A Light in the Darkness: Hotaru's quirk didn't always come easy to her, controlling energy can be overwhelming, but she is determined to be the best hero she can possibly be despite all the circumstances she has against her. OCx?

Author's Note: Wow, here is another chapter. It's time for the two-on-two battle training. I am going to be mixing some things up as far as groups go for this one (not the BIG one though, so don't worry about me inserting my character in there). Anyway, here we go. Please review and let me know what you think of the story so far. And as we get to know Hotaru's character and quirk more, what do you think her hero name should be? I am open to suggestions as I have no idea at this point. (How about Baukgou's official one, btw? I love it!) This chapter was harder to write than I thought it would be and somehow I don't feel like I described her hero costume well enough.

Chapter Six: Hero Costumes and Battle Training

"Hotaru-chan, did you finish the English homework for Present Mic?" Hotaru looked up from the math homework she was reviewing at the sound of the bubbly voice of Mina, a girl with pink skin and hair that could release acid from her hands and feet, who was smiling at her. "I can't figure out the answer to question four!" She whined, "All this grammar stuff is so confusing," She threw up her hands in frustration, a pout on her lips.

"Yeah," Hotaru pulled out her English notebook from her backpack, flipping till she found the answers to last night's homework. "Here you go, just don't let Iida see you with mine."

"Thanks Hotaru-chan!" Mina bent over to quickly copy and check her answers. Hotaru wasn't the smartest kid in their class, sitting at spot number eight based off of the entrance test, but English and Japanese History were her best classes and she felt that she could at least help with those subjects when asked.

"Hotaru-chan," The yellow-eye girl looked up again at the sound of her name to see Midoriya coming towards her, notebook in hand. "Did you want to go over the math homework real quick? You sounded worried in your text," Hotaru ignored the eye piercing look she could feel coming from Mina. Just a few days of knowing the girl and she could already tell what the girl was watching for. She was always itching for a drop of "spicy gossip." The thought seriously just grossed her out, Izuku was like her brother. His mother used to give them baths together when she babysat the Tanimori children, though she had a feeling if she brought that up to Izuku, he would die of embarrassment.

"I think I have it Izuku," Hotaru smiled at her friend, she had been unable to walk to school with him as she had woken early to do her morning run and had come straight to school afterward to use the locker room. She had actually been one of the first students in the classroom this morning.

"Everyone! Sit in your seats, class is about to begin!" Hotaru waved Mina away, letting her keep her notebook until the next class break so she could finish copying, as their fastest classmate began urging his peers to get seated for the classes that were about to begin. Most complied as they didn't want to anger him as he could be quite aggravating to deal with at times with his pushy type A personality. And he was just in time, as not a moment too soon, the first bell rang and their math teacher, Ectoplasm, walked in.

Ectoplasm was another pro-hero who taught at U.A.. His appearance was unusual, and could come off a little scary. He was tall and slender, wearing a tan trench coat with the collar popped up. He also wore a strange black and yellow face mask that only allowed for his completely blank eyes to be seen and a large grin of white teeth. "Alright, homework out on your desks! I will be coming to check it as you begin taking the notes for today," He called, his replacement prosthetics peg legs, which he had lost in the line of duty years before, echoed as he set up for the day and the students began focusing on their notebooks.

Time and classes passed, first mathematics with Ectoplasm, then Japanese History with Cementoss, Modern Hero Art History with Midnight, and then English with Present Mic before lunch where Hotaru had intended to sit with Midoriya but was dragged off to join Mina, Hakagure and the other girls of her class. After that they had science with Snipe before it was finally time for their first class in heroics, something they had all been anxiously waiting for since the start of school on Monday (it was now Wednesday).

Hotaru was watching the door anxiously as her classmates whispered to each other around her. Their teacher was a few minutes late and they were all wondering who was going to be teaching them as there were rumors of a new pro-hero teacher this year. Everyone was throwing around names that just got more outlandish than the next. However, Hotaru was friend's with Midoriya, and the boy had let slip that the person who had sent his acceptance video was-

"I AM HERE COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO!"

"It's All Might!" Kaminari called from his seat towards the front of the classroom. The whole class was shell shocked. Hotaru was grinning and practically jumping in her seat. This was THE Symbol of Peace, the greatest hero of all time, and he was going to be their teacher! She couldn't wait to start learning all his tricks. He had a power based quirk, and granted hers had major drawbacks compared to his, she just knew that she would be able to learn better control from him.

