"We've intercepted a whole mess of transmissions from Team Rocket," Meowth told Brock, Gary, and Misty. "Dey seem to be operatin' outta da gym in Viridian."

"So Giovanni's not there?" Gary asked.

"We haven't been able to contact Giovanni," James explained. "But there's something going on at the gym. We were actually about to send a team out to investigate. But if you guys would like to do that for us, it'd be most welcome."

"We'll get right on it," Misty replied. "Any other leads of any sort?"

"Yeah, actually," Meowth answered. "We've managed to trace da signal back to da source."

"I thought it was all being transmitted via the communications hubs in each major city," Brock frowned.

"It is," Meowth confirmed, "but there's a source location that can switch it off before it gets to da hubs. You kill the source, no more signal. You can take da whole ting down with just one swipe."

"This is what we've been waiting for!" Gary exclaimed excitedly. "This could be exactly what we need!"

"Great, den get goin'," Meowth instructed. "Dis opportunity won't last forever. Once dey figure out we've been trackin' 'em, dey'll do somethin' tricky. Da source is da hub in Vermilion."

"You got it," Gary grinned. "Thanks, Meowth. You too, James."

"Don't mention it," James responded, then the communication was cut.

"I can't believe our luck!" Gary said, his excitement almost overflowing. "Ash could be being held at the Viridian gym! We have to get going!"

"Hold on a second," Brock cut in, still frowning with clear skepticism. "This all seems a little convenient to me."

"I'm with Brock," Misty agreed. "I don't like this."

"C'mon, guys!" Gary dismissed them. "Don't be like that! This is coming from Meowth and James. The police! They have access to stuff we can only dream about having. And you heard what Meowth said. This opportunity won't last forever. We have to act on it right away!"

"Okay, but I still think something's up," Brock kept frowning. "I don't know what exactly, but this just doesn't feel right to me. I mean, Vermilion?"

"It's almost the centre of Kanto," Gary shrugged. "Makes perfect sense to me. You're just being paranoid."

"I hope you're right, Gary," Misty said softly. "Anyway, let's just get the others in here so we can plan this out."

"Meowth and James just informed us that the signal's source is the Vermilion City Communications Hub," Gary told the group. "They've also told us that Team Rocket may be operating out of Viridian City, using the gym as a base. They've been intercepting communications from there, and were going to investigate. So we were thinking of sending in two teams – one to check out the Viridian gym, and the other to storm the Vermilion hub."

"I'm going to Vermilion," Surge announced. "It's my home town, and I have experience planning these kinds of assaults."

"Then I'm going to Viridian," Gary said.

"I'll take Bella, Brock, and Erika," Surge ordered. "Misty, Sabrina, you're with Oak."

"Just a sec," Brock countered. "That leaves Professor Oak's place totally defenceless. And besides, you can't send all the Elite Four members to one place. We'll need their help."

"We have all the power we need, Brock," Surge disagreed. "They'll need those three if they're storming what could be the Rockets' base."

"I'll go with you, sir," Bella told Surge, "but I agree with Brock. We need to keep at least two of us here to protect this place."

"Brock and Erika, you stay here," Professor Oak decided for them. "Golem will be too heavy to carry all the way to Vermilion anyway."

"Works for me," Brock agreed with a shrug.

"Fine then," Surge said with a hint of irritation. "I'll take Bella and Oak. Misty and Sabrina can hit the Viridian gym on their own. Get ready. We leave at nineteen-hundred."

Misty checked the time: there was half an hour left to get ready. She left the room without a word, hoping no one noticed. She wasn't in the mood to talk to anyone. She rushed off to the little house Professor Oak had on the other side of the ranch – which they'd all stayed in before – and was surprised and relieved to find that she made it there without anyone interrupting her.

She grabbed her bag and began rifling through it, looking for something appropriate to wear.

Something badass and sexy.

"Why? Planning on seducing some Team Rocket grunts?"

She spun around in surprise to find Sabrina standing in the doorway.

"It never hurts to leave your options open," she answered, turning back to her bag.

"Then keep this in mind: Team Rocket know us well now, and they won't be surprised to see you, even if they don't know we're coming. Seducing them won't work unless they're particularly dense. You could go out there totally naked and they'll still attack you."

"That sounds weird coming from you," Misty snorted in amusement, looking her up and down. "Look how you're dressed."

Sabrina pushed her boobs up and smirked at her, then ran her fingertips down her tight leather top all the way to her thighs, which were wrapped in more tight leather.

