Yet another cast was added to the poor boy's body and security were permanently posted outside the door.
Izuku stayed by his side for the rest of the day and distracted him by catching him up with everything that had happened since he disappeared. When Todoroki did doze off multiple times he didn't mind and moved onto playing with his hair instead, but when visiting hours did come to an end, Shoto was incredibly reluctant to let him go.
"I'll be right here again tomorrow when you wake up, alright? It's the weekend tomorrow so you can have me all day, that sound okay?" Izuku rubbed his cheek softly and raised an eyebrow.
Todoroki gave a small nod and let go of him. "I'll hold you to that."
Izuku chuckled slightly and left with a wave.

To his surprise, he wasn't the first to turn up the next day. When Midoriya had arrived Aizawa was seated at Todoroki's bedside.
"Sensei?"
"Morning Midoriya," Aizawa spared him a glance before looking back at Todoroki.
"I wasn't expecting you to be here."
"I wanted to see him since he's allowed visitors again, I needed too."
Todoroki looked up at Midoriya happily and puppy dog eyed the smaller boy until he climbed into bed beside him. Midoriya slid himself under Shoto, setting him against his chest and wrapping his arms around him protectively.
"There's a topic that needs bringing up," Aizawa's crimson eyes travelled towards Midoriya knowingly. "A delicate situation that was not brought to my attention sooner."
Said boy started to squirm under his disappointed gaze.
"Sir this isn't Izuku's fault, I asked him to keep it all under wraps-"
The teacher raised his hand stopping Todoroki. "This isn't just like some little secret Todoroki. This is an extremely serious matter and I'm disappointed it was not brought to my attention. I'm your teacher for crying out loud, I'm more disappointed in myself for not seeing the signs sooner."
"This is exactly what I didn't want, please.. don't blame yourself, I don't want any of you too, this is my problem to bear."
"No Todoroki." Aizawa's voice rose a fraction in exasperation causing Todoroki to recoil into Midoriya's chest slightly. "I haven't been there for you, I didn't protect you from your father and I failed to protect you from those villains. I have failed as your teacher."
Midoriya frowned sadly and ran his fingers through his boyfriend's hair softly. "What's going to happen now?"
"Myself, Principal Nezu and All Might are going to do what we can, using evidence Todoroki's siblings have complied over the years along with all of your statements, we'd like to take Endeavour to court."
Shoto's eye shot back up to meet his teacher's in shock.
"We will not let Endeavour come near you ever again, he won't touch you Todoroki. Everyone involved in the case will be asked to keep it out of the press until we have everything we need to go public. I can safely say that I don't think there'll be many that'll defend him when we do."
Small tears dripped down the half and half boy's face as he gripped a fistful of Izuku's shirt weakly in his hand. "It'll.. it'll be okay?"
Aizawa set a hand on his knee and rubbed it softly with his thumb. "You will have a home in the dorms with your friends, you will enjoy being a kid for once and never have to worry about going back there to him. I'm going to need help from both of you though, I need you to tell me everything."
And so they did. The two young boys spent their morning with their teacher going over everything, his dad's quirk marriage with his mother, the training, his burn, the abuse.. everything. Todoroki told Aizawa how he was a successful experiment while his siblings were cast aside as failures, he told him how he was his father's masterpiece, that he intensively trained him to take over All Might one day where he had failed.
It was a long and emotional morning. By midday, Shoto was completely drained and asleep snuggled in with Izuku as the gaunt-faced teacher rose quietly to leave.
To say Aizawa was pale was an understatement. His skin was a sickly pale green and his had eyes sunken into their sockets. No child should have gone through what his student had. His mouth was set in a thin line pressed with determination, a determination to bring the Number 1 Hero Endeavour to his knees. Heading back to the dorms he was immediately met by Hizashi- better known as Present Mic- as he approached the building.
"Shouta? I just got your text.." His sentence trailed off taking in the other teacher's appearance. "It's worse than you thought wasn't it?" The unusually tame pro hero didn't wait for an answer- no longer needing it- and gently pulled him into a hug.
Aizawa bit down on his trembling lip and practically slumped into him. "The bastard basically tortured him Zashi.. you didn't hear the things he did- and I never even noticed!" The trembling of his lip spread throughout his body. "I keep failing my kids.. why am I so incapable?"
"Enough. Don't say that bullshit," Hizashi winced at his harsh tone but continued on. "You are an amazing teacher and you're going to dry those eyes and save that kid by taking Endeavour down."
Sniffing back-*- tears Aizawa nodded and hardened his face determined. "You're damn right we will."