"Is he wearing his Silver Age costume?" Tsuyu wondered, just as stark struck as the rest of the class to see the famously huge pro-hero before her in his red, gold and blue costume.

"Welcome to the most important class at U.A. High" All Might began, standing proud with his hands on his hips. "Here you will learn the basics about being a pro-hero!" He pulled out a card from behind his back, striking a pose, "Let's get right to it: Today's lesson is Battle training!"

Hotaru straightened up even further in her seat. They really hold nothing back, huh? What about those who may have never done any fighting? Unless...that is the point.

"However," All Might continued, the iconic grin on his face getting even wider, "one of the keys to being a hero is looking good!" He pressed a button on the wall and inserts started coming out with cases that had their student numbers on them. "Your hero costumes!" Hotaru didn't think she nor her classmates could have gotten any more excited, but it took everything in her and a few others not to rush at once to grab their cases. This was something all kids who wanted to be heroes thought about since before they even got their quirk, what their hero costume would be. "These were designed for you based off of your requests and the quirk registration forms you submitted during the summer." He gave them all a thumbs up, "Get suited up and meet me at training ground beta!" And he flew through the door as quickly as he had come, a blue cape flying through the wind he created.

Everyone scrambled out of their seats to grab their case. "This is so awesome!" Mina and Kaminari cried, both clutching their chests and waving them like prizes above their heads. Hotaru reached around the dual colored haired boy to grab her case marked with the number 10, offering him a smile only to receive a blank, uninterested face in return.

"Move it!" Bakugou barked from behind her, causing her to frown as he pushed her out of the way and into the silent boy. Hotaru shot the hot head a glare as she moved.

"Sorry," She smiled up at the slightly taller boy again, who just shrugged in reply. "Bakagou has no manners or brain cells. Todoroki, right? I didn't mean to invade your personal space."

"...it's fine" He simply replied, offering her a nod and then turning to leave to get changed. Hotaru stood there for a moment feeling slightly confused by the whole situation.

"Hotaru-chan, come on! We don't want to keep All Might waiting!" Hotaru shook herself out of her daze and followed after Mina and Uraraka, just as eager to get into her new costume as the rest of the class was. She hoped they had gotten everything she drew and wanted correctly.

Several minutes later and the girls were all changed and making their way to the training ground. "Your costume is so cool Hotaru-chan! Are those leg braces?" Hagakure gushed, the girl's own costume was just a pair of white gloves and boots.

Meanwhile, Hotaru was covered almost head to toe in a sleek black fabric with yellow accents. Her hero costume consisted of a black-skin tight bodysuit made of spandex and another stronger metal-woven material that stopped it from tearing so easily. She originally was going to go for a completely black hero outfit, but her sister had suggested she add some color to the costume to make it more welcoming and recognizable. So she added in a pale yellow band that wrapped low around her waist to accentuate it, a yellow, diamond shaped patch under her neck, and the sleeves of her hero costume started off as a solid pale yellow before turning into a dark sheer material to her tapper at her wrists. She had also added leg bracers that were the same pale yellow that were pulled on over the tight pants of the body suit that stopped at her knee with badding. They were both to protect her legs and to offer her the ability to do more damage when she used her power. The bads were made out of a lightweight metal that was solid and hard to break. She had also requested simple, steel toed boots to tie everything together and offer more protection and strength in her feet. Her power allowed for a boost in her strength but that didn't mean her bones and skin were invulnerable and she wanted to make sure she was protected.

"Yes, my quirk requires close combat so I wanted some protection," Hotaru told the girl, "What about your costume? Are...are you naked Hagakure-san?" The invisible girl waved her hands quickly.

"Nope! The department in charge of my costume did something amazing with my hair that made it so it could be invisible. It was so cool!"

"Wow! Looking good ladies!" Kirishima, a boy with wild red hair and sharp teeth grinned and complimented the girls of his class as they joined the rest of their classmates in the hallway that would lead them outside towards the training area. His costume was a pair of bulky shoulder bands that almost looked like gears with a single strip of black fabric that stretched across his muscular chest to baggy black pants with a red belt and aesthetically torn red fabric overlay tucked into dark red boots. He also wore a strange, spiky black mask that covered the edges of his face but left the rest free. He grinned at Hatoru who had come to walk beside him, "Very manly Tanimori!"

Hotaru offered him a smile in return, "Thanks."

