Part 1: First Meeting
As Antre gets ready to tell the entire journey from where he met Korra and their near death adventures to the team, he is shortly interrupted as Bolin walks back to the group, giving him a nod of acknowledgment to the earthbender now turned lava bender. Something of his skills is impressive, most impressive, he heard of such rare abilities of benders unlocking new elements along their journey, especially in terms of dangerous, adrenaline fueled predicaments, it indeed can trigger something special within their consciousness. A sorta of new power that manifested in the middle of danger, which Bolin achieved when Mako and Asami carried Tenzin to safety, when the one of the air temples got destroyed by Zaheer and his gang.
"So, where shall we start?" Antre asked the group, seeing Opal joined in alongside team avatar, the brown eyed Jedi smiled in acknowledgement to the airbender, receiving one back in response.
"Oh, I know, the part where you met me at one of the streets where the triple threat triads are at, particularly right before I attempted to fight all three of them gang members?"
Korra asked him with a raised hand, smiling to the time where she was caught off guard to the former Jedi Knight who also arrived at the city as a newbie himself, but lived amongst them before she came along.
"Very well, no skipping all of the details can do, it's going to be a wild ride so please sit back and enjoy the recap, guys and gals."
He smiled with a chuckle, feeling something wrap their hands around his waist, and it's none other than the avatar herself, her rich girl babe giving a laugh of amusement. Knowing her well since that moment, he smirked as he knew there was a history between them.
"You can't help yourself, can you?" Antre smirked
Korra gives a light giggle before nodding at him to continue, giving her facial cheek a trace of his finger.
"Our story begins a long time ago, in a street far, far close by."
(3 Years ago, Republic City)
A mysterious stranger from outer space lived amongst us, and is he friend or foe, and will he be able to contain such a hot headed teen who is ready to begin her airbending training?
Naga stopped at a nearby bridge that faces the air temple island, adjacent to it stands Avatar Aang's statue wielding an air staff, a smile on Korra's face the moment she laid eyes on it.
"Ready for a swim girl?"
She asked her best friend if she wants to go for a nice swim towards the island, but instead, she's feeling rather famished.
"Okay okay, food first, then air temple!"
She exclaimed while Naga swoops through the streets, telling her to watch out for the Sato mobiles coming her way
"Look out naga, watch out!"
After stopping a bit to sniff for food, Naga stuck her nose at a meat canopy, attempting to eat it before Korra stopped her.
"Naga no!"
The polar dog whines in shame, Korra turning to face the lady selling the food.
"We'll take one of everything."
"That'll be 20 yuans."
"I don't have any money."
"Then what good are you to me?!"
She scowled, leavin Korra no choice but to leave.
"Don't worry girl, the city's huge, we can rustle up something to eat."
She went towards a park that housed a big population and toasted three fishes, while a man popped up from the bushes.
When an officer spots Korra, she booked it as the homeless man waved goodbye for her.
In the same park however, The mysterious stranger from space strolled around casually with his robe hood down, the citizens have been giving him looks as they never seen him before around these parts, but he didn't care, he is curious about this day and events, being a citizen of earth certainly changed his perspective.
As he heard a rally going on about oppressing benders, he and his droid followed the source before eventually facing the man with a bullhorn.
"Join Amon and the equalists, you don't benders to take over the city and treat you like nothing?!"
Antre shook his head in disgust, even humans with gift are still considered citizens amongst themselves, this rally where the person stood on the table is just plain rude
"I hate to burst your bubble buddy, but they're humans as well, gifted if i might say."
Antre said with proudness in his voice, the avatar girl is not far behind, his smirk forming on his face.
"What are you going to do, knock me off the table for doing this?"
He asked with cockiness in his tone.
"Perhaps, maybe a bit of lightning can knock sense into you."
Antre smirked again, daring if he could use Sith powers, but didn't.
"See people? These benders are oppressing us due to overpopulating this great city along with our fellow non benders!"
"You're oppressing yourselves!"
Korra interjected, receiving answers that didn't make sense.
As the Jedi knight walked amongst the streets, he asked an elderly woman for directions
"Do you know where i can find a currency station?"
