Okay, I lied. This will not just have 5 chapters with the epilogue included. I think it'll be 5 chapters plus an epilogue.
Enjoy!
"I'm sorry, who are you?" Ga Eul asked, thinking the old man looked very familiar but she still couldn't place him.
He smiled sadly, "Right, I should not be surprised that your mother never talked about me. I am your grandfather."
"Grandfather?" She echoed, "No, my grandfather died when my mother was around 20 years old. I've visited his grave and everything, so that's not possible."
"Ga Eul, dear, it is very true." Song Li Bin confirmed, "While you were sleeping, we needed to get a start somewhere and since you hardly leave your house these days, I figured I'd start there. While looking into your family, particularly your mother, I found out that you have ties to the Kang family."
"Gu Jun Pyo's mother?" She was afraid.
The man, her grandfather, laughed, "No, dear. Not that witch, thank God. No, dear, I guess I should formally introduce myself. I am Kang Tae Jo, your grandfather as I have already told you."
"Hanhwa." She muttered silently.
Yi Jeong still sat down next to her and looked at her, "You really did not know of your ties to the company?"
"No, like I said I always thought that my grandfather died." She muttered, "Why did you not come for me sooner?"
"Much like you did not know I existed, I didn't know either." He explained, "My daughter got in a relationship with a man that was not good for her, your father. People think I kicked her out because he was inferior to us but that was not true. I found out that your father was using your mother for her ties to our family and for the money, as is often the risk when we mingle with what you guys call commoners I think- let me guess, the Kang witch started throwing that around when you were younger."
Yi Jeong nodded, "Yeah, she always used to warn Jun Pyo not to get close to a commoner because it would end up with them sucking him dry for everything he has. We always thought it was the term that every rich person uses for those that have to actually work."
"God, no. I'm not saying we're perfect but we don't use those derogatory words to describe others." Ga Eul's grandfather rolled his eyes, "It's very funny that she should say that though, considering where she comes from."
"Yah, was the witch a commoner?" Yi Jeong asked, "Really?"
"Oh yes, she came from a background even worse than Jan Di's." Song Li Bin nodded, "If only Woo Bin had told me just how far that witch was going and I would have gotten in the middle of it. I didn't know anything that was happening."
"You don't have to worry about that, sir." Ga Eul reassured him, "It all worked out in the end anyway."
Her grandfather smiled at her, "Perhaps we should talk together in another room."
"I'm sure you're hungry, Ga Eul. You know where the dining room is, right? We'll be waiting there for you so we can talk some more." The mafioso approached her and dropped a quick kiss to the top of her head, "There are some spare clothes for you on the table over there. You might want to get changed."
"Thank you." She said as they left the room. She went to get up but saw Yi Jeong still seated on the bed, "Sunbae?"
"What?" He asked, not moving an inch when she indicated her head to the door. "You're mad if you think I would leave you alone right now. I already told you, you are mine. I've done a shit job at protecting you so far but that stops now. I will not leave your side while your still weak so, you better get used to being around me."
"You cannot actually mean that." The commoner girl, well not really it seemed, was flabbergasted but decided it was not worth the fight. Despite her having slept late into the afternoon, she was still tired. Too tired to actually fight with him. So she walked over to the table and took out a pair of jeans from the large bag and a loose top with a cardigan. She rolled her eyes when she saw Yi Jeong watching her intently and moved to change behind the changing curtain at the side of the room.
"Darling, you can change right here. It's nothing I'm not going to see at some point. Don't you know already, yo-"
"I'm yours, yes I heard." She snapped, "That means nothing, sunbae. You can call me yours all you want but at the end of the day, it won't be me warming your bed, will it? You'll still go to the club and find some groupie to go home with you. Saying something and actually making it true are two different things."
He quickly got up from the bed and stalked towards her, making her feel as if she was being cornered by a hunter and she was it's prey. "What was that?"
She held her chin high defiantly, "I said, you can actually call me yours but it wouldn't mean shit. You're saying a whole lot but not really doing anything about it."
"You want me to do something about it, Ga Eul-yang?" He asked rhetorically, invading her personal space. "Is that truly what you want? I was planning on giving you some time to adjust, you know? Sleep some more, eat, get some rest because when I start with you... you're not getting a whole lot of rest."
"Yi-"
He cut her off by planting his lips fully on hers. Despite not having had a lot of practice, she was able to keep up with his kisses and threw her arms around his neck. He growled at her response to his kisses and dragged his hands down her back to her thighs and made her wrap her legs around his hips.
When the need for air became too much, their lips broke apart and they rested their foreheads against each other, panting from their hot make out session.
If it had not yet been clear what Yi Jeong's intentions towards her were, they were abundantly clear after their kiss. She had complained of him not taking any action, well now he had and she could not complain about it at all. She had after all goaded him into losing control like that.
"Maybe I should get dressed and we should go down." Ga Eul whispered a moment later, having finally been able to catch her breath again, "It's been a while and they're probably wondering where we are."
"Fine." He agreed, "But after that, we're leaving. And your grandfather's right, you're going home. But not with him."
"Sunbae?"
"I've had enough of us running around, chasing each other. I want us to be together, in every way possible. I won't stop you from seeing your grandfather if that's what you want but you're not moving into his house." He said, letting her down and giving her the clothes she'd dropped on the floor. "I'm ready to start a life with you and I don't see how we can start a life together if we're not living together."
"I don't want to just live off of you, sunbae." Ga Eul said, "I want to contribute to our home, if we are going to do that."
He nodded, "Sure. You can just take care of dinner and stuff, if you really insist on doing something but you're not my maid, Ga Eul so I don't want you to worry about keeping the place clean or something because we have people for that."
"You-"
"We." He stressed, "From now on, there is no me without you. We. We have people coming for that. We have a studio. We are going to Sweden."
"Sweden?"
"That's right, you don't know. I never got to tell you." He watched as she changed, although she was awkward doing it in front of him, he noticed that she didn't shy away about doing it. "I'm combining my therapy here in Korea with occasional visits to other potters in Sweden who will help me with improving my handwork again."
"That is great, sunbae." She smiled, "I'm sure you'll be sitting behind the wheel in no time again."
"We're going to Sweden next week already." He told her, "Make sure you can take five days off."
"I have school." She stated, "I can't just leave school again for a couple of days."
"I'll take care of it then." He shrugged, "Now let's go."
"We're not done talking about this." She hissed.
He pulled her along with a smile. "We'll see."
