"Zakariya Moalin, Zacharias Mephilosti, Abraham Gadreelson, Flugel Gadreelosti. Many names, all the same soul. Raise your head and look at me." The young man known as Zakariya Moalin raised his head to look up at God, his eyes glowing faintly. The Creator Deity smiled, reaching out a hand to gently pat his head. "You've done well. You've saved this world, and completed your first task."
...Wait, something was off. Zak blinked. "Wait, what do you mean first task-"
"Gabriel, send him to the next world."
"WAIT, WAIT, ANSWER MY QUESTIONS FOR ONCE-" Zak was cut off as a portal opened up beneath his feet and he was sucked into it. Gabriel looked at his Father blankly.
"Father, I know this next world isn't much of a Punishment, but did you have to send him off without any semblance of what he was supposed to do? Or where he was being sent?" The Archangel asked his Holy Father, who smiled patiently.
"He can handle himself. I know he can. He's been redeemed, but you know me. I created him originally because I wanted to see what he would do. I removed him from Fate for that reason, to emphasize his free will. I want to see what the future has in store for your brother."
BEACON'S ANGEL OF FATE - 01
"THIS WILL BE THE DAY I'VE WAITED FOR"
"...I hate everything." Zak tiredly sighed as he opened his eyes to see he had awoken in a forest. "...Mephilosti, Gadreelson? You in here?" He asked his Archangel and Devil 'brothers', worried that he would be alone.
"I'm still here," Gadreelson replied, as he looked to his left and saw the figure of the Archangel's spirit next to him. Gadreelson looked the same as usual. A tall man standing at 6'3 with flawless white skin, his face framed by long white hair with blue tips and sapphire blue eyes. He also had large gold wings, six in total, though Zak had to use some of his power to see the other 2 sets of wings.
"Same. Not like I can leave." Zak's gaze shifted to his right, where a figure leaned against a tree. It was Mephilosti, his Devil incarnation, who was also Gadreelson's reincarnation after their fall. He had caramel brown skin, standing at the same height as Gadreelson, with messy black hair that had red tips along with red eyes. He seemed tired and bored, which made sense since he never found anything interesting. He also had large black wings on his back, along with 2 sets of flaming Infernal Wings that were hidden… though he didn't dare look at those wings, since he didn't want to turn to stone.
Zak then sighed in relief. His friends were here with him in this world. That was a plus at the very least. "...Where even are we?"
"The World of Remnant." Gadreelson instantly replied, golden butterflies dancing about near him as he focused. "It seems we've arrived just in time for the first Volume to begin. But…"
"But?" Zak and Mephilosti both asked simultaneously, looking up at their first incarnation, who seemed mildly annoyed.
"Jaune Arc doesn't exist in this timeline," Gadreelson said, looking up at his reincarnations with his blue eyes glowing. "Father clearly has a plan here for us."
"Damnit," Zak growled, his jaw locking from anger before he sighed. "...Getting angry at the Creator isn't going to help us. I don't know why he sent us here, but that'll come later. For now, let's just get on with this. I think this is a Subaru situation, where I took his place in my own timeline and story, so God could watch our actions."
"So? What will you do?" Mephilosti asked curiously, black butterflies dancing about his hands, as Zak went silent momentarily.
"...We can't fuck around with time too much, not yet at least. For now, we'll just get this over with, live our lives and enroll at Beacon Academy. We're… I'm 17 again, knowing God." Zak didn't even check, as he knew how the Creator worked by now. His eyes then narrowed as he turned to see Beowolves gathered behind him, with him raising a hand as his Devil and Archangel incarnations disappeared. "Looks like we've got a few stragglers… How dumb can you be?" He chuckled darkly before his eyes exploded with light as he used his Grace to smite the Beowolf swarm.
"I recommend we seal away our Grace to ensure we can't be tracked down. We don't know if we have Return by Death, to begin with. If Salem starts investigating the mass deaths of her Grimm, that could be disastrous." Gadreelson recommended, as Zak eventually nodded. That seemed reasonable. He could seal away his Grace until it was needed… which probably meant the Fall of Beacon.
Despite how annoyed he felt, knowing that God had sent him to another world to 'fix' things, he also felt excited. This world wouldn't be as much of a deathtrap as Terra, since he now had powers of his own, plus if he could get Aura and a Semblance he could be a good Huntsman. His mood was then soured as he then noticed a raven in a tree, cursing to himself as he then ran off to get out of the forest and find his way into civilization.
Good news, he found a metal shop that seemed interested in his Angel steel and even paid him in Lien to get their hands on it.
Bad news, he just lost 190 whole ingots of Angel steel, and he had no idea if he had any chance of getting his real weapons back. Well, sure, he had Cas, his Angel Blade, as well as his Angel Steel pistol; but he didn't want to pull that thing out and start smiting Grimm willy nilly now did he? That could get him on Salem's radar, which he vehemently didn't want to deal with.
Speaking of which, he pulled out his two weapons. Cas was an angel blade made of purified Angel Steel. It could elongate to turn into a Heavenly Sword if he flowed some energy into it too. The blade could kill almost any being it comes into contact with, though it would have to be a "fatal" blow. It also returns to him whenever he loses it or it finds itself out of a 25m radius of him. So, it was very useful.
