Whew, that took a while. Anyways, yes, I am back, I'm writing. This one just took me a while because it wasn't exactly the normal chapter. In this one, the plot furthers and thickens beyond just catching ghosts.

Will Tails find Cosmo in this chapter?

Who is the evil force behind her kidnapping?

Is there a greater scheme at hand?

Will Waluigi finally get out of this story?

Can you please imagine me saying all of this in a cheesy narrator voice?

All of these answers will possibly be answered... now.

The newcomer glanced around the dark room. Eyes wide with fear as the small sound of feet tapped the wooden floor. It took time to adjust to the new setting, but the stranger did just that. Within a few minutes, the being could make out shapes within the darkness. The shapes of furniture all around. The person was able to walk around the new location, avoiding tripping over things, or running into them.

Their hand slowly ran across a small table, picking up dust on it's fingertips. Wiping the dust off on their clothing, the newcomer continued to walk around the room. Their Sapphire eyes darting around, trying to adjust even more to the darkness surrounding them. In their hands gripped tightly something that dragged along the ground. It appeared to be attached by some sort of string.

A dark cackle made itself heard to the being. A dank and malicious chuckle. Jumping at the sound slightly, their eyes scanned the room for any sort of malicious activity. Anything that would stop them from achieving their goal. They lifted their hand and placed it safely in their pocket, gripping something inside it. They didn't plan o taking it out. It was the key to their success. All they had to do was-

"GAAAAAARRRR!"

It was too late.

Tails and Luigi rested against the wall from their fight against the cannibal ghosts. Luigi didn't need much rest, but it looked like Tails was still recuperating from the experience. They decided to take a small break while the kit was tired. Unfortunately, it didn't seem like this peace and rest would last too long. A scream was heard by the two. Actually... two screams. One was dark and gruff, the other was light and shrill... and that last one sounded more in terror then anything.

Upon hearing the screams, the two sidekicks glanced over to one another. Luigi sighed, getting up on his feet. Tails attempted to do the same, but nearly fell on his face when he tried. He was still weak from the punishment of the ghosts. A gloved hand entered his vision. Looking up to see Luigi standing there, offering his hand to the fox, he took it and lifted himself off the ground.

The plumber lifted the other poltergust up and placed it onto Tails' back. The fox was still able to hold it up, despite his weak state. The two looked towards each other and nodded, walking towards then kitchen door.

The newcommer laid on the steps going upstairs, away from the wretched ghosts that haunted the being. Darn them. Darn them to heck. They were trying to undo all of the work they had done. Slowly, one of the ghosts came into sight at the bottom of the stairs, giving off a deathly purple glow, their terrifying eyes glancing up towards them, scraping their horrid claws together. This was not going to end well.

However, a small beacon of hope shined through. The door to the kitchen opened up, catching the ghost off guard. He was met with a light shine to the face, blinding him horribly. His scream of agony was hard on the ears, as he tried to float away from a sudden pull of wind. He made his way to the other side of the room before he was sucked in. The newcomer looked down as Tails and Luigi ran into the room. Their eyes widened at the two sidekicks.

Tails and Luigi looked in the room, seeing the outlines of the ghosts before them. Each one had a pair of eyes, being glued to the duo, but the one ghost's eyes were wide with terror, having just experienced a light shine to the face. Luigi yelped out a bit when he saw the ghosts. He could have sworn that these three were the ghosts he saw just before he rescued Tails.

The one ghost growled at them, floating towards them, and grabbing Luigi by the overalls. He yelped as he was lifted off of the ground. Tails reacted quickly, and shined his flashlight on him, lighting up the ghost. Dropping Luigi, It's blood red eyes widened as it felt the pain of the light shining on them. Tails' eyes widened as well, but for a different reason. That ghost... that was the ghost he saw in the mansion. The one that kidnapped Cosmo!

"You... you're..." Suddenly, he felt a claw grab him by his chest fur, and throw him across the room. It wasn't the same ghost that took Cosmo though. It didn't own blood red eyes or the same demented grin. These were white eyes and a different demented grin.

Luigi attempted to get back up, but the last ghost of the three floated right up in his face. Actually, it kinda floated through his face. It engulfed the poor man in some sort of gas. Luigi couldn't breathe. He tried to hold his breath, but it was all for naught. His lungs couldn't take much more. He opened his mouth, needing oxygen, only to get the strange gas that the ghost was enveloping him in. Eventually, the noxious gasses began seeping into his mind, knocking the poor plumber unconscious.

The stranger watched as the fox fought the ghosts. Clutching their stomach in pain, the being knew it couldn't take anymore rough hits. They moved their hand into their pockets and pulled something out, looking at it in deep thought. The hand clutching the key into a fist, the stranger knew what they had to do. Running down the stairs in the commotion, being undetected by everyone, they ran into the kitchen and closed the door quietly behind them.

The red eyed ghost floated in place, recovering from the flash of light. He scanned his surroundings. The other two ghosts seemed to have the ghost catchers in their grasp. He also noticed something behind the four. A small creature making it's way down the stairs, running into the door that the sidekicks came through. His Ruby eyes grew large. He began to scream out in a strange sort of language.

"Gaar! Grrr! Geng!"

