In Mother Base all the staff members were busy as usual. The Mess Hall staffs were busy cooking, the Medical staffs were conducting medical examinations on soldiers, The R&D Team were doing experiments and creating new weapons and the MSF soldiers were either sent to missions or doing target practice, though recently, they were spending more time getting along with soldiers from this world.
The Britannian soldiers, although stubborn and sometimes hot headed, are good soldiers, all deserted from the Britannian army. It wasn't a big surprise after all the high talks and abuse caused by the nobles and higher ranked Britannian soldiers. It took most of them a while to open up with the other members, but eventually they managed to get along well.
The Chinese Federation soldiers and Europian soldiers were kinda the same, though the hate and mistrusts were directed at the Britannians. But after several scolding and discussions made by Miller and other MSF higher ups, everything went well.
The Sandinistas, US soldiers and Soviets soldiers found themselves talking with the soldiers from this world. They talked about personal stuffs, interests and other kind of stuffs, all without blowing up their cover.
The new additions to MSF also helped to bright the atmosphere.
The soldiers Akio Ohtsuka and David Hayter were a prime example of friendship. The 2 fought together and have each other's back, like they were brothers in arm.
The scientist: Yoshiyuki Tomino, came up with new blueprints for the MSF Knightmares, as well as other innovations for weapons.
With the mercenary factions: The Forgotten Knights, The Werewolf Corps, The Vikings of the North, The Brotherhood of Iron and Steel and The Lions of Khalahari, they all became like brothers and sisters to the MSF soldiers.
The Forgotten Knights practiced sword and combat knives with the recruits, their noble personality gained lots of trusts between MSF soldiers. After all, they were the first mercenary factions to join them.
The Werewolf Corps worked very well with the R&D Team as they helped to sky rocket their researches.
The Vikings of the North helped to maintain the docks and ships.
The Lions of the Khalahari provided maintenance on the aircrafts and would regularly do patrols.
But the one that provided great help, although a little too much, were the Brotherhood of Iron and Steels, they all worked 24 hours a day with literally everyone, and they were all friendly.
Yeah, everything was getting better.
Miller thought about all these. He was back to his role of second in command, but sometimes he felt like he wants to go back to Japan and pay a little visit to Kallen and The Black Knights. The time he spent with them was warming, especially with Kallen, whom he developed a connection and sees her like a little sister.
"Commander Miller, several helicopters incoming, they are from the mercenary faction The Fire Dragons the Boss told us about" Informed Hideo.
Miller broke out from his thoughts as he saw through the command center the helicopters, which are colored dark yellow with the insignia of a dragon.
"Time to make a good presentation, again" Sighed Miller as he got up and walked to the elevator.
Once the elevator reached down and opened, Miller walked out and by coincidence, he met with Amanda and Chico.
"Hi Amanda!" Miller greeted.
"Oh, hi Miller!" Said Amanda with a smile. "What's the hurry?"
Miller sighed as he spoke.
"Another new mercenary faction arrived. They met with Boss in Japan, but this will be their first time here. So, I've got to give them a tour"
Amanda raised an eyebrow curiously. Every time a mercenary faction decided to join them, things have become more and more interesting.
"Oh sweet! Mind if I come with you? I want to see what kind of people they are!" Said Chico with excitement.
Miller chuckled at Chico's excitement.
"Well, you can, if you and Amanda are not busy"
"Sure, why not?" Said Amanda with a smile.
After walking for several seconds, Miller, Amanda and Chico reached to the main helipad where the helicopters just landed.
The doors of the helicopters slid open as 6 people stepped out, 4 of them were soldiers while the other 2 were a pair of young, beautiful women, Yang Xiao Lang and Lightning.
Yang was the first to greet them.
"Hi there! You must be Big Boss's left hand, Kazuhira Miller, right?" Spoke Yang
"That's me" Said Miller with a smile
"And you must be Lightning" Miller turned his head at Lightning .
