the next day*
Mackenzie,Chloe and max sat cuddled up against each other watching transformers under a blanket.
Mackenzie was so happy to be back in Max's life. And so was max. He missed his dad for all those years. But max could tell war and life on the streets changed him. It seemed like there was somebody missing from Mackenzie's life. He had told max about his old friend captain. Hunter had called him telling him that they ran into him and that he was coming that day! So he decided to keep it a secret!
After a while there was a knock at the door
Mackenzie excused himself to answer the door
Once he opened it. He was in taken by complete surprise! Standing before his was his one of his best friends he hasn't seen in years!
"C..captain?" Mackenzie asked in shock
"Bring it in mate!" Captain said as the buddies embraced
"Where have you been man?!" Mackenzie said as he held as him and captain hugged both crying
Max and Chloe then walked up behind them
Max was kind of intimidated by captain. Especially the fact that hunter told him he was a drill.
So max stood at attention the best he could
Once Mackenzie and Captain let go of each other captain turned his attention to max and Chloe
"Well hey there guys! Long time no see!" Captain said exitedly.
"Morning sir!" Max said respectfully
"My goodness max you've become a giant!" Captain said with a chuckle as he shook the pup's hand
"It's great to see you again!" Said Chloe
"You to chloe!" Captain said happily
"Yup max is big now! It feels like yesterday when he was a small pup who walked on all fours and only made weird barks and noises!" Mackenzie said with a chuckle
"Hehe Yup! Anyway there is someone i want you meet!" Captain said excitedly as he motioned Mia and a pup to come to the door
"You guys know Mia! And this is my son sarge!" Captain said as the 10 year old pup approached
"Oh hello there!" Mackenzie said as he shook the boy's hand
"Proud to meet you sir my mum and dad have toldMe a lot of stories about you!" Sarge said respectfully
He then noticed max standing near Mackenzie
"This is max!" Mackenzie said as max stepped up and shook sarge's hand
"Nice to meet you mate!" Said max happily as he began to talk to sarge
Mackenzie invited them in! Everyone began to talk and catch up!
"I see you got your boy hooked on transformers!" Captain said with a chuckle as he watched max and sarge watching the show.
"Yup! Transformers is a big part of our bond!" Said Mackenzie with a small chuckle
"Sarge is all into that stuff to!" Said Mia
"Sarge seems like a very disciplined pup!" Said Chloe
"He really is!" Said Mia
"And no don't worry I don't force him to do pt drills or smoke him! But I have chewed him out in the past when he does something really wrong!" Said captain
"I'm glad I haven't had to be to stern or strict with max! He has always been a really good boy!" Said Mackenzie
"I can tell! What does he want to do when he gets older?" Mia asked
"He wants to be a marine! Just like hunter!" Said Mackenzie
"That's crazy!" Said captain
Then there was a knock at the door. It was Bluey,jean and hunter!
"Come In guys!" Said Mackenzie
Bluey and jean joined them at the table as hunter joined max and sarge in the living room.
"Hey there! What's your name?" Hunter asked excitedly
"My name is sarge!" Sarge responded
"My name is hunter!" Said hunter
They then began to get to know each other all binding over the usmc,transformers and many other similar interests!
Over time sarge noticed a scar on hunters chest.
"How did you get that?" Sarge asked hunter pointing out the scar
Hunter's facial expression changed. he bowed his head
"Oh my goodness mate I'm so sorry if I made you upset!" Sarge said worrying that hunter wouldn't want to be his friend anymore
Hunter lifted his head back up
"It's ok." Said hunter
Max put his paw on sarge's shoulder
"Is it ok if I tell him?" Max asked
Hunter nodded
"Well when he was 6 these really bad men came driving by and shot him and his cousins." Said max with remorse
"I see..." said Sarge with guilt in his voice
"Look. Sometimes people go through things that hurt them really bad to the point where they don't. Feel comfortable talking about it. So it's always best to get to know them and make sure they are comfortable to talk about it." Said max
"I understand. And I'm sorry" said Sarge
Hunter smiled
"There's no need to be sorry! You were just curious! This scar looks cool anyway! And the guys who did this faced justice! I'll live!" hunter assured sarge
Sarge's guilty frown turned into a smile as he wagged his tail
"That's what I like to see!" Said max
They then changed the subject to more positive things!
After a few days Captain and his family were moved in! Sarge met cupcake,little Jack,destiny,Loki and many other kids in his new extended family! And even joined Jack's pretend marine corps!
Captain and Mia reunited with everyone in the neighborhood and caught up! Now captain,Mia and sarge were part of the family once and for all!