"Just head down that street."
"Thanks."
A sound of a Sato mobile came speeding through the street briskly, the old lady warning the Jedi.
"You should get moving young man, it isn't safe."
He nodded, Korra getting the same answer after asking for directions to go to air temple island.
The three gang members approached a phonograph store, the owner frozen in his tracks as they made the demands on his payment.
"Mr Chung, please tell me that you have my money, or else i can't guarantee to protect your fine establishment."
"Business is slow as usual, but here is my phonograph."
The scarred firebender smashed it to bits, intimidating him to death.
"My friend here isn't a music fan, hand me the money or else-"
"Or else the police will come and arrest you for your stupidity."
The Jedi knight announced, Korra mere inches from him stood silent, looking back at the gang members and to the mysterious stranger with brown robes, and a metallic device on his belt that shined through the glint of the sun.
The three of them turned to each other for a moment, and laughed.
"Obviously since you're fresh off the boat, let me explain a couple of things: you're in triple triad territory, and we're about to put you in the hospital."
Being the quick thinker he is, the Jedi waved his hand in front of him as he persuaded them to not fight.
"You will not fight me."
"We will not fight you."
They repeated, a look of shock from Korra and the two shop owners appeared on their faces, the gang members being under control by the stranger's abilities
"You will sit on the sidewalk and wait for the police to take you into custody."
"We will sit on the sidewalk and wait for the police to take us into custody."
Antre nodded to the phonograph owner to phone the police, arriving at the scene 10 minutes later, cuffing and taking them to the airship.
"Thank you for your cooperation, we've been hunting down the triad for a while, and you've done the right thing, stranger."
One of the officers said to Antre as he bowed his head in a manner of respect, Korra walking over to him with a curious expression.
"Excuse me there, stranger, how did you do that?"
She asked, her jaw practically still picking itself up after a few minutes of the shock she expressed mere moments ago as the gang members were taken away.
"It's called a mind trick, it only works on the weak minded and influences the thoughts and actions of a person's mind, in short, I can de-escalate a situation to my advantage."
Antre explained in detail, earning a look of intrigue on her face as she nodded to his short story of the ability.
"Where are you headed off to, Korra?"
"To air temple island."
"Would you join me, I didn't get your name."
Korra asked, summoning naga close to her, giving her a pet on her head.
"Antre Ticor, Jedi Knight and General of the 212th battalion."
"Avatar Korra."
He bowed in respect after hearing avatar in her title, hearing of another one before her, Avatar Aang had ended the 100 year war 70 years ago, according to a street poster that told of the events that took place in his lifetime, fulfilling his promise to end the war before Sozin's comet.
"Jedi?" Korra asked plurally as she isn't familiar with the term, opening her mind into finding out his true origins.
"It's a long story to explain, but i'll tell you in detail later on."
Antre said with a nod, promising to unveil his true beginnings as he followed the girl along, meeting a bald man and chief of police at the dock, along with three young children, running towards Korra, happy to see her here on Air temple island.
"Are you going to stay with us on the island?" Ikki asked her, a hint of excitement in her question.
"No, I can't stay, I have to go back home." Korra said, disappointment prominent in her voice as she lay her head down as Naga whined in response with hers down as well, before Tenzin stopped her from her tracks.
"Wait. I have done my best to guide Republic City towards the dream my father had for it, but you are right. It has fallen out of balance since he passed. I thought I should put off your training in order to uphold his legacy, but you are his legacy. You may stay and train airbending here with me. Republic City needs its avatar once again."
Korra cheered in sheer bliss, grinning widely.
"YES! You're the best, Thank you!"
She excitedly picked up the three kids with no effort, as well as Tenzin as Naga nudged her head onto her back, purring softly.
Once the good news celebration finished, Antre observed the entirety of the place, its structure rather phenomenal, it may not be as big as Coruscant, but it still looks rather comfortable.
"Antre! Where are you off too?" Korra shouted for him, his attention turning to the young woman.
"Going to have a tour of this place, i'll be back." He said, before using the force to enhance his speed to inhuman paces, checking to see if his Jedi starfighter isn't tampered with.