"Kirishima!" Mina butted in, a pout on her face, "That's not something you should say to a girl!"

"Wha-" Kirishima's face transformed into one of clear confusion. However Hotaru just waved her hands, truly not minding.

"It's fine Mina, I don't mind," Hotaru said, looking over the pink girl's costume which consisted of a white mask on her face that only covered her eyes with a purple and turquoise pattern bodysuit that appeared to be sleeveless with a cropped fur lined coat made of a tan material that matched her boots. "I wasn't aiming for my costume to be girly or anything like that. But wow! Your costume looks amazing!"

The pink girl pouted at Kirishima, who offered a sheepish smile, before grinning up at her new, white haired friend. "Thanks!"

"Let's go!" Iida called from inside a completely metal hero costume that made him look like some sort of robot, "We shouldn't keep All Might waiting!"

"Let's go!" Mina cheered, moving forward with everyone. Hotaru walked through the doors with her classmates, looking around for her childhood friend as she stood between Uraraka and Mina. She was curious to see what his costume ended up looking like as he had refused to let her see his drawings, an embarrassed look always coming across his freckled face when she pestered him.

"Wow Hotaru-chan! Your costume is amazing!" Hotaru spun around as she heard her friend speak behind her. She grinned when she caught sight of the green haired boy's rather...bright costume. He was wearing a light green jumpsuit that held a white symmetrical pattern on his abdomen and arms, his usual red sneakers that matched well with his red utility belt, black knee and elbow bracers, white gloves, and he had added a full face mask that only showed his eyes with a strangely familiar white pattern that looked like a grin and large protrusions that looked kind of like bunny ears.

"You too Izuku-kun!" She reached out and poked one of the protrusions, "Are you aiming to look like a rabbit, like Mirko, or are you trying to look like a certain number one hero?" Her smile widened as her friend began to putter around, even though he had a mask covering his face she knew that he was blushing heavily.

"H-Hotaru-chan!"

"They say the costume makes the hero, ladies and gentlemen," All Might called from in front of the class, stance wide and large grin set, "And from what I can see, that statement is fact! Are you ready to get started my wards?" The whole class's attention was immediately taken, every student lining up quickly to see what they were doing. They knew from earlier that it was battle training, but what did that mean exactly? Were they going to fight robots again? After all, it looked like they had gathered in a place that was very similar to where the entrance test had taken place - an empty cityscape. "It's time for Combat Training! We are going to be moving very fast!" He held his hand out, "Most of the fights you see between heroes and villains in the news happen outside in open areas, but there are occasions where you will have to take the fight inside a building; Sometimes the most heinous villains hide in the shadows!"

He moved aside and revealed two pedestals that each contained a blacked out container, one with the word hero on it and the other villain. "For this training, I will be splitting you up into hero and villain teams and then fight two-on-two indoor battles!"

"Isn't this a little too advanced?" Tsuyu wondered and Hotaru nodded a little in concern.

"Yeah, what about those students who have no combat or experience fighting at all?" She was worried about Izuku. He always ran away from Bakugou's bullying or took a beating, when she wasn't around to handle things, as he was never one to instigate a fight himself. Sure, it appeared he had bulked up from whatever training he had been doing but did that involve fighting or learning a fighting style?

"The best training is what you can learn from the battle field!" Hotaru, while having great admiration for the Symbol of Peace, wasn't too sure about his last statement. Apparently this was a sentiment shared by a few of her classmates as they started asking questions about the exercise, ranging from whether he was going to threaten to expel them like Aizawa-sensei had or how far they were allowed to go when battling the opposite teams. This seemed to overwhelm the bright hero as he pulled out a folded piece of paper and began to read from it like a script.

"...are you sure he is supposed to be our teacher Izuku-kun?" Hotaru quietly questioned the boy only for him to quickly quiet her, teetering in his spot from secondhand embarrassment.

"Listen up!" All Might began to explain the training exercise to the students, "The situation is this: The villains will be hiding a nuclear weapon somewhere inside the building behind us," He indicated a five story office building behind him, "And the hero team will try and foil their plans by breaking into their hideout to do either two things; safely capture the nuclear weapon or incapiated the villains." His grin widened, "The bad guys will win if they successfully protect their payload until the timer runs out or capture both of the heroes!" He put the paper away and held out a bright yellow box, "Now, time is limited, so we'll select teams at complete random, I need 10 students to pick their partners!" And he quickly called 10 names out to come forward.

