"I'll escort the Hearthome-delegation elsewhere, I suppose." Allortan stated while the League-members climbed back into Diantha's helicopter. "Fantina." He pulled a round shape from one pocket. With surprise, they recognized it as a Luxury Ball, which he now offered to the purple-haired female.
"I do hope she won't be necessary." The Ghost-type Gym Leader of Sinnoh accepted the ball regardless.
"You saw the footage, better safe than sorry." He smiled sadly at her. "Now hurry, before things happen we'll all regret." He stepped back when the vehicle took to the air again, leaving him and the church-members behind.
"You know what Pokémon that is?" Diantha gestured to the black-and-golden ball still in Fantina's hand. She should probably have seen it coming that he had some kind of Pokémon, considering he was a high-end lawyer in a world where destructive creatures could be found everywhere.
"A Dark-type." Fantina sighed, staring at it. "Considering Dark-type Pokémon are as immune to human psychics as they are to Psychic-Type Pokémon..."
"Would it really come to us having to deal with Olympia herself?" Wikstrom demanded sharply, his hand trailing to one of his own Pokéballs.
"Hopefully not." She closed her eyes. "But I have seen her last confrontation with Lombardt – the last one were both knew who the other was, that is – and it was… intense. Lucian can confirm that a Psychic in a rage is overwhelming at the least and terrifying at the worst." Her Elite nodded lightly at the statement. For Psychics almost more than others, emotions could be pure fuel for power. Her voice trailed off when she caught sight of something up ahead; smoke.
Columns worth of it were rising from where they were heading, the dark grey being a striking contrast with the blue of the skies.
"Merde." The moment the helicopter was close enough, Fantina shoved the Luxury Ball into a hidden pocket of her dress while simultaneously pulling out one of her own Pokéballs. Using the summoned Drifblim as an improvised parachute-like balloon, she straight-up jumped from the still airborne vehicle to land amidst four smouldering remnants of what had once been SUVs of some type. Neatly laid out were what seemed the former occupants of said SUVs, all unconscious, but further unharmed.
Cynthia cursed in a way that was distinctly un-Championlike when she joined her Gymleader. "Was this Olympia?"
"Oui..." Fantina looked around. "But I am more concerned as to why she is no longer here." Even as her Drifblim bopped around in the hot air-currents born from the still existing fires, she pulled yet another Pokéball from another pocket.
"Did you bring your entire team?" Wulfric joined them.
"No." The Sinnoh Gym Leader looked at the round shape in her hand. "Only Drifblim..." Throwing the ball into the air away from the fires, a white-with-blue cat-shape appeared. Yellow eyes opened when the cat felt the heat.
"That's Olympia's Meowstic, isn't it?" Malva wondered.
"Oui." The purple-haired female gestured to the Pokémon even as she looked towards the mountains. "Find your trainer." As the rest joined them as well – and the helicopter had to retreat due to the heat – she continued softly. "Pretty much after she learned that you had turned him down, she insisted I keep one of her Pokémon with me so if something happened she'd know immediately." Once the Psychic-Type pointed out a direction further from Anistar, she recalled it again.
"Can you two stay here and deal… with this?" Diantha looked at Valerie and Drasna. "We need to catch up with Olympia..."
"We'll handle it." Drasna looked over her shoulder, seeing police-cars appearing between the buildings of the city. "You guys hurry."
Wikstrom made something of a face at the prospect of running while in full armour, but he followed the Champions and others regardless, though at the very end of the group.
Fantina led them onto a boulevard leading away from the city, running now. Once in a while, trees or other things would block the road. Every time, her order of 'Psychic' to her Drifblim sounded more urgent.
Diantha couldn't help but wonder exactly what was going on and she was definitely hearing out whoever was available once they had a moment. She knew that where-ever they were heading, it was making Fantina more frantic. A quick glance to the two Champions who were running beside her, she could tell they were having similar thoughts.
The Sinnohan Gym Leader slowed to a stop when they came to a junction that had one street disappear into the forest. Another tree blocked the road further out and deep furrows were in the mud beside the crossroads.
"Is she pursuing a car?" Siebold looked at the furrows. "I guess one of them decided retreat was the better option back there."
"Lombardt." Fantina almost snarled, even as she grew paler. "It must be him. But..."
"But?" Diantha looked down the lane. To her eternal frustration, she didn't get any kind of answer, because Fantina took up a sprint. Partly impressed that the other woman managed to do so in her outfit, she was mostly annoyed at the lack of explanations. It didn't stop her from following regardless.
The lane was old and poorly kept. It was also surprisingly long, leading to a disproportionately well-kept mansion.
"Fantina, wait!" Lucian called out, sounding almost more frantic than she had in their run here. The warning came too late however, as she lurched forward when passing through the gate towards said mansion and only the quick reaction of her Drifblim kept her from face-planting on the cobblestone road leading through the well-kept flower-fields to the main building.