R6 beeped an acknowledgement to Antre as he went over to him.
"Looks like we need to park this vehicle somewhere where strangers can't take it apart and sell it for force knows what."
He said, jumping in the cockpit, pressing every button including one to eject R6 out of it, the thought of drowning him by accident is not what he wants to see.
After using the force with complete focus and one hand raised, he lifted the ship with ease, placing it in a nearby land, using his com to make it go invisible, much to the surprise of both Tenzin and Korra, who appeared from behind him only mere steps away, turning around to face them.
"Oh, I take it you guys saw this."
They nodded in sync, Tenzin stroking his beard in thought of this talented stranger, is he a new airbender in need of training? Or could he be already trained?
"I'll tell you my full story by tomorrow, in the meantime, can anyone show me to my quarters?" The black haired Jedi asked, his brown robes flapping with the gentle winds, Tenzin signaling Meelo to show him to his quarters, taking his bag along with him as sleepwear is equipped in it.
Once he made it to his quarters, it is just a basic room with a closet rack on the side, bed, and circular window that faced a golden arena and the city itself, the night lights brought so much spectacle from his room's window.
In his usual night routine that he has practiced in his private time, Antre got into a meditative position, crossing his legs and closed his eyes, levitating off the ground as he began to meditate. Only just a few minutes into his routine, he frowned with struggle, visions of many images overwhelmed him at first, but was curious to find out what they meant. Regaining his composure, he focused on the images of a tall man in black and red, with an ominous mask on his face, with only the eyes shown and red marking on the top of the forehead. Before it can continue, he is brought back to reality with his faithful droid beeping in concern, turning his eyes to face him.
"I'm alright buddy, perhaps some real rest can do for the night."
He gave his droid a hug of reassurance, R6's arm tapped its tiny hand on his back, always being there for him when he feels down or distraught.
(The next morning)
Rows of news reporters flashed their cameras as Korra stood at the podium equipped with microphones in order for the citizens to hear her clearly, Antre giving her a nod of acknowledgement, a move that signified her to go for it, being nervous in front of any crowd is natural for anyone, including himself as he has been to similar events such as these when he was a padawan.
"Hello, i'm your new avatar." Korra said, the same reporters began to overwhelmingly ask her questions such as: will you stay in the city, work with Chief Beifong, etc.
With no hesitation, Korra continued. "Yes I am definitely here to stay, but honestly, i don't exactly have a plan yet. You see, I'm still in training, but look, all I know is Avatar Aang meant for this city to be the center of peace and balance in the world, and I believe we can make his dream a reality. I look forward to serving you, I'm so happy to be here! Thank you Republic City."
She finished, turning around to smile at Antre, which bowed his head in return to her rousing speech, clapping softly to her.
In an unknown location, a right hand man in black and green goggles turned off the radio, turning his attention to his boss in dark clothing.
"Amon, how do you want to handle this?"
"So, the avatar has arrived early, looks like we have to accelerate our plans." Amon said in a gruff, but sinister voice hidden due to the mask covering his face.
(Present Day)
Korra accidentally fell asleep on Antre's back, but he smiled at the ordeal, the whole group applauding his ability to picture a story in their heads while paying attention. He drank some tea with creamer and sugar in it, lightly giving Korra's head a nice kiss, a smile appeared on her sleepy face as she woke up.
"Amon is not one to be messed with, but I've witnessed something spectacular within those weeks." Antre said, referring to the moment she unlocked her 4th element: air.
"That was the most dire moment of my entire life, when Mako is in danger of losing his powers, mine is clicked right away when he was almost subjected into the torture, and i was saddened temporaily when he took away my other 3 elements.
Antre hugged her close, the group nodded in acknowledgment to that moment from themselves too, Bolin as well, as soon as he let go of Korra, Antre looked up to see Tenzin and Pema from the hallways, nodding to them to sit along with them.
"We'll continue the rest later, I feel famished, perhaps some breakfast?"
Antre turned to look at Tenzin, nodding to him as they already made it, inviting him to attend the family dining table inside.
To be Continued..