The ghost that held Tails looked back at the shouting ghost. Tails saw an opportunity, and quickly took it. He shined his flashlight on the ghosts, all of them grunting from the sudden flash. Quickly, he was dropped by the ghost that held him to the wall. He pulled out his Poltergust and began to suck in the two ghosts. They both flew around the room randomly, making it hard for Tails to capture either one of them. He was actually being dragged all across the room. Across the furniture, against the floor, across the walls, everywhere. Knowing he would have to choose between them both, he had to make a choice between the two of them. The red eyed ghost took Cosmo, so he decided that he would be the best one to go after.

He grabbed his hand on the first sturdy thing he ran up against, which happened to be the couch. The two were still flying around randomly, but were now on opposite sides of the room. Red eyed ghost on his left, white eyed ghost on his right. He wasn't entirely sure of his surroundings, but he could see the ghosts, so that's all that mattered. Moving his Poltergust to his left, the ghost was having a more difficult time getting away. But he was still really strong. Stronger then most of the other ghosts they had caught. He pulled hard against the gusts. It was like trying to fish for a Shark. But right now one thing and one thing alone was on his mind. Getting Cosmo back. Nothing else mattered to him at this moment. Getting her back was top priority to the fox right now. Thinking of her usually gave him some sort of boost. He knew that when he was able to outlast Shadow more then anyone else when he attempted to kill her. Tails knew he would catch this ghost. He was sure he got this one in the bag.

At least until he realized that he left the other ghost completely unattended.

He felt two cold hands grab his ankles. They lifted him up in the air, loosing his grip on the red eyed ghost, letting him fly straight through the wall. Tails was greeted by the insane face of the white eyed ghost, with his disturbing smile planted on his face. Tails retorted with his flashlight, causing the ghost to drop him on the floor. The ghost flew back, away into the room behind himself. Tails got up off of the floor, greeted by a quick flash of lightning. He was able to see that the ghost flew off into the kitchen. The fox gulped. To himself. He looked around the room, seeing that the other ghost had left the room. He sighed to himself, deciding that the best place to go now is the kitchen to catch that other ghost.

"Okay... I just need to get to the basement before-"

"HAAWWWEERRR" The ghost shouted, flying through the door and into the wall. Like, physically hitting the wall. It pushed back and began to rub it's face in pain. It looked down to see someone looking up at it. It wasn't either ghost catcher, but rather the person that his comrades and himself had been chasing. His mouth formed an evil grin before the stranger made a dash to a cabinet, opening it up and shutting the door behind them. The ghost grinned. This was going to be easy.

He floated down to the cabinet and rubbed his disembodied hands together. He lifted one up, moving all of his fingers in anticipation of opening the door, when he heard something. The twist of the doorknob. Acting quickly, he dashed away from his position and through the wall he just came in. He appeared on the other side, seeing Tails walk through the door and shutting it behind him. The ghost sighed at this sight. At least until he realized that he didn't catch the being they were chasing. Then he face palmed.

Tails walked around the kitchen, his poltergust in his hands. His eyes scanned the dark room for any sign of the ghastly spirit that had nearly choked him to death. He looked towards the counter where he was prepared for dinner earlier and shuttered at the memory. That was not something he wanted to think about again. Still, he kept his mind focused on the task at hand, finding that ghost.

Suddenly, the fox's ears twitched. He heard something. It sounded like… breathing. Hard breathing. Almost as if someone was scared to death. It was… familiar even. Wait a second… he knew that breathing. That breath was all too familiar to the fox. He could never forget that sound. Not after what he had been through.

He used his super sensitive hearing to figure out where the sound was coming from. He looked at one of the cabinets on the counter. Running over to it, he opened it wide to find who was inside it. And inside was a familiar girl with green hair.

"Cosmo!"

Cosmo jumped a little at the sight of Tails, even letting out a small yelp at the quick surprise. The fox quickly jumped in and wrapped his arms around her, embracing her, making sure that this wasn't just some cruel dream. It wasn't. He could feel her. Feel her soft hair, her clothes. He couldn't have been dreaming.

"Oh, Cosmo, I'm so glad you're okay…" He said to her, thanking God almighty that she was alright.

Cosmo's eyes widened as Tails told her this. The look on her face was… unsure. As if she wasn't sure how to react to this. She raised her hand a caught a quick glimpse of it, before opening her mouth and having a sort of understanding look.

Tails didn't notice this, though. He was just happy she was okay. Now they could leave this horrifying mansion, leaving all of these nightmares behind. He was so happy. He tried to smell her wonderful aroma she naturally gave off… but it was odd. More… stinky than normal. He did realize that he didn't really see if she was okay, he just kinda jumped in and hugged her. Breaking up the hug, he inspected the girl over to see if anything was wrong.

There were a few things. First off, her hair looked a little paler than usual. Darker. Kinda like a sickening Olive green, as opposed to the normal green it was. And messy. Almost like she had a freak out. The flowers on her head looked to be a little crusty. Her clothes looked ripped, and messed up. Her dress was really torn up, lacking the green lining at the bottom. There was even a little hole in her shirt, with red stains all around it.

"Cosmo… What happened to you?" He asked in disbelief.

She quickly covered the hole with her hand, not wanting Tails to see.

"Cosmo, lemme look."

"No."