Lightning just shrugged without any interest.
"Nice to meet you" Lightning replied.
"Come on, sis! Cheer up!" Said Yang happily as she put her left arm on her shoulder.
"Fine" Lightning sighed as she rubbed Yang's hand on her shoulder.
"Excuse my sister, she's sometimes grumpy and antisocial" Said Yang with a teasing tone as she grabbed Lightning's cheek with her index finger and thumb and pulled it, gaining a groan from Lightning.
Miller chuckled as he spoke.
"No worries, I'm sure here will open her more"
Yang then noticed Amanda and Chico.
"So, who are these? Said Yang in wonder as she also thought "And why is there a kid here? I thought this place was for grown up people"
Amanda then introduced herself.
"My name is Amanda Valenciano Libre, I'm the leader of my revolutionary group , the Sandinista National Liberation Front."
"Oooh, looks like we got another badass girl around her!" Said Yang with an excited tone. Amanda smiled at the enthusiasm of Yang.
She motioned her hand to Chico.
"This boy here is my little brother, Chico"
"It's nice meeting you, miss! Said Chico happily.
Yang giggled softly "You are a cute little boy"
"H-hey! I'm not a little boy! I'm a man!" Protested Chico while blushing embarrisingly.
"You sure are….Little Boy" Said Yang with a grin as she patted Chico's head, making him blush more.
Everyone present laughed heartly.
"Commander Miller!" Called an MSF soldier as he stopped infront of Miller and saluted, which also gained the attention of the others around.
"Major Ocelot and the leaders of the mercenary factions are returning, along with the "guests" from Australia."
Miller had a surprised look since he didnt thought that they would come back so soon and at such timing.
"Tell Ocelot that i'm already here at the main helipad" Ordered Miller.
"Yes, sir!" With that the MSF soldier took his leave.
Miller turned around to face the group, who had already heard the conversation.
"It seems that some of our most important staffs are arriving, do you girls want to meet them?" Asked Miller.
"Sure! Don't see any problem, I'll signal my pilot to clear the helipad for ya" replied Yang.
"Thank you. Tell him to land on the hangar of Mother base" Said Miller with a smile as he pointed to the hangar.
Yang nodded. She whistled to the pilot and then signaled him to go to the hangar located where Miller told her.
The helicopter then hovered and left the helipad, leaving a lot of space.
Soon enough, 4 helicopters were spotted.
Each of them landed on the helipad. From the left side to the right side, the doors opened as one by one the passengers exited.
In the first helicopter, 4 individuals stepped out: Gregory, Eliza, Cornelio and Orpheus. Gregory and Eliza walked to Miller and saluted at him while Cornelio and Orpheus stared at Mother Base in awe. Cornelio felt amazed at the structure of Mother Base and knowing that this place would become his and his soldiers new home. Orpheus
In the second helicopter, Ocelot, Shira, Liz, Dafne and Akira walked out respectively. Ocelot Shira and Liz greeted Miller while Dafne and Akira looked with amazement at the buildings and the Command Center. Dafne looked her surroundings, feeling nervous since this is the first time she has ever been outside. Akira was also feeling the same. Currently, Dafne was dressed with a dark blue t shirt with a grey thin vest, a pair of blue jeans and black boots. Akira was dressed with a black t shirt, a pairo f black pants and a dark tennis shoes with white strips. As for his wings, he is capable to retract them without restrains on his back.
Chico noticed the 2 kids with surprise, not expecting t osee kids of his age here of all places. Dafne saw Chico, which prompted him to wave at responded with a small wave with her left hand unsecurily.
The third helicopter opened its doors and the one who stepped out was Adalhelm with 4 of his soldiers. Nothing special with them, with the exception of a folder in Adalhelm's left hand.