"This is how I choose to look," she said. "I know people get distracted by my body. It makes them let their guard down without them even realising. Besides, I feel natural like this. If I dressed like Erika, I'd feel like a lie. I'm not like her. I'm edgy and sexy and badass."

"So what are you suggesting then?"

Sabrina stepped right up close to her, then put her hands on Misty's waist. She traced a fingernail lightly up her body all the way to the back of her neck, then gently tilted her face down until she had an eyeful of her cleavage. She took Misty's wrist in her other hand and directed it to her butt as she slowly pushed her face into her breasts. Misty's breathing sped up as she absent-mindedly ran her fingers over Sabrina's ass, then began breathing more heavily the more aroused she became.

"And you weren't even in the mood for this," Sabrina whispered in her ear. "A few seconds ago you were angry."

Misty stepped back and immediately looked away.

"I'm sorry, I don't know what came over me," she apologised. "We're friends, and I wouldn't –"

Sabrina gently touched Misty's face and turned it back towards her, and Misty's eyes were immediately drawn back down. She started breathing quickly again before Sabrina touched her chin and lifted it so she was looking into her eyes.

"Don't apologise," Sabrina whispered. "I'm just proving a point. This is me. This is how I am. I like the attention, whether I intend to use it for fun or as a weapon. I know I probably won't be able to use it against Team Rocket too much, but I don't care."

She stepped away from her and smiled warmly. "What would you do if you were looking really hot, and a really gross guy came up to you and started grabbing you and stuff?"

"I'd probably kick his ass," Misty admitted.

"Would you enjoy it?"

"Damn straight, I would."

"Well, you like looking hot, and you like beating up guys, so go with badass and sexy like you wanted to in the first place."

Misty looked at her quizzically.

"So why question what I wanna wear at all?" she asked. "You made it sound like a bad idea."

"You know I can read your mind when I want to, right?"

"Oh, I don't even know why I care what I'm wearing," Misty sighed, looking away again and feeling defeated. "I'm not going on a date, I'm going to fight Team Rocket."

"It's not about the clothes," Sabrina shook her head. "This is about you. So much has happened to you so quickly, you haven't had a chance to stop and figure out who you are now. Your style is just as much a part of you as your mindset. You're indecisive because you don't know yourself anymore, so you don't know how to reflect it in your style. You keep changing your look all the time lately and being indecisive right now is just an outward indication of your inner turmoil."

Misty looked back up at Sabrina, who smiled warmly back at her again.

"So what I'm suggesting is that you don't need to do or be or look like anything special or out of the ordinary for you. You haven't done anything wrong, and what's happened lately doesn't need to completely change who you are. You're still Misty; you're still my beautiful, violent, feisty little friend. No matter what you do or what you look like, you'll always be Misty."

Tears welled in Misty's eyes as Sabrina spoke. She wrapped her arms around her waist and gave her a tight hug.

"Thanks Sabrina," she said softly. "I don't know what I'd do without you."

"Don't mention it," Sabrina winked at her as they pulled away. "I'll always be here for you, babe."

Sabrina smiled again, then turned to leave.

"Hey Misty?"

"Mmm?"

"We both owe them for what they've done," Sabrina said sternly as she stood in the doorway and turned back around. "Let's make sure they suffer properly, okay?"

Misty nodded back with fresh ferocity behind her eyes.

"Count on it."

The Pallet Pidgeots were assembled and ready for flight as Misty arrived, back from the guest house where she'd just changed. They had serious looks on their faces, and had no doubt just been briefed by Lieutenant Surge.

"If everyone's ready, then we'll get going," he said.

Bella, Surge, and Gary mounted their Pidgeots with Raichu and Umbreon, while Misty and Sabrina leapt aboard theirs with Psyduck and Starmie.

"You sure you're okay?" Misty asked Sabrina.

"Fine," Sabrina assured her. "Don't worry about me. I'm just glad I had your Psyduck to help me snap out of it."

Psyduck was still in a trance-like state, which was extremely unnatural to Misty. She was used to him being very slapstick and embarrassing, and it unnerved her seeing him like this. Before she could dwell any more on it, the Pidgeots took off. There was no speech or any extraneous fanfare of any sort – they just took off. Bella, Surge, and Gary headed east immediately, and very quickly disappeared from view. Sabrina and Misty headed north to the nearby city of Viridian, and at the pace the Pidgeots flew at, arrived there before they'd even had time to adjust to being in the air.