"Cosmo, you're bleeding. Listen, we need to get you outta here, get you patched up."

"No, Not yet!" She screamed, covering up the bloody hole with her arm.

"What? Why?"

She looked around the room, her head turning with her eyes. She eyed Tails once more before explaining, "The ghosts…" She sounded like she was at a loss for words as she trailed off.

"...The ghosts?"

"Yes, the ghosts… They… they plan to escape this mansion!" She exclaimed.

"What? E-escape the Mansion?"

She nodded, "Yes. They plan on leaving this place... and invading. Invading.. the outside world!"

"The outside... Oh, no… That's not good..."

"I know. Which is why…" She reached her arm covering the hole in her chest, her hand now behind herself. She reached her other arm, pulling out a small, black key, "I stole this from them…"

Tails took the black key in his hands and looked closely at it, "A key?"

"It's a key to…" Cosmo struggled to continue speaking, "The… Underwhere…"

Tails remained silent for a few seconds, processing exactly what she just said, before speaking, "Under...wear?"

Cosmo nodded.

"... Cosmo… Why do you have a key to.. underwear? Actually… How do you have a key to underwear? What pair of underwear requires a key to it?"

She shook her head in response, "No, Tails. The Underwhere is where people go when they die. It's the realm where the ghosts come from…"

"Oh.. okay. That… Wait, why is it called the Underwhere?"

"Miles, listen! It's a realm of torture, meant for the most evil of ghosts! " Cosmo shouted at him, "And the portal is open from there to here! Some evil genius guy ripped the portal open, and now they're going to take over, unless we close the portal!"

Tails listened intently as she explained to him. A few thoughts entered his mind. Such as how Cosmo knew about the realm, or the ghosts' plan. And how she got that wound in her stomach. They were all probably connected to each other. He thought that he should take her back to E. Gadd's lab first, but with how Cosmo was acting, this was probably something that couldn't wait.

"... You got it, Cosmo. We'll stop those ghosts from taking over." Tails told her. He held his hand out and helped her out of the cabinet she was hiding in. She still gripped her stomach, not letting her wound show. She nearly tripped, but Tails caught her before she fell. He put his arm around her, supporting her while walking.

"I'm gonna need you to point me to where this key has to go…" He said to her.

She looked to him and nodded, "Yeah… It's in the basement… through that door."

She pointed to one of the doors that they didn't come through. Tails nodded and began to walk in that direction.

Amy's eye twitched in the theater. She couldn't believe her own eyes. After finally getting through the commercials before the movie-And seeing a rather disturbing commercial of "Hey, Daddy, Look, It's a Man Wearing a Goat's Head." They had gotten to the film. Popcorn in the laps of Sonic and Mario, each one intended for their significant other-although Sonic said he didn't want any, Amy bought some and he had to hold it. They had gotten to Saw VIII. The eighth installment of the franchise. Needless to say, it was incredibly violent, gory, and things that would just give people her age nightmares for several weeks, it was one thing that she never expected.

"WHY ARE YOU ATTACKING ME WITH A LAWNMOWER, JOHN!?"

... It was a comedy.

A comedy. Comedy! Sonic was busting out his gut laughing at the chainsaw based slapstick, along with the rest of the theater. Mario tried to keep in his laughter, but he could barely contain himself. Peach remained silent, eating Popcorn out of Mario's lap. She wasn't laughing, but she wasn't looking away either. Amy simply had her hand on her forehead, asking herself how this could possibly happen. She was supposed to be cowering in Sonic's chest in snuggled up fear, not laughing their heads off.

In the movie, John just ran over Ted with a flaming lawn mower. He was intending to attack the chainsaw wielding murderer of the movie, but after an insane attempt by Ryan to beat the murder to death with a bottle-not even a glass one, it was made of plastic-the bottle ended up knocking off the muderer's mask and had it land on Ted, leading Johnny to think that Ted was the murderer.

Sonic laughed madly as Ted's disembodied head told the murderer to cut off Johnny's head so they can be even. Or at the very least to pick up his arm and slap him for him. Amy would've asked about the logic behind this, but it was clear that the movie wasn't taking itself seriously when the chainsaw became a super fighting robot with flamethrowers and rubber duckies.

"Go, Lewis, Go, whack him with my spine!" Ted yelled.

Amy face palmed. This was going to be a looong movie.

Tails held Cosmo close to him as they walked down a hallway from the kitchen. The outside rain pouring on the windows, with the moonlight shining through the dark halls. Her constant grunts of pain as she took each step troubled Tails. She really shouldn't have been pushing herself to this limit, even if there was a giant evil that had to be stopped.

"Cosmo, you really shouldn't be pushing yourself too hard, we should probably take you back to the base." He said in a concerned tone.

"I'm fine… We need to get to that darn box…" She retorted, in a rather nasty tone. Actually, now that Tails noticed, she's been acting strange ever since he found her again. He even remembered that she called him Miles earlier and not Tails. Why was that? Was something up? Did something happen while she was with those ghosts? All of these questions rang through his mind.

They got to the end of the hallway with another door in front of the two children. Cosmo lifted her arm from her stomach to turn the knob. Tails would have done it with his own hand, but he decided that this would be the best time to take a look at the wound, considering she wouldn't let him. And even then, it wasn't that good of a look. But he could tell that there was definitely blood, as it stained her dress. And it was dried out. That wasn't a good sign. It was probably infected by now.

