Chapter 16 OC Black Magic

Star continued to fall. The blackness was as thick as pudding now. The stars were closing in around her. They were like vultures, ready to feed on her corpse. Star wasn't even thinking coherent thoughts at this point. So, by all means, she should not remember what happened next.

As she fell, she saw a dot in the distance. This dot had arms and legs, and was bouncing across the chunks of floating Earth. As the dot got closer, Star was able to make out some of its more intricate details. The dot looked like a koopa, a specific koopa. It began to occur to her that this Koopa was the Koopa whom she had turned into a llama. He was bouncing across the landscape with a worried expression on his face. When he arrived at a piece of ground that Star was about to fall past, he reached out and grabbed her by the hand. In her woozy daze, Star looked up into his face.

"You...saved me?" she asked. The koopa grunted as he lifted her up. "After everything I've done to you? Why didn't you let me fall?"

"I'm...not...that type...of koopa..." he said. He breathed a sigh of relief once she was all the way up. "Now, which way is that gem you were flying toward?"

Star glanced around. Because of her aching head, she wasn't able to see anything. Her vision was going as blurry as a windshield in a rainstorm.

"There!" the koopa said. He pointed upward toward a blue and purple blur. He turned toward Star. "I'm gonna try to throw you toward it."

Star felt a warm feeling overtake her. This koopa was helping her. He had absolutely no reason too; heck, he had every reason in the world not to help her! And yet, here he was.

"Thank you...um, I'm sorry, I don't think I've ever gotten your name," she said. The koopa snickered.

"Wow! You're only realizing that now?" He laughed. "My name is Todd."

Star smiled.

"Well, Todd, when I get back, I'll make sure to write a story around you."

Todd smiled.

"You don't have to do that."

"Yeah, you're right," Star said. Maybe it would be best to leave Todd as a one-off character. "Anyway, go ahead, Buddy! Throw me with all the strength at your disposal!"

A happy, if slightly wicked, expression appeared on Todd's face.

"It would be my pleasure." With that, he took Star by the hands and started to twirl around like he was doing the hammer throw. Faster and faster and faster she spun until finally, Todd let go. Star was sent flying through the air, straight toward the floating transporter. Star could feel her heart pumping as she got closer and closer. She reached out her to touch the Transporter. When she did, the gem started to glow like the sun at midday. The light grew stronger and brighter. It started to surround StarlitDuck. The scenery around her was washed away by the glorious glow. Star could even feel her head start to clear up.

Eventually, the light died, and Star found herself standing back in her bedroom, wearing her pajamas. A jubilant happiness filled her up as she looked around her messy abode.

"Oh, thank goodness!" She leaned down and kissed the blue floor. She placed her hands on her bed and hugged it as if it was an actual person. She even went so far as to hug her portable air conditioner, kissing it like it was some sort of cursed prince. "I am so happy to be home!" She coughed and sputtered, trying to help the dust she had swallowed from the air conditioner exit her body. Once she was done, Star plopped down on her bed and got out her phone. She went directly to Google Drive. She scrolled through the different documents until she found the one labeled The Transporter. With a hearty grin, Star clicked the delete button, officially putting the dreaded jewel in the trash. Once the Transporter was successfully deleted, she let out a content sigh and fell backwards onto her pillow. She wanted to take the longest nap in the history of the world.

But then it occurred to her. She couldn't do that yet. The Koopalings' world was still in a state of constant glitching, and the Koopalings themselves were who-knows-where. Before Star could do anything, she needed to fix the mess that she made.

So, with that, Star went back to Google Drive. She opened up a new document and started to type.

...

Iggy opened his eyes. He found that he was back in Bowser's Castle, in Iggy's lab, to be exact. He and his siblings stood in a circle. Iggy looked around at all of them. They all appeared happy, healthy, and whole.

"We're...we're back," Iggy said. The other Koopalings looked around.

"Yeah," said Ludwig. "I guess we are." Wendy exited the circle and went to the window.

"Everything is back to normal!" She exclaimed with a very noticeable amount of excitement in her voice. Iggy went over and saw that, indeed, Wendy was right. The ground was as gray as a cat's fur. The sky was as blue as the wings of a bluebird. Iggy smiled.

"That's amazing." He looked back at his brothers. "But...what happened to Star?"

The others adorned thoughtful expressions.

"Beats me," said Roy with a shrug.

"I'm guessing that she managed to get to the Transporter in time," said Morton.

Iggy smiled.

"Well, I sure am glad that she did."

...

Star smiled as she typed the last word. It seemed that everything turned out all right for the Koopalings. Their world was restored, they themselves were restored...everything was restored. Well, except for the possible exception of Star's ego.

Star giggled at that last thought. With that, she leaned back in bed, pulled the covers up, and went to sleep.

AN: Well, this project was goofy, silly, weird, and every other adjective that you can possibly think of. I am so happy that it is finally finished. Thank you so much to all of you guys for tuning in to read this peek into the mind of my exaggerate caricature, StarlitDuck. Until next time (which will technically be next year, since this is the last day of the dreaded 2020). Stay safe and stay awesome :)