And as for the fourth helicopter, 3 MSF soldiers walked out. But inside the helicopter there are 3 passenger that hasn't walked out yet, 2 were soldiers with equipments and outfits that has no resemblance to Britannia, Europian or the Chinese Federation. as for the other, no one was able to see his/her appeareance, only a silhoutte
"Miller!" Ocelot greeted as he waved at him.
Miller walked forward and greeted him back.
"Ocelot, I take that your mission was a success" Said Miller.
"Yep, we managed to destroy the Metal Demon and we got some info about it"
"Oh? What kind of info?"
Ocelot leaned forward to Miller's left ear and whispered.
"One that you will find it hard to believe"
Miller took the matter seriously, if Ocelot was being cryptic about it, then it must mean something very important.
"I see that Amanda, Chico and the 2 leaders of The Fire Dragons are here" Noted Ocelot as he looked at them.
"Sup Ocelot" Amanda greeted him.
"Oh! You must be the guy Ocelot whom helped us join Militaire Sans Frontieres!" Said Yang as she recognized Ocelot.
"Hehe, yeah. Nice to meet you 2 in person" Said Ocelot.
"Miller! Ocelot!" Called out Gregory as he extended his right hand.
"Gregory, Eliza, good to see you two back!" Said Miller with a grin as he shook Gregory's hand.
Ocelot also extended his right hand and shook Gregory's hand.
Eliza let out a smile as she nodded softly.
"It's good to be back home" Sighed Gregory with a happy tone.
"Hiya boys!" Shira greeted, joining the small group with Liz behind her.
"Hi Shira, Liz!" Miller greeted
"Ocelot informed me that you and the rest managed to beat the Metal Demon, congratulations!" Praised Miller.
"Haha, thank you, but if there's anyone who must receive all the praise,is Major Ocelot" Said Shira as she laughed softly.
"Hey! Dont forget about me!"
Adalhelm shouted as he joined them.
"Haha, how can we forget you, you crazy german!" Said Gregory as he punched lightly on Adalhelm's right shoulder in a friendly manner. Adalhelm laughed happily as he pat Gregory's shoulder.
Miller then noticed the 4 who have arrived with them.
"I take that you guys brought them here" Said Miller as he inspected Cornelio, Orpheus, Dafne and Akira.
"Yeah, these 2 are going to join us" Said Gregory referring to the 2 leaders of their own mercenary factions.
"And these 2 kids are under my care" Said Shira with a caring tone.
"I see" Said Miller as he thought about it.
"I'll go speak with them" Miller said as he approached the 2 mercenary leaders.
Meanwhile, the 2 mercenaries, Cornelio and Orpheus, lloked around their surroundings with awe.
When Cornelio saw Mother Base, he was speechless on how big it was this mercenary nation. He thought his contacts were exaggerating, but it turns out that they were telling the truth. He could still remember how everything started. When he saw Big Boss first debut during the Kawaguchi Hotel Hijacking, he could tell that Big Boss is a veteran soldier, but he didnt join him inmediately since their forces were only small comapred to Britannia. The moment that he decided to join them was after their victory against Britannia's invasion to MSF. They showed everyone that they were capable to repel a superpower, one that was stronger than Euro and the Chinese Federations.
During his journey, he encountered another group. One that he heard before, but he always thought that they were just rumors. The terrorist group: Peace Mark. He felt skeptical when he met this group, but he decided to tag along, although reluctantly, since they also want to meet with Big Boss.
Orpheus was sent alone by Peace Mark to establish contact with MSF, now that they have proved to be a powerful nation against Britannia. If they are not be able to have MSF to join them, there is always the option of hiring them. The reason he was sent alone was due to the shortage of members in Peace Maker, and because Orpheus is the only member being the most active and recognizable in all the missions.
Cornelio and Orpheus continued to look in amazement at Mother Base, until they noticed Miller approaching them.
"Greetings!" Started Cornelio with a small bow. Orpheus simply nodded at Miller.
