*Chapter 249*

With the messy drape of his hand to cover the gape of his mouth, Lash huffed a shaky noise of pure, unmitigated shock and furrowed his brow into a tight grimace. He scoffed a breath and finally covered his face amidst the tight clench of his eyes, simply as if he could hardly believe what his eyes had landed on. His ears prickled to the cute, dewy noises of arcade cabinets beyond the shallow corridor he was at the end of, though as he reopened his becoming-teary gaze, he peered hard at the gorgeous, vintage cabinet tight in his line of sight, glowing like the sun, his home, at long last. With no hesitation, Lash pressed around the mess of binders and stacks of papers that cluttered the ground of Litwak's office, and once he approached Turbotime's loved cabinet, he grunted a trembly noise of choked up, bittersweet grief and grappled his hands to the side panels of the control buttons and panels on the front of the cabinet's face, he urgently peered into his reflection in the dusty glass of the powered-down cabinet, and like a child reunited with its mother, upon fearful separation, Lash wasted no time in unloading the decades of tears and grief built up in his poor, shivering system.

With a hard noise of a cry, a choke of entire, rocked disbelief, he grit his teeth hard and grappled Turbotime's cabinet and assessed the loved buttons. Although dusty and unused, it was still in beautiful shape, the cute show of red buttons and knobs, the cabinet's panel art of Turbo, Lash and Nox, the vintage font of the name of their home, Lash squeezed his eyes shut and allowed tears to freely fall. He uttered a cough of a few cries into the dusty glass of the cabinet as he hung his head, tears splattered the glossy panel below him, and with a gentle thud, he shoved the crown of his head to the bend of the cabinet's glassy screen and continued to grip the edge of the knob's chunk of a front panel, white-knuckled in desperation. He freely cried into the face of it, knowing everything he had ever dreamed of had built up to this raw, incredible moment of reunited love, and it was here in these seconds of becoming-uncontrollable sobbing did he understand that absolutely everything was riding on winning this fight, a battle he sought to complete no matter what, detriment that now included his original home game.

With caution, Berri and Wren urgently barreled into Litwak's office upon hearing Lash's cries, and with a skid of both their heels, Berri firmly assessed just what was going on. Upon seeing Lash hunched over Turbotime's glorious, beautiful cabinet, Berri slapped her hands over her mouth and gaped in a recoil of shock, a knockback that nearly brought her to her knees, and upon seeing Lash's strong, masculine back heave amidst the cries of pure, blissful reunited desperation, Berri's eyes immediately welled with tears. She scoffed a shaky chuckle of whole disbelief as her and Wren were frozen, poised in Litwak's dim, messy office, Turbotime practically glowed like a beacon, as if to welcome all three beings in the room home, the raw fact that all three of them were now properly tied to it by code, in one way or another. Lash grit his teeth and pushed into the cabinet, nearly two movements away from wrapping his arms around it and cradling it in his arms. He finally reopened his eyes, softened his stance and peered to the two over his shoulder; his face was wet with tears, he looked entirely rocked off of the face of the Earth.

"It's here," Lash sweetly croaked, his nasally tone was glossed in boyish glee, as if nothing else mattered, ever. He choked a teary laugh and stood up straighter, and though he eased off of the cabinet, he still kept one hand to the control panel, "H-He kept it..."

"I-I can't believe it," Berri staggered through freely flowing tears as she cautiously approached, and with such, she slid her hand to the side of it and assessed the lovely condition it was in. As her and Lash caught in a whirlwind of enchanted eye contact of raw, renewed disbelief, "Turbotime... I-it's here!"

"God dammit, you guys," Wren barked in irritation as he firmly wiped his eyes of tears that escaped his eyes, though as the two peered to him, all three erupted in sweet delight as Wren did whatever he could to keep from full-on crying, like Berri and Lash, "I've been keeping it together this ENTIRE time."

"We can go home," Lash's voice wavered with the further onslaught of tears as his gaze peered into the powered-off glass, he shook his head and finally peered into Berri's eyes, "We ALL can."

"All three of us have Turbotime coding, now," Berri whimpered with a smile as she continued to free her cheeks of tears, though as she urgently looked about for Turbotime's plug, she bent over and pulled it up with her. Lash raised his eyebrows in hot surprise as Berri gingerly sagged the hefty power cord into Lash's shaking hands, "You do the honors... We gotta move fast. Plug'er in."