"Stay out of sight, but not too far from the gym," Misty told the Pidgeots. "We don't know what's gonna happen, so if something goes wrong we'll need a quick exit."

The Pidgeots nodded their understanding, then swiftly and silently took to the air. They'd landed just to the south of Viridian Forest, using the cover of darkness and the forest itself to land unseen. Misty had been here so many times now that she knew the town almost as well as she knew her home town of Cerulean City. They weren't expecting any company along the way, but still kept to the shadows regardless, just in case. Misty knew a few shortcuts to the gym as well, and chose the least conspicuous of them to travel down.

"How far to the gym?" Sabrina asked.

"Only a block from here," Misty answered very softly.

"Something's wrong, then."

Misty stopped.

"What is it?"

"I don't sense any guards," Sabrina told her. "Maybe we should teleport in."

"If there's no guards, then why waste the energy?"

Sabrina didn't answer right away, and it was too dark to see her expression.

"Just be careful," she finally said.

They rounded the last corner and saw the gym to their right, lit up the same way it always was. It had a huge Earth Badge logo next to the words 'Viridian City Gym' in huge block letters.

So far, so good.

Misty started to feel a little uneasy as they got closer, noting that Sabrina was right: there was no one out the front of the gym to guard it.

Wait a minute, there's never anyone guarding the front. Why would they put guards out there, like a big stupid sign that says 'Team Rocket Front'?

"They wouldn't, because they know the only people who would suspect anything would be you and I."

"I wish you wouldn't do that," Misty grumbled.

"You make it so much fun," Sabrina grinned back.

"So you think this is a trap?"

"No. I mean, I don't see how it could be…"

"So, stealth? Or barge in and see what happens?"

"I'll barge in, you stealth. Careful of the door camera."

Misty nodded at Starmie, who stayed out of sight of the camera and waited for the signal. She clicked her fingers just as Sabrina pushed the curiously unlocked doors open, and Starmie sprayed the camera with a weak Water Gun attack, leaping into the air and using the recoil to fly backwards through the open doors. Misty darted inside at the same time and kept to the shadows while Sabrina made no effort to conceal herself or Psyduck whatsoever.

I'll head to the back right away. That's where Giovanni kept his more questionable stuff in the past, they might be using it again.

Sabrina nodded her understanding, and Misty was suddenly curious as to why she'd never thought to use Sabrina's mind-reading abilities for this purpose before.

The gym was dark, like it always was. The only well-lit area of the whole place was the battlefield, which Misty noticed as Sabrina opened the huge double doors that led to it. As soon as they closed, only the emergency lighting made navigating her way around possible. Around the enormous battlefield there was a corridor, which housed storage cupboards for cleaning supplies and not much else. She tiptoed along it as carefully and gracefully as she could, deftly avoiding making too much sound with her block-heeled black leather knee boots on the hardwood floor.

The glow of another emergency light shined off her boots as she stepped past it, and she noticed she only had another twenty feet or so before the end of the corridor. She hadn't seen anyone yet, and that made her worry slightly.

I thought Meowth and James said this place was crawling with Rocket activity. I haven't seen a damn thing.

She peeked past the corner and saw no one again, so she and Starmie kept going, spotting a large steel double-door leading to the rear of the gym, with another opposite it leading to the battlefield. She couldn't hear any sounds coming from the battlefield. She'd expected to hear someone inside talking to Sabrina, since the front doors were unlocked.

"Starmie, open those doors using Psychic, and be as quiet as you can," she whispered.

Starmie obliged, and the doors silently swung open – until they clicked when they reached ninety degrees, echoing around the entire gym. Misty quickly hid behind the closest open door and listened intently for any sounds coming from the room beyond. Hearing nothing, she sighed with relief and peeked around it: nothing. She frowned with mistrust as she entered the room, still stepping slowly and carefully to avoid making any unnecessary noise with her boots.

The room was pitch black, and she dare not go any further without being able to see anything, for fear of walking into something and making an enormous racket. She fumbled for a light switch, and after about ten excruciating seconds finally found one. She flipped it, and nothing happened. Suddenly a spotlight came on, revealing a single Team Rocket grunt seated in a chair about thirty metres from her. She couldn't see anything else around him.

"Is that better?" the grunt grinned. "You know, you're very good at this sneaking around business. If I hadn't been warned you were coming, I wouldn't even know you were here."

"What?" Misty growled angrily as Starmie leapt in front of her, ready for action.