"Nice to have you two join us, I'm Kazuhira Miller, second in command of Militare Sans Frontieres"
"I'm Cornelio Auditore da Firenze, leader of the Roman League of Assasins"
"Hmm, a mercenary of assasins?" Said Miller with a thoughtful tone. Having a group of stealth assassins in Mother Base doesnt sound so bad. Although he would have to speak with Cornelio about his assassins since most people would be nervous if they have assassins amongst them.
"Yes, signore . We were all highly trained to carry out orders to assassinate our target in the most advanced arts of stealth."
"Hmm, doesnt sound bad, I think Big Boss would be happy to meet you" Said Miller as he turned to Orpheus.
"My names Orpheus "Oz" Zevon, I belong to the terrorist mercenary organization: Peace Mark "
"Peace Mark? And you said that you belong to? " Said Miller curiously and with some suspiscion since usually the leaders are the ones to present themselves.
"That's correct. I'm sure you are wondering, why the leader of Peace Mark didn't come personally. To answer that question, Peace Mark has no leader. It was created by a collective of people.
"I see. On behalf of Big Boss, I welcome you all to Militaire Sans Frontieres" Said Miller. He decided that this matter of Peace Mark would be better if he discussed it with Ocelot and Big Boss.
While Miller spoke to them, the newcomers decided to get acquainted with the other members of MSF.
"Heeeyy there" Yang suddenly called as she approached Gregory, Adalhelm, Eliza, Shira and Liz with a cheeky smile.
The 5 mercenary leaders then finally noticed Yang and Lightning's presence.
"Who is this chick?" Started Shira with interest.
"Name's Yang Xiao Lang, and this is my sister Lightning, we are The Fire Dragons" Said Yang introducing herself and her group.
"Oh! You must be the mercenary group who were late to join MSF!" Said Shira, remembering that when she contacted MSF, they mentioned about another mercenary faction that couldn't arrive in time.
"Yep"Said Yang said as she scratched her head with her right hand.
"It is a pleasure to meet you" Gregory approached as he extended his right hand for a handshake.
Yang grinned as she shook his hand.
Eliza noted that Lightning hasnt spoke yet, so she approached her.
"Hi there" Greeted Eliza with a smile.
"…Hey" Said Lightning without interest.
"My name is Eliza Scarlett, leader of the Vikings of the North"
"Name's Lightning, co-leader of the Fire Dragons"
"Are you alright? You haven't said anything after your sister introduced your group" Said Eliza with a curious tone.
Lightning sighed softly. She wasn't really interested in conversations since she isn't a social person. But in this case, she decided to lighten up a bit, now that she will become part of MSF and sooner or later she will have to speak with everyone here.
"Sorry if im being disrespectful, I'm not very talkative"
"I see" Eliza frowned a bit. During her time in Mother Base, she met and talked with many MSF soldiers, she found out that there were some who prefer loneliness. Of course, she wouldnt go around and tell them to stop being lonely, she respects their own privacy. But she wished that those people would open up. This place, the one place they can call home, is where everyone should help each other, there's no need for each of them to suffer their own pains from the past. They can share it with the rest of the soldiers.
"I won't press you. Just know that if you ever need someone to talk to, aside of your sister, we are here to help, ok?" Said Eliza with a smile.
Lightning just closed her eyes, feeling a little bit annoyed. She anticipated that this would happen sooner, so she guessed that she'll have to deal with it.
"Yeah, sure" Said Lightning emotionless as she walked away, causing Eliza to frown again and then let out a sigh.
While Yang was becoming acquainted with the Gregory,Shira, Liz and Adalhelm. Chico approached Dafne and Akira. Chico was feeling genuinely happy to see kids around his age since he hasn't talked to anyone younger than him.
"Hi!" Said Chico happily.
"H-hi" Said Dafne shyly.
"Hello" Said Akira also shyly.
Chico then tilted his head in wonder, he thought these kids would be more open, but he guessed he was wrong.