"H-Hopefully she still powers on," Lash meeped cutely through continued tears, and as he carefully moved around Berri, he pushed closer to an outlet on the wall it shared with the cabinet, though upon preparing to bend over and see Turbotime in all of its glory, once more, Lash jolted to a stop and caught with a bulletin board hung on the wall, near his line of sight. He narrowed his gaze and quickly caught with the word 'Turbotime', alongside a whole slew of messy bullet points, math equations, and all sorts of lines linking certain notions together. Lash relaxed his shoulders and eagerly peered to it, "Wait, wait... This... Diagram, it's about Turbotime."

"What?" Wren huffed in surprise as both him and Berri urgently pressed closer to where Lash was standing, so to assess just what Mr. Litwak had been up to.

Lash's golden eyes urgently dart about the messy bulletin board, and with the further rise of shock, Lash felt his pupils tighten with the sight of his own whole name listed. The words 'Whiplash Kieran Black' written in pen, alongside Nox's, Throttle's and Turbo's whole names, he shook his head in hot surprise and urgently pushed his finger to it, so to bring Berri's and Wren's attention to the bizarre sight. In the mess, it was clear that Litwak was struggling to get the game to work due to the absence of Turbotime's main four. Lash huffed a shaky chuckle and felt his heart surge in rapid fire goodness, the whole idea that they were desired and needed by the man himself, Lash shook his head and finally choked a teary noise of disbelief and urgently peered back to Berri and Wren's surprised, also teary faces.

"H-He's been trying to get Turbotime to work," Lash stabbed in a further show of desperation, he peered back to the board and allowed his glassy eyes to climb all over it, "H-he's been doing everything he could to figure out why the game won't run... It's because we were gone from it. Mr. Litwak, himself, wanted us back."

"This feels like a dream," Berri choked a giggle and continued to wipe her eyes, she shook her head and eased her hand to the loved knobs and buttons on Turbotime's face, the beautiful, vintage artwork and font proudly displaying the characters and name, Berri grinned and was glad to catch eyes with Lash, "We gotta plug Turbotime back in, on the floor... Program it with you four, and everything."

"Give it an upgrade," Wren added with a nod, which only brightened Berri's eyes, "Is that a possibility?"

"Yeah, it is," Lash scoffed a shaky chuckle, unzipped his jacket and gently pulled out the very brick that was holding all of Sugar Rush's information. He jostled it a little and continued to catch grinning eyes with Berri and Wren, "Both Sugar Rush and Turbotime are gunna get the pack of protection and upgrades of their entire coded little lives. I'm here to set this all straight..."

"THAT'S why you kept Sugar Rush on that hard drive?" Wren wondered cutely as he came alongside Berri and rubbed her back, due to her continuously trying to collect herself, Lash grinned and looked down to the very plug that would turn Turbotime on after likely years of it being powered down.

"... Turn it on, Lash," Berri chirped cutely with a nod as the two caught eyes in a whirl, and before Berri could egg him on more, he bent over, shoved the plug into the outlet and firmly stood to see the product of electricity being pumped into his home game.

Like living a dream, the screen illuminated and quickly began to chime the cute, 8-bit tune that it was adorned with, and with such a show of the track, Vidrix city and the gorgeous landscape alongside it, Lash covered his mouth and allowed his eyes to soak in the bright lights. Like looking through a telescope that peered into heaven, Lash crossed his arms, messily covered his mouth and grimaced a silent little cough of continued disbelief that any of this was happening. Eager to keep collected, it all came crumpling the second Berri began to cutely wrangle him into a hug, and with every single last kiss of acceptance the universe could give him, he easily accepted Berri's advances and gripped her into a tight hug. With another continuous tug, Berri giggled and was successful in wrangling Wren into the group hug, and with the three sat in teary, smiling silence amidst the cool blips and noises that properly emit from Turbotime's working cabinet, the loading screen only began to loop due to not being able to properly segue to actual gameplay. Lash heaved a shaky sigh into Berri's shoulder and gripped her to him, the smack of emotions that overflowed his heart, the three finally peeled from each other in a slow unfurl, all three were a mess of tears and smiles.

"For User's sakes," Lash croaked as all three blurt into nasally laughter, "I was NOT prepared for this... I always had suspicion that Turbotime was kept, but I didn't think..."

