AN: Hey everyone. This is just going to be a fun little side project that I do while I work on The Princess of the Lake Kingdom. I hope you enjoy this, and I sincerely hope you find it funny.

Chapter 1 Don't Touch the Macguffin!

If there was one thing that StarlitDuck knew how to do, it was stare at a screen. Really, most people spent a lot of time staring at a screen, but StarlitDuck was a master at it. That kind of came with the territory of being a fanfiction writer.

The teenager sat in her bedroom. Her air conditioner was sending cool air spreading across the messy abode. The blue carpet was in a need of dusting, the blankets were crumpled like notebook paper. Yet, Star had more important things to do. Mainly, staring at a screen.

Okay, so she wasn't only staring at a screen. She was also typing away on her phone. Words were piling up like pieces of dirty laundry (a fitting metaphor, because that's what her room was full of). She was working on a Super Koopalings episode, and an important one at that.

Star loved writing Super Koopalings. It was a fun activity, and it really allowed her to express herself. Granted, the whole endeavor of writing it meant she was neglecting other duties, like school and cleaning and caring about others. But those were just trivialities in comparison to what really mattered.

(Man, doesn't Star sound like a real gem?).

Her fingers were lightning fast as she wrote dialogue for Lemmy and Ludwig. Lemmy and Ludwig's friendship was one that she loved writing. Sure, some people might view it as sappy, but she personally found it sweet. And, as much as Star was willing to admit that she was writing for others, she was also writing for herself. Because nothing shows that someone is a healthy, functioning person like writing twenty stories surrounding video game characters.

(Seriously, why is she the protagonist again?)

"Almost done, almost done," she muttered to herself. She could practically see the finish line approaching. It was getting closer and closer and closer still. She just had to type one...last...period. Aww. Perfect.

"Finally," the young adult breathed out. She went to Fanfiction, the primary place where she published her content. "Time to submit a new chapter."

Ding!

Star smiled when she got the email notification that signaled she had just published the chapter. She loved the sound that chimed whenever she got notifications on her phone. It was short and sweet, a very loud and gorgeous chime. It was an addicting sound.

"Alright!" Star said triumphantly. "As I wait for views, I am going to go start writing something else."

With that, Star went back into Google Docs. She scrolled through documents upon documents of fanfiction. This was a testament to how far StarlitDuck had come. It was impressive, really. She had over 48 documents, all varying in length and detail. Some of her more recent works were at the top of the page, and her older works were down at the bottom. She smiled.

You know what? She told herself. I think I am going to revisit some of my older works.

With that, Star scrolled down. She passed by Flickering Flames, Mind Sweep, 10 Years of Silence. She smiled when she saw them. They were like dear old friends that were always there for her. The only difference was that revisiting her old friends didn't make her cringe at how clunky her writing style used to be.

When she got to the bottom, she sighed nostalgically. Celia's Dad. The first story that she had ever published on the site. It was almost two years old. Kind of scary how much the time has flown. Star was about to scroll back up when she saw something that caught her eye. It was a document she had never seen before, one labeled "The Transporter."

"What the fudge pops?" She clicked on the document and started to read.

The transporter is a blue and purple gem. It allows people to travel from the Koopalings' world to the real world. There is one version of it in the real world, and one in the Mushroom World. Keep out of reach of children, teens, the elderly...really, keep out of reach of everyone; no one should touch this.

Star scrolled further down. She saw a picture of a blue gem with purple accents down at the bottom. Her nose wrinkled up, for she had never seen this before. She would definitely remember if she had imported an image like this into a Google Doc.

Star touched the screen, preparing to scroll back down. Before Star knew what was happening, the image of the gem began to glow. A blue light shot out of the phone and overtook her. She screamed for a while, her eyes closed. When she finally did open her eyes, she noticed she was not in her room anymore. She was in a barren, obsidian colored wasteland.

"What the heck is going on?"

She heard footsteps behind her. She turned and gawked in surprise. There were two Koopa troopa walking down a path. Star blinked at her eyes. She slapped herself across the face, making sure that she was awake.

"Oh crap," she muttered as it occurred to her what was happening. "Looks like I'm in the Mushroom World."
