Chapter 10 – Saving Seamus
Felix was sat in his room at the manor being healed by Severus. "You're a lucky boy Felix. If your godfather hadn't of got note of this attack Dumbledore would still have you in his grasp." Severus looked at the young Malfoy. He would have thought by this point that he would have been looking into the eyes of Harry Potter again. That was the old coots plan after all. Without Potter he was nothing in the war. "Sev? Why can't he just leave me to enjoy my life?" Felix looked down at his hands at this point trying to hold tears back. He meant it. All he ever wanted was to enjoy his childhood and Dumbledore always seemed to cause trouble. Growing up with the Dursleys was hard enough and now he has had found his real family who were loving and caring the man still wanted to ruin his life.
"I can't answer why Felix because I have no idea however, you won't have to worry about this for long as Dumbledore has been captured and is being held in the ministry awaiting a hearing on Thursday." Felix smiled at this but still felt there was a long way to go before he would feel safe again. He was about to reply to Severus but was stopped by Seamus walking in with his father behind. Felix sat up in his bed and smiled as he looked at the Irish boy. "I'll leave you three to talk. Felix the pain should start going down in the next few hours and you should be right as rain tomorrow. If you need anything else send Hedwig." And on those parting words, Severus left the room with his robes billowing behind him.
"How you feeling son?" Lucius asked. Felix smiled and replied to his dad, earning a smile from the blonde man. "Now I believe we need to talk about what is going to happen to young Mr Finnigan here." Felix felt his heart in his mouth. What will his father say about his son being gay? "Now Seamus, I don't think it's a good idea for you to go back to your mother after what you've told me. Being light supporters, I don't think they'll be happy about their son helping to save a Malfoy." It was true. Not long after arriving at Malfoy manor Seamus had received a letter from his mother announcing that should he return home he would not be welcome. His mother had been a supporter of Dumbledore since birth and his grandparents since the times of Grindlewald, so he knew for sure his family would disown him for sure. So, after reading the letter he went straight to Lucius to ask for help.
"Now Felix, the first thing I want to say is I'm not disappointed or upset or angry at the thought of you being gay. You are you and as a father and I know it's the same for your mother all we want is for you to be happy. So, now you know is there anything you'd like to tell me?" Felix nodded. 'It's now or never' he thought. "Dad…" he paused and took a deep breath. "I'm gay." Lucius smiled and laughed. "I knew that son from the day you were born." Felix felt like a weight was lifted off his shoulders. "Now that's over. Mr Finnigan I would like to offer you a room here at Malfoy Manor however, there are some clauses that must be followed. Now number one. Myself and the rest of my family including the Dark Lord will not force you to join the Dark however we will ask that you remain neutral. Two you will be as free as you wish but please make sure that the house is kept looking immaculate. I don't do mess. There are more but It's all explained in this contract. Your room Seamus is next door and I will arrange an escort to help you retrieve all your belongings from your family home." When Lucius finally finished the boys, smile was as big as his face. Felix was happy. He could work on a relationship with the Irish lad.
Later that night Seamus left Malfoy Manor under the care of Draco and Lord Voldemort himself to collect his belongings from his former home. Arriving in the garden of his small house in Kenmare, County Kerry, he felt his heart sink. "Mr Finnigan as long as I'm here you will not be harmed." Tom reassured the boy. With that he took his first slow step towards the house. It worried him what his mother would say. Before he knew it he was at the door. Tom knocked the door in a very aristocratically. He heard a commotion behind the door before it opened revealing a very skinny old muggle looking very much like Seamus. "Where the feck 'ave you been you little shite." The man said angrily moving his hand to grab Seamus by his robes, but was stopped when Tom pulled out his wand and pointed at the man's chest. "He has arrived to collect his belongings to be moved to a safer place than this." The mans face went bright red. "Like hell he is." He called a woman's name hat Draco believed could only be Mrs Finnigan. A short plump woman came storming to the door and took one look at her son. "Knew it wouldn't be long before you come home traitor." Tom remained calm and asked if they could take this inside stating it was very unbecoming of a wizard to be talking so long on a door step. His confidence worked as they were allowed to enter the drawing room. "Now as I was saying to your husband Mrs Finnigan. Seamus is being moved to a safe place as he no longer feels safe in this house."