"... Mr. Litwak was actually doing everything he could to get it all up and running," Berri whimpered as the three hovered in the sweetness of Turbotime's glowing screen, nostalgia that hit Lash between the eyes.

"Makes me wonder what happened to Sweet Streets," Lash grunted as he finally grappled his shirt, under his now unzipped jacket, and wiped his eyes.

"Alright... This is great progress, but we can't dawdle, as much as we want to," Berri mumbled as she, too, finally freed her face of tears; Wren bobbed a nod and rubbed Lash's upper back in a show of brotherly camaraderie, though Berri put her hands on her hips and finally heaved a nasally sigh of relief, a wave she was eager to keep riding, "Tell us the game plan, from here, dude. What exactly needs to be done before we go back to Tron?"

"User, well... First step is unplug the router," Lash mumbled as he continued to cutely wipe his eyes free of tears; him, Berri and Wren shred small laughs of understanding as they began to animate with purpose, the main directive of this trip. Lash tensed into motion, sat down at Mr. Litwak's computer and began to pick at hacking past the password, "Unplug the router, beef Sugar Rush with virus protection and all that jazz, and get Turbotime up to that same level."

"What do you want us to do in the meantime?" Berri rushed as Lash successfully breezed past the password lock on Mr. Litwak's computer, he began immediately sourcing terminals, web browsers, all sorts of nonsense beyond Berri and Wren.

"Unplug the router in exactly five minutes... I still need to get a few things from the internet," Lash diligently instructed, his fierce, golden eyes harbored shrunken pupils as he scanned the blinding glow of the computer screen. He finally stabbed his eyes to Turbotime's powered-on cabinet and back to Wren and Berri, "Guys, now that we're here... I've been thinking about something, lately... A dream of mine that has come up."

"What is it?" Wren wondered with a chuckle as both him and Berri took their coats off, Lash quickly followed suit and began plugging the brick of a hard drive up to Mr. Litwak's gorgeous, heavy-duty computer, not something a typical old man with a retro arcade would be seen with.

"This is the only chance we can physically pick what game station our games could sit in," Lash muttered in a cocky fashion, the toothy grin that sprawled his face, he eyed Wren and Berri and continued typing on the keyboard without looking, to which Berri and Wren bugged their eyes and stabbed their gazes tight to one another, "I don't know... Why don't you piece that all together and tell me what you'd do, in this instance of literally having ALL of that power."

"... Arcadia," Wren hissed a whisper of boyish wonder as Berri's eyes lit up, Lash blurt a chuckle, shook his head and continued to prod away at the blinding computer screen in front of him.

"If you guys don't put every game, under our names, inside Arcadia, this trip will be wasted," Lash erupted with cute laughter, to which Berri and Wren froze in excited, hot knowing, "Arcadia's strip is the newest, safest station. I don't care what needs to happen... Let's ride this wave for as long as we can."

"What if Mr. Litwak moves us back?" Berri worried, to which Lash shook his head and lulled his eyes closed.

"He won't, I'll be leaving him a note," Lash assured, he pointed to the bulletin board behind him, one that confidently displayed his whole name, "Tell him a Mr. Whiplash Kieran Black has one single request. To kindly leave the cabinets be."

Berri and Wren urgently peered to each other, the childlike wonder that wanted to erupt only hovered for Lash's affirmative go-ahead, and with the small chuckle that came from Lash's rib cage, he shook his head and gestured his hand.

"Go, go, do what you will... Just whatever you do, don't unplug the internet until I say so," Lash stated with confidence, he gave Berri and Wren one last twinkle of smiling eye contact, "Have at it, guys."

Berri and Wren immediately tore out of Mr. Litwak's office with a burst of giggling, excited goodness, and with the fumbling of the two still scouring for a dolly, so to better move the heavy cabinets, Lash gently shook his head and began installing the proper software into Sugar Rush's data. Whilst loading, he kindly turned and looked back at the side of his home game cabinet, proudly looping the title screen in dainty confusion, Lash huffed a shaky sigh and reached out to firmly pat the body of it.

"Alright, Vidrix City, you're gunna get the upgrade of a lifetime," Lash stated quietly to the cabinet, "Turbo won't know what hit him."