Hotaru moved forward, smirking at a grumpy Bakugou who wouldn't get to pick his own partner, as she was number 10 from the class picked. She waited her turn and plunged her hand in the box to select the last name - Koji Koda, the very quiet and shy boy who sat in front of her in class. Hotaru walked to stand next to her partner, offering the taller boy a smile. "Look's like we're team F, Koda-san." The boy blushed heavily, unable to form an audible response and simply nodded.

"Alright! Let's get the ball rolling!" All Might called, plunging both of his hands into the two other boxes, villain and hero, to draw different teams at random. "The first two teams that will be facing each other are Team A as heroes and Team D as villains!" Hotaru froze, eyes narrowing in on her best friend who had also frozen at the announcement as he was in Team A with Uraraka, something that was probably turning him into a gooey mess inside as she was a "girl," while Team D consisted of Iida and Bakugou, the boy who hated him and regularly voiced it.

All Might can't be serious! Hotaru thought, moving forward to place a hand on her friends shoulders, turning to glare at their blonde explosive classmate, his energy had spiked and she could feel it expanding near his hands, ready to be released. He had to have heard how Bakugou reacted to Izuku during Aizawa's test! "Izuku-kun, are you okay?" She asked her friend, torn between continuing to glare at blonde or helping to snap her friend out of his head. However, the boy never got to answer as All Might gave the class further instructions.

"Everyone else besides those two teams are to make their way to the observation station to watch their match!" He pointed at another building, this one was one story and was closer to the entrance into the area. "I'll get both teams set up and join you shortly to watch!"

"Yes sir!" The class began moving, excited chatter breaking out amongst the students who weren't fighting first. Hotaru stayed in her place, waving Koda on, worried gaze moving back to her friend.

"Izuku-"

"I'm fine, Hotaru-chan!" Midoriya said, turning to face his friend and smile at her even though she would be unable to see it. "You should join the rest of the class! Uraraka and I need to plan. We'll be fine and defeat Kacchan! Don't worry!" Hotaru stayed in place, not believing her friend for one second.

"Young Tanimori, you should join your classmates!" All Might spoke. The white-haired teenager stayed in her spot for a few moments longer, eyes locked with Izuku, before nodding, letting go of her friend's shoulder and walking to join her classmates. She gave Bakugou one last scathing glare, which was returned, as she walked past where he stood next to his partner, Iida.

"Watch your damn temper, your hot head," She threw over her shoulder at the boy before entering the building to be immediately surrounded by her classmates' excited chatter.

"Wow! This is so hightech!" Kaminari, the blond headed boy with a black lightning shaped streak in his hair, called from where he stood in front of a wall full of monitors.

"They must be for all the camera's inside the training building," Momo spoke, hand on her chin, "It makes sense, the teachers need to be able to keep an eye on the exercises at all times and offer other students a means to observe and learn from their classmates at the same time."

"Are you alright Hotaru-chan?" Mina questioned the girl as she came to stand beside her, face pensive. "You took longer than us to get here."

"I'm just worried about Izuku-kun," Hotaru sighed, folding her arms across her chest, "Bakugou doesn't know the meaning of holding back. They always bring the worst out in each other." Mina frowned lightly, watching the girl worry her bottom lip, not knowing what to say as she didn't know either boy that well. However, everyone in the class could probably agree that Bakugou had anger issues, especially when it came to the green haired boy.

"I wouldn't worry too much," Tsuyu spoke, having overheard the girls, "Sure, Bakugou might get angry enough to go overboard, but All Might is here to stop it if anything happens." Hotaru nodded, knowing that the shorter, frog-like girl was trying to make her feel better. And it did honestly ease some of the tension, but she could feel the energy spiking from the building still, Bakugou's pulsing erratically and Izuku's strange one that she still couldn't explain, even if it was now being echoed by something else in the area, which made no sense, and it was still causing her to feel slightly anxious.

"Alright!" All Might said as he stepped into the building, moving to stand in front of the monitoring system. "Bakugou and Iida have been given five minutes to prepare and hide their bounty. In just a few moments I will ring the bell to let the hero team begin their operation," He pointed to the screens, "Pay close attention to what both teams are doing; what their strategies are, how well they work together, and what they accomplish. This may help you when it comes time for your battles! Remember, the best experience is found on the battlefield!" He turned to face the screens and pressed a button on the monitoring dashboard. "Team A and D, your time starts now!"