The grunt stood up and stepped slowly towards her, wearing a big grin on his face.

"That's right, I knew you were coming," he gloated. "I know a lot of things that you probably don't want me to know about you."

"Let's just get this outta the way," Misty said impatiently, her teeth clenched. "Show me what you've got."

"Very well," the grunt sighed, his arms out wide in a gesture of compliance. "Come out here, Venusaur!"

The ground shook as a huge Venusaur stepped out from the shadows. Several more lights came on around her, showing her that the hall-sized room was completely empty. She was surrounded by concrete floor and steel-reinforced walls, and nothing else. There were still shadows around the very edges of the room, and what looked like another door at the rear of the room, but Misty wasn't concerned with that right now.

"I must thank you," the grunt continued. "This is my chance to step up in Team Rocket. I've been charged with your capture, and if I succeed, my reward will be great indeed."

"Then it's too bad you won't live long enough for me to savour your defeat," Misty countered with cold fury. "Starmie! Hydro Pump!"

Starmie leapt forward, then stood firm as its three uppermost appendages aimed forwards, then let loose a blast of water powerful enough to break through a brick wall. The blast struck the Venusaur square in the head, and Misty grinned shortly before her jaw dropped: the Venusaur began walking forwards as Starmie kept blasting it.

"That's not possible…"

"Oh, but it is, Miss Waterflower!" the grunt boomed in amusement. "Venusaur, Vine Whip!"

Misty's gaping jaw clenched shut as a pair of vines shot out from beneath Venusaur's flower so quickly she barely had time to register what had happened. They wrapped around Starmie's left and right upper appendages, then threw it into the air. Starmie let out a cry of pain as it struck the roof, then fell to the cold, concrete floor.

"No! Starmie! Get up!" she squealed. "You're tougher than that!"

Starmie did get up: slowly at first, then it stood strong and seemed relatively undamaged despite the ferocity of the Vine Whip attack.

"I'm impressed," the grunt stated arrogantly, making Misty grit her teeth in anger. "You've trained it well."

"You've seen nothing!" she growled from between clenched teeth. "Now you're gonna witness what the best Water Pokémon trainer in the world is capable of! I don't care what genetic enhancements you bastards have made, me and my Starmie are gonna crush you the old fashioned way! Starmie! Psychic!"

Starmie pointed its topmost appendage at the Venusaur, and the Venusaur instantly froze. After another second it roared in pain, then crashed to the ground clutching its head.

"What?!" the grunt cried out in surprise. "Venusaur! Energy Ball!"

The Venusaur got up, still roaring in pain. It opened its mouth and shot out a bright green ball of light that hit Starmie almost as quickly as it was formed. Starmie never had a chance to dodge, and was hit head-on. It stumbled around for a few moments, then fell on its back. Misty watched in horror as the bright red jewel at its centre flashed several times.

"No, no, no!" she muttered desperately. "C'mon, Starmie! We're not done here!"

"I think this battle is over," the grunt laughed. "Finish it, Venusaur! Energy Ball!"

"Starmie! Psychic!"

Starmie leapt to its feet again, stumbling slightly as the Venusaur opened its mouth and launched its next Energy Ball attack. The ball shot towards Starmie with bullet speed, but suddenly stopped a few feet from impact. The Venusaur began roaring in pain again, then the ball began moving back towards it – slowly at first, but increasing in speed until it struck the Venusaur in the face. It cried out when it was struck, but to Misty's horror it got straight back up again, and only looked angrier. She was staggered by the Venusaur's endurance and power, and equally staggered and terrified of the pure rage it exhibited now.

"This...thing…" she began, not able to find the words.

"It's magnificent," the grunt finished for her. "Most other Pokémon would be finished right now. Type advantages aside, I'm certain your Starmie would have demolished pretty much any other Venusaur in the world. And that's the genius and beauty of the GE Pokémon. Combining all our previous experiments, we were able to work with that maniac Jensen to create something truly horrifying. A weapon that will finally make Team Rocket feared worldwide, with no opposition. Our leader's plan is without fault, and her vision will finally be made reality after all these years, in no small part thanks to your own efforts, Miss Waterflower. Eradicating the true Elite Four and all other opposition would never have been possible without your intervention. You've played into our leader's hands perfectly."

"I've heard enough!" Misty screamed. "Starmie, Blizzard!"