"Holy User, holy User," Berri hissed and delight excitement as her and Wren rushed to the front of the Arcade, just to where Arcadia Station was sat, a sight they only have ever seen from the outside. Berri knelt down to it, breathed a giggle, tucked her long, dark grey hair behind her ears and peered into the dome of the surge protector's wired unit, "I can't believe we get an outside view of Arcadia!"

"Rather underwhelming when you consider the view from INSIDE of it," Wren mumbled in playful disappointment, though he shrugged and looked about at the cabinets that were nearby, obviously much beefier, newer games that were plugged in, like Mario Kart's brand new double seater cabinet and a few other brand new shooting games. He heaved a shaky sigh and caught sight of Sugar Rush, although a few cabinets off, it was clear the chord could be stretched, "Okay, so... Sugar Rush is something we can't move by ourselves, but we can definitely get Dead Zed and Fix-It Felix Jr. over here."

"Yeah, and then Lash will likely put Turbotime in Arcadia, as well," Berri motioned to the more than available plugs in Arcadia's station, she heaved a shaky sigh and peered right for Sugar Rush's cabinet, though as she stood and began to tenderly approach her home, her heart sunk at the raw sight displayed on both screens of Sugar Rush's loved, old double seater cabinet. A black screen with a hot pink error code across the whole of it. Berri frowned and, although a sad sight, she sagged her hand to the headrest of the nearest seat and shook her head, "Sorry, Sugar Rush... We're getting you the help you need."

"At least everyone is in Dead Zed," Wren mumbled cutely as he stood next to his cousin, though he nervously lofted his gaze to where Dead Zed's cabinet was and worried that somehow, they'd be able to see their family. With every cabinet cutely looping title screens, showcasing characters and looped gameplay, Wren figured it was all safe and they weren't to be noticed unless the Arcade was open.

"Unplug the router!" Lash's deep voice carried from across the arcade, and as Berri and Wren stiffened from their little, tender moment, they both urgently rushed to where the router was plugged in, which was an end plug inside Arcadia; with a firm yank, Berri properly unplugged the internet from its power source and expanded her ribcage.

"Got it!" She loudly called back to Lash, above the calm tinkering noises of the stretch of cabinets her voice carried over.

"Y'think we should... Plug the internet into another location?" Wren mumbled through the grit of his teeth as him and Berri tightly caught eyes, she daintily twirled the unplugged wire about and looked around, as if to easily agree with Wren's idea. Wren shrugged and shook his head, "I don't know, seems... Really dangerous to have the internet so easily accessible, like that. I don't think we should make it easy for Vye or Aroq or anything with malicious intent to just... Come and go as they please."

"You're absolutely right," Berri mumbled, she eased about the prize counter, in which they were near, and was successful in approaching the hub of the router. Around a small duck of a corner was another wall outlet, only occupied by one other plug, which happened to be a mini refrigerator. Berri furrowed her brow, plugged the router straight into the wall and bobbed a nod, "Good... That'll do, right?"

"Yeah, seems better," Wren mumbled, though he grimaced and rubbed the back of his head, "Still... There IS access to the Arcade, but, surely this wall outlet is a LOT harder to find, right?"

"It's probably on par with Tron's outlet, which isn't accessible by game stations or the train that runs to each," Berri nodded, though as her and Wren jolted in to action, so to begin moving their home cabinets to their new resting spot, near Arcadia Station, Lash came from the back room and rubbed his hands together.

"Alright, Sugar Rush and Turbotime are ready to go," Lash stated with a smile, "I can reboot Sugar Rush from here, we just need to plug Turbotime into Arcadia... Are there enough slots?"

"Yeah, there's five empty slots, we can worm Sugar Rush's chord to Arcadia no problem, but Fix-It Felix Jr. and Dead Zed need to be moved," Berri rattled, Lash clapped his hands and rubbed his bare arms.

"Alright, let's get to work," Lash urged with an excited smile, "I'll help you guys get all the cabinets moved over here, you two then can rearrange them and put them in their proper landing spaces while I reboot Sugar Rush."

"Perfect," Berri chimed, and although everything was going smoothly, she still suspiciously looked around and wondered just why it was all going maybe a bit too smoothly.