Hotaru quickly looked through the available camera angles, searching for where Midoriya and Uraraka were and also looking for where their opponents were. She didn't expect Bakugou to wait around for Midoriya to find them, he had been given free reign to basically kick the boy's ass, he wouldn't waste any of that precious time. She quickly found both boys and teams on the screen. It seemed Iida had been left in charge of the real goal of the villain teams exercise and was quickly moving around the room with his quirk to remove any obstacles. His partner, Bakugou, was on another screen, an angry scowl on his face and he marched down a hallway, clearly looking for the hero team, or rather Izuku. Yellow eyes watched her friend worriedly through the monitor, hands clenching on her forearms, as they entered through a second story window thanks to Uraraka's quirk. That's it, she thought, stay quiet and sneaky. Don't let him engage you so quickly! She wished she had been paired up with the boy now, at least she would have been able to take on the blonde head on. It would have been messy, as he literally has the power to explode anything at the drop of his fingertips sweat, but she would enjoy the chance to finally use her quirk against him. Or better yet, why couldn't he have just been picked to face any other team?

Hotaru and the rest of the class watched as the two different teams, minus Iida, walked around the building for several minutes, Midoriya and Uraraka always making sure to check around corners incase the 'villains" appeared, while Bakugou just stalked without a care in the world. His confidence was that high. "He must have heard them, look!" Kirishima pointed out, pointing to the screen as Bakugou came flying around a corner just in front of Midoriya and Uraraka, the blond diving forward and releasing an explosion that managed to destroy one of the camera angles so the class could only see clouds of smoke. "That Bakugou, he really doesn't hold back, but what kind of man pulls a sneak attack?"

"Look, they managed to dodge, though it seems like Midoriya's costume took the brunt of the damage," Jiro was the one to offer the commentary next, her fingers twirling one of her ear jacks.

"Sneak attacks are a viable strategy young Kirishima, he's playing the part of a villain," All Might pointed out as Midoriya and Uraraka began to run from Bakugou, dodging another explosion, "You don't think that all villains will be ready to fight fairly, do you?"

"Look, there they go!" Kaminari called, everyone watching as Bakugou charged forward and to everyones' surprise, Deku stopped, turning to face him and managing to catch the explosive teen off guard by counterattacking and flipping him over onto his back, exchanging what looked like to be some powerful words before taking off again with Uraraka.

That looked just like...he is not going to be happy, Hotaru thought, feeling proud of her friend for finally doing something against Bakugou, but also regonzing the move at the same time...and it wasn't his or even her's, he had copied Bakuhou's fighting style.

"I'm not hearing anything," Kirishima spoke, a slight disappointed frown on his face. "All Might, can't we get sound? I wanna know what they are saying to each other!"

"Me too," Hotaru wished, watching as Izuku and Uraraka split from each other, the boy turning back and going in the direction he had just ran from, back towards Bakugou. "They got away, why is he going back?"

"Relax Hotaru-chan!" Mina encouraged, "It looks like Midoriya-kun was able to handle himself just fine against Bakugo."

"Yeah, it looks like." She didn't want to mention how she could feel all the energy spiking from the building, even several hundred feet away, and how Bakugou's just seemed to be getting more chaotic and almost angry, if she had to describe an emotion to it, while Midoriya had his energy, however off, but still wasn't using it because he clearly couldn't control it yet.

"Though it does feel like the heroes are at a huge disadvantage here," Mina pouted.

"That's life," All Might spoke, taking note of how Hotaru was acting and how she hadn't let her eyes stray from the fight once, "Heroes are often at a disadvantage and it is your job to learn to outwit villains because of this."

"There they go," Aoyama pointed out as Bakugou and Midoriya began to fight. The freckled boy never used his power as he dodged and weaved Bakugou's explosive moves. Hotaru briefly noted the Uraraka had found Iida, who discovered her, but quickly focused back on the fight happening between Izuku and Bakugou just in time to to see Bakugou take a firm stance, lifting on of his grenade-looking gauntlets and grasping something on it with his other hand that looked like an actual grenade pin.

"Young Bakugou!" All Might called into the mic, and Hotaru panicked, pushing her way past Kirishima to stand right in front, next to the pro-hero, "Don't do it!" However, it was too late and the blond pulled the pin which released an incredible explosion, at least triple the strength the blond should have able to do.