Starmie aimed its top three appendages at the Venusaur once more, then shot out a spray of water from each that froze almost as soon as they were emitted. The tiny shards of ice became a storm that swallowed the Venusaur entirely, making it roar in pain and fury as it was struck repeatedly. It tried to break free, stepping forward and attempting to lash out with its Razor Leaf attack to combat the Blizzard, but it was no use. After a sustained attack that lasted almost twenty seconds, the Venusaur was defeated. It lay on its belly, panting heavily, its body partially frozen.

"That won't be enough," the grunt grinned. "This GE Venusaur, it'll recover soon. And when it does, it'll kill you and your Starmie."

"Then I'm sorry to Venusaur for what I'm about to do," Misty frowned intensely. "Starmie, use Psychic one more time."

Starmie spun around and stared at Misty with its faceless expression, and Misty knew that it was questioning her.

"I know you don't wanna do this, Starmie," she said. "I don't wanna do it either. It's not Venusaur's fault. I get that. But you heard the asshole – if we don't stop it, it's going to get back up and kill us both. Venusaur doesn't have a say in this anymore."

Starmie's body sagged, and Misty knew it understood, but was terribly upset by the prospect of killing another Pokémon. It wasn't in their nature to kill, after all. Starmie stepped forward, but then hesitated.

"You can't do it, can you?" Misty sighed.

Starmie slumped some more, then leapt back over to Misty.

"Weak," the grunt grinned. "Now you'll experience the full might of Team Rocket! It's been fun, Miss Waterflower, but I'm afraid our time is up."

"Starmie, Ice Beam! Freeze that Venusaur like an Eiscue's head!"

Starmie happily leapt forward again, thrilled to be using an attack that wouldn't kill a fellow Pokémon. It shot a thick blue beam from its upper appendage, freezing the Venusaur rather quickly, due to it already being restrained and partially frozen. Starmie didn't stop until the block of ice containing Venusaur was three times bigger than it.

"So, the full might of Team Rocket, huh?" Misty taunted the grunt. "Have you got another Pokémon? Or is that all the might you Rocket bastards have to offer me?"

"My ascension to the height of Team Rocket glory won't be held back by a pathetic red-headed teenager like you!" the grunt snarled. "And I don't need a Pokémon to put you in your place!"

"I could easily just have Starmie blast you through the back wall with Hydro Pump," Misty grinned, "but it'll be so much more satisfying to kick your ass personally."

"Your funeral, Waterflower!" the grunt yelled.

He stomped his way towards her, and Misty stood perfectly still, just waiting for him. When he reached her, he clumsily swung a fist at her, which she easily dodged, but was caught off-guard by a sweeping leg that landed her on her back. She cried out in surprise more than pain as she hit the concrete floor, and was immediately set upon by the grunt, who knelt either side of her waist and prepared to pummel her face with his fists. She quickly slammed a palm into his groin, then lifted a calf up in front of his face and swept him backwards by the throat.

The grunt muttered a curse as he fell, and Misty quickly crawled out from underneath him. She snapped a kick into the side of his face to stun him, then crawled around behind him and wrapped an arm around his neck. She locked on a rear naked choke, but the grunt seemed to at least partially know what he was doing, and managed to slip his wrist inside first. He pawed at her face with his other hand, and managed to grab a lock of her hair. Misty cried out in pain as he pulled hard, then quickly wrapped her legs around his waist to give him something else to think about.

"I won't let you win, you little bitch," he wheezed.

"You've already lost," she told him, straightening out her legs and squeezing with tremendous force. The grunt immediately let go of her hair and pulled his other hand out of her choke hold to pay attention to the crushing pressure of her thighs on his ribs. He roared in pain, then began whimpering and begging for her to stop as his ribs bent under the pressure. But Misty had no intention of stopping. Instead, she applied as much pressure as she could, feeling and hearing as several ribs popped. Before he could yell in pain, she tightened the choke hold around his neck. He coughed and spluttered, pawing desperately at her arms for a few seconds before going completely limp. She unwrapped herself, spitting on him as she got up.

"Ice Beam, Starmie. Then maybe give Venusaur a booster-freeze."

Starmie obeyed willingly, freezing the grunt into a three-metre-square block of ice before re-freezing Venusaur to ensure it didn't escape.

"That felt good," Misty grinned in satisfaction at Starmie. "You think Raichu would have approved?"

"Absolute WEAKLING!"

Misty looked up in shock to see a figure floating down towards the ground, held up by a Charizard.

"I know that voice…"

The figure finally reached the ground, having leapt from an upper level balcony looking over the back room of the Viridian gym. Misty instantly recognised her.