As Lash wrangled the upright dolly Wren and Berri had found, all three beings rushed to Mr. Litwak's office, once more, unplugged Turbotime and properly saddled in on the base of the dolly. With easiness, they began to wheel it out of it's hibernation, once and for all. Lash gripped the edge of the cabinet with one hand, and the handles of the dolly with the other. In the whirl of it all, Lash held his breath and realized the sheer importance happening, here and now. The way they casually pushed through rows and rows of games that had previously detested Turbotime, the reign it had over the Arcade, Lash bit his lip in nervousness and prayed that somehow the Arcade would accept this shiny, beautifully upgraded new version of Turbotime. Although the exterior was still old, Lash felt his heart race at all the possibilities before them. The opportunity for him, and his brothers, to show the world just how beautiful Vidrix is, how welcoming of a game cabinet it truly was, the dream of having his home back on the grid was becoming a reality, right before his eyes. Although the silent walk to Arcadia station was such, it held a stoic air, as if all three beings knew just how incredibly important this was. With a gentle slide off of the dolly, and an easy snug right next to Mario Kart, Lash inhaled a shaky breath as all three beings took a step back and assessed the bizarre sight.

"Damn," Lash huffed shakily as he crossed his arms, shook his head and did everything he could not to well up, once more. Berri and Wren finally erupted with wide smiles and knowing, cute chuckles towards him, and as Lash's golden eyes turned glassy with the overflow of emotion, he choked an annoyed noise, at himself, and wiped his cheeks, "I-I can't get over this... Turbo's going to FLIP."

"Everyone is," Berri stated with an excited smile, though it quickly morphed into a nervous grimace, "Whether in a good or bad way..."

"We can prove to the Arcade that this is all new, that Turbotime is rebooted, and there's nothing to fear," Wren assured with a nod, he was thankful to have Berri's and Lash's gentle, concerned eye contact, "We've accomplished a lot in this year alone... You got Turbo to leave the game."

"That's huge, in of itself," Lash mumbled cutely as he eyed Berri in a rise of pride, to which she rolled her eyes and stifled a shy smile.

"We can do anything we put our minds to," Wren nodded, he quickly looked about and sourced Dead Zed, "C'mon... We got room for two more cabinets, which shakes out."

"I'll help you guys move it, I underestimated the weight of these cabinets," Lash mumbled nervously, and as all three approached Dead Zed, as well as End of Line station, where it was currently plugged in, Berri grit her teeth in sharp nervousness and shook her head.

"G-Guys, our WHOLE family, including the entirety of Sugar Rush's population, is inside Dead Zed, right now," Berri staggered in worry, to which Wren and Lash peered to her curiously, "Is it safe to just... Up and unplug everything?"

"It's not a permanent unplug, and everyone inside the game is programed for it, currently," Lash assured with a nod as he lovingly placed his hand to Berri's shoulder; she peered into his eyes with a show of riled nervousness for her future kingdom, the whole swathe of family they each had rooted deep inside Dead Zed currently, Lash did whatever he could to hurry this process along whilst catering to Berri's worries, "They'll be okay... There will only be a few minutes of a gap between their unplug, and, for all they'll know, it'll be a flicker. They won't realize they were unplugged."

"And, surely they know we're gone," Wren mumbled as he rubbed the back of his neck, "I'm almost positive Zed has the entire game on lockdown, so like hell any of them are going to go stumbling into the station and see they were moved."

"We have to act fast," Lash nodded, and as he bent down to grapple Dead Zed's outlet, he peered up to Berri in sweet readiness and nodded, "Okay?"

"Okay," Berri huffed nervously, though as Lash yanked the plug from Game Central Station, Berri covered her forehead and watched her father's cabinet screen go black; a haunting sight. She grit her teeth and tensed into action, so to get the cabinet on the dolly, "Okay, go-go-go."

With as much speed as the three could afford, they saddled Dead Zed onto the dolly, rolled it across Litwak's Arcade and cutely saddled it right next to Turbotime, likely the strangest sight to ever hit their eyes. With an exhausted sigh from all three beings, Berri quickly ducked about the cabinets, grappled Dead Zed's plug and firmly shoved it into Arcadia Station; although she knew she shouldn't worry, Dead Zed easily powered back on with no hesitation. She clutched her chest and heaved a shaky sigh as her eyes scanned the power strip underneath her. She finally wormed back to where the two boys where standing, and although they commented on the oddity of everything going on, they wasted no time in bringing Fix-It Felix over. Although wanting to usher Hero's Duty's beast of a cabinet to Arcadia, they knew it was out of the question due to just how massive said cabinet was; likely a team for ten people or more, as well as a proper amount of arcade space it already had. With a gentle thud, Ralph's game easily slid right next to Dead Zed, and with the success of their efforts, they hovered and watched as Dead Zed and Fix-It Felix Jr. properly looped their title screen, character lists and more, whilst Turbotime remained unplugged. Berri kindly gave Lash a knowing smirk and gestured to their lovely new addition.