"Izuku-kun!" Hotaru called despite knowing that the boy wouldn't be able to hear her, wanting nothing more than to run and make sure that he was okay. "All Might, is he alright?" All the cameras had been knocked out that were able to see the fight and the class had to wait for the dust and debris to settle. The whole floor where Bakugou had aimed his explosion was trashed, all the windows broken, with a large hole torn from the wall.

"Come in Young Midoriya!" All Might called, wondering if he had maybe let the battle go too far. The dust settled and the class was able to watch from another camera, one of the other end of the hall that managed to survive the blast, that Midoriya was conscious, his costume even more torn, but appeared to be relatively unharmed as Bakugou stalked toward the boy. Midoriya appeared to communicate with Uraraka very briefly as Bakugou was scolded by All Might.

"If you use that power again Young Bakugou, I will be forced to stop the match" All Might spoke, "Destroying the building and risking not only the heroes health but your own is a bad move, no matter what side of the fight you are on."

This seemed to anger the boy and he began blasting himself to confront Midoriya in a close quarters fight. However, Midoriya took a stance, a determined look on his face as his right arm began to glow.

"All Might! Stop him!" Hotaru called, feeling the massive energy spike from her friend, he was going to hurt himself again as it came too fast and sudden with nowhere else to go but out, no matter the cost. However, it was too late, even if he did try to tell them to stop too late.

Midoriya aimed his hit in a fake uppercut and let his power go, destroying the entire building above him, missing Bakugou, which allowed Uraraka the chance to grab a concrete pillar, made weightless thanks to her quirk, and smash Iida out of the way to grab the fake weapon. The whole class was in shock as the camera, surprisingly still working, revealed Midoriya to be standing, one armed burnt from blocking Bakugou's hit and the other broken, an angry red from using his power.

"You should have stopped it," Hotaru spat, offering her teacher a glare, uncaring at this point that it was rude or that he was the number one pro-hero, before turning and running from the room to go help her friend who collapsed as soon as she exited. She couldn't believe that man was still smiling!

"Izuku!" She called, dodging debris and trying to find some stairs before just giving up entirely, focusing energy into her legs, probably a little too rashly and quickly, to offer her a power boost to jump through the hole created by Bakugou's first explosion. "Move out of the way asshole!" She pushed the shocked Bakugou aside, running to kneel beside her unconscious and injured friend, glare on her face. "Aren't you supposed to be training to be a hero? Hate or not, are you just going to leave him here? He's like this because he's always trying to catch up to you to prove something. Jerk!"

"Young Tanimori, the medic bots are on the way," All Might had finally arrived on scene, looking down at his two students before looking towards Bakugou who was still frozen, unable to believe that the boy who he despisingly called "Deku" had just done what he did. "You should head back to the rest of the class and prepare for the next fight." The number one hero would never admit it, but when the young girl aimed a glare at him over her shoulder, he froze just a little. Her eyes were filled with just the hint of tears, emotions running high, the yellow flashing with anger and disappointment. He was thankful for the medic bots that rolled in to pick up Midoriya just then.

Hotaru followed them out, hand holding onto Midoriya's unbroken one lightly, still conscious of the burns. How the hell can a teacher let this happen? These were supposed to be mock battles, she thought, stopping at the school entrance door, standing there while her thoughts ran wild for a few moments. Granted, we're supposed to learn how to fight and engage villains, but we shouldn't be tasked with almost having to kill each other to learn those things!

She turned just as Koda was about to tap timidly on her shoulder, having felt the boy moving toward her based on his energy, even if it was something she usually just ignored. He smiled sheepishly at her, pointing towards their class. All Might had just drawn their team for the next fight, they would be the villains against team B, Todoroki and Shoji, as heroes. The two quiet males were exact opposites in appearance as Shoji had three webbed arms, silver hair, and was tall and muscular while Todoriki was pale with red and white hair split evenly down the middle, two-toned eyes, and while not short, was definitely shorter and less muscular this his partner. He also currently had half his body, including his face, covered in ice.

At least I have some hint of his power, Hotaru thought, and as far as I'm aware, Shoji's arms are his power as well. What does Koda do again? She tried to shake away the anger she felt from the last match as she tried to begin to thank about a plan for her team. Koda watched quietly from beside her as they walked towards where their teacher and the other team was waiting, she could see the rest of her classmates, a few obvious ones, peeking out the door at her in worry.