"My name's Ricardo Valenciano Libre! But you can call me Chico!" Chico presented himself with more enthusiasm.
Dafne was surprised, not expecting Chico to have a Spanish name.
"Chico? Hablas español? (You speak Spanish?)" Asked Dafne in spanish.
"Oh! Si!" Replied Chico in spanish with excitement.
"My name is Dafne Kinney" Said Dafne with a small smile, now feeling comfortable.
"His name is Akira Fugo, he is sometimes shy" Said Dafne.
"Hannah, I'm not shy!" Countered Akira.
"It's nice to meet you both! I'm sure we can get along well!" Said Chico as he motioned the two to follow him.
"Come! Let me show you around here!" He walked away, but then he saw that the 2 weren't following him.
"What's wrong?" Asked Chico.
"I dont think we should leave, we can't leave our mom"
"Mom?" Wondered Chico.
"What is it, my girl?" Suddenly spoke the voice of Shira as she approached Dafne.
Chico then gazed at Shira in surprise.
"Wait, she is your daughter?!" Said Chico in shock.
"Adopted, and of course she is, Chico" Shira chuckled as she caressed Dafne's head.
"Mom, he said that he wants to show me and Akira this place, I…dont know if i should" Said Dafne unsure of this.
"You should my girl. This is your new home " Said Shira with a smile.
"And don't worry, Chico is a good kid, right?" Shira said as she emphazised the last word with a tone that said " Do something to her, and i'll show you hell"
"Y-yeah!" Said Chico with a nervious smile.
"Everyone, I have an important announcement!" Suddenly, Miller called everyone.
They all stopped what they were doing and turned their attention on Miller.
"Today we have an important guest. So I would like to ask you all to give her a warm welcome!" Announced Miller as everyone agreed.
Miller turned to face the pilot in the helicopter and nodded as a sign that they're ready top greet the guest.
The pilot nodded back as he went to the door and opened it.
The first ones to come out were the soldiers. They wore some sort of military outfit
The first thing that everyone noticed were a pair of black military boots with red colored stripes, next were a pair of dark red colored jeans, then a long sleeved dark red colored coat with a red t shirt underneath it. When the guest was fully visible, it turns out to be a young girl, probably 16 years old. She has a shoulder lenght hair with a mix of black and dark red color hair, she has a small nose and small lips, like most girls of her age. One of her interesting features is that she has silver eyes.
Miller approached to greet her
"I hope your trip was a pleasant one" Spoke Miller.
"It was. The pilot is a very nice guy." Said the young girl with a smile.
"Most of our pilots aren't so talkative, but Pequod likes to do coversations" Added Miller as the young girl giggled softly.
"I'm Kazuhira Miller, second in command of Militaire Sans Frontieres. It's nice to meet you" Miller introduced himself as he extended his right hand for a handshake.
The young girl shook his hand as she spoke.
"Nice to meet you too, mister Kazuhira! My name is Rose "Ruby" Washington! Representative of the Australian goverment! " Said Ruby with a grin.
"Rose Washington? Are you in some way related to George Washington?" Miller asked with curiosity.
"Hehe, yep! He was my great great grandpa!" Ruby confirmed with a proud tone.
This revelation surprised everyone since no one expected that someone related, let alone a descendant, to the leader of the failed Independence War of America.
"Well, this is a surprise! I never thought that a descendant of Washington would showed up in our doorsteps" Said Ocelot as he walked to them.
"Aww stop, it's not like I'm a celebrity" Said Rose embarresingly. Ocelot laughed humoriously as he introduced himself.
"I'm Shalashaska, but im better known as "Ocelot", I'm Big Boss's right hand"
"Oh? Like one of those wildcats?" Said Rose with excitement.
"Hehe, that's right. It's my codename in the battlefield"
Miller turned around to face the rest and spoke.
"Everyone! I present Rose "Ruby" Washington, representative of the Australian Government. She is here to do business with us, so she will be staying here for a day."