"Go ahead," Berri warmly stated, though she flinched in surprise and took note of her close proximity to Lash, him standing in a strike of California's blinding, morning sunshine. She huffed a small surprised noise and leaned a little closer to Lash's face in girly curiosity, "Whoa, whoa, you still have your cy-bug tattoos!"

"I do?" Lash wondered with a boyish smile, he dart his eyes about and sourced a mirror, "I gotta go find the bathrooms and see."

"Yeah, they're really faint though, in the arcade they're a bit more stark," Wren nodded, to which Lash grappled the collar of his shirt and looked down into his shirt, at his bare chest, to see just if every last inch of his markings remained.

"Damn, everything transferred over," Lash mumbled cutely, though he shook his head, choked a chuckle and shrugged, "They're barely visible, but it's whatever... We're not going to be here much longer."

"The only thing we have left is to plug Sugar Rush and Turbotime into Arcadia, right?" Berri chimed cutely, though as Lash's eyes tossed in Berri's direction, he flinched in a frozen show of terror as to just what he saw out of the arcade's massive, glass, double doors, the entrance and a proper view of the parking lot. Berri whirled around in nervousness as she caught the hint, and as her, Wren and Lash froze like statues and glued their eyes to the blinding, odd outside world, they could see a vehicle pulling into the parking lot and parking in a nearby spot. Berri gripped Lash's arm and shook her head, "Time's up... Someone's here."

"Shit," Lash hissed through his teeth as he began to dart towards Game Central Station, once more. With a yank, he unplugged Sugar Rush and began to worm the length of the long chord to Arcadia station, "I-I didn't want to have to do this, but... I'm going to have to reboot Sugar Rush from the inside, cause we gotta go."

"You think it's Mr. Litwak?" Wren wondered with a spike of terror, though it was cutely laced with boyish excitement; Lash shook his head, shrugged, plugged Sugar Rush into Arcadia and finally grappled for Turbotime's power chord.

"We can't stick around to find out, we gotta go, NOW," Lash urged as he held his breath, shut his eyes in a squeeze, and bravely plugged Turbotime into Arcadia. With a bounce, all three began to urgently scramble away from the front door and towards the laser room, though with a toss of his proud gaze, he looked back at the sight of Turbotime properly being plugged into the Arcade, a dream him and his brother's have wanted for decades now, and with a kind wrinkle of a smile, he huffed the cabinet one final notion, "See yah on the other side, Vidrix."

"Alright, what are we to expect going back in to Tron?" Berri worried in now whispered terror as all three plowed into the laser room and shut the door tight.

"A fight," Lash's voice shook, he grappled for the light disc strapped in between his shoulder blades and gestured for Berri and Wren to get close, "A nasty one, at that."

"We forgot our coats," Berri urged as she and Wren wrapped their arms about Lash's now much barer torso, though Lash grit his teeth, shook his head and held Zed's light disc out in line with the still powered on laser, aimed right for them.

"We don't have time," Lash huffed, a blip of an alarm noise could be heard disarming the building as, what seemed to be, Mr. Litwak entering his arcade. Lash grit his teeth and angled the disc just right, and as the laser began to whir and light up in preparation to teleport the three back into the Arcade, Lash huffed the two a finalized notion, "The second we're back on the grid, I'll teleport us to Tron's hidden outlet, back into the Arcade..."

"I'm surprised no one followed us out," Wren whispered.

"Zed's disc is the only one with access in and out," Lash returned shakily.

"Lash, what exactly will we be up against?" Berri's nervous voice whispered as the laser choked a powerful noise of finalized correction.

"More than we can handle, I can tell you that," Lash ushered in cheeky terror, he shook his head and glowered down the laser as its beam flickered on, and like a silent bolt of lightning, the three were whisked away to the coded, gridded atmosphere they swore to protect.