"Alright! Next battle, villain team, you'll have 5 minutes to prepare before I send the hero team in. Here is a map of the new building as well as headsets. You will only be able to hear your partner and me, so make sure to utilize them well." All Might pointed to a different building than the first fight, this one only containing what looked like to be four floors, "Do to the previous fight, we had to change buildings but all the other rules still stand. Villain team, go!"

Koda and Hotaru quickly moved into the building, slamming the door behind them and spotted the "weapon" waiting for them. "Koda, first things first, what are your powers? You didn't really display them during Aizawa-sensei's test." The boy froze, blush on his face at having to answer her or talk to a girl in general. She tried to offer him a smile in encouragement.

"I...I control animals," He responded softly.

"Any kind?" Hotaru asked, trying to think about how this power could be used in the middle of a city, a deserted one at that, where very little animals existed. The only ones she could think would be around would be - "Like rats?" The boy nodded, "Do you have a limit?" The boy shook his head quickly. As long as he could talk to them, he could control them. Hotaru looked at the map of the building, wondering where they could hide their weapon and spotted an access stairway to the roof. That could work...neither of them can fly I believe. "Koda-san, do you trust me?" The boy nodded, actually thankful not to be the one in charge, he just would not have been able to handle the pressure. "Then grab that and follow me!" The boy grabbed the cardboard cutout of a giant nuclear weapon and followed behind the white haired girl as she began to jog up the stairs. As they moved she began to explain what she had thought off.

"Koda-san, once we get to the roof, your job will be to protect our weapon. Talk to any rats that might be around. I also thought about the roof incase you can call on birds," She pushed the third floor door closed behind them, "We know that Todoroki-san does something with ice, and I don't want any animals getting hurt by that accidently so I will engage him while you protect and deal with Shoji if he tries to go around. Does that sound good?" Koda couldn't believe she had thought of a plan so quickly and was thankful she had the presence of mind to think about how the animals he called might be hurt. Not many thought of that.

"Okay," He agreed as they opened the access to the roof.

"Good. Now, as soon as the time is called, I will leave," Hotaru gave him a grin when he startled, not expecting them to actually split up. "Don't worry, I just don't want to let them get so close that they might actually capture our bomb like Iida did with Uraraka. I'll just be a floor down." Koda nodded just as they both heard;

"Team B and F, your time starts now!" in their ear pieces and over a loudspeaker.

"Good luck Koda," Hotaru nodded, however she froze as she felt a sudden surge of energy making its way through the ground towards them. She didn't know what it was, though she had a feeling and was surprised he had that kind of control, and called out to Koda, eyes wide, "Koda, grab the bomb and jump as high as you can! Now!" The boy looked surprised but did as she said, trusting his partner.

Hotaru willed energy into her legs, clenching her teeth as she felt the strain she had caused in her panic to get to Izuku minutes earlier, she had forced the energy too fast down her legs and now it struggled to go, the pathways basically injured from the forceful strain. However, she ignored it, forcing the energy anyway and she jumped high into the air just in time for her and Koda to miss a wave full of ice that engulfed the entire building. They hung in the air for just seconds before falling back down onto the slippery ice. Koda tripped, blush on his face as he struggled to stand straight on the ice and not fall again. Hotaru's boots managed to grip the ice just fine but she frowned anyway as the clear disadvantage their team now had. "So much for that plan," She said, eyeing the door that had completely frozen as well. "Koda, can you still call on your animals? We should go ahead and prepare for an attack." The boy nodded, beginning to talk quietly into the air, calling any animal around, whether they be rat or bird, to their aid. Hotaru moved to stand in the middle of the roof, slowly breathing as she began to draw in more energy from around her, from the sun and nature, and channel it down into her limbs, once more ignoring the strain in her legs. She would worry about that later.

She made sure not to touch any of her classmates' energy, frowning when she briefly brushed against her teachers, as she didn't want to accidentally take their energy from them. She also had to concentrate on feeling for the energy of the two classmates they were battling against without taking any of it. She didn't know either boy well, only having been in class with them for a few days, so what she could feel was just basic fluctuations, unlike Izuku or her sister's, or even Bakugou's, who she could pinpoint from miles away and even guess as to what they were feeling. She was surprised to note one boy had stayed outside and another was slowly making their way up the stairs, obviously in no hurry. "That jerk," She spat, "That must be Todoroki!" She looked over her shoulder at Koda who now had what appeared to be about 30 rats covering the weapon while a few birds circled overhead. "Todoroki is on his way up Koda-san. However, it seems like he thinks he caught us and doesn't appear to be in any hurry."