"Cosmo, we really should get you to the base, that could be infected…"

"Damn it, Miles, you can check me out later, can we just get down to that stupid box first!" She screamed, snapping her head to look at him. Tails blinked in shock, mainly of her outburst, but also because of one small detail.

"Cosmo.. Did you just swear?"

Cosmo never swore. That was just not something that she did. No matter what happened to her, she never swore. And she was incredibly clumsy. She fell around quite a bit, walked into occasional things, stubbing her toe, even banged her head more than once around his shop. She never once swore. Not even when things were in such dire need, like back when they were dealing with the Metarex, or Bowser's Koopalings.

She blinked at him, quickly realizing what she said. Her head moved back down to the ground, quickly replaying the event in her head. She guessed she didn't exactly word that the best she could. Actually, there were two other words in that sentence that she didn't say, because she knew that would've been a bad idea.

She sighed, "I'm sorry... Tails. I just... These ghosts are evil. I saw what they planned and.. it's despicable. What they plan to do to this world, what they plan to do to you."

"To.. me? What do you mean?"

Cosmo stayed silent when he asked her this, "I'd… rather not talk about it…"

She felt a hand pat her on the back, "It's okay, Cosmo… Look, I get it, after everything you've been through with the Metarex, and Bowser, and all of us, the last thing you want is to let anything happen to anyone you love."

Cosmo nodded, "Yeah… Look, I'll tell you everything, let's just get this stupid box locked, okay?"

Tails nodded. He held her closer, in an attempt to support her as he looked down the stairs. They seemed to go down... very deep under ground. He took a few steps down with her, looking that they actually curled around, going down even further then he initially realized. It was going to be a while before they reached the bottom. But they would get there, and would lock away the Underwhere.

Luigi's eyes fluttered open as his mind slowly returned to consciousness. One of the first things he could tell was that there was some sort of conversation going on. If his mind was able to comprehend anything beyond waking up, he probably wouldn't understand anything in the conversation, it was an entirely different language.

"Way to go, moron, you let the little thief get away!"

Wait… That was a different language, right? He swore he could have just understood it.

"Hey, it ain't my fault that the two-tailed brat had me cornered! You should have gone with me to get the little bugger!"

He could understand it! It was weird, though. The words they were speaking, they were definitely another language, but the way it came into his mind, it was english! It was almost as if it was some form of telepathy.

"Hey, guys, plumber boy's waking up!"

His eyes shot open at this sentence. Leaning up, he was greeted by a gas cloud with big white eyes and a grinning mouth, sporting twin fangs on each side. He jumped back a bit at the sight of this ghastly creature, yelping loudly. His sapphire eyes darted around the room to see the other two creatures in the room, both of which now had their gaze directed on him.

One was a weird spikey entity, with jagged, teeth-like grooves in his mouth, and triangular-shaped eyes, with no color to them, accompanied by the small, black pupils. He was accompanied by a pair of floating hands with three fingers. Next to him was a larger ghost, with similar eyes to his friend, only instead of white sclera, his were blood red. His mouth formed an evil grin, with pearly white teeth showing. His body was round, with arms, and legs, as well as a pair of spiked ears.

"Well, look, if it isn't the scaredy baby." Said the ghost with the red eyes, "Aw, what's wrong, little guy, gonna cry?"

Suddenly, the armless ghost's eyes popped out of his head, along with his mouth, right into Luigi's face, "OOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!"

Luigi screamed and jumped up to the ceiling, actually getting his head caught in the ceiling itself. Everything from his neck below was dangling from it.

The ghost's face returned to his body, with a more surprised expression painted on it.

"Wow, he is a jumper."

Luigi's eyes darted around the room he had now entered. He couldn't really move his head, because it was stuck in the floor.

"Hey!" said a voice. His eyes looked up to see a ghost with a beard, and a pair of glasses. He was very nerdy looking.

"You're not supposed to meet me yet. That's a later chapter." And with that, he stomped on Luigi's head, sending him back downstairs.

Luigi fell down onto the ground, landing on his bottom back in the living room, Little pieces of ceiling falling on his cranium. His eyes clenched tightly and he rubbed his backside in pain. He slowly opened his eyes to be greeted by the armless ghost that just scared him.

"Hey."

Luigi jumped backwards, once more, screaming his head off. The ghost began to guffaw madly.

"Gaw-haw-haw-haw! Oh, man, you shoulda seen the look on your face!"

"Shut it, Boofurd, you know he can't understand a word you're saying."

Luigi's eyes widened a little. They thought he couldn't understand them? Well.. that was actually a pretty astute observation. They were doing nothing other than screaming odd words while they were attacking. Still begged the question as to why Luigi could understand them now.

"Aw, I know, Fantom, but it's still fun to pretend he can." The ghost replied. He turned to Luigi and spoke to him in a dark and creepy tone, "Oooh, watch out, Green hat, I'm going to steal your anchoviiiieees…"

"Whatever. Look, let's just attack him before he tries to suck us up again! We have to catch that little thief before everything goes to Blooper poo!"

