifle and small flying blades. He is the silent assassin type, who can terminate his enemy without making a single noise in the shadow.
Tilkin: Hanumanan is right. If we don't act, we may lose our last chance of launching a counterattack to our enemies.
Vanushey: You two, hash! Don't bother Machfiet. He also had his duty.
Vanushey, the only woman in Machfiet's team. Comparing to Hanumanan and Tilkin, she is shorter than them. But still, she is taller than the average woman. Her voice can tell that she is a kind person who is filled with embracement. Unlike the two men, she has no weapons like guns and blades. However, she uses her telekinesis power to fly her drones and attacks her foes. She can hunt down the target from any direction without blind spots that make her an efficient suppressor.
Machfiest: Sorry for making you wait.
Machfiest recalls who they are complete. He and his teammates grew up and trained together. In other words, they are the soul brothers and sisters who are connected by strong bonds. Machfiest is sentimental because he feels that he hasn't seen them for a long time. He doesn't know why, but the future has deeded, unchangeable.
General Thajumn: Everyone is here now, good. Let's start. Come to the table and look. As you can see, Charum Hakkor is divided into four main defense sections, North, South, East, and West.
On the table in the center of the room, a hologram of Charum Hakkor pops up.
General Thajumn: Admiral Forthenco and his fleets have deployed in the North filed. The 'Hieros' are defending the West Field. And the remaining forces and orbital defense systems are gathered in the East and South Field.
Vanushey: 'Hieros?' (from Greek Hieros Locos.) The elite division protects the acolytes?
General Thajumn: Indeed. At this point, we need more soldiers. We have to leverage everything we can to match the number against the enemy forces.
Commander Yuplin: The East and South Fields have a lot of debris formed by asteroids and broken ships from the previous battles. We will launch guerrilla warfare in these two Fields. We do have orbital defense systems. However, compared to the other two Fields, they are fragile.
General Thajumn: That's why we need you, Machfiet. As a mobile squadron, your team will be sent to the South Field to push back the enemy forces. Then, to the East, North, and West, in counterclockwise, you will support each Field to delay the enemy advancing and rendezvous with the 'Hieros' at the West Field. I know this is an uneasy task, but we trust you…
In the middle of the conversation, an emergency siren started to ring.
General Thajumn: Signaler! What was it?
Signaler: It is the Forerunners! They have breached the East Field defense line. Their ground forces have landed on Charum Hakkor. We need back up immediately! We… (Scream and explosion sounds).
General Thajumn: Signaler? Can you hear me? Signaler? Damn it. We need to change the plan now! Machfiest, I need you at the West field NOW! We can't allow the Forerunners to enter the facility. Commander Yuplin, you need to hurry up your recovery process. I am afraid we don't have much time left.
Commander Yuplin: Understood.
Commander Yuplin leaves the room with dashing. The attack is expected but is too fast.
General Thajumn: Start the evacuation for the women and children. Ready the shuttles.
Operator: But sir…
General Thajumn: I know we have nowhere to hide, but we cannot lose our children, our next generations.
Even though if the children survive the war, they cannot escape from the cruel wars. General Thajumn: I know we have nowhere to hide, but we cannot lose our children, our next generations.
Even though if their children can survive the war, they cannot escape from the war. The Forerunners would still slay their children until the humans are completely extinct. No matter what righteous justice the Humans carry, the losers of the war will never be able to prove their rights. The winners of the war are always justified. To avoid such a consequence, General Thajumn is making a bet for a hopeless future. He wants to, at least, leave the trace of human civilization in this endless universe.
General Thajumn: Machfeit, go to the hanger. There are "Vultures" (ancient human version Pelicans). They will help you reach the East Field shield wall.
Machfiest: Copy that. Everyone, move!
General Thajumn: Good luck, and don't die.
War can take many lives. It is the worst way of denying. Instead of using voices to communicate, people use weapons. It can turn into an extreme dispute. Both sides cannot hear what the other sides are yelling at each other because the voices are too loud. Thus, each side misunderstands their opponents. Hatred, envy, and resentment, all kinds of dark emotions are created during the process. Eventually, people will become blind and forget how to see others' faces and be trapped in their own delusions. The minds will become narrow and lose the ability to think. In the end, all five senses are losing. And the madness will turn people into handicapped…
