"Why did you never tell anyone?" The actress asked. "I mean, I get the whole… 'incident' not getting mentioned, but why your family? Wulfric didn't introduce most of us to his family, but we knew they existed before..."

"Before he nearly killed some people?" Olympia offered her a weak smile. "After I was secure enough not to doubt your fate in my abilities? Because you would have asked questions… questions I did not want to answer."

Diantha tilted her head in question.

"Diantha." The older woman took a deep breath. "I am in my mid-forties." She gestured to Oizys. "Our oldest child is 24. Do the math."

"And consider..." Allortan was still standing behind the Gym Leader, leaning forward a touch now. "Various shades of brown and purple do not make green, in no colour-theory I ever heard off."

She didn't answer him, but her eyes narrowed a touch.

"Oizys is adopted." Olympia confirmed her suspicion. "When would she have been born? Twenty-four years ago… or more specifically, 9 months after the Summer of Dread."

Oizys frowned a bit, but didn't make any comment.

"She is Therese's child?" After all, the church-member was the only woman she knew of that time that had green eyes – and knowing how genetics worked, probably hair as well.

"Therese's child, conceived on the only day she ever had relations with anyone." Anistar's Gym Leader softly confirmed. "Back in the day, they were sparse with pregnancy-tests… one had to specifically ask for them. Therese forgot – perhaps will-fully – and took months to realize that her missed periods were not from stress and trauma." She reached for the eldest of her children, who moved across the room to sit beside her mother.

"What could she have answered when someone asked? First when why Oizys is so different from us, and then why we adopted her so young?" Her father's hand settled on her shoulder. "Sooner or later, there would have been no choice to dig up… things."

"Things I did not want to revisit if at all possible." Olympia added. "That I got over it does not mean it is a painful memory."

"That I can imagine." The Champion whispered. "So what now? You can probably still keep all this secret from the public at least, but the League by now has learned all about their existence." They did have some gossips in there, after all.

That prompted five stares of amusement at the Gym Leader, who rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Don't remind me. Gerard has already stated in no uncertain terms that he'll drag me to the altar if it gets out in the open." That statement gained a soft chuckle from their guest.

"You very specifically told me that your need for secrecy was the only thing that made you say no." He in turn pointed out. "But that doesn't answer her question, I imagine."

"I am not starting this argument again." She rolled her eyes. "In answer to your question, Diantha, that I do not know yet. I assumed I'd be peacefully retiring without being threatened with marriage ever again."

"Just make sure you have a dress before Valerie finds out." The actress took a deep breath. "That'll be even worse."

"Oh Arceus." The purple-haired woman sighed in defeat. "I really should have been there that first day."

"Things would have gone far different."