"Thief?" Luigi thought aloud. The two ghosts' eyes widened and they slowly turned to Luigi with curious frowns. Luigi's eyes widened when they looked at him. He quickly covered his mouth with his hands.

"Did he just say 'thief'?" Boofurd asked.

"No, he said Brussels Crow, Of course he said thief!" Fantom yelled back.

Boofurd just gave him a look of disapproval. The third ghost floated up to Luigi's face and looked him in the eye, surprising the plumber. His near-soulless gaze pierced Luigi's very soul.

"I think I might've left some gas in his brain." He said.

"Wait, you can do that?" Fantom asked him.

"You weren't with me when I went to Wisconsin-"

"WASHINGTON!" Boofurd interrupted.

"Right, Washington, sorry... When I was there, I left some gas in someone's head. I didn't think it was a big deal though, considering he went to the loony bin."

"Uh… w-what's-a going on?" Luigi stuttered, "W-w-what are you t-talking about with this th-th-thief?" The three ghosts looked to him and then gave each other an unsure look. As if they were debating whether or not to tell him. A few drops of sweat made their way down Luigi's forehead.

"... Y'know he's gonna hear us talk about it even if we don't tell him, right?" Said the third ghost.

"Can't you just go in his head and take that stupid gas out, Specks?" Fantom said.

"I could... but that might kill him..." The third ghost, apparently with the name Specks, replied, "Which means that he'll still understand us, cause he'll be a ghost."

"Ooh, goodie, goodie, then we can be ghosty buddies! Just like Rosebud!" Boofurd laughed, clapping his disembodied hands. Luigi shrieked lightly at the very thought. What Boofurd was suggesting was not only terrifying to the plumber, but he was gleeful in it. That was not good at all.

Fantom rolled his eyes, "Ugh, fine... We'll tell him... But just the necessary details. We're not telling him about Rosebud, or Toenail. Got it?"

Specks and Boofurd nodded their floating heads in agreement. Fantom looked back to Luigi and folded his arms.

"Alright, Green hat, here's the deal. Someone stole a key. It's a very important key. A key that could potentially destroy the world!" Luigi jumped in his seat at the ghost's emphasis, "And we're trying to get it back. Plain and simple. Which we were about to get it, until you and your friend both came in and tried to pull us into your little vacuums."

Boofurd's eyes immediately widened to their maximum, "Oh, shoot. I completely forgot..."

Fantom turned around, "What?"

Boofurd said nothing. He merely floated in place before making a dash through the wall. Fantom and Specks looked at each other, each with a questioned look on their mug. The quickly followed posthaste, leaving Luigi behind in the room. The plumber began to ponder his next move. Mainly how to get out of this situation. He could try to go over to E. Gadd and explain everything that just happened and hope that he had a plan. But knowing Gadd, he'd probably just send him back in to deal with it. He could also just try to leave the mansion and get someone better suited for this kinda thing, like his brother, or Sonic. That was probably the best bet Luigi had. They did mention the world being at stake, and that was just the thing that those two dealt with all the time. Then again, so did he and Tails.

That's when it hit him again. Tails. The little fox boy was still in the mansion. Still fighting. All for the woman that he loved. The plumber held his hands together and began to think about the little fox. In many ways, Luigi noted how amazing the little kid as. Despite being 8, he was still a thought little kid. And a smart one too. He built so many great inventions. He's gone on so many adventures. He's found himself his one true love. At the age of 8. The age of 8! Luigi was still to scared to ask Daisy out somewhere that wasn't anything Peach already invited her too.

He cursed himself under his cowardly than an eight year old. That was sad. Here he was cowering and that child was searching fearlessly. How pathetic. Quickly, a scream entered the ears of the man. Actually, more of an angry shout.

"You what?!"

Luigi recognized that as the lead ghost of the group, Fantom. At least that's what he assumed. The plumber got up onto his feet and walked over to the wall that the ghost fluttered into. Which was the kitchen where Luigi was nearly a turkey dinner for two busty cannibals. He shuddered once again at the thought. That was something that wasn't going to leave his mind for a while. Silently, he opened the door, creaking his head in-Or rather, his nose-to listen to the conversation.

"What do you mean you lost the little scum bucket in here?!" Fantom yelled. Behind them all, Luigi slowly opened the door, peeking his head into the room, looking over the three.

"Exactly what I said, Boss. I lost Toesbud in here. I got chased out by Two Tail, and then we ended up talking to Green hat!" Boofurd shouted back.

"Uh, guys? Didn't you have this exact same conversation earlier?" Specks asked. Both of the ghosts turned to him with wide eyes and small frowns, remembering that they actually did have this conversation earlier. They glanced back to each other before Boofurd spoke up.

"Y'know, if that purple flup was here, he'd be yelling about continuity errors, or something."

"Ugh, whatever! Look, we lost the little rat, and now we have to find that darn key! So, start searching!" Fantom ordered.

"Um... guys... where does that door lead too?" Specs asked, looking at the door on the wall that Luigi was not peeking through. Immediately, Fantom's eyes widened, and the two large spikes on the top-sides of his head curved downwards, like ears. His toothy grin formed a terrified frown.

"That's the... jar room..." Fantom said in disbelief. His next actions were loud and sudden, "THEY'RE HEADING FOR THE JAR ROOM! EVERYONE! TO THE JAR ROOM! NAAAAOOOWWW!"