After talking to Aizawa, Todoroki spent another week in the hospital with regular visits from Recovery Girl until he was finally cleared to go home under her supervision. The minor injuries had healed up while the much more significant ones remained, slowly being healed over time and with Recovery Girl's quirk. It was around nine in the morning when Aizawa brought his car around to pick Todoroki up who was escorted out of the hospital and put straight in with his wheelchair loaded into the boot. The teacher gave a quick survey of the area before getting into the driver's seat and heading back to the UA dorms.
The drive was quiet. Aizawa spared a few glances in his rear-view mirror but it was clear that the bi-colour haired boy wasn't up for initiating a conversation.
"So.. Recovery Girl tells me you're recovering well." He received only a nod in response. "Your classmates are looking forward to seeing you, Midoriya has been very restless wanting to see you."
Todoroki perked up slightly at the mention of his boyfriend. "What do I say to them all? I can't even begin to make up for the pain I've put them through.."
Aizawa's brows furrowed slightly as he glanced back at the boy, making eye contact. "Todo... Shoto. You should not in any way, shape or form feel guilty for something completely out of your hands. The thought of blame would never even cross any of their minds, all they're feeling is completely relieved and excited to have you back and I will not hear any different, okay?"
Todoroki nodded quietly and looked out the window as the car pulled up to the dorms and spotted the main doors fly open and his class rush out, Midoriya front and centre. A grumble from the front of the car caught him off guard and he peeled his longing eyes off his partner.
"Bloody kids. I've told them to back off you so you're not overwhelmed-"
"No please, it's okay," His thoughts unwillingly turned to the empty loneliness he had been trapped in, the constant pain and fading hope of never seeing everyone he cared about again. "I want to see them all."
Warmth broke through and overwhelmed the coldness locked in his chest, seeping throughout his body and bringing him comfort with the sight of seeing his own quirky family again.

From the moment Todoroki was taken out of the car, to now where the class was sat together in the common area enjoying hot chocolates- his suspiciously having a vast amount more cream and marshmallows than everyone else's- Midoriya had not let go of him for a second, not that he minded. The previously missing (and supposedly dead) boy was welcomed back immediately with joy and lots of sweets courtesy of Satou. Aizawa hung around while the class caught Todoroki up on what had happened, all the while constantly offering him food to fill out his worryingly thin form, until early afternoon when his eyes began to droop tiredly.
"I'll take him up to his room," Izuku smiled softly rubbing his boyfriend's head gently.
"I'm surprised he stayed awake this long to be honest," Uraraka smiled softly.
Aizawa got up from his seat and shoved his hands into his pockets. "Alright kids I know you're happy and are celebrating but if I hear any of you wake him up you'll answer to me, got it?" Quick nods answered his threat as he turned and headed out the dorms.
Izuku smiled softly and carefully scooped his boyfriend into his arms bridal style. "You guys carry on, I'll get him into bed."
His classmates responded with affirmative hums as he carried Todoroki over to the lift and took him to his bedroom, tucking him in with new fluffy blankets the class had gotten him.
"Sleep tight Shoto," Izuku laid a light kiss on his forehead and returned to the common area with the rest of his class.
Curled under the thick new blankets tainted with the familiar scent of the dorms, Shoto slept calmly with a small smile lingering on his face, happy to be back with his friends.
The End.