Koda frowned lightly, noting that his classmate had purple lines, her quirk he believed as they glowed and weren't there before, slowly making their way up her neck as a frown came to her lips before she faced forward again. "I'm gonna be moving very quickly Koda-san," She called, "Make sure you focus on keeping the weapon from them, okay?"

"O...okay Tanimori-san," He nodded and watched as the white haired teen crouched into a familiar dash position, her hands beginning to glow a light purple as well as the energy lines spread. "Protect the missile" he reminded his animal friends, moving to stand in front of it as the animals, including the birds, all made sure to cover their weapon.

Hotaru gritted her teeth, letting some of the anger she felt from watching the first match and at her teacher fuel her emotions now as well as the anger she felt from being looked down upon by the boy who sat next to her and who was currently opening the door to the roof. She let the energy in her legs expel very quickly, ice cracking under where she used to be and she used the energy to blast her forward very quickly. The dual-haired boy blinked in shock and just barely managed to dodge the left hook she sent at his face. However he couldn't hide the gasp that left his mouth as Hotaru quickly crouched, throwing a leg out and knocking him on his behind.

She's so fast! How did she manage to avoid my ice? However he couldn't focus on his thoughts as he was quickly tackled by the white haired girl who was glaring at him, white caputra tape in her hand as she quickly wrapped it around him before he could move and incapacitated him in a manner of moments. How?

"Koda-san, do you think you can watch him? He's captured, just have your animals watch him!" Hotaru waited for a nod from the equally shocked animal controller. "Oh, and by the way Todoroki, don't get too cocky next time," She smirked down at him as she stood up, feet on either side of his hips, "Actually make sure you capture someone before just assuming and walking right in like an idiot." She moved towards the edge of the roof, jumping up to the gate that surrounded it, still focusing her energy into her legs for what she was about to do...she had never attempted a jump and landing so far down. "I'll be right back Koda-san! Stay pretty for me Todoroki!" She crouched and jumped off the roof, capturing tap in hand and before he could even blink, Shoji was captured in the surprise blitz attack much like his partner was.

"The V-Villain team wins!" All Might announced over the income, voice also coming across in their ears. He and most of his class stared in shock at Hotaru through the screen. However, a certain blond glared angrily at the screens at the white haired girl who was helping to release Shoji from where she had dropped and captured him, a smile on her face.

That damn fairy! When the hell did she get so strong?! How is it that her and that shitty Deku managed to beat me?!

Note: Wow! That chapter just went on and on and on. Phew. Now, I feel like I need to explain a few things before I get reviews that mention them. One, it seems like my OC absolutely hates Bakugou, and well, this is true. And this might always be true or it might change, who knows? Please keep in mind that Bakugou was an absolute asshole to Midoriya growing up and while I love his character development, and his character is actually one of my favorites in the anime/manga, he hasn't had any yet at this point. So, who knows, maybe they'll get along one day, or not, it's up in the air as I really haven't decided yet. I enjoy having her call him out so much. Two, she beat Todoroki, yep, that did happen. Now, before you cry, "your character is too strong, she's overpowered, don't turn her into a mary-sue," please keep in mind that he basically thought that he had this fight in the bag. He believed he froze them both in place, basically told Shoji to stand still and look pretty while he went in and handled business, and then proceeded to just waltz right on in as if he owned the place. Hotaru was not just going to give in to him. And, she also just managed to out maneuver him because of her speed. He'll hopefully learn from her just kicking his butt so easily (I mean, he managed to think of a way to fight Iida so quickly in the sports festival, hehehehe, see what I did there? Eh? Eh?). She could literally feel him as he walked through the building. Once again, Todoroki is such an awkward, stuck up boy in the beginning, his character development hasn't happened yet. They might be friends later, they might not, who knows? And third, it seems like Hotaru also doesn't like All Might. And well, that is just not true. From the beginning of the chapter you could tell she was just as excited when he appeared. And, she did grow up with Midoriya and Bakugou, two of his biggest fan boys, and ended up hating All Might, it just doesn't happen. However, the way he handled the battle and the class has definitely made her think twice about just blindly accepting that he knows best. This is something she takes from her childhood and you'll eventually learn more about that.

Please review and let me know what you think of the story so far! And seriously, hero name suggestions for Hotaru would be AMAZING.