With those orders, Specs and Boofurd panicked, flying all around the room in a hurry before charging down into the floor.

Luigi creaked the door open and walked into the room. Those ghosts were panicking like it was Halloween and they forgot the candy. Like it was Thanksgiving and they forgot the Turkey. Like it was Christmas and they forgot the presents. Like it was the Wii U launching and they forgot to put the games at the launch. That last one was kinda hurtful, the narrator apologizes for that one. Pikmin 3 just wasn't finished. But the narrator digresses. Luigi looked down at the floor before looking over to the doorway the three ghosts terrifyingly noticed. He made his way down to the door, opening it up and looking down the hallway. It was dark and dreary, much like the hallways form earlier. Rain poured down on the windows and thunder crackled in the sky as the thunder briefly lit up the world around him. The plumber gulped. He knew where he was going now.

And he didn't like it.

The creaking of the steps sounded through the stairwell. With two sets of feet slowly making their way to the bottom, this sound was rather monotonous to the two. They endured the continuous creeks to get to the basement. They had to lock the Underwhere up so that way no more ghosts could come through and try to take over the world. Tails still thought that was a weird name of the afterlife. Underwhere. He just started to imagine all the underpants puns and humor down there.

After a good five minutes, the two got to the bottom of the stair case, and found a doorway.

"That must be where they keep the Jar..." Cosmo said aloud.

Tails was unsure of what she was talking about, but he assumed that he would find out in just a second. He opened the door and behind it there was a long, brick corridor. It was dimly lit by candles on the walls. And it was very damp, with the floors having little puddles of water in it. He could see the pipes of the house across the ceiling of the cavernous hallway. There was another door at the end of the hallway, this one bigger, and with a window above it. A window with bars.

"Hurry, up, let's go..." Cosmo said, walking through the dank pathway. Tails followed her very closely, making sure she didn't trip or fall on anything. Her movement was faster then it was before, he noticed. Actually, there was one thing he finally did notice, now that she was in front of him. She was carrying something. It looked like... a doll... of him?

"Cosmo... what's that in your hand?" He asked her. She looked back at him and saw he was staring at her hand. She looked down and her eyes widened when she realized what she was carrying.

"Oh, T-this? It's n-nothin'. Don't worry about it." She began to turn the knob quickly in an attempt to open it. Tails noticed how quickly she was trying to get in. Almost as if she was trying to avoid questions...

"Cosmo, is there something you're not telling me?"

Sweat began to pour from the back of her head. Her eyes grew wide as she felt a lump in her throat. Her palms quickly became sweaty. Tails could tell that whatever she wasn't telling him, it was for more of a reason then just focusing on the task at hand. Despite the palms of her hands being moist, she was able to open the door to the room.

The door flew open, showing Tails the inside of the room. Not many details could be seen by the fox. He could tell that there were dressers and drawers, along with somethings under some tarps, but generally he couldn't get all of the details. In the center of the room, there was some sort of small, black item, with a rounded shape. It wasn't exactly a sphere, but it was definitely not a box.

Cosmo quickly ran into the room and knelt down at the strange item, picking it up. "This is it, Pandora's Jar. This is what the ghosts are getting through. Quickly, Miles, gimme the key!"

Tails slowly walked in the room, watching as she attempted to... well, in the dark, it almost looked like the jar was closed and she was trying to open the thing instead.

"Cosmo, something's up and I don't know what it is. There's something you're not telling me."

"I'll tell you everything once you lock up this... stupid... jar!" She said, struggling.

Tails was about to say no. He was about to say that she's been acting really strange this entire time. He was about to tell her that even if she was on the edge, she was still hiding information from him. He was going to not lock the jar thing until she explained exactly what was going on. He was about to say that. Until a glowing hand flew down from the ceiling and grabbed her by the back of the head.

She screamed as she was pulled up into the air. Quickly, from the ceiling, the armless ghost descended, and quickly threw her against a dresser. He screeched loudly as she held her gut, crying out in pain. Tails's eyes widened at this sudden action. He quickly reached his arm behind his back and grabbed his flashlight, when all of a sudden, the red eyed ghost came down and grabbed him too, throwing him against the other dresser. He tried to get up, but was grabbed by the ghost and hoisted into the air.

His gaze directed itself at Cosmo, who was on the ground in pain. Quickly, the other ghost grabbed her by the throat and lifted her up in the air too. It's horrible purple glow showed off the terror in Cosmo's face. It even made the wound in her stomach all the more visible to Tails. He quickly slammed her into the wall and did something Tails found terrifying. It lifted up it's free hand and shoved it in her wound. Tails' eyes widened as he saw Cosmo scream in agony. He's never seen her in such pain. He's never heard a howl so bloodcurdling. The pain he saw inflicted on her right now... Is this what's been happening to her to make her seem so odd?

Tears fell out of Tails' eyes. He gripped his flashlight and the key in his hand. In one fell swoop of a motion, he shined the flashlight inside the ghost that held him, and on the ghost that held Cosmo. Both ghosts let out a bloodcurdling scream, and flew away from the light. Cosmo fell to the ground, lying there in agony. Tails ran over to her, kneeling down to make sure she was alright.