Mercury, on the other hand, was a Smith-and-Wesson model semi-automatic pistol, infused and made of Angel Steel. Mercury got its name for its silverish color, as well for a different, slightly more humorous reason that only Zak understood. Which felt extremely appropriate now he was in the same world as the person he named it after.
He spun Cas in his left hand idly once he returned Mercury to its position on his hip holster, boredly humming to himself. He had quite a bit of money now after selling his Angel Steel… which he could eventually restock once he unsealed his Grace, meaning at some point he'd have a good constant flow of cash. "I should get myself a room at a hotel or something…" He muttered.
"I could warp some 'transcripts' into existence once we find a place to stay for the night." Gadreelson supplied, as Zak walked around the streets of Vale aimlessly.
"Yeah, and maybe a change of clothing too. We're in a new world, we should try to fit in and get a color scheme of our own." Mephilosti added, his voice showing mild interest for the first time in a while. Zak nodded to both statements, as he then found a hotel called the 'Mahogany Delight'. After getting himself checked in and paying for a room, Zak sat down on the bed and let Gadreelson possess him.
Gadreelson, now in possession of Zakariya's body, stretched slightly and smiled. "Ah, it feels great to have a physical form." The Archangel said to himself.
"Gadreelson…" Zakariya warned, causing the Archangel to laugh in amusement.
"No need to get yourself all twisted up, Fledgeling," Gadreelson replied good-naturedly, before focusing his own Grace. His eyes began to burn a bright gold, with yellow butterflies made of energy surrounding his hands. Moments later, an orb of golden-yellow energy formed between his hands, as he then released them outwards. Once the wave of harmless energy had dispersed, on the desk in front of Gadreelson sat a stack of papers. "And here we go. Transcripts to let us get into Beacon Academy. I even changed Fate slightly, so technically we do exist… as long as someone doesn't look too far into it, we're good."
"Which means we just need to avoid people like Ironwood. He'd probably figure out our lies in a few minutes. Good thing we aren't going to Atlas Academy." Zak chuckled as he regained control of his body and grabbed the papers. Now all he needed to do was submit them in order to get into Beacon, right? "...I should get started. Planning for the future needs to start now, if we're to succeed. Salem's going to be our worst enemy here."
"Yeah, that's true."
"Eh… maybe," Mephilosti said in an unsure tone. "I mean, we should try and think of this as a Satella situation-"
"No." Zak cut off the Devil, his tone cold as he looked at the mirror in front of him. "Salem is nothing like Satella. Satella was infected, turned evil because of Gadreelosti's actions. By your actions. Salem, she does everything because she can. No split personalities to blame, she knows what she's doing is wrong but doesn't care."
Mephilosti went silent, before sighing. "I'm just saying, we should try to redeem her instead of fucking with the Brother Gods' curse on Salem." He said in a placating tone, trying to get Zakariya to see things his way.
"Maybe. But I'm not going to actively try to redeem someone like her." Zak muttered tiredly, his eyes flashing red as he looked at his reflection. He then sighed, looking away from the mirror and collapsing onto his bed. "...I can't wait until Beacon. This… might be fun." And with that, he closed his eyes and dozed off.
Deathly pale white fingers idly tapped on the table before them as a woman, both equally beautiful and terrifying, watched a scene on repeat using her Seer Grimm. Who was this? The Queen of the Grimm, Salem, of course. Her crimson eyes narrowed as she noticed something in the scene.
What was this that she was watching so intently? Through her connection to her Grimm, she had witnessed a strange sight. A young man with caramel skin and black hair, glaring at her Grimm for a moment before a blinding white light disintegrated the Beowolves. In any other situation, she would have grown angry that someone with Silver Eyes had survived. But that wasn't the case, because this boy had brown eyes.
Brown, not Silver. And yet, he was able to replicate the effects of those eyes and vaporize Grimm. "...Pause." She commanded the Seer Grimm, as she looked closer. Just before the flash of light that disconnected her connection to those specific Beowolves, there was a shadow behind the boy. On the floor, were shadows of large bird-like wings. Four of them, in fact.
"My Goddess, what does this mean?" Tyrian Callows, a Scorpion Faunus and devout follower of Salem asked curiously, as he watched from his seat. His tail twitched anxiously at the thought of being able to perhaps kill this threat.
"...Get Hazel." Salem eventually said, looking up from her Seer Grimm and shifting her gaze to Tyrian. "Tell him I have a new mission for him. I want this boy on my side, now. Before Ozpin gets his hands on him."
"Of course!" Tyrian was a bit disappointed that he wasn't able to kill for his Goddess of Destruction, but a task from her was a task he refused to fail! The Scorpion Faunus jumped out of his seat, giggling madly for a moment before he turned to Salem. "A question though…"
"Speak." Salem acknowledged, though her gaze was again focused on the feed of her Seer Grimm.
"Why is this boy so important to you? I understand why you'd like to keep him out of their hands, but-"
"He isn't just a boy." Salem interrupted, smiling faintly as she could feel the potential of her goals being completed. A Celestial, on Remnant… this was surely a blessing in disguise. "He is something far more powerful, much more… primal. He is a Celestial. The vessel of a being with untold power." Salem's eyes flashed red, as she could only imagine what she could do with that kind of power by her side. Ozma would never stand a chance, even if he had all the Silver-Eyed Warriors in the world.
This chess game, their stalemate, was soon to end. A new player had entered the fray. Whoever got their hands on this boy… would be gaining a large amount of firepower for sure.