"Good thing I don't care about him," Jessie said with her distinctively shrill voice. "I knew you were coming, and I knew you'd beat him. I just needed to know how badly you'd beat him."

The Charizard spat a white-hot flame at the grunt, quickly defrosting him. He woke up slowly, shaking uncontrollably as he tried to roll onto his back, the effects of Starmie's ice prison taking a much higher toll on him than a Pokémon may have experienced.

"Th-thanks...b-boss…" the grunt stammered.

"You're a disgrace," Jessie growled at him. "I put you in charge of this trap, give you a GE Venusaur, and you can't stop one little twerp and her pathetic little Starmie."

"B-b-boss! I-I t-tried...sh-she's...she's…"

"You failed!" Jessie snapped at him. "You were humiliated by her in your Pokémon battle, then you let her humiliate you again afterwards! How do you think you looked? A Team Rocket soldier lying on the ground, totally helpless while a teenage twerp squeezes you half to death?!"

"B-but b-b-boss…"

"Enough! The twerp was weak. She should have killed you, instead of just embarrassing you. This is what I would have done."

Jessie took a step towards the grunt and raised a leg above his head. The grunt panicked wildly, putting his hands up in a feeble defensive gesture before she stomped on his neck. Her sharp stiletto heel punctured his flesh, and he went into shock instantly as blood spurted from the wound. She grinned at Misty as she removed her heel and walked a few paces towards her, the grunt convulsing violently for a few moments before becoming very still.

"It is you!" Misty gasped. "You're a monster!"

"Yes, it's me," Jessie scowled. "And your days of ruining everything I do are over! You think you won when you stopped the Legendary Birds? When you stopped the Elite Four? You think you're so adorable, with your cute little shorts and your pretty red hair, trying to make me look bad no matter what I do, but this time you're finished! This time you haven't got a chance!"

"You sick, sick freak," Misty frowned in disgust at her. "You think this is about you? Why would I give any kind of a fuck what you think about anything?"

"You expect me to believe you're not trying to be prettier than me? To stop me so I don't steal your spotlight?" Jessie laughed hysterically. "Oh, that's rich, especially coming from a tiny, pathetic little twerp like you. You don't even get to gaze upon my beauty. You're a child! A joke! And I'm sick of everyone fawning over you, worshipping at the cutesie twerp altar as you screw up another one of my brilliant plans. Well guess what? This time, you're totally outmatched. You have no idea what you're up against, and I'm going to personally end you once and for all. It doesn't even matter that this idiot opened his mouth more than he should have. I won't let you live long enough for it to be of any use to you."

"I've beaten you before, Jessie," Misty seethed, "and I'll do it again. Thanks to the grunt you killed, I know all about your conspiracy. I know all about your years-long plan, and I'm gonna tell everyone."

"My plan?" Jessie laughed. "You think I'm the leader?"

"Huh?" Misty raised an eyebrow.

"You poor, sweet moron," Jessie snarled. "At least I have brains to go with my beauty. You really have no idea how bad this is for you, do you? You've been betrayed. This has always been about you, whether you realise it or not."

Jessie held up a small remote control and pressed the single button on its face, activating the rear doors of the giant back room they were in. The doors slowly swung open, and seven extremely angry-looking Pokémon came out. Suddenly the room was occupied by a Charizard, a Machamp, a Venomoth, a Weezing, an Alakazam, a Weavile, a Magnezone, and the frozen Venusaur. The Charizard began thawing out the Venusaur on Jessie's command, and the Venusaur shakily got to its feet again, looking as angry and bloodthirsty as the other seven Pokémon. Misty gulped.

I barely beat the Venusaur...there's no possible way I can beat eight of these freaks!

Suddenly she felt an arm wrap around her exposed waist, and she knew it was Sabrina.

"This might be about her, but she's not alone," Sabrina told Jessie, then quickly teleported the two of them onto the roof of the gym.

Sabrina collapsed immediately upon them rematerialising.

"Sabrina! Are you okay?"

"Fine...just...exhausted...get us home, Misty."

Misty pressed a fingertip to her ear and activated her earpiece.

"Ritchie! Brock! Anyone! Come in!" she squealed.

"Misty! Thank goodness you're okay," Ritchie answered. "Surge is in –"

"Just get the Pallet Pidgeots here right away!" Misty interrupted. "We need an evac right now!"

"No worries, just hold on, Misty. They'll be there in thirty seconds."