"Miles..." She said, weakly, "The jar... lock... the jar..."

Tails looked over to the jar in the middle of the room. He looked back at her and nodded. He quickly turned around and dove for the jar, but unfortunately, a quick cloud of gas covered the jar and enveloped Tails. Tails couldn't breathe at all, coughing as the gas made it's way into his lungs. But he would not give up. Within the gas, he reached for the jar and began to feel around for a keyhole or something to jam the key into. Eventually, he found a small hole on the top of the jar. Acting quickly, he lifted the key up and thrusted it into the jar, causing a huge surge of green light to envelop the room. The gas enveloping Tails and the jar flew away, growing a face. A face with a terrified expression. Actually, the other ghosts were sharing the same expression as the gaseous ghost.

Suddenly, the red eyed ghost began to speak, "You've doomed us all..."

Tails' eyes widened when he heard it speak. The creature could talk? He began to hear cackling in the room. It belonged to none of the ghosts in front of him. No, none of them were making faces to warrant laughter, especially a maniacal one such as that. He looked over to the left and saw Cosmo sitting up against a dresser, her head casted downwards, but moving up and down. Slowly, she looked up, but where her sparkling blue eyes were, they were replaced with blood red eyes. A sadistic grin crept onto her maw. She uttered five simple words to Tails.

"Can you feel the sunshine?"

And then all hell broke loose.

Luigi huffed his way downstairs. Carrying a vacuum cleaner on your back made it difficult to run at all, let alone down a set of stairs. Those three ghosts seemed to be really scared for some reason. He wasn't sure why. He saw them fly into the floor, so he assumed it had to have been something to do in the basement. The spiral staircase was his biggest problem. He could barely keep himself both going fast and not falling flat on his face. It was either one or the other. He wanted it to be the latter, getting downstairs relatively unharmed was a good idea. Sadly for the green hatted plumber, it seemed that he couldn't find the correct balance. not even one fourth of the way down, he ended up tumbling down the stairs in a comical fashion.

Each of the wooden steps hit him on the way down. He almost could have swore that he wended up spinning around as he went down the stairs. Feeling the weight of the Poltergust either crush him or drag him further down gravity's gullet, the plumber quickly wished that he had actually stayed around with Mario and saw Saw 8. Being terrified was better then in pain. Heck, for all he knew it could have been a comedy. With Chainsaw based slapstick even.

Finally, he landed on his face at the bottom of the stairs. After a few seconds of silence, he got up onto his arms and knees, with a face of red scorch sat on his legs, rubbing his pained face. He moaned in pain humorously as he tried to get the pain to go away., It didn't really work. He glanced down the hallways and saw a creaked open door, with a purple glow coming from inside. That was probably the ghosts he saw earlier. He got up onto his feet and began to make his way to the room. He heard sounds of struggles from inside. He tried to figure out what the struggle as of, but quickly, silence followed. Dead silence. It was actually kinda creepy. Finally at the end of the hallway, he reached the door. He opened the door slowly...

All hell broke loose the second he looked inside.

The entire room was filled with green visible wind, almost as if it was the inside of a green tornado. That was on fire. Maniacal cackles filled the room. The sound of the roaring winds accompanied them. What appeared to be spirits flew around with outlines of evil expressions. He tried to look around the room and saw one thing in the center of the fire tornado. Tails. He screamed at the top of his lungs. It not only sounded like in terror but also in pain. Luigi' mouth was wide in disbelief, his eyes huge, like seeing a giant tower, or building being destroyed before your very eyes.

He kept his eyes on Tails, but found several things flying up from in front of him at an amazing speed. He could barely keep his eyes on them all until they began to circle around in the winds of the ghastly was then that he began to see the oddities take shape and form. Each of them were oddly round, with some stubs coming off of them. He had seen these creatures before. Quickly, a huge one jumped out room in front of Tails and looked Luigi right in the eye. It's eyes deep purple, it's skin porcelain white, it's tongue dark blue, it's teeth jagged and it's voice was grim. Luigi was speechless to this newcomer. Terrifyingly speechless. It spoke to Luigi with a tone of a mixture of glee, and anger.

"Why, hello, Luigi. Ain't it nice to see you here." The being spoke, "And I see you brought company to help free me and my friends. Well, do yourself a favor. Actually, it's also a favor for me too."

It closely leaned in to Luigi face, whispering to him, "Tell the world that King Bo is back. And he's in charge now."

After this, the sentient being yelled out the loudest he could, literally scaring Luigi until he was as white as King Boo's skin. Luigi didn't scream though. He just stood there in terror. He didn't move, he didn't utter a sound. All he did was scream there until finally he reached a point where his eyes slowly fell into the back of his head and he fell to the ground, fainting from the arrival of King Boo.

Waluigi's boots mushed around in the mud as the rain harshly poured down upon him. Today was not a good day. Well, it was actually a mediocre day compared to last week at Mario's party. Actually, compared to most of Mario's parties. The only one that ever really worked out in his favor was the one at his island. And that was just because he got to mess with everyone with Chance Times and Bowser spaces.

But that was besides the point. He was wet and cold now, thanks to the horrid weather. He had to get back home, or at least out of the forest. He sure as heck wasn't going back into that haunted mansion again. No, he wouldn't give anyone the satisfaction of having him in pain.