"Yes sir!"
"Nice to meet you all!" Rose waved at them with a happy smile.
"Soldiers, dismissed!" Said Miller, giving them the permission to leave.
"Well, now that the introductions are done. Welcome to Mother Base, Miss Washington"
"Thank you, mister Miller! Also, call me Ruby. Miss Washington makes me feel like an old lady" Said Ruby playfully.
"Huh, sure! Then I ask you to call me Kaz" Said Miller as he motioned her and Ocelot to accompany him to the command center.
As Miller, Ocelot and Rose, along with her 2 soldiers, walked to the command center. Yang stared at Rose with a curious and interested expression.
"Yang? Wha's wrong?" Lightning called to her.
"That girl…" As Yang said that, Lightning turned her gaze at Rose.
"You know her?'
"No, but for some reason, she looks oddly familiar." Said Yang, with a feeling of nostalgia lingering in her mind.
Yang shook her heard.
"Never mind, maybe I'm thinking too much about it" She dismissed it.
"Whatever you say, sister" Said Lightning nontachanly, causing Yang to playfully punch her shoulder.
"Come on, let's get acquianted with our new friends!" Said Yang. With that, she went to talk with Gregory, Adalhelm, Eliza, and Liz.
Chico decided to take the initiative again and called Daffne and Akira.
"Come on! Let me show you around! It's kinda boring with me being the only minor here!" Said Chico happily.
Daffne and Akira looked at each other for a second. And with a nod, they walked behind him.
Shira stared at her children walking away with Chico. She couldnt help but smile at Daffne and Akira getting along with the boy.
"Dont worry, Shira. My little brother won't get them into trouble" Spoke Amanda as she approached Shira.
"Sorry, this is the first time i've ever had to have children" Amanda then put a hand on Shira's left shoulder.
"If you ask me, you are doing well so far" Said Amanda with a reassuring tone as she then walked away.
Shira then let out a smile as she saw them walk away with Chico.
As the rest of the MSF members, along with the new members. started to walk to their destination. Orpheus suddenly put a hand on his head as he grunted in pain. His eyes started to show the geass symbol but then it started to appear and dissappear uncontrollably.
"Huh!"
Gregory, Adalhelm, Eliza, Liz ,Shira and Cornelio noticed this as they approached them with concern.
"H-hey! Are you alright?" Said Liz with a worried tone.
Suddenly, the pain stopped as Orpheus panted.
"What happened,kid?" Cornelio asked.
"I-It's nothing. Just a headache" Reassured Orpheus.
"You should head for the medical bay. You worried us with that display" Said Adalhelm.
"I'm fine. Thank you" Orpheus dismissed it as he got up and walked with them.
"Regardless, it's important that you go to the medical bay and have it checked." Added Eliza.
"Don't worry, I'll check it soon enough" Said Orpheus with a reassuring tone.
The group didn't feel convinced with Orpheus claim. They can't help but feel that he is hiding something from them. All they could do was hope that whatever Orpheus has, won't cause any harm to their home.

I hope you all liked the side story. I'm deeply sorry for not being able to post a new chapter when i promised that i would post it sooner.
To give you the reasons why it took me this long, it's because I started to work at my family's bussiness, which is really exhausting and it kills my motivation to write. I went through another tough time of my life, one that may be the last time I ever have to go through. And lastly, i was also trying to write the next chapter, which i only convered 4% sadly.
Also, there is something i want to let you all know about what will happen for the next chapters.
First, there will be no more mercenary factions for now. I've reached a part of the story where the plot will get really serious, so i'm going to focus on what is going to happen.
And Second, i've said before that i wasn't prepared to diverge the canon of Code Geass. But after some considerations, i may say that i am more or less prepared to do some changes. So with that said, I'm open for any suggestions for the next chapters. Take in mind, that i won't be able to add ALL your suggestions. I want to keep most of them in secret and not spoil the twists.