The two boys went up Seamus' old bedroom before things got out of hand. "You have a lot of old junk you know that right?" Draco stated as they started boxing things up. "A lot was my cousins. He's older than me so a lot of it is hand-me-downs. Nowhere near as bad as the Weasleys. At least I get new clothes and wands and brooms and things but growing up a lot of my toys and belongings were hand-me-downs." Draco just looked away before he showed the Irish teen that he felt sorry for him. Unlike Felix, Draco didn't show emotion much. He was very private about those things. If he was honest with himself, Draco didn't like many people. He always found it hard to make friends and was often quite lonely as a child. That was until Felix came home. Now he has his close friends that he has made through Felix. But there was something about Seamus. He liked him. Not in the same way as his brother, but he liked him. "So Seamus, you like my brother then do you?" Draco had been talking to Felix that afternoon and found out that he was gay and had a thing for the sandy haired boy. He was the same as the rest of his family. He was happy with any choice that Felix made as long as he was happy. "Yeah I do. He has something about him, not forgetting looks and his smile." Seamus had to stop before he became a squealing school girl. Draco laughed hard at how red the teen went. "I'm happy with that but just one thing. He's had enough pain in his life and if you ever hurt him Azkaban will be too good for me for what I'll do to you." Draco warned and without arguing back Seamus nodded.
"Boys are you ready we need to get back." Tom called up the stairs and within seconds all three were gathered at the bottom of the stairs. "Seamus, I need to tell you something that will hurt but you need to hear it. As of now you parents want nothing to do with you. They refuse to speak to you and also refuse to see you go. Now I could Obliviate them which means change their minds to make them think you never existed or we could leave now and let them think about what they've done." Seamus looked as if he was going to cry. His parents had basically disowned him over his choice to go behind Dumbledore's back to save Felix. Did he really mean that little to him? He thought for few moments before replying. "Wipe me from their memories. They'll be happier not knowing about me." Tom simply nodded and cast the spell before ushering the boys out of the house. They made it out of the garden with Draco throwing an arm around the boy to provide comfort. The boy looked back at his family home for the last time before turning back and following he Dark Lord to the apparition point.
"Felix will you sit down they will be back soon." Narcissa called to her son who had been pacing for the past hour. "Somethings happened mum. They shouldn't take this long." Narcissa rolled her eyes. "For heaven's sake son, they're with your godfather I'm pretty sure they are more than safe." Felix finally sat down. Not 10 minutes after he took a seat the three popped up in the centre of the entrance hall filling Felix with happiness that they were all okay. His mood dropped however when he seen Seamus go to his room with his head down and looking upset. "Is he okay?" Felix asked his brother. Draco explained everything that happened and Felix felt awful. It was all his fault that Seamus lost his family. "He's better off away from them if I say." Tom said before taking a swig of fire whisky that had just been poured by Lucius. "Just give him some time Fe and he will be fine." Felix nodded at his godfather.
The family were sat peacefully in the living room when an owl came flying through the window settling down on the arm of Lucius' arm chair. The owl stuck its leg out and the boys father took it whilst Felix found a treat for the owl. Lucius opened the letter and read it carefully.
Dear Mr L. Malfoy, Mr T. Riddle and Mr F. Malfoy
The hearing of one Albus Dumbledore has been moved to tomorrow morning at nine a.m. Please report in courtroom three as this trial has been deemed serious enough to be dealt with by the Wizengamot.
Sorry for the inconvenience
C. Fudge
Minister of Magic
After Lucius read out the letter he looked over to Tom. "Why have they summoned you there too? Felix I can understand but not you." Tom smirked and just replied saying Secrets are meant for keeping. Knowing not to argue with the Dark Lord Lucius left it at that. "Felix it'll be a long day tomorrow so I think we should get an early night…" Lucius was stopped by Tom standing up "I agree. See you all bright and early." Tom exclaimed as he left the room. "As I was saying. I will wake you at seven thirty please be ready by eight." Felix nodded, said goodnight to his family and headed to his room. Before entering his room, he knocked lightly on the door next to his and a light 'Come in' came from the otheside.
Entering the room seen the broken shell of Seamus sat on his bed. Sitting lightly next to him he pulled the Irish teen into a sidewise hug trying to be of comfort. "I'm sorry Seamus. This is all my fault. If you hadn't have saved me, you'd still have your family." Felix was stopped by a finger on his lips. "I made the choice to save you. And in my eyes, it was the best decision I could have made." Seamus sat staring at Felix for a few seconds before he started moving his lips closer to the blondes. Felix had butterflies in his stomach. Before he could move, he felt the other boys' lips on his. It was the best feeling he had ever felt but as quickly as it started it ended. "I-I-I'm sorry." Seamus said looking away with a red blush on his face. Felix didn't feel the need to ask why, he just pulled the boy into another kiss. "Seamus you have nothing to be sorry for. I really like you." They both smiled and chatted for an hour before Felix left and went to bed. His dad was right. Tomorrow will be a really long day.
So the first steps have been taken in the relationship between Felix and Seamus and tbh writing this has made me feel I have made the right decision. They're too cute.
Don't forget about my new book coming very soon called Isolation. Chapter one of that will be out very soon.