In the distance, he saw something. A small, wooden outhouse in the middle of nowhere, with a little symbol carved into the door. It as a small circle with two smaller circles carved inside it, and a little spike at the top. He felt he knew this symbol from somewhere. He wasn't sure where, he just felt he knew it.

Lightning flashed. He needed to get out of this rain before he was struck by lightning. Knowing how his day was going, he probably would be struck three times in a row. Because rule of three. He was Genre savvy like that.

He opened the door and stepped inside the outhouse. He closed the door behind him and saw a small bench with a hole in the middle of it. He looked unsurprised at the wall, "Waluigi doesn't know what he expected."

He sat down on the bench, but as far away from the hole as he could. Which was actually pretty good, thanks to his lean figure. He sat there and began to ponder things, hopefully until the storm ended. Like, what the meaning of life was, and what his purpose was. He began to contemplate his life. He was the owner of a successful Bridal boutique, but was that really all there was to his life? He wondered if he would ever know the wonderful feeling of a romantic love, or the relationship between a father and son, or whether or not there would ever come a day when he would be a playable character in Super Smash Brothers.

Suddenly, without warning, a strike of lightning struck the outhouse from the outside, electrifying the entire thing, as well as Waluigi inside it. Quickly his life flashed before his eyes.

His birth, his first lost tooth, his father telling him he was a failure as a son, when he opened up his first Pancake shop, when Wario put him out of Business, when he opened up his second Pancake shop, when Wario put him out of business again, when he opened his third pancake shop, when Richard Nixon put him out of business, that one time he was a fireman, that one time he was a Titan, that one time he was married to Bowser, that one time he was voiced by Morgan Freeman… Man, Waluigi's lived a depressing and weird life.

The electricity strike passed within an instant, and that left the cabin surprisingly intact. Albeit, with a fried, yet alive Waluigi inside, but still. He sat in there, with his skin charred, and his mustache even more bent up than usual, His eyes were wide from the experience of being struck by lightning. Before he could get back to pondering on what the meaning of life was, a female voice sounded off.

"Living Being Detected! Living Being Detected!"

"Wah! No! No, I'm not! I'm Dead! Waluigi's a Zambie!" Waluigi exclaimed in surprise.

"Transporting to lower levels of the lab!" The female voice said aloud.

"Wha-?" Suddenly, the bench Waluigi was on dropped down a shaft, with him on it.. He held on tightly as it traveled at breakneck pace. He saw weird flashing, blue lights as he flew down the weird, elevator-port-a-potty. After a good thirty seconds, the seat he held onto for dear life came to a halt, sending him to bash his head on the ground.

The plumber blinked for a few seconds, taking in his new surroundings. He appeared to be just outside a dark hallway, dimly lit by lights overhead. He slowly got up and tried to figure out where to go from here. He walked up to a doorway on one of the walls and opened it up. It appeared to be a closet. It had coats, old boxes and various other things inside it. Suddenly, he heard yelling from somewhere.

"Oh, dear! Oh, no! This is bad! Bad! Don't worry, Luigi! Tails! I'm coming for you!"

Waluigi, not wanting to be beat up for the twelfth time for trespassing, or the fifth time for when it wasn't on purpose, jumped into the closet and closed the door behind him. In the dark of the closet, Waluigi actually found out that there was a lot of more thing inside then he initially thought. The weight of all of the items began to pound down upon him, pushing him up against the door. It almost felt like an elephant sitting down on an ant. He began to grunt in pain loudly. He hoped that no one heard him grunting in pain so he wouldn't be found. Really, any normal person could. Fortunately for him, the owner of this place wasn't very... normal.

He heard the owner run down the hallway, as well as the beeps and boops of buttons. He heard a ping and a woosh and then silence. He assumed that the guy left, leaving Waluigi all by himself. Which was good. Now he could leave. And maybe take some food if he had any. Before he could reach the door knob, the wood of the closet actually broke and he fell through it, with a whole bunch of things falling on top of him. Actually, everything fell on top of him. The closet was stuffed to it's brim, and a humongous pile of items covered Waluigi.

The Bridal Boutique owner lifted his arm from underneath the pile and clawed his way out. He spat out a dirty sock form the mountain of clothing. What was a sock even doing in there? After a good five minutes of trying to get himself from the deathtrap of mundane items, he took notice that he actually had gotten one thing from it attached to himself. A vacuum cleaner. Waluigi looked at it nozzle and saw the word "Poltergust 3000" on it's handle. Waluigi's face drew blank. He noticed that it's straps were cleanly wrapped around his arms. Almost as if it was put on him by some invisible force. Waluigi looked up at the ceiling with an unamused face.

"I hate you narrator man..."

But this narrator man loves you.

Dyone.

Sorry it took so long to post this chapter. It was longer then I expected it to be.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this chapter. And to any newer readers, I hope you enjoyed this story. It's not over yet, this ride has just begun. Even though it's actually in the middle. You probably can tell who exactly the main antagonists were before the first chapter, but trust me, there IS someone involvd that none of you probably see coming. Or maybe you do. I'll be shocked if you do.

Anyways, remember to read and review, tell me your thoughts on Boofurd, Fantom, and Specks. I really would like to know.
